Contras: "Flight delayed due to technical issues, boarding crew said there was a hole in the plane and that it might be canceled. After a long delay we finally tookoff. Plane was very cramped and very little room for the legs. Food and entertainment were average and fine."

Contras: "Extremely rigid rules. My flight was the day of the blizzard in Boston, Tues, 3/13. Despite 5 calls to Swiss to reroute me out of Montreal, an airport I could actually get to, they would not relent. I finally just drove there and a really nice agent changed my flight since Logan was closed and all public transport was shut down. Even if my scheduled flight from boston wasn't canceled (I have no idea) they were incredibly unhelpful about the fact that I physically could not get to logan in time for my flight. (Mass DOT was asking everyone to stay off ALL roads). THEN on the way home, they would NOT let me fly back to Montreal where my car was!! WAY TOO RIGID RULES. Screw the customer!"

Prós: "The flight itself was very enjoyable. The only negative aspect was that the first leg of the flight was delayed long enough that I almost missed my connecting flight and my baggage was lost."
Contras: "The real reason for the negative review is a combination of the cost of this flight, loss of my baggage and poor service after the flight. I paid nearly $4,500 for an economy ticket from New York to New Delhi. The first leg of the flight, from New York to Zurich was delayed long enough that I made my connecting flight to Delhi within seconds of them closing the gate and as a result my baggage was lost. Once I got to Delhi I had to take a connecting flight to Goa and then drive an hour to my destination, where I was attending a good friend's wedding. All of my baggage was lost during transit by the airline, and unfortunately they never delivered by baggage to my hotel...so I was without formal clothes and normal clothes for the wedding for 4 days. The customer service line was no help, and the airline refused to deliver the baggage to me...the closest they would bring it was the Goa airport which was an hour and a half away."

Prós: "2 seats on outside sections not 3, so you can sit together as a couple and not have a random stranger in seat 3."

The seats supposed to work.. wasn’t .. we had to switch the seats with no help and with the lights off. Awful .. of course they didn’t noticed so they didn’t woke me up for the breakfast. (And I’ve been asking for). Maybe was bad luck but that’s really ridiculous. During the flight they didn’t brought water or something we had to call them."

Prós: "There was metalic box underneath the seat in front of me (entertainment box), that did not leave any room to stretch my legs"
Contras: "This box blocked any room to stretch my legs. The flight was full and I did not have the chance of changing seats. Flying 13 hours in this situation is unacceptable."

Contras: "I did not get a check in reminder email which I thought was strange. I tried checking in and received an error message. I contacted customer service by email and was told I was all checked in. Assuming no issues I went to airport to find out it was canceled. I did not receive an explanation. I waited in line for two hours before speaking to a representative. Was made to feel like it was my fault I hadn't worked things out while waiting in line-"didn't you receive an email!?" I was told no other options except to leave the next day. I pulled up many other flights out of Venice that would get me home in time and was told that there simply were no other options. The real explanation was that Swiss didn't want to pay out to get me home in time. I had to pay more money to get back into the city rather than sit in airport for 12 hours."

Prós: "The flights were Just as schedule, the arrival time was even earlier than planned. The crew is always available and tries to make the flight as comfortable as it can be. The food is brilliant in comparison to other airlines. To sum up, always a good choice. * this is my 8th flight with Swiss."

We left the departure gate 30 minutes later than scheduled, after arriving at 0445 am. then we loaded a bus full of people packed together, the bus went 50 meters and stopped. We then sat there, with no air conditioning, no information, for 45 additional minutes. It was extremely uncomfortable. Finally drove another 50 meters to the airplane, and waited some more before finally boarding. Once on board there was another delay of some 20 minutes before we could taxi. All of this meant we arrived quite late in Istanbul and missed all connections."

Contras: "First the plane from JFK to Istanbul was two and a half hours late I had a for kids is uncomfortable to wait then try to get a contact with customer service do not give me any straight answers and 3 hours later finally got Somebody explain something overall no good this will be my first time and the last time"

Prós: "I landed SAW airport with another operator. Turkish airlines should have simply waited for me as my reservation with them starts in SAW airport. My previous operator sent my luggage to SAW as final destination, which means i have to cross passport control, collect my luggage and start the check-in process; given the time window between the flights, that was simply impossible. TURKISH AIRLINE's ground staff - transit team of SAW airport - Made it happen! I was requested just to wait, then they confirmed transferring the luggage and gave me respective tags! landed CDG - Paris to find my bag safe and sound :)"

Contras: "The Turkish Airlines staff can be very rude, non-communicative in passing along information. They do not like you to ask questions nor do they want to answer your questions. They yell at you or just simply ignore you. No legroom. The crew did not mention that are flight was delayed prior or that we missed our connecting flight and what to do from there. I was given a hotel room during my layover but its in a scary neighborhood and it smells like sewage is nearby. The Grand Yavaz. The cheaper price is not worth the hassle. I can spend my good money elsewhere...i will be sure to warn others."

Prós: "at RDU after they missed to notify me in time, they were very nice to find me the fastest route on the next day, not miss my whole conference . They give me food vulture also. most of the flying attendances were really kind under my travel, except on the MUC-IAD plane"
Contras: "They didn't notify me in time on a delay and didn't suggested a different route. Therefore I was able to flew just the following day as my connection to the oversea flight was more then an hour delay. It happened with me flying to Budapest, and also flying back from Budapest. Make you better understand, that does it mean for me: in Budapest I missed the first part of my conference, and with the flying back one day later I lost one payed work day. As I have family in Budapest I decided to stay for the night there, and not at Munich, but just rescheduling my flight and providing me a taxi drive was so complicated, that it took two and half extra hrs at the airport, Also Lufhansa put me in my rescheduled back trip the MUC-IAD flight on the 45C seat, what was the worst seat on the plane. Not just that. When they have plenty of empty seat in all of the section, and they wanted to sell it the economy plus seats for more than hundred dollars, I mentioned to the fight attendance my misery ,and how I don't like the seat what I got, and she laughed on me, and I heard her telling her colleagues,this kind of funny way as they were behind me. That's no how they need to treat passenger, Also on flying back they didn't react fast, and they missed to put me on the Frankfurt plane, what could be an alternative route, on the same day, instead they sent me desk to desk."

Prós: "Great staff, quick boarding and vegetarian options were avaliable. This was the most pleasant experience I've had with a flight service. I commend Lufthansa and the crew of this aircraft."
Contras: "Minimal entertainment but understandable for a short flight."

Contras: "The plane was way out of the terminal and I had asked for assistance which I had going and most of coming back until the last part getting on to the plane at Lufthansa no-one came at Birmingham either. I struggled to collect my case and walk through to the exit."

Contras: "The only concern I have is regarding the diet. During the shorter flight, from Budapest to Frankfurt, the stewardess informed me that she couldn't get me gluten-free meal/snack. I understand that catering to special diet needs is not easy but following a gluten-free diet is not my choice, it is something I need to deal and live with on a daily basis. I felt disappointed since I had a long trip ahead of me, and I know that I, just like all the other passengers, had paid for the flight that should include the meal as well. Thank you for reading my concern and trying to see it from me, the passenger's point of view."

Contras: "Flight was delayed want to take off. Luggage did not transfer. Four days before luggage will get to us."

Prós: "Even though we were a little late boarding and taking off, we still arrived 15 minutes early. The on board snack was pretty good (cheese sandwich) and the coffee was lovely - good quality and just what I needed."

Contras: "My flight was cancelled due to the pilots' strike. I only learned about this when I attempted online check in. Lufthansa never attempted to notify me. Then when I called in to the Romania Service Center to rebook, the phones went down in the middle of the call. That is understandable given the extreme volume of calls they were handling. What is unacceptable, is that they made no attempt to contact me once the phones were up. I ended up calling the U.S. service center at 1am local time to rebook...only 3 hours before I needed to leave for the airport. It took an hour - which I paid for at direct dial international rates - to find a flight. I'm very grateful for the U.S. service rep who was kind and helpful. She was the one bright spot in this poorly handled situation."

Prós: "Exceptional! The new plane was excellent. Like the downstairs toilet arrangement. Food was the best ever for overseas flight. Entertainment center was also excellent."

Contras: "I closed my eyes for just a few minutes two hours before landing and I missed the last meal. I was not sleeping but somehow the stewardess was going around quickly because I heard her in back of me. I thought she was headed in my direction but she had already passed me and then the drinks came around so I could not get thru to go back and ask for the "pizza". I wish the stewardesses would make a quick check up and down the isles in case someone dozed off. The first meal that I received was very good but I am glad I didn't miss it when they came around. Especially that I traveled alone. I do have to say that the comfort of the seats on the way to Europe was much better. It was a different airline."

Contras: "Lufthanza is still "rule bound" and somewhat inflexible. Staff had some trouble adjusting to individual request (e.g. one passenger changed her mind on the meal choice and confused the staff member who tried to force the food choice on this older lady). Obviously, dealing with elderly is not the same as dealing with young - this may require some additional training of staff members.On another occasion, two passengers exchanged seats - and it took some time for staff to sort this out at the meal time. Contras: "Did not care if I made my connecting flight or help me to understand if I could make it, seats are terribly overbooked and crammed. Many people visibly aggravated and mobility compromised due to seats,"

Contras: "The gate printed on my ticket was not the gate the plane departed from. Not only was it not, but there was no announcement or warning this would happen. I only realized because 15 mins after the scheduled boarding time I went to find out what was going on. There should have been an announcement."

Prós: "In terms of things I liked flying with UA998 from Brussels to EWR: The boarding staff at Brussels airport was helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. Boarding procedure was smooth even with the extra security screening at the gate."
Contras: "It was quickly clear to me that the passengers where simply an inconvenience to some of the crew on UA998. As an example I fell asleep during take off and woke up in the middle of the meal service. The cart was only a couple of rows behind me in the half-ful Economy Plus section so I got up and tried to get the attention of the staff. The lady turned around and confirmed that "I had woken up" with a sigh, as is not only was it inconvenient to her that I was a sleep, now I had the nerves to actually ask for a meal. She presented me with the options of pasta and chicken and I politely asked what they where served with. She straight out said that "she really did not know that" and asked me to make a choice. I wont get into any other examples, the machine was half full at best and there was no stress, so frustrating to be treated like you are an inconvenience to the USA based staff who clearly just wanted to be left alone. The entertainment system barely worked, the touch monitor was very hard to operate - the pressure sensitive functionality was not working properly but I managed to get to my movie and avoid the Chinese subtitles in the third try. I fly United because it's part of Star Alliance, but otherwise I would try and avoid at all cost."

Contras: "Couldn't checkin online. Had to wait in line for over an hour."

Prós: "Information sharing by pilots and crew. Economy class leg room is good."

Contras: "Staff hurrying us up 40 minutes before departing and threatening to take our bags out of the plane in case we didn’t board then. I had to leave my coffee and run."

Contras: "Boarding was very confusing. There was an area where they were checking people's bags or something near the gate and you didn't know if you needed to stop at it or continue. They didn't collect garbage before landing. Not only did we have to take our bags off the plane, we had to carry our garbage (drink cups/food served) to the front of the plane to throw out."

Contras: "Our total flight time was about 17 hours - MAD- AMS-LAX. My husband and I both have an internationally approved carry on luggages with us. When we checked in - they asked us to both check in our carry on luggage. The reason why is because they said they don’t think they have enough space for our carry ons. I told the crew member checking us in that other people that was checking in with the same hand carry size luggage with us had no problems taking it with them. For being about to be on a 17 HOUR FLIGHT we should be ALLOWED to have our carry ons with us! We take carry ons for that reason! I had to argue and prove my case to the crew member to atleast keep 1 carry on with us. I thought that was an UNACCEPTABLE reason for us to check in a carry on luggage when we had a 17 hour travel time ahead of us. Not a happy costumer here."

Contras: "Had travelled KLM to Amsterdam on my first flight 27 years ago and the aircrafts are stuck in that age! Lousy seats, poor quality bathrooms, lousy screens, prefer not to fly them"

Contras: "Checking in was extensive for unaccompanied minor. But gate crew was very unnattentuve and though we showed up as first in line, they did not focus, and kept saying to wait. Ultimately our son was last person on the plane."

Prós: "Of the multiple international airlines I recently flew with, I would have to say KLM was by far the best. Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."
Contras: "Nothing."

Prós: "It was so easy to board and I had no inconvenience. It took 4 minutes from when I said goodbye to my family till when I was at the front of the gate."

Ground staff in Marseiile great but gate crew didn't control carry on baggage and many of us could not use overhead bins because of passengers who stowed more than one and often oversized suitcases above, so we and many others had to place carry on suitcases under seat. Attendant on plane totally unhelpful and could have rearranged a few bags to make room but preferred to stay in back of plane and talk. To be fair, rest of flight was pleasant although late due in part to boarding issues."

They would not check us in, and we paid over $700 to change tickets to the next flight. When I complained, I was told to stop being rude or I would get no ticket at all. My mother is 94 years old and we did the best we could given the circumstance."

Prós: "The crew was super friendly and always gave the feeling that they want the customers to feel comfortable and enjoy the flight. One of the crew members even offered me to move to an emergency exit seat (without me asking to move) because I am tall. Amazing!"

Poor communication between plane and ground crew. No explanation from pilot as to continuing reason for delay even after we boarded. Departure time, 1.00 pm, boarded at 1.10, actual departure time 1.45, causing me to almost miss my connection and definitely causing my bags to miss the connection."

"ergonomic" seats: uncomfortable, narrow, really close to the one in front of you. - Normal (exit row): just give up. There's like 6 of these and they're taken immediately. - Normal (middle of the plane): are you kidding me? These are NORMAL seats and you charge an extra €30? - Normal (2 seats per row!): what a bargain. Same crappy seats, but two people instead of three! This is really worth my money. - Upgrade to business! Why are you so poor! AF food went from being the best in international flights to disgusting microwave food (especially vegetarian)."
