Perfect location for tourists Good for the price I wish they had a shuttle from/to Heathrow
I liked the location, and the clean, bright room that had good bathroom space and a reasonable work surface. Similarly priced rooms in London are often very cramped and/or quite worn down. a really nice (and necessary, in our case) feature of the room is the sliding solid wood shutters that completely seal off outside light. This was my third or fourth stay at the sph. The weatherstripping around the windows was completely shot and ineffective, so if we had the shutters open, a powerful draft whipped through the room. There was a cold snap in London at the time, so the result was that we couldn't open the shutters and curtains to enjoy daylight. Also, as our room was over The Strand, it was very noisy at night. However, I would definitely stay again
nothing very bad customer services ,rooms are very small,no air condition ,room was very hot ,this hotel not recommended at all ,i will never come back to this hotel at all .
One of the best locations in London for Tourists. Small rooms, not many amenities.
Great location, easy check-in. Bar selection limited and drinks overpriced. Bellman also inflated cost of Healthrow Express and cab to Paddington Station in an effort to sell car service to Heathrow.
Friendly courteous staff and very clean hotel. The walking area around the bed is a little tight.
Good location but little loud at night. Extreamly uncomfortable and small bed and window without any view. Just location .
This is the best location in London, steps from Covent Garden, an easy walk across the Waterloo Bridge, convenient to theaters. Thanks to recent renovations, rooms are contemporary and comfortable; staff is friendly and helpful. I have been staying here off and on for more than 25 years! The food continues to be marginal at best, and not a good value for the money. Fortunately, there are many good and reasonably-priced restaurants nearby.
Excellent location, very friendly staff, nice clean rooms.
This hotel is in the heart of London. If you stay here you are close to everything. I was only in London for 2 days and wanted a Hotel that I would spend minimal time on travel getting to London's main attractions. If you are on a budget this hotel is one of the best available. If is a bit dated but I was in London to see the sights so I did not need my hotel to be state of the art. If you are traveling in the summer be aware that this hotel has no air conditioning. At least the room I stayed in had none.
The hotel was centrally located right near the Waterloo bridge, literally just steps away from the London Eye. Also conveniently located near the Covent Garden tube stop, making it very easy to travel between places throughout London and still be close to the hotel to recover. The room was nice, smaller than expected but still met my stay needs. Complementary prosecco wine and money to use at their restaurants is a bonus if booked directly with them. Take the £12 breakfast when you check in. It gets expensive if you feel like having breakfast at the hotel for several days at a time. The cost will cover you for your whole stay.
despite being over motor court, room was very quiet, everything was well designed, staff was extremely helpful, bathroom was tremendous, restaurant was great. Very little (if anything) to actually complain about. Top-notch. gym facilities were modest as was pool, but not a terribly big deal as most hotel gyms have a limited offer.
Spectacular in every way Not being able to stay longer
very luxurious hotel in a good location of London. definately would go back to the hotel at my next visit. not much..
What's not to like! Everything was outstanding! The hotel staff couldn't be more friendly, anything you needed they got it for you! Just wish it wasn't so pricey otherwise we would go more often!
The Savoy stay was one of the most exceptional stays that I have had -- extraordinary from the moment the taxi door opened. I needed a rest and wanted to visit London, and the Savoy was worth every penny. Location is perfect. Food and service were outstanding -- didn't feel the need to leave for an outside restaurant. Breakfast, high tea and dinners were delicious. High Tea was conceivably the best I have every experienced. Room was like a cocoon, and their baths are legendary. Will be back soon for another break. I was disappointed that the spa and pool were closed for renovation.
A very modern hotel in a fantastic central location. The room was small but spotlessly clean and very comfortable. No coffee/tea making facilities in the room. Refused entry to the Light Bar because we hadn't booked - since when did you have to book to have a drink in a bar? This also meant we couldn't actually use the vouchers for the complimentary cocktails!
This hotel is in the best location for theater, restaurants, shopping and art. We were two couples and had the best time. Everything was perfect
Great location. Nice hotel. Concierge always has solid recommendations. Good service. Love the room. Everything is modern with a lot of little touches. USB phone charger at the bed, Bluetooth for your music. I've been here 3 or 4 times and will go back! Currently remodeling. Shower leaked ....
The staff were A1 and very helpful and the manager Jose was very proffesional Maybe a little too dark in the lift and l could not see the buttons to push
the restaurant concept, staff and service. breakfast - not clear information about the prices and poor value for money regarding breakfast. the films in the elevator - freeky.
A different experience. The staff greeted me by my first name which I like a lot. Interior design is cool, I loved candles in the bathroom. Couldn't log on to the Internet with my iPad although I was charged the Internet service - which was advertised as free upon booking :-(
Design, city center location and friendly professional staff Internet connection ( slow ), airco on rooms did not work well
Service and the personal very nice food very good Aurel & Tabita Musca Will be nice that in price of the hotel to be include free breakfast
Good location, friendly staff, stylish rooms
Location, Design hotel Food is always getting less and less ( before there was steak, there was asian boxes ... ).
I am a Global Member; this is the reason I continue to stay at this gorgeous hotel in a city full of gorgeous hotels.
Unable to open windows and air conditioning is noisy and suffocating.
the quality of the beds I would prefer a buffet breakfast
great staff and great breakfast, no buffet
All of the staff were alert and looking for an opportunity to help. Excellent service.
The situation of the restaraunt above the bar made it a very noisy experience
Everything was great, a bit expensive but that's central London. Nice Bar and pool. There was a cold draft coming from the old windows and the heat did not really heat the room. However, when we brought this to the attention of staff they came up within 5 minutes with an electric heater, and the next day called to make sure everything was OK. Breakfast could be included in the high cost of the room.
Staff were very helpful and the hotel was certainly central - paid for a mid range room which was really quite small with no view would hate to see the standard size Room size
Clean room, stylish lounge, excellent bathroom suite Felt a little expensive as did not include breakfast
It's location, being within short walking distance of most of the interesting places in London Arriving by car stopping at a bus stop in front of the hotel to get the luggage out of the car. The attendants were very prompt though.
Attention of staff is the best I have experienced in London. Parking of car. Ambience. Decor. Only the price!!
Everything about this stay was great. The room was beautiful and clean, the bathroom was spacious with lots of shelf space for our stuff. the staff was wonderful. the location is ideal, and they had a big lounge for guests. It's expensive but worth it.
Location is excellent - very convenient for Covent Garden and transport links. Most of our destinations were within a 10 minute walk. Our room was on the inner courtyard so quiet and peaceful. We had been concerned that the bathroom might prove a problem ( from reading earlier reviews) but although the door is frosted glass, it was not possible to view the occupant from the bed. We enjoyed a full breakfast on both mornings without any delay in service. All colleagues were keen to ensure that every detail ran smoothly. We did n't expect a bath in the bathroom( only a shower) so were delighted at the opportunity for a soak before our evening out. The umbrella came in handy for the unexpected shower on the first night out. We used the spa on the first evening- a little disappointed at the state of decoration. Nearly slipped on the floor when I stepped of the matting. Just to clarify that the spa is run by another company.
Friendly, efficient and professional staff! A very minor point. The music in the restaurant at breakfast was rather funereal and repetetive.
Perfect location for shopping and theater in London. Excellent breakfast in a beautiful ballroom. Nice champagne bar for a drink before dinner. Some rooms are very small and hsave no heating in the bathroom.
Excellent location just off the Strand. Friendly and helpful staff, and great breakfast included in my stay. Rooms are a little small. Also not much of an open lounge area for waiting around or hanging out, but tight space is to be expected for the location.
We traveled in from Heathrow and the hotel was close to the underground stop. Easy walking distance to all major landmarks. Staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast in the morning was awesome. the 110 outlet in our room had a plug broken into it making it unusable.
lack of attention to detail.
Excellent location, friendly staff, good size of the room. Breakfast was very good. Room orientation towards the internal court, the view from the window was completely disturbed by the presence of metallic plate.
it is a beautiful hotel with excellent room facilities. there was a power cut within the hotel there was not an acceptable contingency plan to overcome the problems that were encounted, hence the hotel rating.
The comfort was a feature with a very unusual but welcoming room design. The staff were all helpful and friendly
helpfulness of staff
The wait time for everything was exceedingly slow. A food order could take over 90 min for delivery. The rooms were not sound proof you could here every person who walked by and what they were saying. The staff were not trained for a hotel of that price. The breakfast selection was mediocre and the same everyday for the 9 days I was there. The hotels decor is old and outdated. It was difficult to even have a bottle of water delivered. The food was less and average.
restaurant - quality of food and service outstanding . Staff throughout hotel attentive and helpful .
The hotel was elegant without being pretentious. The entire staff, really everyone, were: friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, intelligent, observant and consistently went above expectations. They helped us feel so at home in a new city. The location at Trafalgar Square/Charing Cross was ideal, full access to the city and all of its charms. The room cooler had a weak seal and kept heating rather than cooling if the door wasn't carefully closed. There was minimal storage space for clothing...tiny closet and no drawer space.
The hotel had just the perfect location for us, situated as it was within a 10-minute walk of Leicester Square, Soho, Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery, St Martins-in-the-Field, Covent Garden, The Strand, and so much more. Our room was on the 3rd floor, directly above the entrance to Charing Cross Station and practically overlooking Trafalgar Square. Amazingly, we could hardly ever hear a sound from outside! The windows had great soundproofing, I guess. The only sounds that appeared to get through were when the street musicians played amplified guitars at night, and they seemed to stop at a decent hour so it wasn't all that disruptive. Staff were always friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable with all modern conveniences including a soothing rainwater shower with plenty of hot water. The complimentary minibar was a nice surprise, too.
The greeting on reception The restaurant facility, the food was excellent the service was very badly organised
The staff were very polite and friendly and the candles and decorations around the hotel were beautiful giving it a romantic atmosphere. The bed and room were very comfortable. Our room was next to a side street with trucks arriving very early with deliveries and it was noisy! And our phone rang every 30 minutes from around 8am (we were too tired to figure out why!) And the attendant walked into our room at around 9am even though we had locked the door and put the latch on.
Hotel position excellent Room reasonably quiet, comfortable bed Ordered newspaper not delivered. No verbal explanation given after fire alarm evacuation at 06.00. Poor understanding of English shown by some reception staff.
Fantasic offer of an upgrade to a junior suite for just £35 incl bottle of wine and a great room with lots of extra space. Made the stay even more enjoyable. Superb location, friendly staff 10/10 :)
Wonderful location. No complaints. Would stay again or recommend to others.
The staff are friendly helpful and show a wide variation of knowledge of the city hotel is clean and the candles in the evening are a nice touch Xmas tree lovely.
Near many tourist attractions and two Tube stations, the hotel is in a great spot. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They even let me check into my room when I arrived from my early flight at 9am! The rooms were nice and clean, breakfast was great too.
The location is excellent, being right above Charring Cross Station and within walking distance to all the West End theatres. The hotel itself is very nice and our room was great. Breakfast was also nice, with gluten-free bread offered to my girlfriend. Upon arrival at 1.45 pm we were offered an upgrade to a junior suite for an extra 50 pounds. We accepted but wanted to check in straight away as we had a theatre show at 3.30 pm. Reception said the room would be ready in 10 mins. We finally got into the room at 2.45 - unacceptable! The bottle of wine that was offered upon the upgrade was also not delivered until later I asked about it. Given we were in a hurry to get ready and get to the show I didn't have time to make a big deal of it. When asked we were given a late checkout, 1pm instead of 12, which was something I guess. But I definitely got the impression the reception staff did not care at all about the customer and were merely chasing extra dollars from the customer.
Great location, nice staffs, Room was close to next building. Sometimes the card key didnt work.
friendly staff, good atmosphere the lack of digital tv
Our room was excellent - plenty of room - which was a welcome surprise. The staff was very accommodating. Two blocks walk to Covent Garden. Plenty of restaurants nearby, and a Starbucks right across the street.
All staff very helpful.
Friendly, helpful, efficient staff. Clean, smart, quiet room. Convenient central location, near Covent Garden and Holbourne tube station. Pleasant, safe hotel. No bad points. We would have eaten in the hotel one evening, but that evening the restaurant was unavailable and the bar did not have suitable gluten-free options, so we ate elsewhere.
Good location for Covent Garden, good customer service. N/A
Very convenient to conference location next door. Close proximity to tube and to Convent Garden. Tired interior of hotel overall and rooms
Location Room cleaning no free wirless area...
Great location close to Covent Garden, Theatre Land, resturants and coffee shops. The staff were very corteous. The bed was very hard.
High standard of cleanliness. lovely spa facility. great location Hard pillows
location the cold bar - due to a long day out we decided to have an evening at the hotel bar but it was so cold I had to go and get my coat !!
The location of this hotel is great. We were able to walk to so many sites from the hotel. We also liked that there were two Underground stations nearby. That made it convenient getting to and from the airport without taking a car service. The room was nice, and the staff at the front desk was very friendly. We also like the option to include breakfast with our stay. The housekeeping each day was just okay. Some days they didn't give us more than one wash cloth (there were two of us) and other days they left the windows open in our room. We were also disappointed with the breakfast each day. We would've like the buffet to include a few more options for the price. On the mornings that we ordered breakfast from the kitchen, it was often slow and the service was not that great. Other than those minor things, we enjoyed our stay at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Mercer Street.
Location was excellent, it is about 30 footsteps from the hotel till the one of theatres. view from the window was poor, smell in the room.
Great Location with helpful staff breakfast not included, elevator system was a problem and bathroom wasn´t very clear.
Central Posiition to visit London Very small Bedroom
location was great....charming hotel...and very comfortable room
Hotel location is key for seeing all theatre; either side of the Thames.
The location was perfect - central to tons to see and do in London. I was nervous about noise from the street, but didn't have any major problems. The staff is friendly and courteous, everything was clean and modern, and their restaurant and bar were good. I was skeptical when booking the hotel online because of the decor (pink and green crushed velvet, really?!) but the questionable interior design didn't take much away from the fact that the hotel was clean and modern. I did end up upgrading to a king deluxe as I was worried about the size, so that helped (and the bathroom was spacious and beautiful). If you can get past the very ugly decor and an overpowering cologne-like smell that they pump into the lobby, this is a fabulous hotel.
The Hotel staff we very friendly and helpful. I found the price of the Hotel fair considering the style and location. Howvever I feel the Hotel could benefit from being updated. Also i found the gym facilities disappointing.
Polite and helpful staff and location close to where I was going out I could not at first work the lift nor put the lights on in my room because I did not know I had to put my room card in the slot. The sign in the lift is not noticeable enogh and n arrival I went up and down a few times before giving up and using the stairs. Next time I wil know.
Just the most fantastic central position - easy to walk Covent Garden, Piccadilly, Regent St room was starting to look a bit tired furnishings wisw
great city centre location friendly staff lovely room
Location superb! The hotel is tired and old. My room was small, tatty and very cold (wind blowing in through the old wood framed windows). I won't stay here again.
Nice room, good tv, generous tea/coffee + bottle of water, bathroom good. Ground floor room with noisy people passing by
The hotel was clean and comfortable and very quiet - remarkably so for a central London location. It is ideally situated for theatre-going. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I will certainly return to The Fielding for my next trip. I'm not now sure if the booking page mentioned that there is no lift. The stairs are narrow and could be a problem for someone with impaired mobility; but I was asked if I needed a hand with my bags so help is available. I had booked a superior room which was described as 'spacious'. I would certainly argue with this as far as the room was concerned but the en-suite WAS a good size (which is quite rare) and very nicely done - but the fan did not work.
The quietness of the rooms in a central London (Theatreland) location. Nothing comes to mind
Its very convenient central London location No fridge in the room. No bath tub (only shower).
The location was perfect for The Royal Opera House, other theatres nearby and Covent Garden.
the staff@the fielding hotel were exceptional and catered for all my requests,no matter what time of day/night it was.location is great, right on the cusp of covent garden and will definitely arrange future accomodation@the fielding hotel
Fantastic location for a visit to the Royal Opera House, with friendly and helpful front desk staff. There was nothing not to like, but a lift would have been nice!
location, friendly staff The rooms and furnishing could be updated
location to covent garden, theatres and the lack of traffic noise room was a little on the small side
Excellant location in between bow stret and drury lane At £168 for the night a bit expensive due to no breakfast at hotel. But it was excellent location
The location of this hotel was very convenient as you could access the city by foot or by rail very easily. It was easy to get in and out. There was an employee at the front desk at all hours of the day that was able and willing to help. They were very flexible with us allowing us to check in early. Overall, good value for what we paid. My girlfriend and I did not sleep extremely well there due to the lack of AC during the summer when it was 75 degrees Fahrenheit outside and along with the lack of support in the bed. The bed looks like it is nice and fluffy but when you sit down on it, it sank drastically.
