I enjoyed my stay at the Victoria Palace Hotel immensely. The front desk staff was very accomodating particulary with tourist sites, transportation, dining, etc. The location was excellent with many bus lines just a short walk away. A mini coffee maker would have been a nice touch!
Beautifully restored and transformed Dominican convent furnished with understated good taste. The staff was extremely helpful, courteous and attentive. Breathtaking view of Taormina and the sea. Luxurious garden. Breakfast buffet was the best we've ever experienced. A must. No
Check in was very smooth, room was exactly what was represented, junior suite was very spacious and nice, good value for money, convenient to metro
The hotel staff was very helpful and kind,, and they tried to accommodate your needs. The location was ok.
It was a lovely hotel. It is elegant and comfortable. The elevators are very small
Loved the shower and bathroom. Bed was also good. No real free TV channels available
Clean large rooms, friendly staff Wifi was tough to navigate, but worked well.
The view from our room was beautiful, the location was close to everything. Appreciate the security since being down town elevators only worked with room key. For someone who does travel solo at times this was a nice peace of mind. Staff was wonderful and accommodating.
Staff spoke English and French professionally. Hotel was clean and no non-sense. I don't like how city taxes are not included in the initial hotel price. This is more a problem with French regulation than with the particular hotel. All hotels in France seem to do this.
problem with car parking
The location is good, 200 m far from the underground stattion of Edgar. The area is full of bar and restaurant where is possible to have the "petit dejeuner", the breakfast for 5/6 euros. The lights in the room where not enought, it was difficult to see inside my bag! The breakfast is crazily expensive (21 euros/head!) When we arrived they gave us a room with 2 bads instead of 1 double bad, and i had to ask for it and they gave us a new room.
All of the above, plus location and the breakfast.
It was easy to access transportation and move around the city. The rooms were too warm with no A/C. The street next to the windows were too noisy to open the window to cool the room.
The hotel is very stylish and chique in a fantastic location in the centre of Montparnasse. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was beautiful. The breakfast looked a bit sparse and expensive, so we gave it a miss. The noise from the street cleaners and bottle bank emptiers was very loud!
hotel stuffs are helpfull elevator is very slow
Cant beat the location for access to transit and dining out.
Staff was very nice No
Small and modern hotel with good service. No free wireless internet.
Very nice hotel! Had a specious room (at leats for Paris), Provides fast internet access (both WIFI and cable). Because the hotel is fairly new, the equipment was so too. Excellent breakfast buffet. Will come again.
modern design, clean rooms substandard breakfast in small, unpleasant room in the basement
Clean rooms, good pricing, good location Electronic card key lock, all keys had to be reprogrammed due to booking inconsistencies.
Location. It was a convenient walk (20 minutes?) to museums; shopping was nearby The hotel had no restaurant. Also, the small bar had no bartender one night during my stay, so I could not get a glass of wine to sip while I worked on my computer.
Nice sized room, pleasant staff, location ok, close to trains & quiet, good internet access & air conditioning Standard room rates a bit high for location & quality; also high charge for breakfast
Staff where fantastic, giving advice and organizing outings/things we wished to do (even before we had arrived my wife had contact then and they organized dinner reservations at our favorite restaurant and a night out). we where in europe for a month and this hotel although was the most expensive was the least impressive (i think that might be Paris hotels in general though)
Everything was excellent
spacious room and bath. cleanliness and good service Not very central.
the comfortobility and its closest to the center there was just a hot water in bath, no cold one
Location was ideal, and great breakfast. Room was quiet. Except for the Barman, the staff were excellent. The room was pretty basic, TV channels useless for non French speakers, and getting a drink in the bar nearly impossible, either because nobody was there, or it had closed early!
Good and helpful staff, nice room, comfortable bed
Large room with excellent full bath. The hotel is convenient to Gare Montparnasse, St germain des pres. The hotel itself is lovely, old style. Will return. Everything hunky dory.
the location was excellent, how the room was furnished and its atmosphere.
Availability of triple room. Breakfast included Room tight.
Noise from the road
Nearness of the metro Room was too hot at night with no control over temperature; maid walked in without knocking or announcing; towel warmer did not work; new internet password needed daily - not explained at check in; only one elevator worked
The location is good - within meters of the Gaite metro (line 13) and a short walk from the Montparnasse railway station. Service and facilities are at par with Parisian hotels available at significantly lower prices. I was mislead by the good reviews on this site. Maybe I was just unlucky with the room. It was #104.
The room size was good, comfortable beds, shower and bath and two sinks were great and the buffet breakfast. There were cafes nearby. The separat toillette had an offensive sewer smell.
The location was very close to the major attractions in Paris. Rooms were small but clean and newly renovated. The parking was for compact cars only. The fire alarm went off at 0300 in the morning for almost two consecutive hours.
quiietness inside the hotel, approximate to public transortations
Excellent staff and the hotel is clean and modern. Good location with nice resturants and theaters nearby.
The Location is good and the staff are freindly Nothing
breakfast too expensive
Close to a metro station and easy to find. Very limited facilities, very small room, gave the impression of being run on a budget
Staff were very accommodating, location was excellent for our needs.Hotel currently in final stages of renovations, very pleased with cleanliness of room. The rooms were small, but more than suitable for a short stay.
My wife and I stayed in this hotel in November 2010 because it is conveniently located with respect to the apartment where our son and his wife live. However, Paris is a small city and this hotel is only 2km from Notre Dame and 2km from the Eiffel Tower, so it is pretty central. There are several Metro stations close by and, of course, the famous Paris bicycles. We really liked the hotel The staff were very friendly and spoke perfect English - they also put up with our attempts to converse with them in French. The hotel obviously has been recently renovated. Our room was nicely decorated, very clean with a modern bathroom and separate toilet. The room was fairly small but you don't come to Paris to sit in your hotel room! Good value. Nothing that we didn't like.
The location was safe and convenient, front desk personnel was polite and friendly, the room was clean, the bathroom was designed nicely, the breakfast was reasonably priced (and basic). Small room (seems to be the norm in Paris)
Nice room, convenient for metro, pleasant staff. The lift seems to be directly over a drain!!
room and location wireless internet connection might be free
Location, I did not realise there were so many adult video shops in the area
breakfast was 17 euros and werent told of this until checking out at 12 o'clock.
good location ( near from Montparnasse station, 4 famous Montparnasse cafes), value for money, large enough.
Would definitely return No
Convenient to Metro, restaurants. Room clean, quiet and comfortable.
The location of the hotel was excellent, and the ambience of a hotel this size was excellent
- very clean rooms, good location, charming neighbourhood, very close to Metro, room rather small but not claustrphobic ( ok size for Paris) and decently decorated, flatscreen. Staff very unattent, first day we went for early dinner to the restaurant; it was empty and the employee saw us but just kept talking on his mobile so after 3 min we left;
Quiet and in a good location. The bedroom was on the 5th floor and the windows were sealed so as not to open.
This hotel is nothing more than a room with bed.
Good location to metro, stores, and tourist stops. The air conditioner didn't work very well.
location, quite place It is my third stay and I noted that hotel conditions became worse and worse. Rooms conditions, sanitary places must be renovated. Heating is poor.
location dining facilities
entrance to the hotel, their courtyard was dirty-papers,strange...
The beds were extremely comfortable. The room was simple but good sized. It faced onto a back courtyard and so was very quiet. Both my husband and I commented to each other than we slept extremely well the two nights we spend there. Location was excellent. Room was a bit spartan in terms of places to sit.
It is a very stylish and attractive hotel. The room (plain - and with empty mini-bar!) does not really merit four stars, though it was comfortable, quiet and with a charming outlook on the hotel garden. I very positively enjoyed the stay No - it is attractive, friendly and easy to use
The hotel itself was ok, but the location was really perfect. It's a great place to stay if you just need someplace clean and basic to sleep while touring the city. The staff were not overly friendly and our room had an odd set up (with bunk beds in it and the tiolet was in a room (closet!) separate from the bathroom) but otherwise we had no complaints at all!
Perfect location, price is ok, very nice design of hotel.
The location is very good close to Montparnasse Tower and Gare area and just 200 mts from Edgard Quinet Metro. The rooms were very quiet and the view in the back in nice as well. You have lots of coffee shops, restos, and boulangeries next to the hotel. When i arrived the air conditioning did make a nose like the engines of a Jet Airplain, I went downstairs to the reception and the attendant there with cynical french humour said to me "vous pouvez l'arrete" meaning you can close the A/C if you dont want the noise....DAH !!! but anyway, the following day i was told the air conditioning in the hotel did not work at all, so the 3 days we were out of A/C. They were nice enough to chop about 30% of the bill. Other than the guy who was a smart.a...they reception were ok. The other issue is the bathroom is divided in two and the toilette does not have a fan extractor.
Good value and good location for subway and train connections. Hotel is on a quiet street which helps sleep. Room layout is awkward.
Excellent staff, clean and comfortable rooms, good facilities and superb location. The only mirrors in the hotel room were in the bathroom which made getting ready a bit more time consuming.
The staff are charming and the hotel is in the centre of Montparnasse. Vastly over priced.
The helpful and professional attitude of the staff Room was small
reception can speak english :-) / Breakfast is very nice parking is too narrow :-)
romantic decor ,very clean , helpful staffs, new appliances , free tv internet in your room! , strategic neighbourhood , easy access everywhere. small room , but sigh ... this is paris ...
Staff was most helpful, a real strength. Honors bar, not dining facility but many great places within the block. Proximity to the intersection of Respail and Montparness boulevards is a real asset. Not exactly 'didn't like' but rooms were a bit small, not unusual for an urban European hotel. Some wear and tear but nothing serious.
Friendly and helpful staff. Free internet access. Afternoon tea and coffee in the lounge. For a small street it was surprisingly noisy.
We were pleased overall, but we were especially grateful for the very helpful staff.
It was a placed in a very good location, near the metro stops, near to shops and restaurants so making it very accessible to the city centre. Staff were very helpful and spoke very good English, would recomment to anyone, and would to back. Clean room and good sized ensuite, very adequate for our needs, cot in our room for our toddler also. Could not recommend it enough. Breakfast was pricey but we choose to go to a nearby cafe which was very good.
location, hotel honesty bar, ambience and decor, helpful staff no
The staff was knowledgeable, spoke English well and were always ready to give advice.
position of the hotel entrance too small; lift too small
Nice location, room was clean, internet access was available Room was small, unfortunately all Paris hotel rooms are rather small.
the location was great, the room very clean, the staff very helpfull and nice. did not eat breakfast - too expensive - nice places to have breakfast around. room in the back of hotel - very quite. I stayed in a supirior room did not see others. I chose it because of the price and location and I got a very good value for my money.
The hotel was very clean and well kept, and was in a central location with lots going on. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The hotel provided free internet access and the receptionist even printed off our online flight boarding passes on his own computer. Excellent hotel!
Comfortable hotel in a central location with easy acess to eating out and transport
It is very well located. The doors od the wardrobe were destroyed, and the aspect were not nice.
The breakfast buffet was very good. Just the right selection of food. Internet worked well. Would like the ability to print material at a work station. Hotel staff were able to print boarding passes for us. Room was a bit small and we would have really enjoyed a room with a balcony.
Location Noise from fittings & other guests
Centre of paris
Well located and public parking nearby They have renovated rooms, which you can see on the website, but in case you book you'll get the non renovated ones. These are old and totally outdated! Big discrepancy between the room types. In case you manage to get another room they charge extra!
The internet connection was very poor.
Location, it is right next to a street with very good yet inexpensive restaurants (including excellent sushi places!) and cafes; a metro station is right next to the hotel, which makes it very easy to get anywhere you want to go in Paris. Bathroom was very clean, room had spotlights and a flat screen TV. The hotel was being renovated from outside when we were there, so it was a bit noisy and had a smell of paint, especially during the day when it got hot outside.
Very helpful staff. Very close to Gare Montparnasse and transport.
The hotel is very conveniently located, far enough from the city centre to be quiet during night but with Metro station just in front of the hotel and a selection of restaurants, brasseries and a small shopping mall just across the street. The staff is helpful and speaks English. We have found bedbugs in one of the rooms we stayed in. We immediately got a new room which was perfectly fine - it might have been a particular issue since the hotel spreads across 4 floors and 2 connected, rather old buildings.
Breakfast A bite noisey in the main front bedroom
Very good location 1 minute from Montparnasse railway station, friendly staff, close to main sights.
Clean room and friendly staff. Would have liked to have breakfast included with the price of the hotel. Other than that no complaints.
Convenient location - next to one metro and within short walk to two others. Plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants within close walking distance, maybe 30 within 200 metres. Very friendly and helpful staff, and very good value for money. Lift is small and slow.
Friendly and kindness of the hotel staffs none
It is very close to everything and conveniently located Rooms are a bit small
Location, staff were friendly Room was very small
Location Very small room for price.
very kind personnel, clean room, and wifi (using orange) worked for me a little bit noisy airconditioner
Stayed 3 nights. As a tourist, the hotel location was very good to access the train station and metro with good selection of food options close by at the end of each day. Room (small) & bathroom (roomy) were neat and clean. Had street view, unacceptable street noise if windows are open, acceptably quiet if windows are kept close. Staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast- eggs (hardboiled & scrambled) were on the warmed up side instead of cooked. Presentation was nice.
good location to where we needed to be.
The staff were extremely helpful It was very noisy - there is a club nearby with music until 4am. My room smelt of smoke and I had to leave the window open, but then it was too noisy to sleep.
The staff were extremely kind and friendly - very unusual (in my experience) for a central Parisian hotel. The location is excellent - two minutes walk from the metro and Gare Montparnasse. This place is absolutely fine for a short business stay. The rooms are not spectacular by any means, but they are adequate. The bathroom was fine - very clean. The room was slightly odd although it is difficult to say exactly why. You can tell they have done some refurbishing, but there is still a sense of the old run-down feeling left over...
Excellent position of the hotel, really near to Montparnasse railway station, Boulevard Montparnasse. A bit more efficient soundproof window would be better, but it was rather good.
Very good service. Cleanness. Comfortable room from clean bathroom. Perfect position. Small problem from setting temperature under shower.
Good position; helpfull staff The room is very small.
the kindness of the receptionist and his help with my bags when I arrived.
