We were informed thatcher would have to wait 24hours (after an already 7 hour layover) to catch another flight to Los Angeles. After debating with customer servinge several times and being forced to wait in line after being told things were fixed several time we had to threaten to record conversations and had someone call American Airlines headquarters and finally was able to get in the flight the same night. We at work be point were laughed at by an American Airlines customer service professional. I had purchased upgraded seats since I’m over 6 feet tall and they were not able to accommodate on the new flight, the flight was horrible and I had ton stand up every hour to make I the whole 12 hours."

There were only 2 people helping on check in (in machines) and these people were still not helping people (like me) with questions about on how to do check in in those machines. On the other hand to dispatch the bags there were almost 8 attendants to receive the bags. Ridiculous! I’ve tried calling American Airlines and Latam several times to assign a seat for me and they swore there were only middle seats but I know how airlines work to make extra money on these seats. At the end, they only gave me a middle seat option and I had to take I.t of course. On the plane I realized there were dozens of empty seats and yet they made sure not give them to me or anyone else. Unbelievable! Unfortunately I still have to use AA on my way back to Brazil. After this, I’ll chose another airlines for sure. Also, the 3,4,3 arrangement is ridiculous: there’s no corridor space making people touching you everything someone passes by your seat. And boy! Those seats are so uncomfortable and there’s no way to incline the chair so you can even have a little rest (because it’s impossible to even sleep on those seats). The crew were simply doing their jobs! No pleasure! No smile! No engaging with anyone unfortunately! They looked miserable and I asked for water and the flight attendant NEVER brought me anything. Seriously! Water is free!"

Also they weren't able to give any idea when the flight would be boarding- they just kept sending text alerts that it was delayed another half hour and no updates were listed on the screens. When the flight finally left, after I had been waiting for over 5 hours, we were told that they would be flying low, so there would be no beverage service. It would be nice in these situations to simply have bottled water to pass out quickly, or make the announcement prior to boarding so people would be able to bring their own beverages."

Do they honestly think the passengers forgot? We are in the plane too! I understand they have to be careful due to liability but this airline is ridiculous. Believe it or not customers do not like being treated like children. Would not recommend to others or fly this airline again. Also, the lunch was awful even by airline standards. Btw the airline was avianca not AA. kayak must have messed up or they are owned by AA. AA is great and I recommend them wholeheartedly but Avianca is awful. Stay away if you can afford to do so."

Contras: "I had my reservation cancelled despiste numerous phone calls. The flight was operated by AA, and they told me I wasn't on the flight, but after many phone calls LATAN assured me I was booked on the flight. When I got to the airport, I was not allowed to board my direct flight from GRU to LAX, instead I was sent to Miami then Charlestown , I took me an extra 12 hours to get home. I lost a day of work. Who's going to reimburse me for that ???"

In this flight, the did recline 170º but formed a ramp that did slowly slide the passenger under the set in front of him. I'd recommend someone from AA should fly Lufthansa Business Class or Singapore Airlines Business to check out how it should be done! ANd then, flying a beaten up 777-200er while its competitors fly 787 is nonhing but a shame!"

Contras: "The crew did not know the law about child safety seats. They tried to inform us we could not use it, even though it is approved for air travel. Then they tried to tell us we had to face it forward, which is illegal and it cannot be secured like this. Then they told us the car seat needed to be against the fuselage, but that all the fuselage seats were taken. They did not offer a solution to this problem. I informed them this was TAP's fault for assigning those seats to us. They said they were not responsible, which is clearly wrong. They could have reassigned us at check-in and avoided the problem. They were very concerned about the ability of the person in front of us to recline their seat, but no interested at all in the safety of our baby. They told us we would not be able to use the seat, although our baby was already asleep. They were trying to find a way to make us leave the plane. Finally, some other passengers volunteered to move so we could sit against the fuselage with nobody in the seats in front of us, so we would not block them from reclining. A solution would not have been found by the crew. Only thanks to generous passengers were we able to stay on the plane, even though we were doing everything completely legally. They made my pregnant wife feel so bad that she cried for the first hour of the flight. Then, as the flight was concluding, our baby got airsick and vomited. They crew did nothing to help aside from bring 3 (!) napkins and then leave again. Incredibly unhelpful, mean, ignorant, and combative cabin crew. Truly appalling."

This trip turned out to be a disaster."

The new seats are hard as a rock and don't recline. Cramped is an understatement. The tray table is literally the same size as the tray itself. Did TAP build a mock up of this before production?!? You get to hold your drink and put your silverware in your lap while you eat. Food was too hot to open foil, and once opened was mediocre at best. Entertainment?!? Literally nonexistent. Well actually in the fancy seats beyond economy there is a little slot to attach a phone or tablet on the back of the seat. So your entertainment is whatever you brought. I guess the touchscreen/on demand entertainment I remember from the early 2000's is too high tech for TAP."

Prós: "TAP Airlines did not fly this route for day and probably hired NEOS Airlines to fly as charter or contract this route only? NEOS Airlines is an Italian airline probably comparable to Southwest Airlines in the USA. It's a cattle car airline with no frills. Crew was very professional, food was actually good. A sandwich that was of course Italian ingredients. Seats were comfortable for the 3 hour flight."
Contras: "Checking in and paying a $49 excesses baggage fee for I was better off paying a full fare. Discount fare, what a joke!Than finding out that TAP put me on standby status?? But I eventually got a seat. It was no relief thinking I would be left behind and my plans elude be delayed.TAP airlines had only worked the front desk check in, gate check in and don't know about the ramp service. So I can't give a full positive review of TAP Airlines"

This is not to the Airlines credit per say, but it was super easy. I enjoyed getting off on the tarmac just 200 feet from the building, was a nice sunny day."

Still, looking forward to the last leg home."

Prós: "Boarding was fast. The breakfast sandwich was good. It was nice the cabin lights were turned down since it was an overnight flight. Also all seats had a pillow and blanket."
Contras: "The seats were extremely cramped, very difficult to get comfortable. The bathrooms early into the flight were dirty and one had no toilet paper the entire flight, making me wonder if any were cleaned between flights. Having TV's is a nice option to pass the time on a long flight. The problem was the seats were so close it was uncomfortable to watch them."

Contras: "There is not enough space for your feet. You're basically on top of the person next to you. The aircraft was old and had no tv in front of you, no outlets to charge our phones. The food was terrible."

Contras: "It was delayed, as normally, 45 mins this time. Awful experience going through security in CDG I would avoid that airport at all cost. Randomly making you wait luggage before security, with add extra 30 mins to the security processes, not sympathy of staff even if flight people may miss their flight."

Contras: "they started boarding 25 minutes later than stipulated. the flight took off 10 minutes late. you should at least provide a complimentary small bag of peanuts or pretzels. the seats were uncomfortable and tight."

Contras: "This was a pretty long flight, but the seats did not have individual screens for entertainment like on most international planes. Instead, there were a few large screens in the center aisles but the shows were not in English and you had no personal choice of what to watch."

Prós: "It is a good service for an almost short flight. You can easily tell you are traveling with a top airline"
Contras: "There was a 30minutes delay but since the airport is so big it was good so add not to be in a hurry"

Contras: "I had an isle seat assigned to me at check in, however I strongly feel discriminated against by your stewardess Sylvia , after she made me move so another young lady could have an isle of 3 seats all to herself. The made me food to another seat (50 something) when I know I didn't have that seat. I would never recommend this airline - I travel often and plenty and have never been so humiliated and made to feel less than. They way I was asked to move was as if I was a disturbance , as if I sat next to the pilot of the plane ....it wasn't even offered an apology or asked kindly. It's unacceptable."
Contras: "The staff was not professional and extremely rude. After the flights were delayed and canceled...they were not accomodating and staff barely could speak my language English. It was very terrifying not being able to get help all alone in a foreign country."
