"I have some pictures to prove it , my flight from SP to Fort Lauderdale I could not sleep at all. Not only me but the passenger in front of me . The seat was broken, where you rest your head it was falling apart, I tried to put it back but kept falling. The flight attendant tried once and gave up . I asked to change seats and they did not let me do . I had to fly basically straight all night , I could not rest my head on the seat. Never again with this company"

All of Azul’s staff are incompetent laZy workers!"

Contras: "Rude flight attendants Rude gate / entry attendants No guidance was given to passengers prior to boarding regarding how long it would be until boarding so everyone was just standing around pushing toward the doors. Long, unorganized boarding process. Attendants just allowed everyone to gather in front of the doors so rude passengers pushed their way to the front and cut the "line." No tvs in the seats. I am vegetarian and was not given a vegetarian option! Very Inconsiderate of this airline. Even worse, the flight attendant basically told me that it was my fault because I didn't ask for one in advance. Extremely poor customer service! Had I been asked, I would have requested a vegetarian meal but I did not see that option when booking."

Contras: "I bought my ticket in June with a window seat. When I got to Copa check in they told me I didn’t have an assigned seat (and I got there very early) and that she couldn’t help me get a seat assignment until I got to the gate. Then at the gate very poor customer service and she gave me a middle seat without even really looking at the flight. On thr flight food was mediocre. Not good aircirculation on the flight, ac was not good. And I was also on the last group to board, boarding process was a disaster. Will not use Kayak again."

Contras: "The tickets we paid for back in August of 2017 were bought for a direct flight. When checking in for our flight back to JFK on March 18th, they told us there were no seats available. They then put us on a connecting through Orlando, all of us had to sit separately now. We had to each spent money we did not intend to use for this vacation on food since our day was well extended beyond expected and parking fees for keeping our car at JFK longer. Once arrived in Orlando, two out of the four of us missed our flight to JFK because they gave us the wrong boarding passes and because we are students in college, lost multiple hours of studying tonight. We had to then work with Delta who was kind enough to find us a flight multiple hours later. Like said before, this split our group up and caused multiple difficulties. We will never fly Copa again. They believe a $400 Copa airlines voucher is justifiable for what happened but it is not. I’ll never fly with them again for this inconvenience so a voucher doesn’t do anything."

Contras: "They oversold the flight, so twenty minuted before the plane I found I out they were not giving me a seat and that I had to fly in a plane 14 hours later!!!"

Contras: "They canceled our flight without notice, did not help us find a hotel or another flight and offered us a flight five days later in a foreign country. I am an American from USA and we should cut all contact with COPA airlines immediately."

Contras: "The fact that you do not allow water in the waiting area at the gate after passing the first security check is utterly ridiculous! if you want to enforce that policy you should provide free water at the gate. it was overheated and crowded to the brim and my wife went to get water after having gone through the second security check. She paid $10 for 2 bottles of water at the stand just before the gate and when she tried to come in again they did not allow her to go through... really a ridiculous situation!"

Contras: "The seat was too small. I am 5' 5" and 135 lb and it felt totally small and uncomfortable. I had trouble sitting all the time, the seat also doesn't recline enough. This was a totally awful trip due to the seat."

Contras: "Not only were we not told in advance that we'd have to go through security again in order to sit in the gate area, but we weren't allowed to bring in beverages we bought right next to the gate and there was no bathroom in the area we were being held before we were boarded. You'd have to go through security again. Also, the security guard accused my tall, black, injured, elderly father of being suspicious because he was sweating in spite of the fact that she wouldn't let him drink water unless he left the gate area even though he was injured. Never flying Copa again and never going to Panama again, not even for a layover."

Prós: "Arrived at the gate about 1 hour before departure due to heavy traffic. Attendant was pleasant and did a quick checkin."

Contras: "I was on the last row of the plane. I didn't know the plane could move SO MUCH!!! All passengers in that last row were sick with nausea and throwing up, which shows it wasn't only me! If passengers are going to be so uncomfortable in the last row, it should be sold at all!"

Contras: "It was one of the most uncomfortable flights I've ever had. I was in seat 10E of a Boeing 737: in front of the exit row and could not recline my seat. The woman to my right was close to 300 lbs and was spilling into my seat. The gentleman next to me kept putting his elbows in my side. The cabin was way too hot -- uncomfortably so -- and the air vents barely pushed out air. The entertainment system on the plane was broken. I couldn't wait to land in NY."

Contras: "On top of what happened with the flight from NY to Panama the situation wasnt handle any better for the conexion. There was not priority conection to the inmediate following flight to Bogota. We had to wait four more hours to go to Bogota. Also the sits were accomodated terribly for me (I can understand they had to use what was available) but if Im traveling with a minor the airline should make sure the child is seated next or near me. Even though, I understood it was a detail that simply they did not control correctly, I requested to two flight attendants to please fix the problem for me, but I was totally ignored by both. When I told them a second time, they said to me there was nothing they can do. But coincidencially, right after I was told, he sat one passanger whom have not seat assigned, right in front of me on the emergency exit. The attendant said minors cant go there which is true, but I would have seated there, and my daughter on the sit that I was which was right behind me. That plus another rude encounter with one of the flight attendants when I was getting into the plane made of my experience with Copa Airlines my first and only trip with them. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE."

Contras: "Travel agency accessed through kayak (kiwi travel) didn’t allow for online check in ahead of time. It also didn’t allow for seat selection ahead of time, so I was stuck with middle seats both ways."

Contras: "Flight was first delayed 1 hour then jumped to 3 more hours. Gate was constantly changing so we relaxed at a nearby gate. Never heard a boarding call. Then there's a security check right before you get on the plane so we have to throw away bottles of water that were bought in the terminal after passing initial security. Ridiculous!! How are we to keep hydrated on a 10 hour flight without being able to bring water on the plane?? The flight attendants should, at least, come around with cups of water. Service on LAN was excellent 10 years ago but has deteriorated when it changed to LATAM."

Prós: "Airline misallocated multiple seats to multiple passengers causing great confusion and delay"

Contras: "I needed to change my flight because of a death in the family. To change my flight was more expensive than the initial ticket itself. That is ridiculous. You should not do that to people. There should be a $300 change fee and that's it. At most. The entertainment would be good if I could hear it - but I couldn't. The sound was terrible. Uncomfortable seats. Barely slept. Overal terrible experience. Also turn on the damn entertainment while we are waiting on the tarmac - why wait until we are in the air? Almost every other airline - all the good ones - Emirates, Lufthansa, and other quality airlines - will let you access the in flight entertainment as soon as you sit. But the change cost of the ticket was the most offensive thing. I feel robbed, in a time of tragedy."

Explanation was they had technical problems with original plane and they had to replace it with smaller one and everybody else used online checkin in last 48 hours...Everybody else used online checkin?! Is that the rule? Last 48 h of my trip in Peru i did not have internet access, but if it's the only way to get your seat, you paid for months in advance, then I would find some solution. At the end, staying persistent in our request,we were on the scheduled flight (some "miracle" happened and we got 2 seats, next to each other, as same as couple from counter next to us)"

Very cheerful and very caring and considerate. Must keep saying how good the staff was!"

Contras: "The plane on the first flight was quite old and the entertainment console was obsolete. The plane for the return flight was a new one, vey nice but the seats were hard and very uncomfortable."

Prós: "I flew business on the new airplane the Dreamliner. The experience was overall good. Very comfy plane. Slept like a baby. The food was the only bad thing I skipped both meals as it tasted like airplane food or frozen food out of a box."

Prós: "Flight schedule, inflight service and food in couch was amazingly the best I had in a long time. The entertainment was delightful. The telephone service for questions, while in Peru, was terrible. My flight reservation number was changed and I needed to talk to someone. I had to call the States help line instead of the local number which had a non working automated answering menu."

Prós: "Everything. The while team was friendly, from check in on the ground all the way into the air."

Contras: "Company was not able to understand situation and did not offer solution. I lost my money"

Incompetent, zero clue as to handle a delayed flight forced every passenger to hand over passports into communal plastic bags and took them for 2 hours somewhere in the airport unknown to us. I should never have to give up my passport into plastic bags/strangers EVER. They lost my customs paper, and then proceeded to accuse me of "selling it"--They took it after I passed through customs initially and if they put it back in passport after they threw them all in plastic bags- god knows where it is, or who's hands it was in who may have took it. They would not give us food vouchers, or water. They couldn't figure out how to get buses and hotel rooms for people- basic simple business skills-- add number of passengers going to hotel, calculate number of seats per bus and that will get you the number of buses needed--- they couldn't figure that out. I will call and give more detail, I promise."

Contras: "The seats were the smallest seats I've ever say in and I felt claustrophobic. Checking into this flight was a disaster and impossible. Tam would redirect me to Tam airlines and Lan would redirect me to Lan. The Lan customer service was unable to get into the Tam airlines flight so we emded up with the most awful chairs in the airline. I wish they would fix their website so checkin isn't as frustrating as it was for me. I understand the airlines merged but if each airline is unable to access eachothers flight then how exactly did you merge? ALSO when we got off the first flighy to connect in this one they gave us no explanation until 20min later to where we should commect to this flight. They MADE US WALK A 20min WALK TO ANOTHER TERMINAL WITH ALL OUR BAGS. It was awful. If your gonna need people to walk to another terminal the least you can do is supply a shuttle."

Prós: "Boarding was made extremely easy for the tired, seniors, and people with children."
Contras: "The crudeness of some of the Air Hostesses was appalling. The food was unpalatable and no tolerance for people who were lactose intolerant. Narrow aisles, so going to the dirty toilets needed ingenuity!"

I told that I had bought the Gol + Confort that have exclusive compartment to the hand baggage and I had showed my receive of the seat but they sayd that this benefits do not exist and took my baggage of me to drop off. It was an absurd and the worse thigh was that when I arrived at my seat, the exclusive space for my baggage was there available for my baggage and I had to drop off because the employee of the Gol didn’t know about this benefit of Gol + Confort seat and didn’t check out if really wasn’t space to my baggage"

It felt like I was sitting at a table in a kindergarten classroom, not a chair meant for an adult. In the upgraded seat I was very comfortable. Staff on board was friendly and helpful throughout the flight."
Contras: "I haven't flown American Airlines in quite a while and one gets quite spoiled flying on Emirates or Qatar or Singapore or Norwegian or whatever other airlines. It's easy to forget how utterly mediocre AA is. The food isn't great, the air quality on the flight is terrible and leaves you feeling oily. They don't air-condition the plane until after everyone is boarded so the whole process is hot, sweaty, and unpleasant. Many of the staff are flat out rude to people (I was never on the receiving end, but I overheard what I considered very abrasive tones to others). And so on. Ideally I'd fly on other airlines I think."

Contras: "The Wi-Fi was not free and quite expensive. The space between seats was too narrow for my legs resulting in an uncomfortable journey. The entertainment was dated and not varied enough. The food was borderline unsavoury. The wines were cheap... Not an airline I would recommend to anyone."

Prós: "Nothing!!! This was a horrible flight experience!!! I will never use American Arilines again especially their Barcelona connections."
Contras: "I would never use American Airlines again. Horrible service at the check-in service at Barcelona Airport. I travel around the world for work and each year I fly to more than 12 international locations but never had a horrible experience like this. My carry-on bag is 21” carry-on bag that I traveled in more than 20 countries for the past 3 years but American Airlines staff members at the check insisted that my carry-on bag does not fit the FAA regulations and they threatened me multiple times when I protested their attitudes. I am an avid traveler and I know my rights as a traveler but the American Airlines staff members were extremely rude and insisted that I have to check-in my carry-on bag. The real issue was that regardless of the size of the carry-on bags, they were forcing almost all passengers to heck-in their carry-on bags a clear indication of money-making scheme. When I protested their attitude, they threatened me saying that I pose a security risk and that they would not check me in but I stabbed my grounded insinuated that my bag fits the FAA regulations. I booked this flight from Bristish Airways and this was a code shared flight, I called British Airways in December 22nd and confirmed the measurements of my carry-on bag but when I told American Airlines about the Bristish Airways, they told me “they don’t care, this American Airlines not British Airways”. It was humiliating, it was disrespectful, and it was unacceptable!!!! At the end, I removed one sweater from carry-on and the issue was resolved but after this experience, I will never never fly with American Airlines and never recommend anyone to use American Arilines especially their Barcelona flights and connections."

Prós: "The flagship first seats in American Airlines are among the best in class given that I only flew from Miami to JFK. Fully flat beds and ample room."

Contras: "To start, I had paid extra to upgrade to a seat with more leg room only to find I had been reassigned to the back of the plane. This was after I had already done an online check-in for the appropriate seat. Then I was told by the AA agent at the desk that my upgrade was in the system but that it was “fake”. Apparently the money I paid two months before was no good on this flight. I was traveling with my boyfriend and they would not allow us at the same counter because we were not married. After much haggling we were finally able to rectify the situation. Horrible start. Then, once on the plane, the in- flight entertainment system as well as the lights broke right before take off so there was nothing to watch or see for an almost 8 hour flight."

Contras: "Plane was less than half full yet the crew appeared pressured .... one crew member didn’t wait for me to complete my request and she brought me eat phones yet I wanted to ask for water to drink! Seats don’t recline much ...."

Contras: "These planes are always SO cramped. We paid to be in the section with 9 seats across instead of 10 which was worth it but wish that they would just give everyone slightly more space - seems humane for such long flights! The group boarding on these huge planes always seems chaotic. Also it seems like it would honestly make more sense to start at the back and move forward. Would have less waiting for people in front of you to get settled. Wish the last snack had a piece of fruit or something with a bit more healthy aspect."

Prós: "This plane is much better than the American Airlines plane I usually get stuck with on my 8 hour direct flight from JFK to MXP. Please stop using the Boeing 767 jets and only use the Boeing 777 for flights across the Atlantic. I would like to fly American more frequently but not if I think I'm going to get stuck with the planes from the 1980s where there's no personal TV, no place to plug in my phone or electronics to charge unless you carry around a car charger, which I definitely don't, and there's no WiFi on those planes either."
Contras: "Boeing 767 Jets! The food is blah - Delta and Emirates is better. The entertainment needs a bit of an update. Or maybe I just fly too often..."

Prós: "Flight crew was nice"
Contras: "Checking in, the counter agent first told us we would need a visa to go to the USA. We are American citizens. Then she insisted that we buy checked bag allowance even though our tickets already included checked bags. We had already flown the 1st leg with checked baggage, why would we purchase tickets with no baggage allowance coming home?! The stroller we gate checked was left at the end of the oversized baggage carousel because of the ground crew not wanting to unload gate checked items. I will never EVER fly an AA codeshare flight."

Prós: "Asked a stewardess to turn the heat up and she did."
Contras: "Freezing cold air conditioning. Every person I could see was wrapped up in their blanket before we had even taken off."

Contras: "Food and drinks could be better"

Contras: "Female cabin crew were aggressive, discourteous and frankly rude to the passengers when they had to verbally communicate. I hear this so often with American cabin crew. When I started to experience this I became aware of the same trend in regard communications with other passengers. Very unattractive."

Prós: "Very nice and genuinely friendly flight attendants and ground personnel. Flight arrived early, perfect landing and take off."
Contras: "Kayak/webjet sent me the wrong check in code for the wrong airline operating my flight. I inserted it on the online form multiple times until I was blocked from doing so, and there was no link to communicate online in real time with anyone who could solve the problem. This was extremely stressful and unnecessary, as well as time consuming. It was not how I wanted to spend my final night in Italy. Furthermore, I had to wake up at 4 am to get a very early bus to the airport in order to check in early enough in person. NOT cool. The food was mediocre. The entertainment options were about the worst I've ever seen. My seat hardly went back at all."

Prós: "Due to a strong tailwind we arrived 45 minutes ahead of schedule. Great service with attentive attendants. However the plane was older than me, no real entertainment system or outlets to plug in smart devices."
Contras: "Plane needs to be retired or retrofitted to accommodate smart device charging."

Prós: "The only decent point was the food. Not great but at least edible."
Contras: "Since check in in São Paulo was a complete chaos. There were only 2 people helping on check in (in machines) and these people were still not helping people (like me) with questions about on how to do check in in those machines. On the other hand to dispatch the bags there were almost 8 attendants to receive the bags. Ridiculous! I’ve tried calling American Airlines and Latam several times to assign a seat for me and they swore there were only middle seats but I know how airlines work to make extra money on these seats. At the end, they only gave me a middle seat option and I had to take I.t of course. On the plane I realized there were dozens of empty seats and yet they made sure not give them to me or anyone else. Unbelievable! Unfortunately I still have to use AA on my way back to Brazil. After this, I’ll chose another airlines for sure. Also, the 3,4,3 arrangement is ridiculous: there’s no corridor space making people touching you everything someone passes by your seat. And boy! Those seats are so uncomfortable and there’s no way to incline the chair so you can even have a little rest (because it’s impossible to even sleep on those seats). The crew were simply doing their jobs! No pleasure! No smile! No engaging with anyone unfortunately! They looked miserable and I asked for water and the flight attendant NEVER brought me anything. Seriously! Water is free!"

Contras: "I hate American airlines. It is the WORST. We were held for almost 4 hours waiting for "maintenance call" then flight was cancelled. THEN it took two full hours to get back checked bags. By ths point it was 5 pm, had been at airport since 8:30 -- no food offered, no apologies, not even a glass of water. Of course, no flights back to US so I was stuck an extra day, completely messed up school and work. I THOUGHT I was booking with Iberia but it was a code share. I WILL NEVER fly American Airlines again!"

Prós: "Having flown many international airlines, I was proud to give American the highest ratings for quality and general hospital."
Contras: "More up to date movies would help"

Contras: "More than a 2 hour delay in Madrid for American Airlines to replace the seat harness on the Co-pilot's chair. This seems like an evolution that should never delay a flight if the proper preventive maintenance had been performed. Very little info was given and there did not seem to be any concern by the pilot or flight attendants once the flight was boarded due to the delay. I was very relieved, however, when we arrived at JFK and AA had a point of contact helping folks with close flights. We originally had 3.5 hours to make our connection to BWI, but due to the delay, had less than an hour to go thru Passport control, rescreening and entry to the terminal, but we made it. Thank you for the personal representative. I did not get her name, but she was very, very helpful."

Prós: "Not very much positive to say unfortunately. The staff were good and did as much as they could to keep up feed and happy."
Contras: "The plane was extremely old and dated. Never been on such an old plane with no up to date equipment or facilities. The chairs were very uncomfortable and the food was awful. There was no personal entertainment screen for an 11 hour flight and only one of the safety demonstration screens was working during take off. Also no plugs at all."

Prós: "They offered pretty decent food and snack options that were included in the flight- the high quality chocolate ice cream was an especially nice touch as well as the included wine. My seat appeared to have more space than the flight previous to it, so that added a lot more comfort without the extra expense of having to pay for the "more space" seating- I often feel like airlines nickel and dime you to death these days. Perhaps it was just the luck of the draw, but the seats had much more legroom than my first flight to Paris as opposed to the return to NY. The flight crew were all courteous and pleasant. Leather seating with readily available pillows and blankets for all was a nice touch as well."
Contras: "Having to use communal screens for watching movies and shows, having no choice as to what was displayed, having trouble seeing everything displayed (too far and small to see nuance in dark scenes and print on screen), having only one bathroom mid plane."

Contras: "Trying to make any changes to the booking or check in was horrible. Because this was booked through kayak, then through an agent, then ultimately an Iberia booking on a British Airways / American flight, it took about 5 rounds of phonecalls being passed to another company or another department to get anything done. Sure the flight was cheap, but 6 hours of phone calls to get anything done is unacceptable. The plane used for this flight is ancient. Very tired seating, and no seatback entertainment. One children's film shown on the central TV screen followed by old sitcoms....For a transatlintic flight, this is really poor."

Prós: "The movie selection was good, although it was in Italian. The drink selection was good. Thanks for the pillow and blanket."
Contras: "I began flying when airline attendants were called airline stewardesses. Their personality plus attitudes and attention to detail reflected on the overall image of the airline, and did not make me feel like a second rate citizen in a second class seat. I've noticed over the last decade-plus that this has changed. I've been rudely spoken to for reaching for a napkin off the cart as I was not given one with my drink. My elbow was hit by the cart as it moved from back to front of isle, and no apology followed. The garbage was collected moving back to front, so I had to get the attention of the attendant after she flew by me. I thoroughly researched the size of the suitcase required prior to flying, and bought a new one to meet the requirements. My suitcase did not fit on American Airlines. Why am I bringing up American Airline? When getting to the airport in Milan, Italy, 2 1/2 hours prior to flight departure, I approached the British Airway counter. As no one was there, I proceeded to believe I was too early, so I had breakfast. I again approached the British Airway counter and still no one was there. On my way to the bathroom, I found the flight board and followed the directions. I searched for British airlines at the gate I was directed to, but was unable to find it. I asked an attendant, and I was directed to the American Airline gate. It was very confusing. It would have been nice if there was a sign at the British Airways counter directing its customers to American Airlines."

Prós: "I was surprised by the amount of room in the economy cabin."
Contras: "Check in very slow! The computers used for passenger self check in didn't work well. It took 6 attempts to read my passport, it never did read my green card, wouldn't accept my frequent flyer number. Other passengers were similarly frustrated. The attendant couldn't have been less helpful. I joined a line to check in with a counter clerk. The counter positions were seriously understaffed. The clerks seemed to be working quite slowly and were quite unconcerned about the growing line. I'm glad I checked in early for my flight!"

Prós: "The entertainment and food on the flight were excellent and the crew were kind and attentive."
Contras: "The only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't much legroom in the economy section. Another problem - which is probably related to Heathrow airport and outside of the crew's control - was that the staff at the airport rushed us tremendously during boarding, saying that the flight would close half an hour in advance. I had never seen boarding close that early and it was very frustrating, because the boarding then took a very long time, since they searched us for no reason, and our flight ended up taking off 30 minutes late! As passengers, we felt very rushed, it seems, for no reason."

Contras: "This had to have been among the worst flights I have ever experienced in 50+ years of flying to 86 countries. First, an e-mail before I left my Paris apt that it would be 1 hr late departing. THEN the announcement ON BOARD that the flight would make a REFUELING stop in Bangor Maine (the eqpt was a 20 yr old 757 meant for a medium-range domestic route instead of Paris-NY). So it was FOUR HOURS LATE arriving, including an extra hour on the ground in Bangor because they'd lost their landing slot (tho they lied about "bad weather" at JFK) ... a succession of lies and incompetence. Headphone jack didn't even work at the seat ... the movie was a US film dubbed into French anyway! Gawd what incompetence. A letter Fedexed to Doug Parker, AA's CEO, was not even acknowledged.... and I do 35,000 air miles a year on AA. THE WORST."

Prós: "THis was an ok flight. Everything was on time and the crew was hreat. On the other hand, the food was terrible and the check in process was not expedite at all. The American Airlines crew did not know how to handle my G4 visa while checking in and they neglected to mark my bag with the orange ribbon signaling platinum status in American. This is key to getting your luggae faster in baggage claim when you have a short connection (I had less than two hours). This omission caused my suitcase to arrive last, and I had to run to make it to my next flight."
Contras: "States above"

Contras: "Airline throughout mentioned connecting flight passengers are okay as the flight will land almost at the scheduled arrival time but once onboard bluntly announced that we don't have further information. This is cheating"

Prós: "The meals were excellent -- well timed distribution of food throughout the flight. Attentive staff. Good choices for meals and beverages. I liked the fact that we got ice cream halfway through the flight also, that's not a very common thing! Entertainment system was very good -- lots of choices of things to watch/listen to! I was pleased to find that there were movies available that had been very recently released that I had been wanting to see!"
Contras: "Comfort was okay, my seat was on the end of a row with three seats (aisle side) and immediately behind me was a row with only two seats. Without fail, the flight attendants bumped their carts into my chair EVERY time they passed. If I had been trying to sleep, this would be much more of a disturbance to me. Seeing as I was just watching movies and enjoying the food, it wasn't that much of an issue. However, I think it would be easy for the flight attendants to just take a second longer to try to navigate around the chair and not bump it every time. Little things like that go a long way, especially on a long flight."

Prós: "nothing. seriously I have NOTHING good to say about this trip"
Contras: "We boarded or flight just a few minutes late initially then had to taxi back to the gate to fix AC(?!) electrical issues, which were seemingly fixed just as we started to de-plane. Then after a slew of nonsense announcements about waiting for a new pilot, redirecting the destination, and basically misinformation about reboarding, we are told that the flight MIGHT be canceled; It has been nothing but one excuse after another and honestly after a 4 hour delay with no real answers, I really cannot find any reason to fly this airline ever again. Such poor service."

Contras: "When I booked the flight, I hadn't realized that British Airlways had contracted the flight out to be operated by American Airlines. The flight was delayed in Paris and I ended up missing my connecting flight through JFK to DC. Though we were told on the plane that we would be given assistance upon landing and helped in an expedited manner through customs, instead I was briefly informed I had missed my connecting flight, handed an envelope, and told I needed to now travel to Laguardia Airport. No other information or assistance was provided. I was not given a reason why I needed to travel an hour in NYC traffic to switch airports nor was I given any help through customs. The shuttle I was told to take was unable to take me to the correct terminal, so I needed to get on a secondary shuttle. Again, after a 7 hour international flight, little assistance or aid was provided. I was barely able to make it through security in time to catch the new flight. Additionally, the actual flight from Paris to JFK lacked basic in-flight entertainment that almost any international flight would have. I will not be traveling on American Airlines again, and I am hopeful that Kayak and BA will be more clear in the future."

Prós: "It got me home in one piece."
Contras: "The flight was delayed after some passengers began boarding. The boarding process was also all over the place. When i finally got on the plane, the seats were very uncomfortable and I felt like a sardine being crammed into a small tin. the crew was at best, mediocre and boring. The in flight snack was two crappy pieces of cookie? Or was that a cracker? I did not eat it. The entertainment was one shared screen that I did not have a headset for, nor was I offered a headset, free or for a fee. The screen in front of me was too close and the screen behind that was further away and barely able to see it. I choose not to watch it for these reasons. The landing was rough at the end, everyone jolted forward when we hit the ground."

Prós: "For the price I got my ticket for. This was a good deal. I paid extra to upgrade to main cabin extra but well worth it."
Contras: "Got food and drinks and beer at nomadditional cost"

Prós: "Appreciated the staff acommodated me with an aisle seat."
Contras: "Had worse return flight experience. The flight was supposed to depart at 10am. While everyone was boarded, we were told the airplane missing a part. All of us had to wait for 2 and half hours for the crew to tell us that the part was in London. Thus, the flight had to be canceled. Then we waited to pick up our luggages from 12:30pm to nearly 4pm in order to get transported to a 40- minute drive away Hotel. I was starving because I didn't have breakfast as I tried to catch my flight and no food was provided during the waiting time. Plus, the entire day was wasted. Oh well, at least we were provided accommodation for the overnight, 2:40am breakfast, 4am airport shuttle, and 8am flight to get to our destination next day."

Prós: "not a lot"
Contras: "flights were re-scheduled and therefore had to travel a day early causing overnight expenses in NY. Re-scheduled flight was also delayed by an hour!"

Contras: "it was not clear that finnair was being operated by american airlines. when I arrived to the airport in Paris, they couldn't locate my flight on finairr or american. my flight was missed and the staff on both airlines (finnair and partner american airline) were soo unhelpful. I have never missed a flight, I travel for work, in the air, more than on the ground and this was the WORST experience I have ever had. I was super disappointed that even after all the mistakes, no one would help me find a new flight and I had to pay for another one. Even after calling finnair several times and pleading for some answers or help."

Prós: "I suppose the food / wine was okay."
Contras: "The plane was one of the oldest I have been on in years. The center aisle overhead bins were not even big enough for luggage and there was one TV every 5 or so rows. We were at the mercy of the crappy movies American Airlines chose for us. Most flights these days have individual entertainment and at a minimum room for luggage. The plane was old, dirty and not up to date. Never flying American again. Extremely disappointed with the service on the flight, as well. A little more than halfway through the flight, the woman in the row next to me began reading the airline magazine. Her window shade was up and the sunlight caused a horrible glare on the magazine pages that beamed like a laser over everyone near by. My friend seated next to me and I both have extreme sensitivity to light that causes migraines. I asked the woman to close her shade which at first she did about an inch or two. This didn't do anything to help the glare so I asked again and she refused to do anything more. I explained it was giving us migraines and she didn't seem to care. I asked the flight attendant to help navigate the situation, which was just as useless. She said she could ask but not force her to close her window shade. While I understand that AA can't control that some people can be selfish, I find it incredibly hard to believe that the crew can't intervene when a passengers actions are making other people physically ill. Our only other option was to be relegated to the last row, next to the crews stinking pile of garbage that had been accumulating for the first five hours of the trip. Almost every crew member we interacted with was completely apathetic to the situation. We spent the rest of flight nauseous and with splitting headaches. But I sure hope my row mate and fellow human being in 32A enjoyed the article about the dinosaur flea market in Bolivia This entire situation could have been mediated by the flight attendants who chose to disengage. Furthermore, when we were deceding to land, overhead bins were still open, and people were starting to stand up to gather their belongings in the overhead bins. Again, the apathetic flight attendants were no where to be found. Overall, disappointing experience. Glad to never have to fly them again."
