The staff was most courteous and helpful. The hotel was very convenient to the heart of Paris and many of its attractions. I recommend that reservations be re-confirmed prior to travelling to avoid any confusion.
Location, style, very friendly and professional staff at front desk and concierge Room not very spacious, no gym/spa
We loved the central location, across from the Louvre and the Gardens of Toulerie as well as the view of the Eiffel Tower. Sightseeing, shopping and all types of dining were within walking distance. There was nothing unpleasant about this hotel.
location & style
Great atmosphere, helpful staff.
Location and attention to detail by a superb staff
Location and comfort.
The worst hotel Old smelly rooms , bad carpet dirty, wood very bad
Location, nice atmosphere On the expensive side
The quality of the rooms, decoration, and space are far far less than shown in the pictures and indicated in the hotel desciption.
it was next to the metro station
Excellent location, helpful staff, clean rooms, large and light bathrooms, really french atmosphere, close to most of the sightseeings and fashion boutiques. The decoration of rooms is a bit tired, but this is a problem of the most of the hotels in the centre of Paris.
Concierge services are exceptional - special thanks to Eric, Remy, Magaly.
Great location ......just a short walk from some fantastic places of great interest. Buzzing cafe night life right on the doorstep too....good atmosphere in the hotel... It seemed expensive and the quality failed to match the expense....certainly for a pound based UK visitor. There was a shortage of helpful welcoming staff....particularly at reception where you face an unacceptable wait. Irritating.
The welcoming and very helpful staff, cleanliness of rooms, and above all, the excellent location. The room service was poor. We had a baby and we used to order warm milk twice a day. They gave us hot milk one day, watered down the other, cold another, and so on, even though every day we asked for a glass of warm milk. I guess it all depends on who is on the shift.
The best about hte hotel is its location - just next to the Louvre, between two squares, walking distance to everything I wanted to visit (never took a taxi or any other kind of transport). The receptionists were English-speaking and nice and helpful. The room was spacey (stayed in a junior suit), as well as the bathroom, cosy and clean. In fact, everything in the room, as well as the service, could be compared to a 5* hotel (including the cosmetics in the bathroom). Plus, the free WiFi is a nice addition to all. The hall and the corridors need renewing - the first impression of the hotel lowers ones expectations because of the old and a bit dirty common spaces in the hotel. Another thing, is that the air-conditioning was poorly working and it was a bit hot, but I just turned it off and opened the windows from time to time. Also, unpleasant surprice was the thinnes of the walls - I could hear every slam of a door and footsteps, however, no one really made noise, so I slept like a baby. One more thing about noise is that the windows of my room overlooked an inner yard and when opening the window there was a bussying sound from the air-conditioning or other machines. Overall, these were quite minor problems and didn't spoil my stay in the least!
O.K., I know its owned by Hyatt but It still felt boutiquey and small with a personal touch (as if not owned by Hyatt). The staff focused on attentive service, from the front desk, to room service, etc. Its clearly part of the staff culture. There is an intimate feel as if they all know each other--and everything about you. When I spoke to one front desk person they know a discussion I had with another the day before. The Concierge was amazing and made recommendations and the actual reservations and when things were not available made good judgments on his own for changes. We felt like they know us and were watching out for us. It is not that big really which helps in this case. The rooms felt well maintained with a terrific balance of old world and new. Highly Recommended!!!!
Great traditional typical parisian 4* hotel. Excellent location. Wanted 100 euros to stay until 1:00pm for check-out. Offered me 12 noon free.
Concierge service was very good, reasonably quiet, bed comfortable, bar was nice, bath was clean room was very small, location just ok, very expensive (breakfast 27 euro, or about $40 each) bar drinks expensive, room very expensive for the size and quality
Great location, slightly older hotel but in great condition, very clean. I enjoyed the old photos in the hallways although I felt the decor in my room was lacking. The hairdryer in the bathroom was awesome, very powerful! I didn't like that I had to buy an adapter - I came from a hotel in Munich that allowed guests to rent.
Fantastic location. Right next to a main subway stop that made it perfect for infra-city travel. Staff was warm, welcoming, and accommodating. Highly recommend Some road noise from the city streets while sleeping. Although I think this is overall hard to avoid in downtown Paris. It certainly should not hinder you from selecting this hotel
Staff was courteous, rooms were clean, location was great, restaurant/ bar in lobby great. I didn't like that I had to buy an adapter. Most hotels lend them and have it in the rooms. I'm staying in London now and there is an adapter for free. I didn't like that there was a charge for hi speed internet. Low speed was free but u had to pay for high speed, seems silly.
the bed was so comfortable and the room was very nice. No enough space for the luggage or in room dinning.
This is a modern, clean, comfortable hotel in a prime location in St. Germain, near the Musee d'Orsay, an upscale area with good restaurants nearby . It is not a particularly tourist-oriented neighborhood and many shops were closed for August vacation. However a Metro stop one block from the hotel provides convenient access to other arrondisements and neighborhoods. The concierge desk was most helpful in making restaurant reservations, arranging a taxi to the airport, and answering questions. The room, though fairly small (this is Paris!), was comfortable and had many convenience features.
The hotel is marvelous...great location on the Left Bank, close to Musee Orsey. The restaurant attached to the hotel, L'Atelier is world class and a must visit! We will return to this property the next time we are in Paris no
Location, service Breakfast ok but not great eg bread average, pastries mediocre
The staff were all fabulously helpful.
The location was excellent- close to shopping on the Ledt Bank and also convenient to the Louvre, D'Orsey, and transportation around the city. Also, the staff was very helpful, assisting us obtaining dinner reservations and in helping us with language issues, etc..
A luxe hotel with a friendly staff. We had a tidy deluxe-room with a balcony and a clean bathroom; there was a various, tastefull breakfast and the hotel has a nice and comfortable bar, lounge- and tearoom. Next to our room there was a compressor/aircondition machine which gave a noisy sound during the night. The air in the room was musty(although the room was very clean).
Room (Junior Suite) was well appointed and comfortable, with an impressive view of Paris from the balcony.
Location was great - lots of shopping and we walked all over Paris from the hotel to visit galleries and the Montparnasse tower for the best view of the city. Quite noisy from building site and road opposite our 3rd floor room. We couldn't make the air con cool our room and did mention this to reception but they didn't seem to do anything.
Excellent front desk staff, also in the bar/restaurant although service there a bit on the slow side. Rooms well designed but like most Paris hotels a bit on the 'compact' side. See above - not much room in the room, although for a two night stopover perfectly acceptable. Great bathroom - unusually good Parisian plumbing!
Reception. The shower water escapes and floods the bathroom floor.
Good Location A bit pricey for what you get. Although a few of the hotel staff were very nice and helpful, for the most part they were not. Trying to get a cab at 5am was not fun
It was fine, just what we wanted. the lift is too small, but I appreciate the diffficulties of placing a new lift into a protected structure
great location. Great rooms. Unbeatable comfort.
Central friendly staff Food poor value for money meal at night expensive and not particuarly good
Staff; location price was much higher than suggested
Very quiet for the centre of the city yet very close to restaurants, cafes, gardens, culture, metro etc. Large windows that opened onto old buildings and a courtyard and all we could hear was singing from the nearby church The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Room was a bit small and the door was very difficult to unlock!
Overall was a great place but its ally was given a room that was approximently 250 sq feet. Enough place for one but NOT two. To change rooms it cost an extra $50.00/ day. And while we were there the room was rented out again with the same result occurring to another couple. So while it made have great qualities the hotel still scams the customer.
great hotel no complaints
Quiet and cozy room. Spacious and clean. Staff was very helpful at check in and the few times I requested suggestions for dining.
My boyfriend and I stayed here on our first trip to Paris. The location is amazing - a metro stop across the street, as well as the Louvre and Tuilleries gardens. The bed was large and comfortable, and our room was cleaned no matter how late in the day. The restaurant had a beautiful courtyard and good food (breakfast is not included). The room was a little dark, but the common areas of the hotel felt luxurious. Couldn't have asked for a better location, especially at the price we got. The room was a little dark - could have used more lamps and another mirror. A few nights there was noise from people either closing doors or shutters in the hotel. For some reason the front desk took about an hour to deliver us our bags despite multiple calls, but that was the only time we had an issue with service.
I had a great stay. Staff was very polite and helpful. Location was perfect, breakfast was delicious. Will come back again
Great location, excellent base for touring and exploring from. Park right across the street and metro station at front door. Staff very friendly - concierge service was excellent helping with decisions and arrangements. Enjoyed the bar in the evenings. Would likely stay there on any return trip.
The location was awesome! The noise and lack of an outlet in the bathroom, The room was also dated and could see years of wear and tear.
The position Frankly more or less everything! In serious need of modernisation!! Air cond not functioning in a great number of rooms, carpets hardly clean in common areas, state of the building itself, in the garden show the lack of maintenance. An overpriced, and way overrated hotel.
Location ... Location ... Location The courtyards are just gorgeous and what better place to enjoy breakfast or coffee or a drink. We loved our room, # 210. it had a loft with a bed. and a view of the courtyard. Breakfast was not included. I think the room price should include it !
Concierge was extremely helpful with planning day trips and use of metro. We travelled with subway and bus without any trouble as they give you maps and great instructions. Rooms were clean and had fresh crisp white linens. Housecoat and slippers to use spa. Courtyard lovely to sit in while waiting for wife to get ready. We had a two level suite on mainfloor over looking a very French courtyard/garden.
location of hotel was amazing, staff was great, concierge was great. everything was fine
Very comfortable, affordable Hotel with the luxury of the Spa. After long days of walking it was great to relax in the pool and spa! The room was very big as is the American way! Location was perfect.
The hotel is located central to many things to do in Paris. The building is quaint and pretty. It was warm weather for October and we were told there is no A.C. and no fans. The staff at the desk was unfriendly the maids and bellman helpful and friendly. Our room was extremely hot and located on floor one so if you opened the window for air you had the option of car exhaust, very noisey traffic or a pigeon joining you. I was confined in this room on 2nd day of trip with a broken pelvis from a fall on the sidewalk in Paris.I was very glad to be able to leave this very uncomfortable room and bathroom that smelled like a urinal. Despite many concerned calls from my husband to make arrangements for a car to take us to airport, the evening before no one knew anything about it and was irrated at our inquiries.
Very friendly staff especially the evening that we arrived. All spoke very good english and were very helpful and very friendly with my children Unfortunately there was no hot water in our apartment and the shower door had come off its hinges, which was not immediately apparent on our arrival. However, the staff resolved this by giving us access to the bathroom in the room next door. Not ideal but it worked out for us
Location, location, location.
Location - near the Louvre and short walk to the Arch de Triumph. Outside view from our room was to an interior courtyard - no view.
Location to major tourist sites very good Free internet access spacious room Poor reception area ,lack of assistance on arrival, room furniture in poor conditionlack of cleaning to room ie not vacumned & dirty glasses not replaced or cleaned
Hotel Brighton is extremely elegant and stylish. It is the ultimate address for a short, comfortable and realistically priced stay in Paris.
Location fantastic Would have been nice to have a bar in the hotel
Location was wonderful- right next to Louvre and Tuileries. Comfortable walking distance to all attractions. Front desk manager was quite rude and unobliging.
During the daytime it was good to be so central to major sightseeing areas. At night we felt a bit more isolated, with many of the shops etc closed.
The location overlooking the Tuilleries on Rue de Rivoli was excellent. The lounge was cosy. The person handling the Reception much of the time was consistently unpleasant, unhelpful and almost rude. One person handling the luggage would not reply or confirm that the Hotel would keep the luggage for sometime after check out.
location tiny room - tiny bathroom - no fridge in room
The friendliness of the front-desk staff. Excellent location. Lower price than other hotels in the area, but still too expensive considering the room size and amenities. The room was unbelievably small and the bathroom barely large enough to turn around in. No shower curtain.
Very good location, but extremely small rooms.
Excellent hotel at moderate price. The location could not have been better; from the hotel, we walked to the Louvre, Notre-Dame, the Seine, the Tuileries, Musse d' Orsay and more. Staff was very helpful. The Metro and bus stops were close at hand, as well. Great location for novice traveler. I would choose to stay there next time in Paris.
Location very noisy street outside
The pleasentness and helpfulness of the staff. The room size, although an earlier review did mention it. The bed in our room took up virtually all the space and did not allow much room to move around. This also reduced suitcase space. Not a good choice if one was clostrophobic.
Excellent location. The room was ridiculously small. The bathtub stopper did not work when I arrived, I reported it to the front desk and it still did not work when I left three days later.
The staff were very good, trying to help with hints, details in our stay, speaks several diferent languages. Room litlle small
The location - and the nice and friendly atmosphere
The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, both in the breakfast room and at the reception. Not a big problem but the hotel could do with more attention to small details - e.g. the bathroom door handle kept falling off, and there was no shower curtain.
Location and friendly staff
hotel location, staff behaviour
Great location, clean rooms , very polite staff. The room and the furniture could use a bit of renovation
We stayed in a room on the 6th floor which was (by Paris standards) rather big. The bed (double) could have been bigger. Location of the hotel is really superbe as it is situated within walking distance of Le Louvre and Place de la Concorde. Underground parking nearby (Parking "Les Pyramides"). Very friendly staff !
The location is fabulous right next to the Louvre, Eiffel tower, and the latin quarter as well as plenty of high end shopping areas. the lift is a bit small and breakfast was a little pricey but with so many cafes and restaurants around that was not really an issue
The location was great--right near the Jardin de Tuilerie and with easy access to a boulangerie, a coffee shop, a grocery store, the metro, and parking. Did not particularly like dealing with one of the three desk clerks encountered.
Location was superb. Room was large by Paris standards. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was a little boring and quite expensive.
The hotel is conveniently located near the Louvre with ready acccess to tour excursion buses and within walking distance of key toursit sites.
The location was excellent and the room was very nice. We liked the balcony and laarge bathroom. Staff was quite helpful. breakfast not very good for the cost.
The place was very clean and cosy, we have really been surprised by the quality of the service. Location is perferct for a city trip
Staff is very friendly. Balcony, large soaking tub, small refrigerator in room. Clean, updated rooms. Spa, room service, massage offered- spa can be reserved free of charge. Convenient cafe off of lobby that offers an inexpensive, simple breakfast and drinks. Room smelled like smoke even though the hotel is non-smoking. Although the spa looks beautiful, it was heavily chlorinated and burned both of our eyes really badly- we couldn't even stay in the entire hour and didn't reserve another evening like we had planned.
The hotel is one block away from Museum D' Osay. The room has very nice design features, with continous painting wall and ceiling, giving a sense of historical, cultral and philosophical layer of the boutique comfort.
Excellent location, original design Design is grate but decoration sometimes made sloppy (carpet in elevator, doorknobs in wrong places, etc.)
staff very helpful and accommodating. great location and walking proximity to interesting areas and metro. modern, clean, stylish hotel room. I would like to see a magnifying makup mirror and better lighting in the bathrooms. I note that many hotels do not provide this and it should be standard installation.
exelent location, beautiful rooms, uniqe desine, good breakfast and good and attentive service rooms a little small, but quite comptable any way.
central position Room too small and very expensive.
hotel boutique, attaccato al musee d'orsay, camere accoglienti design.
Great location, design, confortable and quiet rooms. Free WIFI.
the location and room decor the room was extremely small, even for european standards and the plumbing was not working consistantly.
Excellent location and friendly staff. Interesting design (Lacroix) of the hotel tho feels bit as if done 'too quickly'.. Too expensive breakfast (20 eur per person) in comparison for its quality. No parking if having a car.
lovely atmosphere and helpful staff rooms are very small and the hotel does feel slightly worn but it is charming
convienent, very helpful staff, very comfortable
Excellant Location for Paris sightseeing, walk to most sites easily, very safe. Staff makes you feel pampered and the night staff is very helpful with local spots to dine, hear music, etc. Rooms are charming and very clean. Great especially for women traveling alone as they look out for you with special care and advice. Breakfast is pricey and I had been told was included. When I arrived, they said no, it is not. I asked if they would charge for breakfast if I just had coffee, I was told no, go ahead and have coffee. They then charged 4 Euros for each coffee, which adds up. This should have been clearly stated upfront when charges apply. Some may find rooms too small.
Room was reasonable size for Paris and had individual charm with wooden ceiling beams and luxurious fabrics/bedding. Well stocked mini bar and good choice of snacks at a supplement. Bathroom small but had everything we needed and nice to have bathrobes. We used hotel's transport from Paris Nord station but would not recommend, as we realised on return journey it was double price of a normal taxi! Hotel recommended a restaurant - was ok but served very dull traditional French food. Did not get to meet Joseph the actual concierge so don't know if he is as helpful as other guests say.
ATmostpheric, very romantic and on a quiet street in the heart of the St Germaine de Pres. I will return....
Small, intimate hotel in an excellent location. The building is old and full of quirks and character. The rooms are very updated and comfortable. The staff was excellent. Regardless of who you spoke with, they were all friendly, helpful and informative.
Superb service. Characterful/authentic/French. Great area of Paris. Quiet. Excellent breakfast. No
convenient location; pleasant, attentive staff also with making booking and in breakfast room; pick up and delivery service to airport/trainstation; english papers and ambience of lobby/sitting room. breakfast is good value for money, while the hotel is a bit expensive for what you get the rooms are very small and not able to handle space for 2 suitcases, but we knew that from 4 years ago and we still came back for 3 nights. don't know if we could stay for a week, too cramped. room 103 was better than the room we had 4 years ago
Good location. rooms small like many Paris hotels. Staff helpful no complaints.
Staff, location, and charm....the hotel was lovely, beds were clean and comfortable, rooms were small, but fine. Everyone was so helpful and kind. It was so nice to have free computer access. Didn't like having children staying there as it made it very noisy above our heads. Loved open windows, yet feel the warm weather would be uncomfortable without air conditioning.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Great location. It seems as if the hotel hasn't been updated since the 1940's. The entire facility could use a facelift. A 2 star facilities with a 4 star staff.
Hotel is great. Needs some renovation. Staff very friendly, especially a bartender named Raphael. This boy is so inviting that he will continue to attract more custumers to the Normandy. A suggestion: Room service is poor and the hotel rely on an outside caterer which can be very inconveniencing when a guest needs to dine at a late hour.
Great location, wifi worked excellent, huge bathroom, decent size room, cheap for the location. Everything in the room was old and worn out. Windows leaked air terribly, heat was not turned on when we arrived, took a while to warm up the room. Hair dryer looked like something about 50 years old, barely any air coming out, sinks were cracked and one of them did not drain properly.
We just checked out yesterday. The location was perfect. The staff speaks fluent English and will happily give directions. They allowed us to keep our luggage there before check-in time so we could wander around. We lost our room key somewhere and they made us a new one, no questions asked and no extra charge. The room included shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion, mini fridge, hair dryer and safe. Shower, sink, toilet, TV, bed, WiFi, everything was fine. The room temperature stayed very comfortable. The windows open to the street, so you get a perfect view for people watching. It's super close to the Louvre! Plenty of shopping and dining nearby. We were able to walk most of our trip. I felt safe in the room and the surrounding streets. I'd stay here again! The hair dryer was very, very weak and old, however it got the job done. It was like a hose coming out of the wall. If I did it again, I'd still choose to leave mine at home and use the hotel's. It smelled like cigarettes, but that wasn't a huge deal. Everyone in Europe smokes, so you're going to smell like it regardless. It's not super fancy, but it was perfect for what we needed. The decor is very Napoleonic, maybe even a little gaudy, but I thought it was neat. Kind of a Wes Anderson feel. It was clean. Just old. We spend very little time in the hotel room anyway. There is a lot of street noise, but with the windows shut, it blocks out most (except for the horns, but I got used to it!). I'm a light sleeper and didn't have trouble sleeping.
1. Great location: close to Louvre, metro, and places to eat. Great for being able to explore many parts of Paris by walking or taking the close metro line. The nearby Metro stop can also take you to the train station quickly which is very helpful. 2. Staff: Very kind and helpful, patient, understanding, and are very knowledgable. They made out first stay in Paris much better. 3. Overall: Good hotel for a trip to Paris if you want to see a lot in a short time due to location. Also, if you are unfamiliar with Paris, the staff are very good and will help you find your way around, buy tickets to shows, get to museums, find places to eat, and do anything else you want to do in such a wonderful city. Really enjoyed my stay, besides the room (Rooms are clean though). 1. Misleading: I'm sure the hotel was nice, many years ago. The entrance and lobby are actually quite nice (as you can see by the pictures), but the rooms are literally falling apart. 2. Broken faucet (would not drain water), Broken shower (the water sprayer would not stay up high enough, so unless you are 4ft tall or a small child showering is a difficult task resulting in a bathroom filled with water, Broken door (bathroom door would not close, annoying if staying with family) 3. Room: Hot (no air conditioning), very old looking (and smelling) 4. 4 stars or 2 stars?: The hotel is advertised as 4 stars (outside the hotel you can also see 4 bright shining stars) but should be 2 stars until the facilities are improved. However, with such a great location and service, I can see how it was 4 stars. Years later, It is 2 (maybe 3 if you get a nice room). After renovation this hotel will be worthy of 4 stars and will be the perfect hotel for a leisure or business trip to Paris.
I enjoyed the breakfast as well as the access to the areas close by. The hotel is in need of multiple repairs, or at least finish the ones in the guests rooms. My room had multiple hole and cracks in the wall, the bathroom had a shower curtain pulled out of the tile as well.
The people were great, the rooms were quaint, The bar was pretty You can not beat their location 40 steps to the Louvre'. The bed was uncomfortable and small. The bar was expensive, The rooms need over hauling, wall paper peeling from the walls, the paint had not been touched in years and the shower door and towel holders were falling off the walls.
When I checked in they were great. Friendly, helpful, quick, and responsive. Good location, and great neighbourhood. The room was outdated but a great size, and bathroom a good size. I had a lot of storage space and free wifi is always a plus. Once I checked in, I found BOTH lock boxes in my room didn't work. There was a hole in the wall where the AC tube went, meaning it never got really properly cold. I asked for cutlery one morning and the room service phone attendant hung up on me, and concierge told me to get it myself.
The location I staid at this hotel in 1981. Today the place llks exactly the same. Old furniture!!! Need to remove old wallpaper!! Hotel has 4 stars due tothe lication Will not staythere again
Staff are nice. Location is excellent. Exterior of the building is nice. Aside from the lobby, the interior of the building needs an update. No A/C and the high temperatures during my stay were in the mid 80s. There should have been a fan in the room.
The hotel was very clean and in a great location. The staff was very quick to address any complaints Old and badly in need of a refurbishment. First room we were in had peeling wall paper and extremely beat up carpets. Second room was an improvement but still outdated.
Location, service, room
