There was no room for unpacking our clothes! stayed for one week and there was not a single drawer or shelf to store anything so after paying the rate of a 4 star hotel, we got the "confort" level of a 2 star hotel instead. The carpets were filthy and the matresses were soiled! The narrow hallways smelled and felt like a cheap cruiseship. We are very dissapointed with the quality of the rooms and the overall value of this hotel.
The locxation is great for the cente of Paris, without being in any high traffic or people area. The Hotel facilities are good and the breakfast a splendid spread. Taxis are hard to come by, and the Chatalet station, whilst being very close, is a nightmare to understand (Not the Hotels problem)
Very convenient to RER. Great location! Quiet. Friendly staff.
Facilies were very nice and the location is very central. Very short walk to multiple train lines and metro. With one exception with an encounter with a bartender which was terrible, the staff was great. Most front door men are always hustling bags, giving directions and calling cabs. All spoke English. Family's be aware of one minor quirk. The bathroom and shower doors are clear glass with a dulling switch. It just doesn't get real dull. It's still very see through for all members to see. However the rooms were very modern and clean.
easy to visit shops and west bank area the shower cubical water flow was poor to non-existant. we complained to room supervisor but told it was normal on 5th floor
Well located in a lively part of Paris and close to shopping and restaurants.
They should not advertise free internet as for four days I could not check my e-mails as two same people were occupying the two computers they have for hours every day.
Overall help with taxis, dinner reservations, comfort of the room, location close to exciting parts of Paris, extremely helpful staff. Also, the size of the room, relative to other Paris hotels, is superior. A nice, professional, contemporary hotel with a first-class staff and great attention to detail.
We didn't like the third bed, was too small
Location. Nice rooms. Long waiting line at the breakfast
The location was great very central The area looked abit dodgy at night but we had no trouble whatsoever!
Service was excellent. All staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful. The hotel is conveniently located 5 min from the Louvre, restaurants and the metro. Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Design and location food
Location Room service was rude, the bathroom smelled really bad and it stunk up the bedroom. breakfast was not good nor tasty. The bed was not king or queen size, it was two single beds put togather, very uncomfortable
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were exceptional. They did everything within their power to make your stay more enjoyable and to assist you in any matter.
Hotels name is not visible from the street
The staff were very nice and helpful and spoke good english. The breakfasts were very good, we also liked the nice linen used and the comfortable bed. The hotel reception area is not very welcoming. There is only an old couch and 2 very small reception desks with poor quality music playing. My first impression of the hotel was not good, they could have made the reception area much more inviting - get rid of the couch!! We also didnt like the shower as it was hand held! - makes it hard to wash your hair, thats if there is any hot water as on 2 occasions in the morning there was no hot water, especially annoying on the morning of departure before a 24 hour flight home!
The room we had on our second night was very nice. It was as we had booked - a Classic room. I don't understand. If you don't want us to write about a bad experience - which we had - why ask?
Perfect location for side seeing and museums, especially Louvre as well as for shopping There is no real lobby and reception desk - instead rather ridiculous two stands for staff
Very clean dust free environment due to no rugs on the floor. Excellent staff service. Small hotel, with very personal service. Very quiet room. Excellent location. At 400 a night, it seemed pricey but I don't visit Paris enough to know the going rates. I walked into another 4 star and asked about rates and they were 25 to 30 % cheaper. The quality of the service at L'Empire is so good though that it was worth the extra money. Also, their web site on Hotels.com listed shuttle service which they didn't have, although to their credit, they found me a shuttle service, although in the end I chose to take a car to the airport.
Every single member of staff was very friendly and very helpful. The hotel was in a perfect location, between all the main sights to see. The foyer was a little plain and not very welcoming.
Everything was excellent. Staff are very helpful & facilities great. The location is superb, close to Louvre, Pont Neuf and Metro but very quiet in rooms.
Design and Decoration Broken Lift more than 1 Day (If Compare with this Level)
Excellent Rooms, excellent location
Small, clean, kind service, central Better acces to internet and printeracess
fantastic location and friendliness of desk staff the mini elevator, but I think this is common thoughout hotels in France
Compact hotel with attentive staff. Space at a premium but efficiently designed with modern baths.
the location was good to get to marais and to st germain as well as of course the louvre so easy. room was quiet, clean large enough in paris terms. so was happy and will stay again. that breakfast is extra. but that is typical of france. also dont like that you have to take your bags by yourself. im too old for that nonsense.
Extreme helpfulness of most staff. Reference to 'Hot breakfast' Abscence of coffee/tea facilities in room (Neither of these important).
Location Breakfasts is very poor. Staff in bufett one of the shifts is rude staff
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They also spoke excellent English. Brilliant location for the Louvre.
I enjoyed the proximity to where I needed to meet people and see a few sites. I just felt that the internet should have been free of charge.
very clean wifi access not free
Location only It was 2 star
Location size of the room, very small
Hotel staff are very polite and helpful. The room tastefully decorated and clean. None
the staff were helpfulf and the hotel is in a perfect locationn to view to city. i would stay again!
Friendliness of staff Close to sights No bar Rooms were a little small
This hotel was extremely comfortable, I was delighted with the location of the hotel and would recommend it to friends. Hotel rooms very samll
excellent location, very helpful staff, easy walk to most important sites and the latin district rooms are on the small side, but normal for Paris and for the age of the building; hotel worn out a little; closeness to St. Eustache church and gardens atracts homeless population
The hotel was very convenient to the location of my business meeting. The staff was excellent and I would choose this hotel again if the opportunity presented itself.
Location, location, location! Great location in Paris
The location of the hotel is great: near Louvre Museum, rue Rivoli, Les Halles, Centre Pompidou. Lot of restaurants and bars just at few steps from it. The Hotel is small but very clean. The service is good.
Great location especially if you arrive in Paris by train. Rooms are very small.
the room is actually pretty noise (outside noise - as expected) but the water pipes in the room are a nightmare
the central location and the staff.
Very friendly and helpful receptionist and a very clean room The shower made the entire bathroom wet
The service at the front desk was friendly and helpful I would definitely return on my next visit to Paris. No
Position is perfect!! The staff is very friendly and helpful rooms are too small for families,
Its location. It was very close to where I wanted to be. The room was drab, the carpet worn. The decor was dreary. The matress was hard, lumpy and worn.
location and staff
All about the location. That part was great. Major problem with this supposed 4 star hotel. Internet service is a disaster. Could not get on for my entire stay. The staff even admits it has problems but it really should be corrected. You cannot be on business if you cannot even get on email.
The location is excellent - the hotel is so easy to reach from the Gare du Nord, for example, on the RER or Metro line 4. Pompidou Centre, Louvre, Marais, etc., are all short and pleasant walks away. The street on which the hotel is situated is full of lively bars, superb speciality shops - cheese, wine, chocolate, fruit, fish - that it can be hard to tear oneself away from the immediate vicinity! The locality brings its own problems! I have stayed here in the winter, in a room leading onto the internal courtyard, without problems. During this visit, in a third-floor room with a street view, the noise from the bars was a problem - I was in Paris on business and needed more peaceful surroundings.
issue with hot water one morning. moreover i booked a double room although i was traveling alone, and I fear I ended up with a single room...
excellent decoration, comfortable bed, quiet and wonderful location Standard room is far too small for overseas traveller with more than one bag
Excellent location in characterful area close to Paris centre. Very neat & clean with all fittings & furniture in very good condition Small room, cramped for space, although not unexpected at the rate/location
The lady on reception was excellent - very helpful and welcoming. Hotel was very clean. The room faced the street so was very noisy late at night and especially early hours of the morning due to rubbish collection and deliveries. Also the bed was uncomfortable due to a big dip in the middle of the matress! Only one English TV channel which was Sky News.
This was our second stay at this hotel - lovely little place, very stylish, staff extremely nice and helpful -highly recommended.
We have to ask for vacuuming the room. Also to change the glass at mini bar.
The location is super - nice and quiet but yet filled with good atmosphere and cosy resturants and cafees. I would definately choose this hotel another time.
The hotel and its rooms have a nice decor and it is centrally located, quite close to major shopping areas (Les Halles), metros and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room, although fully equipped, were quite small. Luckily the booking was done over the web at a fair price, as their advertised rates from rooms started from EUR 214, which I find exagerated given the size of the room!
relaxing, convenient to metro and sightseeing, nice rooms small elevator
Location and staff are excellent! Room size is too small for families.
Location, friendly staff, atmosphere Rooms a bit tiny but typical of Paris
General location Hard to find at first, for those who are driving.
Nice staff If you book a single room beware, they don't tell you that you look out to a 2 foot courtyard and 3 other rooms so you have to keep your curtains closed at all times
Good location, peaceful, good decor.
Very nice location - 10min. to Louvre, 10 min. to Notre Dame, restaurants shopping, metro - within 5 min. walk. Room was very nice - typical Paris budoire style, bathrobe, slippers, kettle in the room and very comfortable orthopedic beds, free WiFi in the room - everything was superb and most of all - very nice helpful friendly staff. I dont have problems with english language - but extra asset to russian travellers - very nice russian speaking lady Olga at the reception. She helped me to book all the excursions. Glass of champagne upon arrival. Definetely very nice holodays! Cant find any - no noice,no any disturbing factors.
We liked everthing about the Hotel. It is ideally placed for enjoying Paris both during the day and at night. The rooms were well presented, clean and comfortable. But the best thing about this Hotel is the staff. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them and they were extremely friendly and seemed determined to do everthing they could to make sure we enjoyed our stay: I cannot speak highly enough about them or the Hotel. This was our four or fifith stay in Paris and this Hotel stands head and shoulders above the rest of the Hotels we have stayed in. We shall definately return. Nothing whatsoever.
This is a charming hotel, perfect for romance and sightseeing, full of character and located within walking distance of most major places of interest. Nearby there are restaurants, a general store and a sandwich bar which sells homemade soups and desserts, run by a vivacious proprietor. Rivoli, a major shopping street, is around the corner. Despite this, the hotel was a haven of peace and quiet. My girlfriend and I had a balcony room on the fifth floor where we could sit, protected from the rain amongst tubs of flowers, enjoying the views. Our room had a mini-bar, coffee making facilities, television, antique bureau, bath robes and slippers. There was a bidet and hairdryer in the shower room, plenty of hot water. Highly recommended!! There was nothing we didn't like. We love this hotel and will stay there again.
The location was excellent - it was great for seeing the city. It was very run down and old. We had to walk 112 steps to our rooms (If we had known this we would not have booked). After using my hairdryer, I pulled it out of the electrical socket and the whole outlet came out of the wall, wires and all. The man at the reception was not particularly informative or interested in helping us.
The hotel was close to the metro and many of the major tourist attractions. The room was not tidy. The toilets/bathroom smelled of urine. We had no hot water on one morning because there is only a limited amount for all the hotel guests. We didn't get up early enough and therefore had no hot water.
Staff at reception were unhelpful. Telephone in room did not work
A good clean basic hotel in an excellent position for the centre of Paris.Lots of nice cafes/restaurants in the area and metro 5 mins walk away.Basic rooms - but for 89 Euros in the centre of Paris its great value.Would stay again
we liked the fact the hotel was right in the centre of paris. at reception we were told we were on the 5 floor there was no lift as we began walking up the stairs there was in fact 10 full flights of stairs to the room and no tea making facilities.
It's all about the location. Also, we got an actual double bed, not two singles pushed together like most other budget holidays. The hotel completely lacked any sense of atmosphere. While the staff were polite and helpful, a bit of effort to make the lobby and entry more appealing would do the world of good.
Confortable bed Even for backpackers is too ugly. They should not charge more than EUR 35 per day and for sure not to be announce in Booking.com
5 mins to the louvre museum and metro station.supermarket close to the hotel.cheap breakfast for 1.90euro(1 bread+1 coffee) ,sandwics at 2.70to 4euros,5mins from the hotel. m,water for 1to 2.50euro(1500ml) base on shop.delicious cake around the place.Best location for visitor to lourve museum.can choose with bf or no breakfast.big luggage store for guest and safety because staff always around. shower room & WC is small but still fine for trip whole day outside and back to hotel for sleep.trash basket only 1 in the room.light on coridor not automatic or by sensor,so you have to switch on the light on every floor(coridor)yourself.no lift, and every floor only have 2 to 4 rooms in maximum.no AC in room but we went on sept 7 to 9th,so fine for us.
We were very dissatisfied with St. Honore and transferred to another hotel for the second night of our stay. The stairs were dangerous with our luggage as there was no lift. Also paint peeling on ceiling and rooms and bathrooms very small. I did not like anything about this hotel.
Location of hotel was great Lack of any customer service - anything beyond getting a pamphlet was too much trouble. Nothing in the room worked i.e. Hot water was hit and miss, the chair, bed, room safe, TV and wardrobe were all broken. The room was clean, but linen was stained, pillows well past their use-by date and poorly made beds. Smoking in rooms and the narrow unlit stairs were the only way to exit - a fire Hazard!
Adequate but expensive for a small no air con room lack of air con.
The hotel is perfectly located. It's very close to les Halles or Chatelet metro station and everything else of interest to tourists. The staff are very polite, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Everything was excellent and as expected.
The staff were so helpful The hotel was closing down as from this week for total refurbishment but looking forward to going back when it repoens
The location was perfect and staff was very polite and helpful. It was good that hotel is located on small street, so it is quite even if you open the window. Breakfast was standard continental, but was enough. I would stay here again for sure!
We liked the location (very close to metro/RER station which took us directly to Disneyworld, walking distance to Louvre); the staff which immediately offered us the map of Paris and explained the whereabouts of anything we wanted to find; the cleanliness of rooms and bathrooms. One out of three days, the service in a cafe at breakfast was slow.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel had charm and character and we enjoyed our stay very much. No parking available and the carpark was a few long blocks away, which made getting our luggage to the hotel a bit tedious.
The location is perfect in the centre of Paris, close to RER A The room was pretty small but for me alone no problem. for a couple it is too small.
The people in care were very friendly and helpful.
Good location tommny of the tourist attractions in Paris. Easy access to Metro and rer. Close to Open top Buss route and River Boat Station. The perfume used in the room was very strong and gave me hayfever.
Friendly staff, clean room, fantastic location. Only bad point was a faulty shower. However, on advising the staff the problems was dealt with promptly.
Great location, friendly staff, close to lots of shops and food (restaurants and bakeries), and of course close to the Louvre. The hall lights are on a sensor which is kind of creepy. Bathroom pretty small. Construction next door woke me up early but that's not the hotels fault.
friendly and helpful staff while the room was comfortable and clean, the shower and sink both had drainage problems. we ended up showering with 4 inches of dirty water backing up from the drain
clean, friendly and helpful staff. No elevator to the top floor. For carring a heavy suitcase to clamber the narrow stairs is not easy. Out for hot water in one day.
The style and location of the hotel were great. Walking distance to many great places and metro. Very friendly staff. Very clean and stylish.
Brilliant location for the Louvre, the Pompidou, the Comedie Francaise and Notre Dame, as well as being close to the Metro for easy access to the rest of Paris. Excellent value, very clean rooms and friendly, helpful staff. Many cafes, bakeries and restaurants very close by.
it is clean comfort safe and good location
The staff was amazing! Rooms were very clean and quiet. The room was small but it was nice.
The hotel is located centrally and within a hundred yards or so of the Louvre. The location could not be better. The staff were polite and able to arrange transfers and many other things on behalf of guests. The rooms were clean and comfortable, definetly one to recommend. Nothing to dislike.
Staff were excellent and helpful, brilliant location right opposite of Louvre! Room very well cleaned.
The location was amazing. Metro station was really near, but I hardly had to use it because many tourist attractions were within walking distance. The rooms were clean so were the toilets. Room service runs till 1.30am so that was arguably convenient. The bed (queen sized) was a little small for two people.
Location, next to the Louvre and River Seine. And nearby NotreDame. The hotel did not match up to our expectations. The bathroom design/layout is especially bad: the towel hangar is in the shower area, there is no other hanging area; there is only 1 spot light in the bath room, so we shower in the shadows; the bathtub is very dirty, with dirt marks on the surface that cannot be cleaned. Overall, I think this hotel is over-rated.
Proximity to attractions/transportation Staff was very helpful Value, right next to the Louvre Smelled like smoke in the room
location, comfort, value for money
Very good position and easy access to metro. Hotel reception staff were very helpful with advice about metro, shows, etc.
The location of the hotel was excellent, really close to the Metro, close to the Louvre, close to a great patisserie a couple of blocks up. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is in a good location for central Paris, near the Louvre, Seine etc. It is also in a very quiet street opposite a church which makes a lot of difference. We would definitely stay there again.
Very nice location and comfortable to visit city. Staff are friendly.
The hotel location is near all the tourist sights and metro stations. The sight are all within walking distance. Hotel is located in quiet streets.Breakfast is expensive so we ate at cafes nearby.
