Enjoyed our store and appreciated the beautiful court yard in the hotel as well as the complimentary breakfast. Having stayed at multiple hotels in London, this one was the best value
Our room had a balcony overlooking the impressive courtyard and was well equipped and prepared. Check in and out was effortless and staff were friendly and well informed.
Very attentive and friendly staff. Great restaurants and Spa inside the hotel. Spacious and well equiped rooms. Great location close to Victoria station (ideal when you fly into Gatwick), in walking disctance from the tube, Westminster, St. James' park and Buckingham palace. First room we were given (#352) had a lot of noise from the subway passing underneath, despite the fact that we had explicitly asked for a quiet room! From the second night on we got a very quiet room.
This hotel offers a welcome change from the big American chain hotels. Although it is part of an Indian chain, it has managed to preserve an old world charm. The Christmas tree in the lobby along with all the comfy couches and the Elle lovely courtyard made it feel very cozy and comfortable. The bathrooms could be a bit bigger but this seems to be a common problem with London hotels in general.
The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was sumptuous The rooms were bit small
Location location location staff was well I tune with my needs (where to go what to do) and they were very attentive to making my stay comfortable
Hotel staff was very friendly , checking in and out was very easy
Wonderful location. Room was not clean, bathroom had mold on walls, stains on carpet. Too noisy, could clearly hear people on room above walking & using restroom.
Location, near tube station and yet accessable to Westminister, Buckingham Palace, London Eye and other tourist sights on foot.Room was comfortable and spacious. Bathroom could do with updating. No complaints
we'll be back- fantaastic position- best London hotel we have stayed in. being asked to pay for internet access
The hotel was sold out so the room they gave us through Kayak was not so good, a bit tarnished and with warning signs everywhere, We stayed in better rooms in this hotel in the past. They used to give us welcome notes and a fruit basket to thank us for coming back But, this time, no note, not a great room, as if they were indifferent because we had booked through Kayak (with which they are not partner). It was not possible to change for a better room for 4 days. Then, a wonderful attendant, Adriana moved us to a better room for an additional fee. So,we had s a better experience toward the end of the stay. I am a fan of the "free breakfast" which seem to attract a non-business crowd.... As a result, a loyal returning guests get a luck ward welcome.
Hotel was serene and quite, received an upgrade to junior suite which was extremely spacious and comfortable. No hotel shuttle is available tom transport guests to Victoria station.
Superb hotel for decor, great location for seeing and gettng around london due to its 2 min walk from the tube, would definately stay there again!
this is a fine hotel in a good location. the room i stayed in was massive, the bathroom was terrific....deffinitely recommend it to anyone the food, and health suite(massage etc) were quite expensive and beware the fridge, it is charged automatically once you remove anything from it....
Location - perfect for a London weekend Breakfast was outstanding US outlets Quiet
Very close to trains, tubes and some shops. Room clean and big. Would stay again. Staff very friendly and helpful. Booked a twin room but ended up with a king size bed not sure where booking mix-up happened, just watch for that.
Location. Comfort of bed. Good check in Not having the executive lounge facilities pointed out to me so i wasn't able to make use. Room carpet wasn't clean and bathroom could have been cleaner.
Location near Victoria Station. Nice and clean rooms. Modern and functional. Personell of the reception desk are nice and polite, but less effective and lack the entusiasm to follow up on problems. We bought the plaza plus package, but did not get a newspaper before asking twice. Never got comlementary chocolate in the room, only got on set of bath robe for a double room etc. Although staff promissed to correct these errors, it never happend. Finally we gave up and did not bother to ask again.
The hotel was literally a stones throw from the Apollo Theatre and Victoria station. Was clean and the staff were helpful.
they were very nice. gave us a room upgrade and breakfast. vey good value and the room was in good condition. much better than all other hotels I have stayed in in London except the dorchester which is correspondingly expensive!
convenient location for transport links and city more effective double glazing is needed to reduce traffic noise
they were very accommodating to our needs. we arrived before there was a room available and they took our luggage and stored it for us and then upgraded our room when we came back several hours later to officially check in. Extremely friendly hotel personnel. lovey décor and enjoyed the lobby bar and wait staff there. we thought our room was very clean and the linens and hygiene products first rate. also very upscale.
Clean, comfortable, well organised.
Staff, Quiet Room Complicated Payment procedure, inflexible invoicing, staff was not able to put the correct invoice adress.
The design Extremely rude staff
The service was excellent. We never left the building or returned to our room without a staff member greeting us with a friendly smile and kind words. The room(s) were a great set-up for a family and allowed comfort and space for a reasonable price. The location was convenient for all site-seeing and public transportation.
5 star facilities, superb service. Spacious apartments. Extremely hospitable staff. Price is commensurate to 5-star status.
The staff and venue was beyond excellent!
It is very bad, noisy and old hotel it was same 2 star or B&B
Wonderful hotel in so many ways; location, expansive and luxurious accommodations, service. We booked a junior suite, but were graciously upgraded to a one bedroom suite. We had so much room! As for value, other 5 star hotels cost as much or more ,but only offered a small room. Don't hesitate to book this hotel for a unique and outstanding experience. No complaints at all. Excellent in all areas.
so much to like: the rooms themselves were lovely, spacious, immaculate, with incredibly comfortable beds. The grounds are gorgeous. Great location - situated between Buckingham Palace & Westminister Abbey & around the corner from the Underground; thus every other part of London within reach. The workout room (gym) had all one would need for great workout, but even better than all else, the INCREDIBLE staff! So professional, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable- in particular the concierge team!
Very comfortable , well equipped with excellent friendly and obliging staff.
The staffs personal attention to our needs during our stay. It made our stay very pleasent.
the friendly professional staff. I was given an upgrade which I appreciated not that I needed a 2 bedroom suite as I was on my own. there was nothing that I didn't like.
Attention to detail. Pleasant, friendly staff. Design of hotel foyer and lounge -like a very upmarket gentleman's club. Wardrobe door with full length mirror inside wouldn't open fully. Disappointing as my daughter and I were attending a dinner in an exclusive venue and wanted to make sure we looked our best.A minor point to some, but could be rectified by placing the mirror inside the adjoining door.
The staff was excellent, attentive and warm. The rooms were lovely; beds and showers were the best I've experienced. Plunder the pantry was fun.
Ambience and luxury there was nothing I disliked
Nice small Hotel in a very nice location. Very nice rooms, quite and chic
Everything, food, attention to detail and comfort, very reasonable price, breakfast and champagne included, one of the best hotels in London and one of the more reasonably priced, which seems odd but thats how it was. No hidden extras and car parking. Just brilliant. Will definately be going back.
The staff were first class. The breakfast was excellent. The ambiance was great. The only minor comment was that in our room you couldn't fully open the wardrobe door which had the full length mirror on it because it was blocked by the door closer on the room door. Nothing really, but could only give the hotel 99.9% instead of 100%.
The room was a good size for London and well-appointed with excellent amenities such as Penhaligon's products and daily service of ice, water, fresh lemon slices and olives, bedtime treats, newspapers.
a wonderful oasis amidst the bustle of victoria
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Everything you wanted was there. Relaxing and comfortable rooms. Great turn down service with candles! The exec lounge was great, like a living room in your home. We had a lovely stay.
The professionnalism and kindness of its personnel No cigar lounge
its friendliness and excellent location
Michelin Star restaurant was unbelievable! Staff and management were absolutely wonderful! We will be back soon!!!!
We absolutely love the Goring which almost feels like home when we arrive; always a lovely welcome and one feels so spoilt! Thankyou too for upgrading us to such a magnificent room - what a beautiful view of the garden and the rooms are so quiet in spite of being so close to Victoria. John and Marcelle Pyne
No Tea and coffee facilities in the room
Wimbleton, relaxed and some exploring
The service was exemplary. In every instance the staff went beyond the call of duty to cater to our every need. I would stay there again and recommend it to all of my friends and colleagues. My only difficulty was flushing the toilet with arthritic hands- it took a fair bit of effort.
The room was charming and the bedding, linens, etc was excellent! The staff was friendly and helpful at all times.(especially loved the gentleman and the entrance who has been w/you for 45 yrs!) Decided to sit w/our friends in the dining rm while they had bkfst (which was included w/their room--they booked thru a travel agent and we had booked online). The hotel charged us 10 pounds for a cup of coffee and we thoght that was a bit outrageous.
Great staff. Very friendly and helpful.
Superb service geared towards aristocracy.
location, high standards, excellent service beds too small, not very comfortable
Let me make tea in my room without needing room service
Comfortable, country house style of hotel - quite small. Helpful staff and pleasing decor. Delicious dinner. Rather disappointing breakfasts and porridge made with water!
The location is excellent for speedy access to the main attractions in London. The room was a good size. When we arrived (at about 4pm) there were no quiet double rooms left unless we upgraded, which I thought was poor. The pillows were much too big for me. I tried ringing reception to see if there were alternatives; I held on for ages but the phone was never answered. In the end I phoned room service and they sorted me out. The room was far too warm and the air conditioning did not sufficiently cool it. At reception they told me that the weather had been unusually warm which had taken them by suprise, but in my view they should have been able to sort it out. The breakfast is good but extremenly expensive; I would have liked fresh brown bread.
Pleasant atmosphere with polite helpful staff, bright and pleasant reception area, room light and cheerful.
Staff went out of their way to provide prompt and courteous service. The location is right across the street form a major train station and access to Circle and District subway lines. Rooms were modern and clean. Breakfast was ... expansive... the classic British breakfast. The restaurant and bar were comfortable. The concierge gave us a great tip to a nice Indian restaurant within easy walking distance. Frosted glass door on the bathroom means that if you turn on the bathroom light in middle of the night you wake up your partner as well.
Clean room, pleasant attentive staff, extensive breakfast buffet. Crossing the street to get to the taxi stand can be hazardous
Location, cleanliness, breakfast selection, room. wifi not included in rooms.
Excellent location which why we had booked again Very small room considering what we paid, we previously considered the hotel good value but not anymore, we even had breakfasts at Victoria as the prices for that were prohibitive.
The location was very good for many local attractions A little noisy ouitside, but hey what can you expect next to a train station?
nothing particullary the electricity plug for shaver was out of order
Near Central London, and close to Chelsea and cadogan Hall (concert) The price - too expensive
close to Victoria Station. Way over priced room, but very close to Victoria Station. Lobby is dark and depressing, room was better than lobby. clean and comfortable. Problems with shower draining. Breakfast buffet was average, fruit was not fresh.
Central location. Hotel looked great and the room was very clean, spacious and had lots of facilities- iron/tea/coffee/sports channels/trouser press/ shower and bath/fridge/air con apart from our fridge not working and we could not get our heating to work it was all great
Location is great if you need a train to Gatwick. Also for acces to sights in London. Staff we helpful and it was a nice stay,
Old-style luxury hotel with modern comfort Nothing to dislike
Checking in was very smooth. The mattress was very, very soft. So much so if you sat on the end of the bed you could quite easily have rolled off!
Excellent location. Room was very dated and basic.
Room appearance very poor, furniture needs replaced, bathroom sink cracked and dirty appearance, constant noise from announcements from station!
Convienence toilet facilities only just acceptable
Location is very convenient. Hotel staff is good. The restaurant offer is quite large, good and inexpensive. The rooms (carpet, furniture, bathroom facilities) looked old and worn-out.
helpful and friendly staff
Clean room and good hotel location
Excellent location especially if you know nothing about London. My 7th floor room was quiet and great for sleeping in. You can walk to many tourist locations. We had a great time. The breakfast was the exact same food every day
great effiicient and genial staff nothing
Proximity to tube, palace and a good pub..(Bag of Nails - 50yds)Attentiveness of staff. Nothing was too much trouble.
The staff were excellent No pool/jacuzzi facilitiesbathroom a tad small considering deluxe upgrade taken
staff very friendly and knowledgeable smallest of room
helpfulness and friendliness upon reception door of room needs caulking to reduce noise from hall
Excellent location, superb room and staff were exceptionally polite and accomodating. In fact the staff really stood out among a lot of hotels I have been at. Breakfast was also great. The Guiness tap was out at the bar.
A quality hotel with good restaurant and bar, good service and close to convenient transport links (train/underground/taxi) On this occasion our room, although well presented, was very small with an undersized double bed. Supposedly a quiet room, there was noise from the air-conditioning plant outside.
Staff were friendly
Free room upgrade. Good Location. Very Nice Hotel. Bar meals a bit pricey. Very squeeky floorboards.
the staff was wonderful and the location was top of the chart
I loved how near the hotel was to Victoria Station and the moderness of the facility (great skybox tv and nice shower area). The staff was friendly and the general vibe of the people stay there was good. I'd absolutely recommend it to my friends traveling. I didn't realize how some of the windowless rooms were actually on the level below ground which was unnerving in terms of being able to hear the underground go by and if God forbid there was an emergency.
Great location. Complimentary wine and cheese happy hour. Small rooms, good for sleeping but not much else. We spent most of our time out and about so the small room didn't matter.
Very clean, nice-looking hotel. Great staff--very helpful and friendly. Nice, high-quality amenities. Generally had a luxurious feel despite rooms being small. Excellent location on quiet side-street, around the corner from Buckingham Palace. Generally, no complaints! The rooms are pretty small, but this isn't an issue if you only have one or two people in your room and, if you're like me, don't waste time hanging in your room while on vacation.
Great location close to Victoria station for Gatwick Express and underground system. Friendly helpful staff. Breakfast good and children eat free with adults.
Booking process easy. From arrival to departure, staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast excellent, buffet as much as you can eat. On day of departure, Allowed to leave luggage securely untill ready to travel. None
Very poor customer service booked in hotel anight ago but couldnt make it and when arrived in the morning staff assured that I will cahrged for the day I have checked in but later was forced to checked out by other day staff
CentrL location, friendly and efficient staff and very clean. Nothing
Lone female policy Very clean room and spacious for a London hotel Quiet location and no noise early in the morning No alarm clock or way to book a wake up call Would have liked more tea and milk in the room Would have liked shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom
The bed was very comfortable, the location was amazing in walking distance to most popular sites and around the corner from Victoria station They did not provide a hotel safe in the room.
All good thankyou , friendly, helpful staff, rooms spotlessly clean, bathrooms spotlessly clean Beds were very clean well made and comfortable Food was really good breakfast in abundance and hot!!! Wished we could have opened a window, appreciate there was air con but there is nothing like a bit of fresh air!!. Perhaps few more tea bags, milk and sugar in the room.
Good location, reasonably sized bathroom, quiet Minimal staff
you always know rooms will be clean and comfortable
The staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
The room decor was contemporary and tasteful, flat screen tv and great bathroom adds to the luxury. We needed to be close to Victoria station and this hotels location was perfect, quiet at night to maximise a restful night but only five minutes walk from lots of good bars cafes and restaurants. We only met one member of reception staff who was very pleasant and helpful. There were no other reviews on the web for this hotel so we went in 'blind', I emailed the hotel before our arrival but got no reply. It wasn't a huge room but unless you want to pay a fortune that's par for the course in cities like London. There was no hot breakfast available but we were offered complimentary continental breakfast by way of compensation
central location. excelent shower room too small and tucked away at back of hotel
Very nicely furnished, nice bathrooms. Basic amenities, overall very comfortable The beds were very uncomfortable, and the mattresses felt cheap.
It was warm and provided shelter Very poor room in the basement - it was dark and very basic.
Nice area. Boutique shops nearby and handy for Victoria Station Some staff very friendly others unhelpful.
The service and staff were excellent, the position of the hotel is great all in all a nice set up.
Booked a twin room, 2 weeks in advance. On arrival, was presented with room with only one double bed. After talking to reception, the best they could do was add a fold away cot for my 42 yr old daughter. Thus, room was too small for both beds. We were disappointed.
Location to Victoria Station. Good for flying in/out London via Gatwick. the overall Decor was nice.Free wireless and wired internet. Staircases going up and down, depsite on the same floor. My room has a small narrow staircase going up to the bathroom. and difficult to drag luggage around to get to my room due to those up and down stairs on 1st floor. No blinds/curtains at one of my window. feel a bit insecure. One of the reception staff was a big grumpy looking although she can be helpful, but just not very friendly. Front desk service not quite a 4-5 stars level
The location was great. Very near Victoria train station and everything else. Being a tourist this was a huge plus because it kept us from getting lost. Rooms were very clean I'd stay again definitely. The only thing I didn't like was the gentleman that was the morning to afternoon front desk clerk. We were treated pretty differently than other guests by him. Other than that blip everything else was fine.
Excellent location. Incompetent manager and staff. No idea of how to run a hotel. Always responding to guest complaints about the condition of the rooms and the service. Workers seem lost without good leadership.
Friendly staff, clean and confortable Basement room, bathroom had no heating and was cold. Shower tray was not draining correctly
Great lobby with nice design and friendly staff. The fact that they first tried to put me in a room... in another building..... with a different hotel name.
close to train noisy
Room is very clean and staff is friendly. The air-con unit is very noisy
General cleanliness of the room and ensuite. The hotel could certainly do with a larger room for breakfast. It was very overcrowded and the lift brings you straight out into the breakfast room and then you have to hover around people eating their breakfast waiting for someone to finish so that you can jump into their seat! A very unrelaxing start to the day.
Ideal location for our needs. Clean, comfortable and economical considering we were in the heart of London. No
Close to Victoria Station Uncomfortable beds, not so good breakfast
Very good sized room. Excellent location near to Victoria Station. The first room I was assigned stanl of smoke but the hotel staff were very helpful and moved me to another room straightaway
accessibilty to public transport excellent Tiniest room ive ever stayed in and right beside the boiler which meant it was very noisy.
I liked the fact that you could see the underground from the front door, so not far to walk to get on the tube or train. The only comment I would make is th the breakfast room was a little small and crowded
Covenient position for tourists - close to a lot of Londons attractions
Very close to Victoria Station, no noise, not so tiny room.
proximité du centre ville buckingham big ben..... personnel de l'accueil très agréable salle de petit déjeuner trop petite surtout quand les femmes de ménage bousculent les clients avec leur chariot... machine à café en panne pendant tout le séjour...
very convinient location we were supposed to check in at 11, this is why we chose this hotel, but the room wasn't ready. Extremely small rooms, we are used to staying in b&b but this room was so small that you couldn't even make a step without falling into something. Also the stuff should really have to learn how to be more polite.
very central location for central london rooms could do with being a bit bigger
The location Reception staff not very welcoming, booked 3 rooms. Only given two rooms, when told it should be 3 they gave us another room which was not ready and was on the top floor and was so small it was like a broom cupboard compared the other rooms. Glad it was only for 1 night
5 min from Victoria station (train, tube, bus). 20 min from trafalgar square. Tea and coffe in room (free), shower, new towel every day
small rooms, no lift
Close to Victoria Noise of leak/overflow outside room window.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, OK breakfast, Good location, near to Victoria St and the Thames , Big Ben Etc.. Far far far to small rooms , the windows was situated to a brick wall, no facilities as a sitting area at the hotel, or a chair in the room
quite close to tubes and buses which was good. to many stairs for someone with walking difficult's.
The hotel had a good situation close to all the tourist sights The heat could not be turned off in our room, wich meant that it was very and uncomfortably hot
The hotel was very good value for money. A good bed, enough space, clean bathroom, nothing more is needed for a business trip in a capital city. There were no toiletries in the bathroom. This may have been an oversight, or they may have been available at reception, although I didn't ask. As a regular traveller I had my own.
