Worst service
Prós: Regret choosing it Ended up missing a business deal. as no one showed up at the ticket counter. Airline agents were on Strike due to no payment of wages. Called the customer service line and it seemed like the call went through and I got hangedup on multiple time and had to find an ulternative route to my final destinations, which was the next day. Will never recommend the airline and it made me doubt book an international trip through kayak. Or its affiliates as there weren't very helpful with options for rebooking.
Contras: No one showed up at the ticket counter. Worst service.

Terrible experience and I will never fly this airl
Prós: Nothing at all and please do not represent this airline again. Please if I request this airline by mistake, do not book it for me.
Contras: The flight was delayed for at least 5 hours, No Information about the delay was provided. My luggage was lost between Lagos and Port Harcourt during my flight to Nigeria and has not been found even as I returned to NY. I had one clothe on my back and nothing else. Then on my arrival at JFK, my 3 pieces of luggage did not arrive. They promised to contact me on Monday January 1st, but I have not heard from them. In summary: 1) lost one luggage between Lagos and PH and has not been found 2) Arrived JFK and my 3 pieces of baggage did not arrive with me.

Didn't inform us about 3-hour delay
Contras: The flight from Douala to Lagos delayed for three hours - which can happen on any airline - but the staff didn't bother telling us at check in. It's only when I arrived at the boarding gate and found that there were no staff there that I checked my boarding pass and realized the 3-hour delay. No updates as we were waiting, either. Delays happen, but at least keep the passengers informed!

I will NEVER do this again
Prós: I liked nothing
Contras: The flight was due to take off at 11:30pm. We were gathered at 9:30pm to a waiting area with no a/c or sitting space for all the passengers. I stood until 1am for the plane to be towed to the departure gate. Once on the plane my selected seat 23A did not recline. I was told by the stewardess it was an emergency seat. I insisted that was no the reason. She took more than 30 minutes to conclude the matter. If it had not have been for the other passenger seated who swapped seats with me it would have been a horrible 10.45hrs. The 1st meal provided on the flight was of poor quality. The rice had a burnt taste & chicken was soggy. I requested an extra soda the times from the same stewardess who stated the seat couldn't recline. on the third time she took 10 more to provide me with a soda can, which had a extended part. Indicating that the can had taken a hard fall. Instead of saying anything else. I accepted the soda. I will NEVER fly with this airline again. And right will I recommend it to anyone I know.

Arik Air is terrible
Prós: I liked very little. The food wasn't horrible and I liked that they provided us with blankets.
Contras: My flight was delayed about two hours. We were not informed about the reason for the delay, the airline is obviously extremely unorganized. Arik employees were clueless, barely helpful, and straight rude at times. We weren't even offered a food voucher or even a cup of water. Let's not even get started with the literally the worst entertainment system in the world of airlines. The screens were blank the whole 10 hour flight. Almost every person I know that has flown with Arik has experienced ridiculous delays and even unannounced cancellations. Not to mention the cockroach that was on my second flight from Lagos to Accra. I have no idea how this airline is surviving with this lack of training, professionalism, and customer service. I will never fly with Arik again.

AVOID THIS AILINE IF YOU HAVE AN IMPORTANT DEADLIN
Contras: Terrible customer service. Flight changes without any notice. Please avoid this airline if you have an important deadline to meet. They will cancel and change flights without any notice until the flight is full. They will never fly at 80% capacity. All seats has to be filled before they fly.

Prós: This is the best crew that I have encountered in many years of travelling.
Contras: The first leg of my return flight (Libreville to Lagos) was cancelled 3 times and I eventually had to purchase another return ticket with another airline for the first leg of my trip. When the flight was cancelled, the airline kept asking me to find friends or family to stay with. It took >4 hours for them to provide me a hotel and I did not get to the hotel until 12:30am when my flight had been scheduled for 4pm the previous day and cancelled at 8pm. The airline also told me that I would have to pay for my own food and that they would cover breakfast, which they thought might come with the room.

Contras: The food was not good, it may have been the worst airline food I have had in many years of traveling. There is very little diversity in the food provided and the muffins that were served many times throughout the flight were dry and had little flavour.

Flight Cancelled
Prós: Nothing. No flight.
Contras: Showed up three hours aheqd of departure time. By time of departure, NO Arik staff were on the scene. One hour after scheduled departure, a brave Arik staff member informed us the flight was cancelled for lack of fuel. We were rebooked for Tuesday, 72 hours later! No provisions were made for most passengers. Terrible. Now how to get a refund??

One of the worst flying experiences..
Prós: The process of making the reservation online seemed to work reasonably well.
Contras: An airline which fails to meet it scheduled commitments because of lack of fuel is not really inspiring. Information was not given out when one delay after another was announced. A flight that should have taken no more than 4 hours took more than 14 hours.

Accra - Lagos
Prós: Flight was on-time. The crew managed to serve a snack even though the flight lasted just 45 minutes.
Contras: Many of the seats are patched up with duct tape.

Contras: You have to request water. They only bring drinks by during meals so if you are used to a drink cart coming several times on international flights, please be warned. Even a simple request (Can I have some warm water?) gets a 3 minute conversation, with my heavy American and his Nigerian accents, misunderstanding is bound to ensue because the flight attendant is giving you a soliloquy about what he needs to do to fulfill your request. Now if you know how noisy a cabin can get, why can't it be a yes or no answer. Now, have you had an international flight that does not have a movie, radio, some type of entertainment? The flight is over 10 hours from Lagos to JFK but nothing to occupy your time, especially when they tell you that you cannot use electronic devices, even in airplane mode for the entire flight. You have got to be kidding me. There were other issue I had, (a full flight with only two working lavatories, general lack of customer service, etc.) but I'm going to stop here.

Prós: The flight crew ran out of chicken meals. Now they were serving passengers beef meals. These passengers wanted chicken meals!! One of the latrine was NOT working therefore it was lock and out of used on the flight. All the DAMN profit the airport makes , they should have fixed the latrine before putting the flighti in to service!! The flight crew serve the meals with OUT gloves but they wore gloves when they collected the empty tray. The flight crew should wear gloves when serving and collecting trays. The LOUNGE at Lagos, Nigeria where lay over passengers are put should have the PRICE LIST FOR THE REFRESHMENTS and other snacks posted on the wall for all to see so as to avoid price hick/corruption/ stealing.

Terrible Expererience. Never fly this airline
Prós: There was nothing that I liked about this airline. Terrible experience overall.
Contras: The food was unrecognizeable. One of our family members received some sort of meat on his portion, which was questionable considering no one else got meat. When going to the bathroom, we noticed that the flight attendants were filling the water bottles up with sink water. This is inexcusable. When traveling to other countries we stick to bottled water because the tap water can make you sick. Someone in our party spent the next day I'll because of it. The cleanliness of the flight was unacceptable. There were drink stains on all of the seat trays. Some chairs went back further than others because they were broken. The flight was freezing. Which I recognize flights normally are, but this flight had no blankets to accommodate patrons. Our flight was delayed as most everyone mentioned for two hours. There was never an explanation as to why the aircraft arrived late. I cannot imagine that this airline is up to code with any of their aircrafts.

Prós: This airline needs to improve their customer service, work on their delay, and need to help passengers that are in Transit in Nigeria, Lagos airport one of the horrible airport in the world....
Contras: This airline is one of the horrible airline I have ever seen. Never in my life think about this flight..... food is disgusting, they left us in Transit for 7 hours, no meal voucher check or hotel for Transit passenger.... don't recommend for everyone.

Arik almost always cancels it's flight for another
Prós: Direct flight to NY when the flight eventually took off..if you are going to book with Arik, just book with the expectation that the flight will be rescheduled.
Contras: All my experiences including this one, the flight was cancelled , that would be bad enough but you're never informed and therefore have to get to the airport only to learn the departure has been rescheduled. No apology.

Contras: air circulation was poor. A/C was not cold enough during entire flight and took long to even start working. tray tables in exit rows were removed or nailed to not come down. food trays had to rest on our laps to eat. i did not appreciate the flight attendant's explanation that there are no trays because it blocks the exit row. as a worldwide airline business frequent traveler for last 20 yrs, this was 1st time I have seen tray tables in exit rows removed or nailed up. a few seats in business class were wrapped in tape. two seats had signs taped to seat backs saying do not sit here. this made business class appear very tacky. no entertainment on the inflight monitors. Why have them installed if they are not working?

Prós: The flight is more affordable than other options, which is great. I also appreciate that Arik helps with the shuttle services from the local to international airport.
Contras: The flight was over two hours delayed, which obviously impact my arrival time. The flight attendant that attended to me throughout the flight did her job but was not very pleasant.

The plane was not in good condition.
Prós: The plane was in poor condition. Seat handles were taped up and most of the televisions in front of your seat did not work. I had to move from my seat to another seat to find a working TV. I thought the crew was sweet. Outside of that the plane was in horrible condition compared to U.S. airplanes.

It could have been worse
Prós: My baggage and I completed the flight intact.
Contras: Everyone had seat numbers, but unlike the onward flight (below), there was confusion as to whether those seat numbers meant anything. At first, people would sit in their seats, and then the crew said it was open boarding. People would come on board and then want their seats, but others would claim that it was open. The crew completely mismanaged the process.

It could have been worse
Prós: My baggage and I completed the flight intact. That is about the only good thing that can be said.
Contras: Bad communications from Arik while in transit and waiting to board. Unclear when and where to board. Boarded more than an hour late. Bad management of the boarding line. Perfume and other items bought in duty free were confiscated. No inflight entertainment. Food sub-par.

Arik Always delayed
Prós: All the Arik team seem to know what's going on from the ground staff to the plane crew. This makes one more confident in the staff.
Contras: This airline is always delayed. One has to plan for this if you ever travel with Arik Air. The crew try hard to handle the comments from the travelers. I suggest they sell additional sandwiches and drinks as the current food is too sMall and always the same. I would love a real drink on that late flight.

Prós: Nothing at all,they kept rescheduling every hour,the staff didn't even have the curtesy to inform us of those changes unless they were confronted about the horrible delays,the make things short,it was a very bad experience

Late flight late luggage
Contras: The flight was delayed by an hour, and no apology was given. Because of the time change I missed dinner and no food other than a muffin was given. They also lost my bags which were on the Tarmac before I went. They also didn't allow any electronics during the flight. I spent the flight staring at the seat in front of me bored senseless. Heed this warning: don't ever fly arik air.
