Not enough beverage services for such a long flight, especially when we weren't able to bring our own water bottles on board (security check at the gate immediately before boarding -- liquids not allowed). Food -- nice to receive two meals, though they were so-so in quality. Half the crew was very friendly; others barely cracked a smile."

Contras: "They said the flight was delayed by 2 hours but then decided to board all of a sudden. We somehow made it but still ended up missing our connecting flight. Food was pathetic with no vegetarian options. Groups of people were split up and not seated together. Complete mess!"

Having to give up my water before getting on the plane for a 6 hour flight makes ZERO sense. I hope this requirement is due to some stupid TSA/USA regulation and not Copa. If its the latter, please re-evaluate this."

Turned back at the air port in Rio I had to spend an extra 13 days in Rio de Janeiro at my expense, three to see doctor and get vacine, plus ren day waiting period."
Contras: "To change ticket I had to pay change fee plus fare difference. Copa said it was not their responsibility to notify passengers of health alerts and Kayak should be responsible. Needless to say I was on the hook for the time and the bill. I have flown Copa with satisfaction a number of times but this is enough to discourage me from ever flying them again and possibly ever using Kayak again."

Was traveling with a group of 7 girls and got left behind in Panama because Copa took my seat away. Had to sit at the Panama airport for over 10 hours waiting for the next flight and arrive home at midnight. Copa would not allow access to a lounge or hotel even though they initially offered it when they said how they would take care of me if they couldn't get my seat back. Disgusted by how this airline operates."
Contras: "My first plane was delayed. Then the flight delay exceeded to where I'd miss my next connection. Then I changed flights once the connection was going to be missed and had a narrow margin to catch the newly assigned connection which was the last flight to town. The flight leaving SF was delayed to where I missed my last flight and had to stay the night in Seattle. It seems all of this could have been resolved if I could have gotten on an earlier flight, which I was trying to do since 4:00 that day. I didn't end up leaving SFO until 9:00 pm"
Prós: "Our flights both left right on time. The connection time in Panama City was very short so we were concerned that our checked luggage may not make the second flight. Very impressed that our luggage did arrive in San Francisco without a hitch. Very friendly crew. They spoke good English too!"

Contras: "I was seated at an exist row at the window seat. The crew would not allow our row to stay seated at the exit row because she said we did not know Spanish well. Instead of finding us replacement of a window and aisle seats we had to take middle seats. She didn't even make an effort to ask if anyone would switch out. I wish airlines would train their crew to think out of the box style and practice customers service, which finds solutions and not state rules. In the end - people migrated to the exist aisle anyway (where we were seated) and made it into a bed."
Prós: "Getting off the plane"
Contras: "Biggest problem was the inappropriate advice given in Sint Maarten by Copa employees about checking bags in Panama. This caused us to have to buy a new piece of luggage to transport something that couldn't be carried through security. Apparently TSA requires additional screening beyond the normal airport security for Tocumen. For Copa employees in Sint Maarten - whose only flights are to Tocument - to not know this is absurd. There was also an incident with duplicate seating that was handled extremely poorly. I was not involved, but it occurred on an adjoining seat. I finally resolved the problem by giving up my seat. Tocumen airport is not an airport that I want to see again. The security - as indicated above - is not up to standard, the flight listings are ridiculous (6 screens all showing the same flight information and never progressing past "M" In the alphabet, way too much duty-free shopping and way too little other signage. It's off my list."
Prós: "The crew"
Contras: "Copa cited some airport restriction on number of people they could accommodate on the plane due to weather and how this was handled and processed by the ground crew was just terrible. This affected a number of passengers -- 30 or more, by my estimates. And it started with the leg from Panama to San Francisco not checked in automatically and getting placed on standby. The call center did not offer a suitable explanation for the airport's weather restriction. As a frequent flier on the Star Alliance, I have not seen a situation handled as poorly as this. The ground staff seem very poorly trained to handle what seems to be a frequent situation. And despite most affected travelers being there early with a layover began to resolve this only 45 min before the flight. My appetite to fly Copa from San Francisco has vastly diminished. And so has the desire to fly through Panama City, if weather is as fickle as they say it is."
Prós: "I was bumped from an overbooked Copa flight and was offered another that would get me home at 1am (rather than 3pm) or an overnight stay and a flight the next morning. Instead of trying to find a way home from the airport (a 1+ hour ride) in the middle of the night, I opted to stay in Panama overnight. Copa put me up in a very nice Sheraton in downtown Panama City with a pool, several restaurants, a casino... They gave me $20 per meal I'd be staying for (lunch, dinner, and the following breakfast), arranged a shuttle to and from the airport, and, the best part, a $1000 voucher for future flights with Copa within the next year - enough for two more round trip flights."
Contras: "Communication was minimal or false. When I checked my bag, the agent told me that I was being placed on standby because of a weight limit on the plane. She assured me that the flight wasn't full and that I would absolutely get a seat. When I got to the gate, there was minimal information available, but about 12-15 people were on standby, including two families of 4 and 5 people. The agents were ill-informed and didn't immediately explain why so many of us were on standby and whether anyone would make it on the plane, or what the other options were for those who wouldn't make it on the plane. Eventually four or five people boarded, another few got moved to a later flight, and 6 including me were put up in a hotel. Betzy, a gate agent for Copa at Tocumen, was absolutely wonderful and so helpful and informative with all of this."

We were held inside the security of the airport without be allowed to leave to use the restroom, buy water or eat food."

Contras: "Strange use of curtains upfront during flight. I was asked to check my carryon for free to help out with boarding, but then had to wait longer to get the bag in baggage claim. It was the last bag of my checked bags to show up. Checked carryon bags should have a higher priority to return."

LAN used to be the best to SA, LATAM is the worst, never again."
Prós: "I liked the presentation, the effort that LATAM puts forward in general. They have great uniforms that reminds me of old airlines, in a good way."
Contras: "The services is good, but they do not do it with a smile on their face. I asked for a cup of water and both times it took them about 10 minutes to get me that cup. The crew always seems to be bothered to serve the customer. There is also a big difference between services going straight to Santiago on the 787 and to Peru on the 767. I understand the plan (767) is older and that does not bother me. What bothers me is the disparity in service between the two. I received great service the first time I traveled on LATAM, ever since then they have disappointed. I do not understand what is going on with them."

They then separated one of the couples with premium seating without notice so some other couple could sit next to each other. Their website didn't allow us to use an electronic boarding pass. Its cumbersome and uninformative. Some of the attendants are incredibly rude."

Contras: "HORRIBLE pre flight, and in airport staff. Incompetent, zero clue as to handle a delayed flight forced every passenger to hand over passports into communal plastic bags and took them for 2 hours somewhere in the airport unknown to us. I should never have to give up my passport into plastic bags/strangers EVER. They lost my customs paper, and then proceeded to accuse me of "selling it"--They took it after I passed through customs initially and if they put it back in passport after they threw them all in plastic bags- god knows where it is, or who's hands it was in who may have took it. They would not give us food vouchers, or water. They couldn't figure out how to get buses and hotel rooms for people- basic simple business skills-- add number of passengers going to hotel, calculate number of seats per bus and that will get you the number of buses needed--- they couldn't figure that out. I will call and give more detail, I promise."
Contras: "A death in the family cause us to change our flight , they were not accommodating and were extremely insensitive. Try your best not to use kayak or Latam."

Contras: "getting in and out of the seat was awful. especially when the seat in front is reclined. the armrest on the aisle seat should be able to move up as the others in the row did. the metal underneath the armrest is pretty sharp and jagged, scraped my palm as i was trying to get the seatbelt to buckle."
Contras: "Too many gate changes. They changes gates atleast four times for each flight. And long wait(more than an hour for each flight) at the boarding queue.Even the business class seats were very dirty. No vegetarian food. The TV remote did not work. And there were only 4 movies in the entertainment section and nothing else. No TV series or any other videos. The crew was courteous. That was the only good thing about the flight. Highly disappointed."

But any words on the further one, we couldn’t read. The staff on the plane were rude and made us seem like we’re a bother and unwelcome. We were scared to ask for anything."
Contras: "The flight was delayed by 4 hours and it was never communicated to the passengers through the monitors. None of the flight info was updated on the monitors and we had no idea about: 1. which gate the flight was supposed to depart from 2. the correct time of the new departure since the flight was late 3. whether the flight was canceled all together The monitors showed the flight was on time until the actual time of departure. I almost missed my flight because I was never notified about the information above. The Aeromexico agents at the airport were not helpful at all: they did not know anything about the issue with the flight. I had to stay in a long line just to have them look up the flight in the computer and tell me that the flight was delayed. No other information was given to me. Terrible experience, especially after a long stopover."

The plane for the longer flight (SFO - CUN) was a visibly older plan and the seats felt like sitting on concrete. Also, it didn't notify me while booking that the seats in front of the exit row didn't recline (or I missed it somehow), and the seats didn't just not recline - they actually leaned forward a bit! The seats themselves were VERY tightly packed - likely the tightest I've ever been in."

On top of it all they charge $25 for the first bag you check in. WTF that's just being crazy. Soon they will charge people to use the on board toilet. The crew members were very rude, don't smile. They give you actitude when you asthem for something. Uncomfortable seats from the 80's. Smelly airplane. I wouldn't recommend flying with Aeromexico ever!"

And on my ticket I didn't have the gate number or the terminal, the goalkeeper said he would let me know when the flight was leaving, the hours passed and I didn't hear him calling me. until near the departure time I went to ask the employee and he said that the flight had left a long time ago and that the entrance was on the opposite side of where I was and they did not warn me ... now I'm here at the airport with no place to sleep, waiting for my other flight with a connection to Brasilia that leaves 6 am where I will wait for almost 12 hours to be able to get home. remembering that my flight from São Paulo to Cuiabá was 3 hours long and I will have to wait for almost 24 hours. A goalkeeper was super arrogant with me, gave me no support and even told me that if I was in the United States I would be waiting for 3 days at the airport sleeping on the floor, so it was ok."

Contras: "Anyone who flies the route NVT-GRU knows two things. The departure and landing times are unreliable and they always....always over sell seats. Navegantes (NVT) is a very small airport but connects to so many international flights. The city and many of the neighboring towns have become vacation hotspots. I personally fly this route twice a month these days So many bad things happen because of their poor on-time results and overbooking. The worst of which is missing your connections. This was the third time in 2 months that I’ve missed my connection in São Paulo to NYC. This time I purposely took an earlier flight 6:40pm so I would have no chance to miss my 11pm flight to New York. Then a 2 hour and 20 minute delay! My God ...really? Another missed flight. GOL you CAN do BETTER! ."
Prós: "Everything about today’s flight hit the right notes: wonderful lounge, premium boarding line, no one in the middle seat, overhead bin space was very good, Wifi to watch movies and a holder for my iPhone while watching the movie, quick and efficient food and drink service, etc."

Got there by 9:15 only to find out it’s been closed for checking bags. I beg , implore and there’s nothing to be done. Pay extra for 2 extra bags, for what? Nothing. Lost about $75 altogether non refundable. SUCKS."
