I never see something like that before, I ask to her if everybody need to weight the carry on bag, She told me yes, but I stay on Checking places for a long time and I don't see anybody weight theirs carry on bags. Basically the company want to get my Money forced me to pay for extra weight."

What is exactly am I supposed to do in Bogota, Columbia for an unexpected additional 24 hours? I had no money, and my credit card wouldn't work there. This was the worst airline experience in my life. Absolutely horrible. I will never travel with Avianca again. Avianca staff spoke hardly any English, so I couldn't hardly communicate with them either. Horrible."

Prós: "Bag drop-off was quick and efficient for those checked-in online. Clean modern aircraft (A330) with decent space for economy class. Not spacious, but not cramped either. I felt comfortable for the entire six hour flight without leaving my seat. 2-4-2 seat layout in economy is pleasant. Food was satisfactory. From prior experience I know that the business class seats on Avianca's A330 are very comfortable with a lie flat 180 degree recline. Luggage delivery in Bogota is super-fast generally, although in this case it did not matter given the long immigration delay."
Contras: "Entertainment system took over 90 minutes to boot up properly, which also meant in-seat lighting was not working for this time. Immigration arrivals processing in Bogota took too long. Passengers were arriving without forms completed and immigration officers allowed them to fill them out at the immigration desks instead of sending them away. Queue control was unsatisfactory."

We had an emergency on board with a 3yo and the plane had no emergency kit for children. The seats for toddlers and children are not adequate for their height or weight. Seatbelts don't fit a child. They travel in such uncomfortable seats and conditions. The aircraft was a 190, too small to make passengers feel comfortable, and this is how Copa always manages their flights to all cities in Central America. Very poor service and old aircrafts. People are paying for a quality service not to be treated like cattle. You need to improve your services."

We were never asked about the infant traveling until we went to check in at the desk and were told we needed to pay taxes for the baby at a rate of 10% of the cost of the ticket. But because we were doing it on the day of the flight, 10% was almost $200! We did not receive good customer service from staff, who simply told us we "should have known to investigate this." We have never been asked to do this when flying with a baby before! This was after an hour and a half of already waiting to check in our bags. We were waiting so long and dealing with this issue for so long that we almost missed the flight! A terrible experience. Also, the web check in line took even longer than the line of people who had not checked in online beforehand! It was so slow, it added to us almost missing our flight. It was a waste of time to check in online, especially since they gave us new boarding passes when we checked our bags in anyway. We also had trouble finding both of our reservations, even though we booked them together as a family, so we ended up with seats that were not together. When we had an issue, we were given an attitude by the staff checking us in."

When it came time to return to Costa Rica, I understood that I had not purchased ANOTHER ticket to "prove" my intent to leave Costa Rica again three months in the future. I told the ticket agent I wishes to purchase a "fully refundable" ticket for a future flight, but she was (or professed to be) unable to assure me the ticket she was selling me was refundable. Upon return to Costa Rica, as before, immigration did not ask to see any such proof nor did they even ask my intentions. Isn't this called fraud? I did not need the ticket and, of course, in contacting Copa Airlines, I would have to return to Panama in order to even get a partial refund, which they won't guarantee. Not doing this again."

La señal para llamar por teléfono usando mi propia proveedor. Was told mixed things about this "new rule" and then paid $25 to have my carry on checked."

The notice board in the airport is confuse, we know the gate and the depart time, but no one show up until 120 min before the plane depart. And finally the plane delay and no information show the plane will delay for how long. Bad information in the counter My handle of the sit is broken I have photo to proof if you would need it, I save it with me. The lighting system in the plane is very stupid or may be the crew don't know how to operate, every time they just turn on all the light no matter we are sleep or not! This is a red eye flight passenger should have a choice to not get disturb, when the light on I need to turn it off every time! And the next passenger don't really know how to turn the light off that always on during the flight! Super bad flying experience. Not comfortable at all. Can't sleep much!"
Prós: "The snack - such as it is - is certainly a step above what I get when I fly the same route on United. Also the entertainment system is much better, and free! Cabin staff are friendly and efficient. The seating is about the same as on every other airline. I was in steerage for the Mexico City - San Jose leg. A lady was seated in my window seat when I boarded, and seemed surprised when I insisted on reclaiming my seat (She had the middle seat). In contrast to Mexico City, the San Jose airport is a model of efficiency. Immigration is rapid, luggage comes out on the carousel in good time, and best of all there is a duty free shop right in the luggage claim area, so it is unnecessary to buy liquor ahead of time."
Contras: "Mexico City is a terrible airport to have to pass through. Everyone has to go through Immigration (similar to US airports in that regard) even if just in transit. However, they have few officers there, and almost half of the available booths weren't even manned. The result was chaos, with the immigration hall filled with grouchy travellers, and other travellers stuck in aircraft waiting to disembark. Expect to be stuck in Immigration for a minimum of an hour after landing; maybe plan on 1 1/2 hours just to get through Immigration and Customs. And if you are making a connection, whatever you do don't go through the sliding doors on the other side of Customs - I made that mistake once! I speak Spanish, so the following comments are not coloured by language difficulties ... Security staff are unfriendly. While there is supposed to be free wifi in the departure lounge, I couldn't figure out how to use it. A gate agent told me there wasn't any free wifi, all the time standing beside a sign that said there was. I was also singled out for a spot check of my hand luggage right in the jetway. The unfriendly lady doing that search so disarranged my stuff that I couldn't find my Kindle when I got on the plane, so was without my planned reading material."

I needed to add my 2,4yr old to my trip.The Aromexico agent wanted to charge me over 1000.00 for the two children, to travel with me even though online the tickets were $200.00.They would not let me book my tickets online because the children were minors even though my ticket was already bought. I ended up purchasing tickets on delta to get to Cancun. However I was under the impression that I would return with Aeromexico on the round trip ticket I had already bought.NO! according to Aeromexico even though you buy a round trip ticket if you fail to use 1 leg of the trip you loose both ways WHAT! Then they refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor it was hands down the worst experience I have ever had with an airline in the 30 yrs that I have been traveling internationally. I would paddle boat rather than use this air again."

After debating with customer servinge several times and being forced to wait in line after being told things were fixed several time we had to threaten to record conversations and had someone call American Airlines headquarters and finally was able to get in the flight the same night. We at work be point were laughed at by an American Airlines customer service professional. I had purchased upgraded seats since I’m over 6 feet tall and they were not able to accommodate on the new flight, the flight was horrible and I had ton stand up every hour to make I the whole 12 hours."
Prós: "The crew was very friendly and accommodating. The food as usual just snack type food for purchase as expected. The entertainment system malfunctioned and we could not watch the movie they offered. However one flight attendant was very nice and gave my kids special cookies. Nice touch!"

There were only 2 people helping on check in (in machines) and these people were still not helping people (like me) with questions about on how to do check in in those machines. On the other hand to dispatch the bags there were almost 8 attendants to receive the bags. Ridiculous! I’ve tried calling American Airlines and Latam several times to assign a seat for me and they swore there were only middle seats but I know how airlines work to make extra money on these seats. At the end, they only gave me a middle seat option and I had to take I.t of course. On the plane I realized there were dozens of empty seats and yet they made sure not give them to me or anyone else. Unbelievable! Unfortunately I still have to use AA on my way back to Brazil. After this, I’ll chose another airlines for sure. Also, the 3,4,3 arrangement is ridiculous: there’s no corridor space making people touching you everything someone passes by your seat. And boy! Those seats are so uncomfortable and there’s no way to incline the chair so you can even have a little rest (because it’s impossible to even sleep on those seats). The crew were simply doing their jobs! No pleasure! No smile! No engaging with anyone unfortunately! They looked miserable and I asked for water and the flight attendant NEVER brought me anything. Seriously! Water is free!"

However, upon checking in, we found that the seats were not reserved and the fee was a marketing ploy. The airline attempted to separate our family of 3, but luckily it was not a full flight and we were able to sit together with no help from Kayak, JustFly, British Airways, or American. Kayak/JustFly made the experience of traveling overseas with a baby more challenging than it otherwise would have been which is a terrible way to conduct business. We will never be using these services again and will tell family and friends to do the same."

Do they honestly think the passengers forgot? We are in the plane too! I understand they have to be careful due to liability but this airline is ridiculous. Believe it or not customers do not like being treated like children. Would not recommend to others or fly this airline again. Also, the lunch was awful even by airline standards. Btw the airline was avianca not AA. kayak must have messed up or they are owned by AA. AA is great and I recommend them wholeheartedly but Avianca is awful. Stay away if you can afford to do so."

The flight was operated by AA, and they told me I wasn't on the flight, but after many phone calls LATAN assured me I was booked on the flight. When I got to the airport, I was not allowed to board my direct flight from GRU to LAX, instead I was sent to Miami then Charlestown , I took me an extra 12 hours to get home. I lost a day of work. Who's going to reimburse me for that ???"

Contras: "The flight was delayed 30 minutes causing me to lose the connecting flight home by about 5 minutes There was no effort from United to help me to get the second flight on time or from the crew on that one to delay it enough for me to arrive. They suggested I waited 9 hours for the next available flight or to get one by AA in Reagan Airport in 3 hours. They told me that transportation to that airport would not be reimbursed and would cost between 20 and 40 dollars. I didn't know the airports were that far apart and the one-hour taxi drive cost me 80 dollars. From Sao Paulo to Washington, things went as well as expected. Once landed everything was horrible."

Contras: "I bought tickets for a Lufthansa flight with a Lufthansa flight number and confirmation notice, only to wait in line to find that it was a United flight and United didn't list the baby's ticket number that was in the Lufthansa confirmation! lost an hour resolving ticket issues. When I pay for Lufthansa tickets, I expect to have a Lufthansa flight with their great service."

Prós: "The boarding process is terrible, because communication breakdown is inevitable. The crew on the plane are sometimes rude, and have no patience when passing seated passengers. One air hostess constantly bumped into my arm like a bull as she passed walking down the isle. Entertainment is practically non-existent on long flights unless you pay for it. Two of my flights were cancelled last minute with little to no remorse, and I had to wait 2 days to catch the next flight. That flight was even delayed more than an hour. I was sick by time I reached my destination. Overall, United would not be my 1st choice due to bad experiences numerous times."
Prós: "Since we were the last ones to arrive at the gate because of our delayed flight they had to check our carry-on baggage with the luggage we didn't have locks and nomally what we carry in that bag are fragile or valuable things. They should at least have plastic gauzes or fragile stickers to put on the bags. I don't know the reason but the flight attendants left about the last 6 rows of passengers without pretzels or drinks. There was no device to view movies. Leg space too tight."

When i purchased a ticket from cheapo air, the person helping me was so nice. Unlike United airlines, or Viama. When i missed my flight that i paid $1,300.00, United said they'd give me another ticket for $4,000? This was a one time offer to redeem my $1,300 Viama said $10,500? I will only buy my tickets from cheapo air from now on."
Contras: "The flight attendants are very snotty, 2 out of the 18 I encountered were polite. The rest acted like they hated their jobs, and all the passengers. When you travel to another country they should have at least one person who speaks English. Can't really say much for the food, essentially requesting a vegetarian meal was out of the question, so i just starve. Drink some watered down booze, take a few dramamine and sleep. The layovers are ridiculous. 14 hours, 8 hours 4 hours? Good thing God made Beer and pizza."

Contras: "After three years of flying all around US, realized United is the worst of the three major legacy carriers. I'm star alliance gold and it's still a painful experience. Crew admitted in latest redesign of planes they've managed to squeeze another six seats in coach. My seat wouldn't go back but even if it did, would feel too guilty for person behind to do it - so little legroom on newer planes. They've also cut down on restrooms so for most of the flight there was a line of 5-6 people waiting in the aisle. American Airlines seems to have older planes but at least decent legroom (and I'm not tall - anybody over 5'10 would have to sit at an angle on new United planes!). Been very impressed by Delta's service lately. United feels more like Spirit"

You should earn the clients - even economy passengers - when this seat is the one being assigned to them. I would payed beforehand to get a more comfortable seat if I'd known I was to fly on a no-reclining seat on an overnight flight."
Contras: "They delayed the flight due to "operational difficulties". I understand this happens, however, their communication towards customers was unacceptable. They first announced a 20 min delay, followed by another 30 min, then 30 more and then 30 more than then 30 more! They basically kept us at the gate for 2 1/2 hours until the found another plane. For a business like United, and flying out of their hub this is completely unacceptable. We ended up leaving at 11pm for a flight scheduled at 8. They didnt give anything in the plane to make up for it. No food, no free wifi, nothing."
