I understand this carrier needs to cater to a broad cultural and geographic audience, but I think they make it too complicated. Giving meal service a decidedly Japanese angle results in main courses that are mush, and sides that are OK. Good yogurt, decent fruit, delicately prepared salads, delicious cookies and hagen daz are pretty simple and make the meals fun. (especially since chop sticks are always included), but the ovens turn the main courses into a stinky and kinda nasty thing. I wish they would simplify."

No update was given to passengers while we flew far off course. I motioned to the flight attendant, who was seated due to turbulence warning, to ask why we were off-course, but she could not get up. Many passengers were pointing to the flight path animation, to point out that we were flying straight north, instead of southeast. The flight attendant then called the captain for an update, and then the captain finally made an announcement about weather delays around shanghai."

Avianca forced to to travel for over 36 hours and continued to have all of my rerouted flights delayed. It was the worst travel experience of my life and i received no help or compensation for missing all of my other flights. All thy gave me was one stale muffin. I will never fly with this airline again."

Prós: "When attempting to make the connection flight in Columbia, I was informed that I was being placed on standby due to overbooking by the airline. I was traveling with my service dog also. What is exactly am I supposed to do in Bogota, Columbia for an unexpected additional 24 hours? I had no money, and my credit card wouldn't work there. This was the worst airline experience in my life. Absolutely horrible. I will never travel with Avianca again. Avianca staff spoke hardly any English, so I couldn't hardly communicate with them either. Horrible."
Contras: "The screen in my daughter's seat did not work for the entire duration of the flight. It is the second time that something similar happens to my family or me while flying in this airline in the last two months."

Prós: "Bag drop-off was quick and efficient for those checked-in online. Clean modern aircraft (A330) with decent space for economy class. Not spacious, but not cramped either. I felt comfortable for the entire six hour flight without leaving my seat. 2-4-2 seat layout in economy is pleasant. Food was satisfactory. From prior experience I know that the business class seats on Avianca's A330 are very comfortable with a lie flat 180 degree recline. Luggage delivery in Bogota is super-fast generally, although in this case it did not matter given the long immigration delay."
Contras: "Entertainment system took over 90 minutes to boot up properly, which also meant in-seat lighting was not working for this time. Immigration arrivals processing in Bogota took too long. Passengers were arriving without forms completed and immigration officers allowed them to fill them out at the immigration desks instead of sending them away. Queue control was unsatisfactory."

Contras: "I had a flight with a connection starting at 6 PM on a Monday. At 5 AM the day of the flight I received notification that the first flight would be delayed, making connection impossible, I was prompted to select another flight to arrive to my destination. I chose a flight with a connection staring at 7 PM. Upon getting on the first flight we began to prepare for takeoff. After about 30 minutes the pilot notified us that we would be delayed 40 minutes because we had nowhere to land at my connection airport. I realized at that point that I would possibly miss my connection, which was scheduled at 10:20 PM. However, I did arrive at the connection airport around 9:40 PM which would have given just enough time to arrive at the connection gate. Unfortunately, upon arrival to the connection airport the pilot informed us that we would have no gate to de-board the plane. The pilot stated that all connections "were aware of our delay" and gave us the gates for each connection. I got off the plane at 10:15 PM and ran to my connection gate arriving exactly at 10:20. The gate attendants informed me that my flight had left, my bags were on the way to my destination city and that I would need to spend the night in the connection city. The attendants, appeared disinterested and impolite but upon prompting provided us with a hotel voucher for the night. The next day we arrived at the airport 2 hours before boarding and waited at the gate. When it was near the time for departure we were informed that the plane had been downgraded and requests were made for some to give up their seats for a later flight or check carryon bags to make room for other passengers. While some lined up to give up their seats and bags, those who chose to remain on the original flight were forced to wait before boarding the plane. We were then told that we would have to wait until the pilot and crew arrived before boarding. Scheduled departure time was 5:46 PM but the time got pushed back until we boarded around 6:30, departure was rescheduled to 6:50 PM. We boarded the plane and waited for departure but a few minutes later the pilot informed us that "he just got here" and that there were mechanical problems that would cause further delay. After an hour we were informed that the plane was not able to fly and instructed to go to another gate for another plane. Departure time got rescheduled to 8:30 PM. The plane departed after 9 PM and arrived at 10:30 PM for a 5:46 PM scheduled departure."

Bathrooms onboard were a pigstie."

Contras: "Employees at the Atlanta airport have a SERIOUS chip on their shoulders. Just when you thought seats couldn't get any smaller or closer together. Paid for priority boarding but the boarding pass still said zone 3. Employees could care less."

That then was delayed another 4 hours and I had to buy a rental car to drive home instead. Thus far they have been unresponsive in getting me a refund for my travel. Don't fly Delta."

Contras: "I was put on standby due to a “technical error” and then told I would not be able to board because the flight was oversold. Copa offered me a $400 voucher which I declined. Then I was told that it wasn’t negotiable. Sad that they wouldn’t offer more than $400 so that one of the other 100 passengers could have agreed to change."
Prós: "We were 7 people traveling together with 4 kids and the system gave us the emergency exit seats, the check in took over one hour (both ways) once inside I have to ask passengers to change seats with my kids because the crew didn’t do it"

Contras: "There is a second security check point right before you enter the gate area and you can't take any food or drink it which includes water. That made for a long wait with nothing to drink and once on board there was no extra water service."

Contras: "The boarding process was awful. They would only let 200 or so people sit in a small area meant for 75. The airport security then made us fo through a second screening. They took our drinks away. Afterwards, half tbe people had nowhere to sit. We had to stay in or section, we could not leave to go to the bathroom or go get anything to drink with out being screened again. This process started about 1 hour and 45 minutes before the flight. The technology in the flight was old, we were not able to see where our flight was in it travel path."

Prós: "I bought a return ticket from Panama City to Rio on Kayak and was not notified that a Yellow Fever shot was necessary for re-entry to Panama. Turned back at the air port in Rio I had to spend an extra 13 days in Rio de Janeiro at my expense, three to see doctor and get vacine, plus ren day waiting period."
Contras: "To change ticket I had to pay change fee plus fare difference. Copa said it was not their responsibility to notify passengers of health alerts and Kayak should be responsible. Needless to say I was on the hook for the time and the bill. I have flown Copa with satisfaction a number of times but this is enough to discourage me from ever flying them again and possibly ever using Kayak again."
Contras: "1. The flight departed two hours late. The airline offered no explanation or apology. We wound up landing in Washington at 2:00 a.m. 2. Boarding in Panama was chaotic. There was no P.A. system, so we had to strain to hear the shouting airline employees. 3. There were no individual entertainment monitors. There were screens that dropped down about every five rows. All passengers would have to watch the one movie selected by the airline. I was so far from the nearest screen that I could barely see it. 4. The food was awful. 5. The seats were very uncomfortable."
Prós: "I flew business class. Having extra leg and seat room made a huge difference in my comfort. The staff on both the flight down and on the flight back were wonderful. I have mobility issues and they made sure I could safely get up to the restroom and to stretch my legs when I needed to. I will definitely fly Copa again."

They said at the D.C. airport we would receive an email within 24 hours regarding our luggage. We didn't. They gave us a # to call - no one answered that #. We were supposed to get an email with our case # - we didn't. We were told on the plane we would get a bag of necessities - but we didn't. My husband had to keep calling different #'s to try to get ahold of someone to tell them about our luggage."

Contras: "We were faced with many difficulties throughout the process including delays at every stage (plane boarding, takeoff, bus shuttles, etc.) of four different flights. The flight to Panama City was a significantly more enjoyable experience, but the return trip was absolutely miserable. After being boarded, we waited on the runway with no explanation for over a half hour. Then the flight staff came through with a very mediocre dinner and drink; however, they never came back for anything else until the customs form, and any attempts to flag them down were fruitless. When I finally got their attention, I requested water, and never received it. It was an incredibly frustrating and thirsty experience."

Others had their rolling pieces brought onto the plane and there was enough room, so I was a little worried about if someone was going through it or if it would make it to the destination. Once arrived I had to connect to American Airlines flight and have to walk one mille and change to get to the other side of the airport. It will be ok, but I was with a 3 year old minor and I have to deal with this and the child"

Also I traveled with my 3 year old son and they gave us separated seats. And I asked if we can have better seats for the next fly and they refuse because they supposed to be full but I notice close to me was a empty row and someone noticed that and move to it. They could made the things a little more easy with a mom with a toddler. They used to be more considered"

Ended up breathing the most disgusting smell for hours, arrived to destination with an upside down stomach and nausea."
Prós: "the flight crew was so nice, and so collaborative. Im vegan and the ooption they had was vegetarian, but they figure out and got salad and fruit for me."

I have traveled with LATAM before and I had good experiences, with no complains. But the flight from Bogota to Miami on may 29th was mediocre and it seems longer than it was. That plane should be used for shorter flights and not a 4 hour international flight. I am not expecting first class seats and 5 course meals. But for the same price I could have used other airlines."

Got our luggage, got it retagged, and got us on another flight leaving almost immediately. We got to BA with no problems as did our luggage. Yay for your smart, resourceful, thoughtful and efficient ground crew in Iguazu. They deserve a special thanks."
