Very convenient - friendly staff - clean and comfortable
Great Location, walking distance to Notre Dame, Centre Pompidou and plenty of restaurants in area. About 20 mins walk from the Louvre (name a bit misleading). Excellent double glazing to keep the noise out and air conditioning Were given room 42 first, but chambermaid was not yet finished so changed us to 44. Big difference, much nicer room. But still very cramped (especially bathroom) and old/dated. Could do with a little refreshing
good location, the hotel was better than expected! Only two teabags and coffee-bag pro room
Good central location, staff very helpful and pleasant also good breakfast Room needed updating
Excellent location, near subway. In walking distance to museums and historic sites. Staff excellent job done. enjoyed
Good location. Clean rooms. Good Breakfast Rooms were small but comfortable
Very vvell situated to shopping centres No vvaiting room at reception. Reception space too small.
Excellent location, very clean and comfortable, reception staff very efficient and friendly. Bedrooms rather small, breakfast adequate and although expensive compares reasonably with the local restaurants.
The Hotel Staff are very friendly with smily face ... specially Miss Auwana Room is small ... but it is OK for business trip
Location was superb. Room was small but efficient. Staff was delightful The airport transport system with which the hotel has an arrangement is a disaster. The van arrived 40 minutes late. The driver had an accident on the way to the airport. The hotel desk clerk said he has gotten many complaints about this van service
Staff very helpful.
Location Nothing in particular
Excellent location, modern decor, friendly staff. A stone's throw from Notre Dame. Staff were extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations and even late breakfast. Small room, but par for the course in Paris. They're doing renovations, but that has to happen sometime, so no big deal.
Excellent location in the centre of Paris. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of good restaurants nearby. I would definately stay here again. The room was fairly small, especially the bathroom. Having said that, the bed, furnishings etc. were top quality. Hotel rates were very pricey, but in my opinion, you get what you pay for in the centre of a capital city!
Location is great!!! Staff are very sexy and friendly!!! It's a bit expensive but it's Paris so....
Its Location I think that the rates at expensive for the size of the rooms and the facilities available
Staff of the hotel extremely frindly and helpful. Nice atmosphere in a nice area. Close to restuarants and metro. Rooms are too small.Only 1 elevator very small and slow. No internet free. Breakfast too expensive. Minbar too expensive.
its central location i guess. it was very easy to move using the metro. generally, i think the staff should be more helpful and polite and their rates should be much more low.
The hotel was beautiful and the location was fantastic. There were many restaurants and shops in the area, and it was perfectly located for exploring all parts of the city. Also, many of the new, popular restaurants are within walking distance.
A very comfortable hotel in an ideal location for Paris and especially the Marais quarter. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms very well designed (quite small but this is normal for Paris) but the use of space was well appointed. A very good lounge / bar for relaxing and free WiFi
The decor and the central location The street outside is very noisy, so we couldn't open the window even though the room was too hot for comfortable sleep (20 degrees).
the courtesey and the comfort, quietness
Delightful, friendly and helpful service from the concierge Loic. Good English spoken. Comfortable clean room. Public sitting area/reception was limited because of lace of space and because weather was bad and we could not sit in the pretty courtyard. However we were happy to return to our cosy room after a long day of sightseeing. Excellent for a short city break and good location for sightseeing in Paris and close to a metro station. No
This hotel is very centralized near Notre Dame and the Hotel De Ville Metro. Thomas, the receptionist. I'm rating this briefly b/c I am a critic. My full review will be on another website and popular magazine. First, the room was filthy and tiny. Not worth the money. There were blood stains on the curtains. The chairs in the room had more stains than I could count, looking as if they have never been cleaned. The toilet ran all day and all night requiring maintenance. The fixture in the kitchenette was loose and after addressing it with management nothing was done. The vent in the bathroom had inadequate ventilation and had dirt fuzz hanging off of it. I had to clean it myself. It looked as if it had never been cleaned. The bathtub leaked from both sides when taking a shower requiring us to use half of the towels in the bathroom for each shower so we wouldn’t slip on the floor. The hotel cleaning staff never did an adequate job cleaning the bathroom and after discussing it with Thomas the receptionist, he explained that they were unreliable and often did not show up to work. Despite his excuses he was very nice and cordial. The mini-bar was in a cabinet with no vent creating a heat source from under the kitchenette. This made the room even hotter because the air conditioning did not work for our entire stay. The rude Chilean woman receptionist almost scolded me and my wife telling us not to touch the thermostat in the room. I heard other guest complaining about this issue also. It registered a constant 29 Celsius, or 85 Fahrenheit. Lastly, the wireless internet connection did not work. It required a cable from hotel management. The best thing about our stay at this hotel was the location and the service received by Thomas, though after finding out I was a critic he explained to me that there were much bugger and nicer rooms and offered to let me see them. I declined. We should have received a nicer room if it was available. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. It barely makes 3 in my book.
Excellent location, excellent staff. Very comfortable room. Only slight niggles - I wasn't sure how the air conditioning worked (the room was a little warm at night) and the toilet was sometimes a little eccentric. To be fair, however, the concierge did offer to have a look at the toilet if we wanted and, again, I could have asked about the air conditioning. On the whole, we were delighted with the hotel and will definitely stay again and recommend it to others.
Excellent location. Comfortable rooms. Very nice breakfast. Very helpful staff. We had several problems with our room (safe not working, heating not working, toilet flush broke down while we were there). The staff available were as helpful as they could be and did their very best. I think we were just particularly unlucky anbd I have no reason to believe that other guests had similar problems. To compensate for all our problems we were offered free breakfast each morning and also got a half bottle of champagne. The most senior staff available most of the time was a receptionist and there was no manager on site.
The room was very spacious, for a hotel in the centre of paris. It is really idealy located in the heart of the centre 30 meters away from the metro, in the lovely Marais area. We got a free upgrade to a superior room because we stayed there for 5 days, which was great. Staff was nice and spoke english (as well as french) really well. Another great thing was the rooms are all overlooking an atrium, so you do not hear any street noise. I've stayed in a lot of hotels in paris but this was by far the best one ! I would recommend this hotel to anyone ! PS we didn't have breakfast in the hotel, so i don't know how that was.
Very good position next to bars, brasseries and metro Rooms are very nice but a bit small
The central location, closeness to the subway system and the pleasant view from the window.
great location, very helpful staff, comfortable, quiet room
The location of the hotel is excellent. Very near the metro and in the heart of the Marais. Most of the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly Upon check-in the staff at the front desk were aloof, bordering on rude and one woman was particularly unengaged and rude.
The location, the staff and the room - all were amazing! Very close to the metro, great food and sights. Would definitely consider staying here again during our next visit! No possibility of early check in. But we could store our luggage with them since we arrived early.
Beautiful room and facilities. Nice balcony on the Annex overlooking a great restaurant. Nice private courtyard accesses rooms in Annex (which is cheaper than main hotel). Very near the walled ancient city center. Rooms are right along a narrow street with traffic noise most of the night.
The level of service given by the staff and management was excellent and beyond our expectations for the hotels 3 stars. We will definitely stay here again. If the hotel coould quieten the noise of the "fire door" at the bottom of the stair well, it would have improved the quality of sleep. We could hear this door slam quite loudly when people came through it at any hour during the night. Unfortunately we did not get to advise the management of this, as we are sure they would have taken steps to mitigate the noise.
Very central within walking distance of the metro. Perfect location to visit the Louvre, Bastille and Notre Dame
location and clean; close to metro
I read it's was a renovated hotel. If this is the definition of renovated I had a room with paid on the tapestry . The decoration dated 1970 and even more. The only renovation that I find was the sink.
Location was excellent. Facilities were adequate.
Hotel in great location. The room was a decent size and nicely decorated - hotel newly renovated. One staff member (Lawrence) in particular provided amazing service. The breakfast was too expensive for what was provided. We had breakfast at the corner cafe where we had great coffee and pastries and was less costly. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room though I was told we could have free hot water anytime from reception for us to make it ourselves.
Good location and friendly helpful staff.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and well situated in the center of Paris. It was nice to stay in a hotel that wasn't overdone with chintz and ruffles for a change. The staff was very pleasant.
The location was excellent. The room was not clean and the bed was very uncomfortable. I would not stay there again.
Good location. Nice restaurants near by and walking distance to main attractions. Room interior decoration in historic style. Very helpful staff. Little noise from street.
Its atmosphere and entirely unique style. Its staff who are unobtrusive yet keen to help. Will book at Saint-Merry again because we've visited several times over the years and are fond of it, but could not yet recommend to friends for reasons below. The lack of lighting in our 3rd floor room with a window overlooking other windows. Even though the room had no direct outside light many of the lights were either not working or had 'dead' bulbs in them. A lot of mending needed on wooden furniture and on electric plugs - no janitorial upkeep apparent.
Hotel St. Merry should be considered as a cultural visit to the past. It is a small piece of re-purposed space from the corner of an old church connected. North Americans will be "amused" at the compactness of the entire structure but should understand that for the price it is well situated in the 4th district with quick access to Paris central. The staff are very friendly. There is no elevator. Perhaps a little more attention to detail in cleaning. Though all fixtures are quaintly original and authentic some require new fabric as in the case of lamp shades. This is mostly regarding "soft furnishings". We liked the sheets but not the bed covers...duvet's would be more appropriate to the ambiance.
The location is pretty decent, though it can be noisy at weekends. The hotel has no record of my four-day booking, and told me my confirmation email was "impossible". They found us a room after several hours, but we had to change after the first night. Rooms are very small and dusty, and we had a steep 81-step climb to get to them. The "deluxe" room, where we stayed for our first night, was pretty tatty and noisy. The "standard room" was in slightly better condition, and away from the road.
good place very helpful/friendly staffs
Location great. Close to everything. Rooms very small, no air condition - only table fan. Clean, comfortable beds. Very friendly staff. Did no try breakfast, it's only continental at 9.0 euro. Great place across the street for breakfast. Value for the money - very good but you give up some convenience. No place for second suitcase - had to push out chair. Wi-fi works most time. F not - attendant fixed a couple of times.
The location is undeniably excellent. Les Marais is a guaranteed good time My room was very dingy for $100. The only thing that looked clean was the bathroom. The bedroom was shabby, and dark. The hotel staff literally was very uninformed. I asked very simple questions such as, how to get to the airport, and how to get to Versailles and they couldn't tell me. They also failed to let me know about metro construction taking place. They were overall not helpful, and did not interact kindly with me (with the exception of 1 woman.) I wouldn't stay here again
It was in a fantastic location. They were renovating the room above us so we were woken at 7am every morning. When we complained it was basically treated as 'bad luck'. Eventually someone checked out and they moved us into their room but when I said it wasn't fair to the people going into our old room, they didn't care at all... It was just bad luck for them. Forget that we are all paying customers on holiday... It was lost on them!
The location was great and the facilities were good. The free WiFi throughout the hotel was very much appreciated
The room was comfortable and quiet. The location was good for what we wanted to experience. The lack of suggestions as to where to one might go to eat.
good location. Quiet and close to the city center.
Perfect location for exploring the city.
The location was good. It is right behind the Center Pompidou. Room was clean. The hotel staff was Not very friendly at all. No smile, no say hello or bye. We didn't feel welcomed at all. The shower was terrible. there was no shower curtain but a glass door only covers 1/3 of the bath. The bathroom was flooded after shower even if we were very careful.
Great location. Decent room. No English Language Television.
Surprisingly friendly and helpful staff (for Paris). Rooms were small but well equipped and comfortable. Location excellent
perfect location. Quite quartier late check in. You can hear teh noise fromt he other rooms. It might wake you up at night
The location and friendly staff Room was a bit too dark despite the lights being on.
The reception staff were excellent with information to tourist places of interest incl. Disneyland & Cruise tickets & return airport shuttle to CDG airport.
Hotel was well situated for metro and Le Marais area where lots of restaurants and shops which are open on Sundays; good location to stay in Paris for a weekend city break Situated on a busy road so can hear traffic
staff, rooms, location
There was a cute little balcony in my room which was nice to be able to see out onto the busy street below. I enjoyed the location very much, very convenient! Lots of shops, etc. in a bustling neighborhood. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was really disappointed by this hotel. The major issue was the cleanliness - it was pretty dirty, the carpet was very stained - I felt grossed out by the room. This is in part because it's an old building, etc - however, even so, it should have been cleaner. You could tell only the basic areas were cleaned by the housekeeping staff. The sheets were clean, the bedspread could use replacing. The room was cute, sufficient to suit the needs of a traveler who is not picky & doesn't care about cleanliness.
The breakfast was excellent and value for money and it was quite central for the places we had to visit. the room furniture was too big for the size of the room and the bathroom looked a bit shabby for a 3 star hotel.
Lokation The room was poor ...for this prise
If you need hot water for coffee, ask the reseption.
the staff was very kind. Alwais helping wtih any request.
The location is good for exploring the Marais. Also easy access to other locations and near a metro station and bus stops. The room was very small and quite stuffy. Also blind in bathroom was inadequate - it only reached halfway down the window!
The hotel was very central and very clean, the staff were very helpful. We also stayed elsewhere in Paris and the Hotel Rivoli was by far better value for money.
