Prós: "It is so far a cut above the American carriers. There’s no way to compare them, because Qatar Airways is so far superior. The seats are far more comfortable and larger, the amount of legroom is far superior, you have much more personal space, and the craft is cleaner. Flight Attendants are fantastic! They provide excellent personal care, and are there for everything. They are supremely polite and courteous, and bring things in mediately. Very often anticipating your needs. This is what flying used to be like on United and American. But those people have completely forgotten what service is. Qatar is a 5 star airline. United and American, to my view, are 2 star at best."

I said that my child had just vomited but there was no offer to help me clear it up they just continued serving food to other passengers. I had to search for someone to help me to clear up and then I felt as though I was an inconvenience. I then had to look for someone to bring food for myself and other child. My other child is 1yr and 11 months and I was told they were only allowed baby food not a child meal. Although there were a few spare seats on the plane I was squashed into a full row with a 3 yr old and one year old on my lap. I appreciate that there may not have been any bassinet seats left but would have been helpful not to be on a full row as a single adult travelling with two small children. No offers for assistance with bags."

How can such a reputed airline have no tools to calculate the pay? Other airlines offered one-way for half of the price i paid. On top of it, online helpdek promised front line seat to satisfy me but nothing was offered even if i ask explicitly. Simply declined saying i am not in priority list. Why do they make false promises? Friends, Just don't fly for food ....."

Though it’s certainly not the airlines fault that there was an issue with a passenger, they should’ve been a lot more transparent and gave us a lot more information on what exactly was going on other then “we need to go back to a special area to get this passenger off.” Couple that with the security checks to “make sure there is nothing on the plane that shouldn’t be” and very little explanation of what actually occurred, it made for a very stressful flight. Not knowing if this passenger had made any kind of threat against the plane, or safety of other passengers... etc, it was very hard to feel safe for the remainder of my trip being left in the dark as the incident occurred in first class."

Add to the narrow seats is the design of the seat and armrests themselves and you don't have much space at all. No way I was going to be able to work on my laptop in this LATAM business class seat."

As a result, we had to exit the secured area in Rio to go check in manually again for our connection and then go through security and customs again."

Prós: "We are an American Family. We traveled on LATAM Sydney to Auckland round trip. The plane was brand new Boeing Dreamliner 787-8 with all the bells and whistles. The attendants who are Spanish speakers but bilingual were delightful. We had one meal on each flight and 2 rounds of drinks. We had no issues with carry on or checked luggage. To summarize we had 2 perfect on-time flights with no fuss or drama. I couldn't recommend them more even if I tried.."

This was one of the worse experiences I have ever had. The staff was disrespectful and would not help us. We ended up taking another flight until the following night!!"

Contras: "They lost my luggage. Avoid this airline like the plague. Never again."

Prós: "Used system wide upgrade to first class. Seat is spacious and comfortable. Mattress pad is a good addition."

Contras: "Bulkhead seat in Main Cabin Extra was a nightmare. One has to be in cirque du soleil to navigate through breakfast in the extra small tray."

Moqueca was flavored Boarding was very confused, we bought premium economy, on advertising we could check-in on business class, no specific line for business or economic, only separated line for first clas"
Prós: "Non stop and an on time arrival after 20 min delay at phl when no gate agent could deplane previous flight. After being re-ticketed from overbooked united flight all in all not bad at all."
Contras: "They happen from time to time,... from many unassigned seats causing long gate line where several butted to the front to random noises during the flight from passengers to 6 bathroom trip guy just weird all around. Plus the multiple gate changes by PHL which are to be expected. Just a regular PHL departure,..."
Prós: "AA is always on time! Love the premium economy!"
Contras: "Today’s flight was extremely cold. Almost everyone in the plan was under the covers at some point."
Prós: "The premium economy service was well worth the extra money. The crew was attentive but not annoying on an overnight service. The food was much better than other long haul internationals. And we arrived rested ready to see the city"
Contras: "Again boarding was just a mush of people. American keeps revising the boarding process but does little to make it actually efficient and orderly. The grouping should have made things better but gate agents don’t consistently reinforce the policy so passengers are all lax."
Prós: "The airplane is new"
Contras: "The crew was terrible, so rude, really I don’t understand why there are like that. Is like asking a favor for everything . The seat are to short of space and uncorfortable"

Contras: "Several flights were delayed and canceled on last minute."
Contras: "Was informed when we checked in that the flight we had purchased did not exists. We were informed thatcher would have to wait 24hours (after an already 7 hour layover) to catch another flight to Los Angeles. After debating with customer servinge several times and being forced to wait in line after being told things were fixed several time we had to threaten to record conversations and had someone call American Airlines headquarters and finally was able to get in the flight the same night. We at work be point were laughed at by an American Airlines customer service professional. I had purchased upgraded seats since I’m over 6 feet tall and they were not able to accommodate on the new flight, the flight was horrible and I had ton stand up every hour to make I the whole 12 hours."
Prós: "The only decent point was the food. Not great but at least edible."
Contras: "Since check in in São Paulo was a complete chaos. There were only 2 people helping on check in (in machines) and these people were still not helping people (like me) with questions about on how to do check in in those machines. On the other hand to dispatch the bags there were almost 8 attendants to receive the bags. Ridiculous! I’ve tried calling American Airlines and Latam several times to assign a seat for me and they swore there were only middle seats but I know how airlines work to make extra money on these seats. At the end, they only gave me a middle seat option and I had to take I.t of course. On the plane I realized there were dozens of empty seats and yet they made sure not give them to me or anyone else. Unbelievable! Unfortunately I still have to use AA on my way back to Brazil. After this, I’ll chose another airlines for sure. Also, the 3,4,3 arrangement is ridiculous: there’s no corridor space making people touching you everything someone passes by your seat. And boy! Those seats are so uncomfortable and there’s no way to incline the chair so you can even have a little rest (because it’s impossible to even sleep on those seats). The crew were simply doing their jobs! No pleasure! No smile! No engaging with anyone unfortunately! They looked miserable and I asked for water and the flight attendant NEVER brought me anything. Seriously! Water is free!"
Prós: "Clean comfortable and on time"
Contras: "NO HEAT IN PLANE FOR 2.5 HOURS, VERY VERY VERY COLD. TOO SMALL OF A PLANE. OVERHEADS DOORS WERE BROKE, NOT ABLE TO STOW BACK PACKS. AA IS CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT PRICES ARE SOOOOOOO HIGH"

Contras: "I understand some delays can occur due to tecnical problems and most of the times they are out of control but negative issues related to communications they are controllable and they must be reviewed and implemente properly."

Contras: "I didn't like anything else about the flight. My seat was broken and the seats are incredibly cramped! Absolutely no leg room whatsoever. I am 6 feet tall which is an average male height so I can't imagine how anyone taller fits in those seats."
Prós: "Nothing. Someday the airline industry will be disrupted and we'll all remember this and say, "can you believe what we used to put up with, and how expensive it was?!""
Contras: "No decent food available, they ran out. People allowed to play movies loudly with no headphones for 5 hours straight. Uncomfortable seats with no cushioning."
Prós: "Customer service good. Offered food/service quickly."
Contras: "Film selection was subpar, and had no subtitles available. Flight safety information video so unbelievably boring. Flight crew repeated all instructions at least 3 times including video interruptions. What is the point of having in flight entertainment if crew will interrupt said entertainment at least once every 10 min to remind you you are still in turbulent air? Do they honestly think the passengers forgot? We are in the plane too! I understand they have to be careful due to liability but this airline is ridiculous. Believe it or not customers do not like being treated like children. Would not recommend to others or fly this airline again. Also, the lunch was awful even by airline standards. Btw the airline was avianca not AA. kayak must have messed up or they are owned by AA. AA is great and I recommend them wholeheartedly but Avianca is awful. Stay away if you can afford to do so."
Prós: "On time. Polite gate reps. Helpful crew. Smooth flight and on time."

Contras: "We get used to cramped conditions on domestic flights but normally get more for international flights. The 777 was very modern but small cramped seats (3 4 3 configuration) meant for a tough journey and almost impossible to sleep."

Contras: "They still use the dual port for headphones for the entertainment system so you are unable to use your own headphones. I didn't watch anything because of this."

Contras: "I did not fly I lost my flight they had a problem with the airplane on my flight from brasilia to sao paulo so I arrived late lost the connection to my other flight from Sao Paulo to LAX. Also they lost my luggage. LATAM and American Air Lines doesnt know where my luggage is. I arrived at my LAX 12 hours after. They still dont know where my luggage is"
Contras: "I had my reservation cancelled despiste numerous phone calls. The flight was operated by AA, and they told me I wasn't on the flight, but after many phone calls LATAN assured me I was booked on the flight. When I got to the airport, I was not allowed to board my direct flight from GRU to LAX, instead I was sent to Miami then Charlestown , I took me an extra 12 hours to get home. I lost a day of work. Who's going to reimburse me for that ???"
Prós: "only the low fare; which wasn't worth the experience we endured. i do not plan to use them again!"
Contras: "that was much too long a flight to be to be put through such an inferior"
Prós: "The airline was excellent, I am over being cramped in these planes for long flights. Unfortunately living in Australia makes us have to do the long flights."
Contras: "When you are travelling on long flights travelling all night, people in front have seat reclined right back and it is so hard to get out when you need to go to toilet."
Contras: "The crew definitely needs to be changed. There needs to be hostesses who are more attentive and actually care about their passengers."
Contras: "How does American think it can get away with a mediocre business class fitting and charge the same as Lufthansa and United? In this flight, the did recline 170º but formed a ramp that did slowly slide the passenger under the set in front of him. I'd recommend someone from AA should fly Lufthansa Business Class or Singapore Airlines Business to check out how it should be done! ANd then, flying a beaten up 777-200er while its competitors fly 787 is nonhing but a shame!"
Prós: "I like the entertainment."
Contras: "Food and distribution of the food. Unfortunately on my flight the flight attendant was so busy that forgot to come back for the water/coffee drinks."

Contras: "Didn't realize that codeshare meant operation by another airline, so we waited in line to up at the wrong counter, in the wrong terminal and then had to schlep our baggage to the right one. Good thing we were early."

Prós: "I liked the flight, the cabin crew was great, and the pilot nailed their landing."
Contras: "The big one is that when we tried to check in with Qantas, we were informed that we needed to check in with American Airlines and could not check in. Had we not been to the airport 2.5 hours early, we would have had a great shot at missing our flight because of this.As it was, we only had 15 extra minutes from when we got to the gate from when we boarded. Even this email you just sent to me said "rate your Qantas Flight", not rate your American Airlines flight coshared by Qantas. The other big gripe is that we sat on the tarmac for way longer than I would have expected. LAX Sucks."
