Prós: "It is so far a cut above the American carriers. There’s no way to compare them, because Qatar Airways is so far superior. The seats are far more comfortable and larger, the amount of legroom is far superior, you have much more personal space, and the craft is cleaner. Flight Attendants are fantastic! They provide excellent personal care, and are there for everything. They are supremely polite and courteous, and bring things in mediately. Very often anticipating your needs. This is what flying used to be like on United and American. But those people have completely forgotten what service is. Qatar is a 5 star airline. United and American, to my view, are 2 star at best."

When we went online there were almost no more seats available so we decided to go to the check in counter in the airport. Contras: "Crew only helpful when pushed to help. My child was sick and the cabin crew tried to give me food. I said that my child had just vomited but there was no offer to help me clear it up they just continued serving food to other passengers. I had to search for someone to help me to clear up and then I felt as though I was an inconvenience. I then had to look for someone to bring food for myself and other child. My other child is 1yr and 11 months and I was told they were only allowed baby food not a child meal. Although there were a few spare seats on the plane I was squashed into a full row with a 3 yr old and one year old on my lap. I appreciate that there may not have been any bassinet seats left but would have been helpful not to be on a full row as a single adult travelling with two small children. No offers for assistance with bags."

Prós: "I travel from Sydney to Europe (UK and Greece) regularly. My experience with Qatar airways was fantastic: I highly recommend it. First of all, the travelling hours are a bit shorter (compared to travelling via Singapore or Hong Kong) probably because of the geography of the cities/connections and the corresponding flight times between Athens-Doha-Sydney. The aircraft was exceptional (I believe it was Airbus A380). It was a double-deck, wide-body and four-engine jet airliner. Cabin and economy class seats were very comfortable and more spacious compared to other aircraft. There was minimal turbulence, which is partially due to the type of aircraft: at least this is my understanding. The aircraft also had wi-fi (complimentary for the first 15 min) and one was allowed to use the mobile phone during the flight (except during take off and landing times). The flight attendants were absolutely amazing. Also, the crew was very understanding and friendly with children. Food was also excellent and in good portions. Overall there was high tech aircraft, excellent service and no delays. I will choose it again in the future."
Contras: "On the downside, I had a problem with my entertainment device during the whole flight: there was no sound, so I was not really able to watch any movies/TV.. The flight attendants tried to sort it out, but it was not possible. They kindly brought complimentary magazines and drinks/snacks, however it would have been much preferable if I could watch a movie or if free wi-fi was offered for the whole flight, as compensation.. My understanding is that this was not an option, due to problems providing free password..."
Contras: "The seats don't recline very far and on the a380 the window is a very long way from the seat making it impossible to lean against. - so difficult to get a reasonable test. The food was not great. Perhaps not qatar's fault(?) but we bought duty free alcohol in Brussels and took as carry on then after a layover in Doha we were advised Australian regulations prohibited us from taking it on board for the final leg - even though it was still sealed in the duty free bag. We were forced to check it protected only by some lightweight clothing and a thin back pack we had been using as cabin luggage. Fortunately it made it undamaged - but it would be better if we had been informed of this at Brussels."

Though it’s certainly not the airlines fault that there was an issue with a passenger, they should’ve been a lot more transparent and gave us a lot more information on what exactly was going on other then “we need to go back to a special area to get this passenger off.” Couple that with the security checks to “make sure there is nothing on the plane that shouldn’t be” and very little explanation of what actually occurred, it made for a very stressful flight. Not knowing if this passenger had made any kind of threat against the plane, or safety of other passengers... etc, it was very hard to feel safe for the remainder of my trip being left in the dark as the incident occurred in first class."

When I got to the airport, my flight had been changed again to have 3 layovers and getting back the next morning. When I spoke with a representative at the Rio airport she said she couldn't do anything for me but to ask at my next layover where they could switch me to a direct flight. When I asked at that airport, they said they didn't even fly direct flights. Worst airline experience I've ever had."

They refused to have conversation and would randomly leave to the back office for 20 minutes at a time or stop assisting people at all. There were people screaming at the ticketing counter and security was called. In the end we spent 14 hours waiting there for a new flight, got split up and sent to different countries, had to miss work, and were not given any flight credit, accommodation, or even an apology."

Contras: "I lost my flight because I did not receive any notification that avianca wasn't allowing people to get on the plane to Bogota from Rio de janeiro without a yellow fever vaccine certificate. Keeping in mind that my departure flight was from Bogota with the same airline. So I lost my return flight and avianca wouldn't give me any discount on getting a new one."
Prós: "The video selection is pretty good"

Got on the hotel’s shuttle bus and the driver announced that HoJo was full and all voucher holders would go to Rodeway Inn but those without vouchers would go to HoJo....huh!?? Called HoJo and the same person I’d spoken to 20 mins prior said it was correct, that Rodeway was a sister property. The Rodeway Inn Metro Airport is pretty disgusting. This is my opinion after coming from remote Mexico and extensive travel in Africa. It should be torn down. Delta/HoJo should not send customers there."

Contras: "Getting through security at the LAX Delta Terminal 2 was chaotic and the slowest I have ever encountered. There were two lines which moved at very different speeds. My husband got through his line 15min before I was finished in the other line. One line required iPads to be other, the other didn't. Something was seriously wrong with how things were being handled. Bathrooms onboard were a pigstie."

I was fine, didn't have any reservations but my wife and kid went starving all the way remember it was a 15 hour flight"

Contras: "They board the front of the plane first, meaning the aisles get clogged up slowing down the process. Also, staff kept insisting pre boarding that more people needed to check their bags because there wasn't enough overhead bin space, but there were plenty of bins not full by take off."

Contras: "Delta is not the only airline to have planes with the new seat configurations in First Class but they are a big disappointment for tall passengers and couples who enjoy traveling together and cannot even carry on a comfortable conversation on a 15-hour flight."

The food, wine/ beer service was same as regular economy, the boarding took place at same time as economy, no drink before take-off if only sparkling water. And the plane was old generation 747 and the entertainment was same vintage: screen was not very bright and the selection of films was poor. No plug to charge electronics. We were disappointed with KLM when comparing with other airline companies offerings when you book in Premium Economy."

They didn't collect garbage before landing. Not only did we have to take our bags off the plane, we had to carry our garbage (drink cups/food served) to the front of the plane to throw out."

Contras: "I paid almost $400 for upgraded seats. When I got to the airport-- no seats-- both ways!! i didn't even have regular seat assignments. I had to choose from the last few seats available. The ticket agent, the gate agent and the cabin crew all did nothing to make up for the fact that their system screwed up and stuck me in a cramped coach seat in the back of the plane for 11 hours-- TWICE! Beyond that, KLM must have one of the oldest fleets in the sky. Both ways LAX->AMS->LAX, I was on a 30-35 year old 747 with no wifi, no power and a ten-year-old entertainment system. Never again."

Contras: "I have a dairy allergy but had no option to prepurchase a dairy free meal. It made for a very unenjoyable flight as I couldn't eat anything they had. What was worse was after I told them of my situation they said they understood and had a meal that would do but there was cheese, yogurt, milk chocolate, etc."

Prós: "They flew full speed to catch up with the delays."
Contras: "Departure was scheduled with one hour delay. When everyone was boarded they mentioned a leaking toilet. It took them 1,5 hours to disable the toilet. In the mean time, no drinks, no snacks, nothing. So we should depart at 18:00 but it became 19:30. Our first drinks and meal was no earlier then 21:00. The crew should have anticipated better that the technical problem would at least take one hour and give everyone a drink at least."
Prós: "Captain was updating us with the delay status."
Contras: "You have to be gold to get the priority boarding. In other countries I can do it with my silver status."
Prós: "Flight was on time, crew professional, food and drinks good and kept coming. I learnt Dutch on the in-flight entertainment system. I was in a good mood talking to another passenger about his new luggage system. This mood was kept and not taken away on the flight."
