"The entertainment display was faulty."

Contras: "The flight and the entire process with American was just fine. What bothered me most was the rude treatment from security staff in Philadelphia. Compared to security staff overseas, the U.S. rates the lowest of the 55+ countries I've visited. It does not reflect badly on American Airlines, but it does give travelers a bad lasting impression. As an American, I'm embarrassed by their behavior."

Contras: "Was informed when we checked in that the flight we had purchased did not exists. We were informed thatcher would have to wait 24hours (after an already 7 hour layover) to catch another flight to Los Angeles. After debating with customer servinge several times and being forced to wait in line after being told things were fixed several time we had to threaten to record conversations and had someone call American Airlines headquarters and finally was able to get in the flight the same night. We at work be point were laughed at by an American Airlines customer service professional. I had purchased upgraded seats since I’m over 6 feet tall and they were not able to accommodate on the new flight, the flight was horrible and I had ton stand up every hour to make I the whole 12 hours."

Prós: "The only decent point was the food. Not great but at least edible."
Contras: "Since check in in São Paulo was a complete chaos. There were only 2 people helping on check in (in machines) and these people were still not helping people (like me) with questions about on how to do check in in those machines. On the other hand to dispatch the bags there were almost 8 attendants to receive the bags. Ridiculous! I’ve tried calling American Airlines and Latam several times to assign a seat for me and they swore there were only middle seats but I know how airlines work to make extra money on these seats. At the end, they only gave me a middle seat option and I had to take I.t of course. On the plane I realized there were dozens of empty seats and yet they made sure not give them to me or anyone else. Unbelievable! Unfortunately I still have to use AA on my way back to Brazil. After this, I’ll chose another airlines for sure. Also, the 3,4,3 arrangement is ridiculous: there’s no corridor space making people touching you everything someone passes by your seat. And boy! Those seats are so uncomfortable and there’s no way to incline the chair so you can even have a little rest (because it’s impossible to even sleep on those seats). The crew were simply doing their jobs! No pleasure! No smile! No engaging with anyone unfortunately! They looked miserable and I asked for water and the flight attendant NEVER brought me anything. Seriously! Water is free!"

Contras: "I understand some delays can occur due to tecnical problems and most of the times they are out of control but negative issues related to communications they are controllable and they must be reviewed and implemente properly."

Contras: "I didn't like anything else about the flight. My seat was broken and the seats are incredibly cramped! Absolutely no leg room whatsoever. I am 6 feet tall which is an average male height so I can't imagine how anyone taller fits in those seats."

Contras: "Film selection was subpar, and had no subtitles available. Flight safety information video so unbelievably boring. Flight crew repeated all instructions at least 3 times including video interruptions. What is the point of having in flight entertainment if crew will interrupt said entertainment at least once every 10 min to remind you you are still in turbulent air? Do they honestly think the passengers forgot? We are in the plane too! I understand they have to be careful due to liability but this airline is ridiculous. Believe it or not customers do not like being treated like children. Would not recommend to others or fly this airline again. Also, the lunch was awful even by airline standards. Btw the airline was avianca not AA. kayak must have messed up or they are owned by AA. AA is great and I recommend them wholeheartedly but Avianca is awful. Stay away if you can afford to do so."

Contras: "Overnight stay due to missed flight with no luggage or medication."

Prós: "The Space And Comfort Of The Plane Was Very Pleasant."

Contras: "I did not fly I lost my flight they had a problem with the airplane on my flight from brasilia to sao paulo so I arrived late lost the connection to my other flight from Sao Paulo to LAX. Also they lost my luggage. LATAM and American Air Lines doesnt know where my luggage is. I arrived at my LAX 12 hours after. They still dont know where my luggage is"

Contras: "I had my reservation cancelled despiste numerous phone calls. The flight was operated by AA, and they told me I wasn't on the flight, but after many phone calls LATAN assured me I was booked on the flight. When I got to the airport, I was not allowed to board my direct flight from GRU to LAX, instead I was sent to Miami then Charlestown , I took me an extra 12 hours to get home. I lost a day of work. Who's going to reimburse me for that ???"

Prós: "Crew are cold. Babies crying. Dogs parking. And strong headwinds flying in from Boston made this flight uncomfortable"

Contras: "The crew definitely needs to be changed. There needs to be hostesses who are more attentive and actually care about their passengers."

Contras: "Reclining chair sometime is not working."

Contras: "How does American think it can get away with a mediocre business class fitting and charge the same as Lufthansa and United? In this flight, the did recline 170º but formed a ramp that did slowly slide the passenger under the set in front of him. I'd recommend someone from AA should fly Lufthansa Business Class or Singapore Airlines Business to check out how it should be done! ANd then, flying a beaten up 777-200er while its competitors fly 787 is nonhing but a shame!"

Contras: "Food and distribution of the food. Unfortunately on my flight the flight attendant was so busy that forgot to come back for the water/coffee drinks."

Contras: "I was delayed for an hour leaving Tampa and my connection in Charlotte was canceled. So I did not get into JFK until 12:15 in the morning. I asked for a food voucher from American in Charlotte and was denied after waiting so many hrs in Charlotte to get on a 10.05pm to jfk, that was terrible."

Contras: "Boarding took forever. Leaving the gate took forever. Dude next to me was crazy rude to me and the flight attendant."

Contras: "The flight kept getting delayed, and the airline kept having different reasons, do we did not take the flight. It was delayed so long we would have missed our connection in dulles."

Contras: "The flight was delayed 30 minutes causing me to lose the connecting flight home by about 5 minutes There was no effort from United to help me to get the second flight on time or from the crew on that one to delay it enough for me to arrive. They suggested I waited 9 hours for the next available flight or to get one by AA in Reagan Airport in 3 hours. They told me that transportation to that airport would not be reimbursed and would cost between 20 and 40 dollars. I didn't know the airports were that far apart and the one-hour taxi drive cost me 80 dollars. From Sao Paulo to Washington, things went as well as expected. Once landed everything was horrible."

Prós: "The crew were super! Extremely attentive and always gracious."

Contras: "In both flights the in flight entertainment don’t work, you need to pay for a service that is free in other airlines"

Contras: "It's a 6 hour flight and not even a sandwich? Food on boeard is for sale. Same with movies or TV shows."

Contras: "The fight to flint was canceled last night beacuse they had no captian. What the heck!!! My mom is a senior citizen and the last thing she needed to be doing was schlepping all of her things to and from the airport in fridged temps. She’s battling a major cough and is now so exhausted!! This is totally unacceptable...not to have a captian?!???! Please respond as to how I will be reimbursed or what I can do to feel satisfied."

Contras: "The crew. It was obvious she does not like her job. She seemed as if the people are an inconvenience and everything was so repetishous."

Prós: "Flight was fine. Food OK but to be expected. Entertainment good as per usual on United."
Contras: "My least favorite thing about flying to Dulles is getting on those ridiculous people movers to go to customs and immigration s. Creates a larger cluster of people at immigration and something else I have to wait on. Also - why is GRU already using buses for boarding 787s? The new terminal just opened three years ago-- missed opportunity."

Contras: "The flight was more than half empty and instead of allowing customers to move forward to the “premium” seats, the flight crew keep everyone all bunched up in the back of the plane. It would have been a nice customer service gesture to allow people to move forward. And, hey, maybe next time people would have bought those seats if they could have experienced them. Guess I should have felt lucky to remain on the plane and not get punched in the face..."

Prós: "The staff was friendly and professional . Announcements were spoken clearly. It was a nice flight to be on. You could tell everyone was doing a good job."

Contras: "I was forced to buy another ticket from another airline because it was cheaper, rather than change flights because of military orders. I also have to to another airport. zero customer service"

Prós: "Ease of boarding and security checking bag at gate"
Contras: "Check in kiosk couldn't scan phone was glad to unload my carry-on and check it for free. Should be encouraged to check 1 bag for free from start for smaller bags. Flight attendant was crabby when I tried to squeeze past into my seat. She kind of apologized by being nicer to me after that. They kind of yelled at passengers to take their seats to take off. I liked United. Too bad about the incident I read about. I was on a flight with no available seats to LA and thought someone had taken my seat. Turns out I was reading it wirong on my phone abd the last seat available was actually mine."

Prós: "Stewardesses were nice"
Contras: "Captain did not show. Had to wait 45 minutes for a new crew!"

Prós: "They put me and my son in the very last row of the airplane. I realize this is probably the only way I could afford to fly so I will put up with it, but it isn't very comfortable for 73 year old woman."

Contras: "We were not told about the 20 min delay over the speaker from Newark to Flint Flight attendant basically ignored us for drinks and picking up garbage Newark to Flint"

Contras: "Delay after delay after delay"

Prós: "This is by far the best flight experience ever: spacious leg room-awesome, snack and complimentary drink-bomb.com, and got 20 min earlier than expected-smooth as butter. I love United."

Contras: "- There wasn't space for my bag to go overhead - There were no options for food or entertainment - My seat was very cramped"

Prós: "There were maybe two of the flight attendants. Who weren't rude. The rest well, I guess didn't like there jobs? I lost all my money for my first flight, because i was over 4 hours late. When i purchased a ticket from cheapo air, the person helping me was so nice. Unlike United airlines, or Viama. When i missed my flight that i paid $1,300.00, United said they'd give me another ticket for $4,000? This was a one time offer to redeem my $1,300 Viama said $10,500? I will only buy my tickets from cheapo air from now on."
Contras: "The flight attendants are very snotty, 2 out of the 18 I encountered were polite. The rest acted like they hated their jobs, and all the passengers. When you travel to another country they should have at least one person who speaks English. Can't really say much for the food, essentially requesting a vegetarian meal was out of the question, so i just starve. Drink some watered down booze, take a few dramamine and sleep. The layovers are ridiculous. 14 hours, 8 hours 4 hours? Good thing God made Beer and pizza."

Prós: "Ease in check in and boarding."
Contras: "Plane size was small until I mentally adjusted."

Prós: "Very windy during flight, kudos to pilot and crew"

Prós: "-I upgraded to a better seat for $100 to seat 10C from 32A? -so much room -charging outlet -super friendly crew -thankful for beverage and snack -was able to watch Ghostbusters II on Halloween night and it made me feel better about not being home with my family and missing Halloween with them. Thank you for providing entertainment/cable -best 4 hours I spent on a plane -flight was delayed due to refueling, but I was I didn't mind -can I say I love United."

Contras: "6'2" broad shoulders and uncomfortable. Sitting by the window meant my leg had to be 5 inches over due to the curvature of the plane. Both of my knees were on the back of the seat and I was at an angle. The lady next to me looked like she did't like me being turned toward her. Many extra seats including the emergency exit row (that has more room) was available when we took off but I was told we couldn't sit there without paying extra. Cheap 1 hour flight. Won't tolerate it for anything else."

Prós: "I was pleasantly surprised when they announced those with large carry ons could get tagged and pick up at final destination."
