The ticket agent, the gate agent and the cabin crew all did nothing to make up for the fact that their system screwed up and stuck me in a cramped coach seat in the back of the plane for 11 hours-- TWICE! Beyond that, KLM must have one of the oldest fleets in the sky. Both ways LAX->AMS->LAX, I was on a 30-35 year old 747 with no wifi, no power and a ten-year-old entertainment system. Never again."

Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

Contras: "The attendant was rude to my daughter. She was discriminated against. During the meal pass he gave everyone else a meal and gave my daughter water and said ' You will be fine with that.' At the Lima airport the restaurant refused to serve us. If you are traveling to the Olympics and you are an American I suggest you avoid Lima. The Peruvian airport personnel don't like us and they let you know it."

"Flight to Florence delayed. All passengers took a bus to Pisa (1.5 hours away) to fly Pisa to Paris. We missed our connection and flew next day. All information regarding the delay online was incorrect ("system not yet updated") . So calling Air France was useless as they could not assist. Not all flight delays can be avoided but many improvements are needed throughout this process."

Prós: "The seats were much more comfortable then my last flight. The entertainment system was also updated from the 1980’s remote and cord ones on my flight from DC to Paris."

Flight attendant said she would "call to have it reset" but it never worked. Fortunately, there was an adjacent empty seat that I moved to on my own initiative and without the flight attendant offering a seat change."

Contras: "It is very difficult to get around CDG airport with a disabled person. There is no shuttle. By the time we got to check in, we were ten minutes late. They would not check us in, and we paid over $700 to change tickets to the next flight. When I complained, I was told to stop being rude or I would get no ticket at all. My mother is 94 years old and we did the best we could given the circumstance."

Prós: "It was a wonderful flight and service . Hospitality and welcoming."

Prós: "We got to the desk to check in and there was one person being served in front of us. He finished with him, turned and left the area through the dooor. No one came to help us for 15 minutes. Then they came out to answer the phone and said we were 10 minutes past the cut off and we could not fly."
Contras: "Staff just walked away while we were in line, the rudeness and mean attitude, they blamed us for being too late after ignoring us and made us late, they didn't offer an alternative flight until we asked. Overall, horrible customer service. Never been treated so rudely by people in the airlines industry in my entire 42 years of flying!"

Contras: "It was one problem after another during check in. And it was difficult to find help in English so I couldn't really tell what was going on. In the end I was tucking to get checked in because they were insisting I use a kiosk but I was telling them that the kiosk said to see an attendee. It was not efficient and I felt like a burden asking for help when there was nothing else I could do on my own."

Prós: "Service was much better than on the flight from MIA to CDG 3 weeks before - that was very poor. Entertainment was excellent - great selection of movies. Premium Economy was definitely worth the upgrade cost."
Contras: "Boarding was a complete debacle - no control over who went where. Sky Priority line was full of 50 people who weren't Sky Priority, and there was only one person checking passports. The two people at the desk didn't care when I noted this. We were called to the desk in advance of boarding to check passport information. When we got to the check in line, we were taken aside for more passport checking, even though we are US citizens with Trusted Traveler status in the GOES program. We were one of the first people at the departure lounge, and one of the the last to board."

Contras: "I was ignored over and over again as ice cream, drinks and snacks were offer by the crew. It would have been nice if some would ask me before falling asleep if I wanted to be roused for snacks and desserts. After being on back to back flights of more than 10 hours each it would be considerate for the crew to be aware of my length of travel and to make sure they don't assume my resting my eyes is the same as me being asleep. Even when I was awake it appeared I was being overlooked, ignored and left out of complimentary services I saw other receiving....my bad for not asking to be noticed."

Prós: "The crew was very comfortable speaking two languages and friendly. They also had air conditioning! This was great because it was strangely hot in Paris and we were sweating profusely. And our last air france experience we were so hot and it was aweful. Even though it was like an hour and a half flight they still served us sandwiches ,really good."

Prós: "The crew was very helpful. Made sure I was comfortable."

Contras: "I expected more from business class. I wanted more comfortable seats and better food. The food was blah."

Contras: "Dear Sir or Madam: My two colleagues and I bought our tickets from BWI to Geneva, via London Heathrow, through Kayak as I have many times in the past. However, the Kiwi.com travel agency did not flag that the ticket from BWI to London Heathrow allowed for one piece of checked luggage, but the ticket from London Heathrow onwards to Geneva did not allow for any checked luggage. Also astonishingly, we had to pass through Customs, reclaim our checked suitcases from the baggage carousel, and check in again through Customs to board the onward flight, both coming and going through London Heathrow. In addition to the extraordinary inconvenience that we could neither transit at London Heathrow to our connecting flight without going through Customs twice and that we could not check our luggage through to our final destination, we also had to foot a higher baggage charge to allow for checking in our suitcases, now that we had arrived in London Heathrow only to discover this that our onward ticket did not cover one piece of checked luggage. Had we known that the seemingly better price posted by Kiwi.com on Kayak’s comparative offerings came at such a high price of inconvenience and additional expense for the luggage, we would have taken our business elsewhere. It was deceptive of Kiwi.com to engage in such practices, even if it disclosed these conditions in fine print (for no one would expect, nor have I ever seen previously in the hundreds of flights I have taken as a Million Miler on United), without flagging this. And similarly, it was irresponsible of Kayak.com to allow this “apples with oranges” comparison on its website. I’m making three more international trips in December, but I’m inclined not to use either Kayak.com and most certainly not Kiwi.com for future airline ticket purchases."

Prós: "Quick check in online, efficient auto bag check with helpful staff available, Quick efficient boarding, quiet flight less than half full."
Contras: "Being bumped to an earlier flight (7:15 from 11:20), not sure that was BA or the booking agent, but caused alteration of plans and hotel being booked."

Prós: "Seats are comfortable"
Contras: "No complementary water on Baird."

Contras: "The equipment was old and didn't seem to be well maintained. And they did not offer even a glass of water on a 3 and a half hour flight. Even water was on sale!"

Prós: "Comfy. Adjustable headrests. Complimentary food and drink."
Contras: "Food options were a bit limited but overall everything tasted good. The screens were very old and low quality so it was very hard to see the movies but the selection of media was good."

Contras: "- The boarding at Heathrow gate B44 was horrendous. This is my third experience at the B gates, all terrible! The long wait to board coupled with the lack of sufficient seats for people needing assistance, topped off by cold air from the AC blasting you right in the face. - The plane at boarding time was an oven! Someone didn't want to or forgot to turn the AC on. It tool at least over an hour to make it comfortable. - The entertainment choices are very limited and the screens don't work well."

Prós: "Crew was friendly"
Contras: "We had a 30 minute delay for technical reasons leaving JFK and then spent 60 minutes taxiing/waiting to takeoff. During the flight the pilot made up about 15minutes but then a Heathrow circled for 20 minutes this caused us to miss our connecting fight what are it worse is that BAnever todos we had issued our flight even though they knew but the time we landed that we could no take it through security in time . It wa very confusing trying to figure out that we had to reschedule and where and how to do it."

Contras: "There was a charg for ALL drinks & food! This made the service process quite long & cumbersome."

Prós: "Seats were comfortable. Food was good. Having your personal iPad for movies etc. Is a great idea for planes without a personal screen."

Contras: "The boarding process is a mess. The flight crew is in total disarray. My friend beside me on the flight got the food 45 minutes before me. Then the second time they gave food out the last 5 rows didn’t get any bc they did bring enough. Just a total mess."

Prós: "Crew was courteous. Seats were comfortable, but tight. Meal was tasty and the entertainment was great."
Contras: "Boarding is totally chaotic. Once priority boarding is done it is every man for themselves. Most airlines give you a boarding number and that cuts down on the pushing and shoving."

Prós: "Planes were new or well maintained."
Contras: "Confirmed seat selection does not actually mean confirmed. BA changed our seats without notice and stuck us in the back of the plane. There was no real effort to address the unexpected change. It also took the entirety of the 3 hour flight for the service cart to make it to the back of the plane. This was after a 2 hour delay during which they provided only sporadic updates. Overall, quite a poor experience which would make me hesitate to fly BA again given a choice of comparable airlines."

B/c of this missed connecting flight in LA and your airline did not replace us with a new flight or accommodation. Had to pay for own accommodation over night and new flight thru different airline NEXT morning."

Prós: "The agents and crew were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The boarding was timely, the crew was very friendly. The service was exceptional. The only issue was seating, too cramped. I am 5'11"and weigh 135. I was uncomfortable in my seat. My husband was uncomfortable in his seat. This made a 9 hour flight rough. The crew, food and entertainment were great, but the seating made me think twice about flying to Europe on British Airlines in the future."

Contras: "The seats go very far back which makes it extremely uncomfortable when the person in front of you has it all the way down the entire flight. Left me no room to put my tray down."

Prós: "TAP HAS THE MOST COMFORTABLE SEATS THAT RECINE VERY VERY FAR."
Contras: "CREW NEVER CAME AROUND AND OFFERED WATER, LIKE OTHER AIRLINES DO. THIS IS ESSENTIAL FOR GOOD HEALTH DURING A LONG FLIGHT OF 7.5 HOURS, AND SITTING ON THE PLANE FOR A TOTAL OF 8.5 HOURS....."

Prós: "There is nothing to like about the flight"
Contras: "There was no entertainment , no food for a 4 hour flight. The flight is more expensive than other airlines. I will not recommend or flight with them again. The flight was full and I think the route is profitable to them. I guess if you can exploit people, why not do it."

Contras: "It was over an hour late with little information about why. The gate wasn't shared until the last minute. Boarding was awful and confusing. We were stuck sitting at the gate for a long time with no air and the crew didn't deserve the last ten rows any water. The luggage also took forever to get onto the belt. Overall bad"

Contras: "TAP was late getting the first flight out, offered almost no help and almost left 22 people stranded in Portugal and tried to get us to pay for a new flight at our own expense. Customer service was terrible. Multiple people in line said they had been stranded in Portugal by TAP airlines before."

Prós: "Entertainment was fine"
Contras: "On my ticket I selected the lacto-ovo vegetarian meal and I never received it. I told the flight attendant and he said “we don’t have any more, chicken or fish”. I said “I am a vegetarian” and he gave me a tiny salad, a bread roll, and a chocolate mousse. I was very hungry as I hadn’t eaten in 9 hrs"

Contras: "Avoid Lisbon airport and TAP Air Portugal at all costs. A 1 hour connection at the inefficient Lisbon airport resulted in a 9HOUR DELAY. MISERABLE. Air Portugal didn’t allow adequate connection time."

Prós: "Great crew. That’s about it."
Contras: "Absolutely horrible business class on the A330-343. Honestly, they should be ashamed of flying this airplane. They have four of these from Singapore Airlines and of course on both flights I was unlucky enough to get stuck with it. The cabin looks horribly outdated, is worn out, and smells."

Contras: "They took an extremely long time clearing away the dirty dinner trays, which meant that the tray table had to be down. This made it near impossible to get up to use the restroom or to stretch."

Prós: "seat comfortable, crew , quietly professional"

Prós: "The flight itself was good."
Contras: "The only thing that I felt was not appropriate was that they made me check in my carry-on at the gate. Apparently, the airline requested 55 passengers to check their carry-on bags...but they just selected the first people who were closest to the gate. I purposely did not check a bag because I had limited time to make a train connection at my final destination, plus I had to go thru customs and I knew that in itself would be time consuming. I explained this to the airline staff, but they did not care. I think they should have first asked for volunteers; and if still needed, then randomly select people to check in the carry-on. Also they only were making people with the “suitcase” carry-on to check them in....anyone with a duffle-looking bag was not even bothered. Luckly, I’m mange to make my train connection, but I was running to do this...not fun at all."

Prós: "I’m taking offFlight was smooth and service was great."
Contras: "Flight was smooth and service was great. Long wait before taking off."

Contras: "We were never prompted to pay for our check in baggage at the time of purchase and so when we showed up we were forced to pay 85 euros for one checked bag for an international flight on top of a ticket that already cost more than $250. The luggage restrictions were never shown previously. Will never fly TAP Portugal again."

Contras: "Boarding gate too small. Suoer overcrowded"

Contras: "The fact that the airline only gave us a 18Euro voucher good enough for one meal. A thievery."

Prós: "The plan was clean, newer, and comfortable. If you sit towards the front of the plane you end up sitting in economy plus for the economy price."
Contras: "No entertainment, but the flight were short enough it wasn't really a problem. With downloadable Netflix and Prime, that isn't a problem anymore."

It is like watching TV where you may tune in to a movie 20 minutes into it playing instead of starting whatever movie you want from the beginning. To make matters worse, there was no plug-in in case you wanted to watch entertainment of your own on phone/iPad."

Contras: "We booked flight several months ago and it included seating assignment, so we choose our seats. Then when we check-in they had changed them to the last row of the plane. We had received a couple of emails asking for us for option to pay for advance seating. Assume they had changed their policy and now were charging. We had a close connection at LHR and being last off, we almost missed connection. Horrible"

Contras: "Booked my flight in January to ensure good seating for my family. Checked in day before departure and all my seats were changed. Also on my return flight. No notifications. We ended up all the way in the rear of the aircraft. Totally unexceptable"

Contras: "2 hour delay for a 30 minute flight. Really?"

Contras: "The sizing device is much smaller than it needs to be for carry on roller bags. My bag was forced to be checked by the ground crew on this Tap flight. My bag is a normal sized carry on bag that has always fit on all flights. There was plenty of space on the aircraft for it. The ground crew also let others on with larger bags so they dont even apply their policy in a consistent manner. I will do my best to avoid TAP from now on."

Contras: "Very poor check in!! We checked two bags when we went to the desk to get our boarding passes.....then when we were boarding the plane, I went through without a problem but my wife was flagged. we were informed that we now had to pay for our checked bags..both of us even though I had already been cleared. 70 dollars was needed...and so with our flight ready to leave we had to just about run 250 meters and then back 250 meters to catch our flight....we are in our 60's!!!!!. If we had to pay we should have been told at check in! and to make matters worse both of our checked bags are carryon size...we only checked them because we thought it would be convenient. Given that it was not our mistake that bag fee should have been waived....very poor customer service to people who have flown TAP many times........"

Contras: "Crew was rude, unhelpful, and the business class seats were essentially coach with the middle seat unoccupied. It was extremely uncomfortable and made worse by the crew being very impatient and not helpful when we had people in our seats, a 3-year-old we were trying to seat, and all of the overhead compartments closed so unclear where to place bags. Boarding began 20 min late and then we had to stand on the boarding ramp for another 20 min while the crew finished "cleaning" the aircraft."

Prós: "Aircraft seem well maintained and crews are very nice."
Contras: "Boarding was a mess this time. The lady directing the boarding did not make clear where each group should stand. So The lady had to send most of us back which upset many. TAP should copy Southwest Airlines except self checkin kiosk are horrid no matter which airline uses it."

Contras: "The online check in open for a flight from the us to the europe must be open 24 before, indeed it has been opened only 16 hours before..."

Prós: "None"
Contras: "It did not included luggage cost which means i had to pay additional cost. You SHOULD state it in booking pages (NOT LINK). If i knew it i would never use TAP. I found direct flight, cheaper. I want you to pay back."

Contras: "Almost not enough leg room to fit in the seat, boarding was a confusing process on both legs."

Contras: "At the check in, despite that I have a swiss passport, 5)3 hostess looked solely at my face and assumed I need avisa and asked me three times for my visa. On the flight, blankets are removed 20-30 minutes before landing during which I was freezing. Upon arrival, my new bag i hadnt used as yet was broken and TAP pays nothing and does no kind of exchange for broken bags. Basically- they dont care! During my return flight, despite being checked in adn being at the airport wel ahead of time, the airport clerks gyided me to the wrong desk and I had to wait longer than needed. The check in for baggages had closed by 1 min. They were allowing me to take the flight only if I threw out all my liquids or else were off loading me. They proposed no other solution and wanted to make me pay 450 dollara to put me on the flight the next day. I had an interview the following day and needed to return. I ended buying a new full fare ticket with British airways and got excellent service. I am yet to complain to TAP."

Prós: "I like that there was wine event though this was a 'short flight' - this never happens in the US, so was a nice surprise"
Contras: "There was a 'five minute' delay due too a mechnical issue with the bathroom light. The issue was communicated after about 30min and then took another 30min to sort out. Would appreciate clearrer expectation management - don't tell me it's taking five minutes when you need an hour. This feeds into old stereotypes around timeliness. Also, the seats were pretty small - I am 6"4 and was in a seat that did not recline (in front of emergency exit row)"
