"The terminal on my ticket was different than the gate number. We went through security and had to take a 15 min shuttle to a different terminal. Why not just go through security there? There were also no attendants at the gate to discuss seat assignments. My husband and I didn’t have seats together. Try on board crew was great, but the airport experience was lacking."

Had we missed the flight, we would have had to spend the night in Detroit and go to Boston the next day. Delta should have told the gate agent that we were coming."

Prós: "Even though we were in the very back row, we did not experience a foul smell from the restrooms. This was a very nice relief. It is bad enough that the seats don't recline and there is no window in the very back row but prior experience with the added nausea of foul restroom order has been a serious insult to injury. In this case there was really minimal odor. Also since we are traveling as a family we are very happy that we were seated together. We have experienced the past that sometimes our seats will be fragmented and that creates major challenges when you are traveling with young children. However on this particular flight the ride was rough during both takeoff and landing, a lot of side to side shimmy. Also the cabin pressure varied quite a bit during landing causing all the kids to complain about some discomfort in their ears."
Prós: "About 10-15 yrs ago I stopped transatlantic flights on Delta. It was a scruffy airline with uninterested cabin crew & not to talk of food etc. What a change! Neat clean A330, friendly crew & food + beverages to brag (you pay outrageous prices on 'leaner-meaner' airlines if at all available). Loved the whole experience. Flying is not only getting from A to B & Delta has realized it. Looking forward to my next Delta flight!"

We were not informed of this additional security screening prior to arriving at this gate. I wish we were informed ahead of time and/or there was some water provided in the secure gate area."

All our questions were simply ignored. They gave us coupons for food for ten dollars. Nothing can be bought with that money. And they didn’t have coupons for everyone so had to wait a lot until they brought all the coupons. Boarding was a nightmare. Crew couldn’t care less. A woman refused to seat far from her “kids” (about 9 and 14) and flight attendants didn’t do anything ti stop the woman from blocking the aisle. We were already almost three hours late. Overall the worst experience."

Prós: "COPA offers excellent service! Their newer aircrafts have individualized monitors on each head rest for added control of what one wishes to view. Clean and spacious aircraft. Nice crew and bountiful beverage/ meal service. Fair luggage allowance and flight options will keep us coming! Keep it up!"
Contras: "Panamanian TSA has a second checkpoint at each gate. This means you get the general check we are all used to, but at the gate there's a second patdown and x-ray where liquids purchased inside the terminal are discarded or you have to exit the gate area to drink it! People had to give up their sealed, duty free bags and we had to give up our cans of soda we had just purchased. Fuller disclosure- in Spanish and English- should be given to patrons at stores and BEFORE entering the gate to avoid displeasure. We know drug traffickers are slick, but innocent people don't appreciate the inconvenience. My son's blunt tip, plastic, safety scissors were also taken at this airport because of the thin "blade" affixed to the plastic, but it left the USA in his school pencil case without any issues on our way there."

Multiple people stood in the aisle to use the restrooms (6-7) which meant they were in our faces (I thought the US limited how many people can stand in line on a plane post 9/11); people also got up and did not pay attention to seat belt signs throughout the flight and the crew did nothing. The film was the same one shown Southbound, not as listed in magazine. We were late taking off and late landing (the latter beyond the captain's control, don't know about why we were late to take off)."
Prós: "Free alcohol (not just beer and wine) and decent dinner on the flight from BOS to PTY. Flights were on time and my two pieces of checked luggage made it through no problem. Crew seemed friendly."
Contras: "Airplane interior was spotlessly clean, but is a bit of a throwback (cloth seats that seemed kind of small). Don't expect entertainment screens or charging ports, although my connecting flight did have these. Depends on which plane you get, I suppose. I couldn't hear anything the pilot was saying over the loudspeaker. Hopefully they can upgrade their fleet. BTW if you have a choice of doing a really long layover at the Panama airport, don't. Crappy amenities with nothing but overpriced American fast food."

Also I was given an exit seat and was literally the first person in line that morning to check in but when I boarded I was told I had to move my seat because I didn't speak spanish... So why assign me the seat in the first place. Also flight was delayed about an hour and a half NOT due to weather conditions."

Contras: "Slightly scary landing under windy conditions at BOS-- came in fast and braked very hard. Copa pilots are new to Logan runways, which also happen to be under re-construction this year."
Contras: "I traveled with my family from San Francisco to Brazil We were told that we should get the Yellow Fever vaccine even before we leave San Francisco. We called Copa and every time each of us talked to Copa we were given a different instruction. Very confusing and stressful. We decided not to get the vaccination, taking into consideration the cost of it, $159.00 for each family member!!!"
Contras: "I did not care for the fact that they set up a checkpoint after I made my connecting flight then made me recheck through security at which point they tried to confiscate our very expensive duty free purchase that was in a sealed duty free bag! Only when I demanded a manager did they stop trying to confiscate it. At which point they made me check my carry on luggage! I find this very suspicious since I also discovered that someone tried to access the inside of my luggage at Panama City on the initial flight! Your crew on the ground and in the terminals in Panama City are running scams! Beware! Very disturbed by this and plan on sharing this on social media as a beware to copa travelers going through or to Panama City! Literally set up check point at ramp to plan confiscating stuff bough in the terminal after already going through security!"

Contras: "Food was awful, offered "rice or pasta" chose rice without knowing it had red meat and the other had chicken. Meat was hard and horrible to chew, asked for a different tray for my husband and I and we were told "only if there are some left". About 50 min later, the attendant showed up with two trays when they were starting to pick up old trays. Entertainment was ok.. Played lion on small overhead screens After over 1h at passport control, our luggage wasn't there, they sent a few suitcases and told us that was it but then They made us wait like 15 more min for our suitcases... Bad experience"

Contras: "Two bathrooms for 200 people. Front bathroom reserved for 6 1st class passengers?! Boarded and had to de-plan because the captain wasn't ready. Delayed 1.5 hours, then made us go through security check again because their staff didn't secure the gate when we de-planed."
Prós: "The crew were great! The seats are not that comfortable, it happened that I had 3 seats raw for myself but the armrests were not going up so I could not utilize them and lie down to sleep."

I will follow this up with KLM when I go home from my holiday."

Prós: "Of the multiple international airlines I recently flew with, I would have to say KLM was by far the best. Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."
Contras: "Our flight was canceled from Amsterdam to Bordeaux and did not receive any direction and had to find alternate flights for ourselves with the personal expense of using our own cell phones. Then our luggage lost for 3 days. Not happy!"

As a result, we had to exit the secured area in Rio to go check in manually again for our connection and then go through security and customs again."

After the 3 hours passed they were only announcing in Portuguese to board the original plane. They never changed planes or provided a clear explanation to the passengers. Many of us refused to board. This was one of the worse experiences I have ever had. The staff was disrespectful and would not help us. We ended up taking another flight until the following night!!"
