I tried a month later but the problem was not solved. They foward any problems and inquiries to reservation center but calling the number won't find anyone to talk. Always they put me on hold for hours and never reached anyone. I have food allergy and tried to request for special meals but the option was not there under my eticket number as described in their website. They say the option may not be available because I purchased my ticket from 3rd party, not from JAL or it was code share flight. Very inconvenient. I had to skip 2 meals out of 3in leaving for Japan. I got very hungry at the end of the flight...."

The flight was apparently overbooked but than at the last minute, they gave me and my girlfriend seats separated from each other. I sat in the back, she sat in front. The tickets also had trouble scanning and kayak isn't a known agency."

Prós: "I have gotten used to long flights on various American airlines where it seems the staff do the minimal amount. Service is so incredibly better on Japan Airlines. Staff respond when you ask for assistance. They smile and work with the passengers. They were actively present almost all the time which was amazing. There is just no, "no," on Japanese Airlines. I loved the media options."
Contras: "It has been a while but the food was not as good as I remembered from way back when, or maybe that was Korean Air? It was, however, hot when it should be hot and cold when it should be cold."

Contras: "The DC China Embassy web site clearly states that a valid APEC Business Card can be used in lieu of a Chinese visa. In spite of this I was denied boarding by JAL. It turns out the system is not fully in place, and eventually I was issued a 10 year multiple entry visa by way of apology. JAL did not waive cancellation fee, and I suffered considerable economic damages."

The seats are far more comfortable and larger, the amount of legroom is far superior, you have much more personal space, and the craft is cleaner. Flight Attendants are fantastic! They provide excellent personal care, and are there for everything. They are supremely polite and courteous, and bring things in mediately. Very often anticipating your needs. This is what flying used to be like on United and American. But those people have completely forgotten what service is. Qatar is a 5 star airline. United and American, to my view, are 2 star at best."

The remote buttons were not quick to respond and needed to be pressed firmly and slowly. The food menu needs more lighter options. The toilet could use mouthwash addition."

Contras: "Since I was sitting in the row starting a new section in the plane (row 26?), crew members walked in front of me throughout the whole flight. Sometimes if my legs were extended, they were stepping over me, so it just got annoying."

Contras: "1. rude staff - i stood in Jburg at the counter for 13 minutes (i checked my clock) while 8 staff ladies spoke among themselves in a myriad of languages. FINALLY one lady asked if i had been helped! I said no and she was clearly less than thrilled to be the one to help with my question. i literally just wanted to ask if my seat assignment was a window, middle or aisle, but it was like i was the bane of her existence and i interrupted their social hour. On my outbound flight (ORD to DOH) I also watched three staff members be beyond rude to guest after guest at the check in counter regarding baggage when they came forward to "re check-in" which was a new requirement for most people. There was a lot of general confusion on behalf of the consumers and the staff was NOT the least bit patient or helpful in explaining what they needed from us or why this flight had different procedures than normal. I still don't know why they were so fussy about baggage and made everyone re check in at the gate in fact. And they didnt do it to my baggage so i have no idea why they were so rude to some and completely left others alone. (didn't seem to have to do with size, carrying of electronics, i don't know?) 2. the physical flight - you changed my original flight time to something that was REALLY close for my connection from DOH to CDG, so you instead bumped me to a later flight without consulting me. it would have caused me to miss a connection flight I booked separately through EasyJet from Pairs to my home airport BIQ. I had to figure that out on my own. RUSH through Doha to make my 35 min connection and barely was allowed to board my onward Paris flight by the Qatar gate staff which was only cutting it close as a result of YOUR changes! Yet i was treated like i was somehow "late" and wouldn't be able to board ??? Again incredibly rude staff. Subsequently you lost my luggage because the connection was too tight. i landed on Friday and it didn't catch up to me until Tuesday. Not one person has said sorry or offered any restitution. And this is honestly what upsets me the most. I doubt anyone even reads this. pathetic. I work for a travel club and since Monday (so in 4 days) I have actively reached out to 4 clients to cancel and re-booked their Qatar airways flight to another carrier to get them to Johannesburg. They will be doing the same safari experience I did, but I will NOT recommend and book my clients on Qatar after my experience."

Contras: "- Airline changed flight and offered little forewarning for what was a material change (from 1 hour transit time to 9 hours) - Boarding process was inordinately slow with little attempt to move this along quickly - Service was halting at best"

Contras: "My 18 year old daughter (turned 18 on December 20, 2016) was singled out, searched extensively bodily and her bag, for no reason what-so-ever. It was a traumatizing experience for her... needless to say, nothing was found and no explanation was given. The seats recline too far back so that the person behind cannot enjoy what they are watching. The crew has to keep asking the passengers in front to pull their chairs up slightly."

Contras: "They announced on the plane that everyone on the plane could use the fast track immigration. And there was a special line for the Dubai Doha shuttle flight which I was on. But they didn't let me use it since I didn't have a "stamp" on my ticket. Nobody on our plane had a stamp or whatever..."

Contras: "I started my journey from JFK with Emirates and before booking ticket I checked with customer care representative regarding the baggage allowance and I was told that I am allowed to carry up to 55 inch . I just carried 43 inch tv weighing 19lbs and one check-in baggage weighing 21kgs and they made me pay 175$ saying that tv size is not in allowed limitations. I have also filed complaint but didn’t get any response so far . Last year my husband carried 55 inch with ethihad from same airport JFK and was not charged single penny. so I can say there is no airport restriction as well."

Contras: "Emirates is (just) OK in a business class (never trier economy in Emirates), but I have a very strong feeling they should be much better. Cabine interior should be much better (it's old, seats are not full beds and are somehow narrow). Food offering should be improved (continental breakfast - what king of cost-cutting is that???). What is really good is in-flight entertaintement system. But you don't pay for a business class to watch movies, right?"

A person without the ability to run at full clip would not have made the connection. This was an international flight from Los Angeles - Bags did not make the connection either and had to wait two days for them. If you issue tickets with short connection times, it is your responsibility to make sure passengers will have adequate time to make it to their next gate. Or airline should provide some assistance to these passengers. Making them run is unacceptable."

Contras: "More turbulence than usual... but they warned us about it and I know it was beyond their control. Also, the gate change in the airport was pretty rough, but that was more of a Dubai issue than Emirates. Still, it was a long way for a jetlagged pregnant woman to walk and there was no assistance available. Whenever we passed a transport car the driver was busy on their cell phone and uninterested in offering a ride."

After being delayed for two hours out of Rome to Istanbul and missing our connection to Jeddah with hundreds of other stranded passengers from the other flights, Turkish Airlines incompetent handling had us wait in multiple ques for more than five hours only to provide us a hotel for two hours and then shuttle back to a flight 12 hours later! I have yet to hear an explanation from anyone about what happened or a simple sorry for your trouble. This is operational incompetence at full display. Never Again!"

Contras: "Passport Control at Ataturk International was a nightmare with hundreds of people ahead of us in the queue. No Police to secure the area, so people rushed the line pushing us aside and jumped the queue, this happened repeatedly. I would advise people NOT to fly into this airport and expect to make your connecting flight, because it doesn't play out well at all. We were in line for 2 hours and witnessed people pushing, shoving, yelling at strangers and generally acting like animals. I found the whole experience highly disturbing."

Contras: "This is our second experience of flights being cancelled via Turkish Airlines. Very disappointing customer care when flights get cancelled. Staff totally unprepared and untrained for such situations. We waited around for 6 hours before finding out on our own, that the flight was cancelled. The notice was not shown on the board. In all waited around at the airport for more than 10 hours before we were finally carted off to a small hotel near by at 1230am in the morning. Very little to no information given throughout the whole process, stranded with parched throats, no luggage, clean clothes or toothbrush."

Prós: "The flight attendants were lovely, they worked smoothly and did their best to manage an unpleasant situation. The facilities are also excellent, and as always, the fresh flowers and hand lotion and such in the toilets was a nice touch."
Contras: "The food was not up to standard this flight, mostly passable, but our pasta inexplicably tasted chlorinated, as if the noodles had ben boiled in pool water. It's a mild complaint, though. Plane food isn't always sterling. The true problem, unfortunately, was in the form of other passengers. Despite having an excess of available space to stretch out, our seats were surrounded by utterly out-of-control children. Crying babies is understandable, it can't be helped, but if your children are running up and down the aisles [including during the landing], sitting on other passengers [myself in particular], and lying down in the aisle to sleep [and the flight attendant had to ask multiple people whose child that one was because no one wanted to own up, apparently] they have no business being on a plane. I don't even care about the annoyance at this point, their behaviour was inherently unsafe and the parents just didn't care."

Prós: "I had a great time during my flight from istanbul to Seoul . My seat didn't recline and cabin crew immediately helped and took me to a business class as an apology . They were very responsive to any time i needed help . And the food was amazing . Even the economy class gets gourmet meals . Also the entertainment was quite good . They have big tv screen for each seat and have all sorts of shows and movies from international to hollywood . And have games for kids ... Overall i was very pleased with my flight ."

For example, they rescheduled our flights but did not confirm or ticket our flights. They should use all resources to get us home but won't let us fly on Star Alliance code share flights."

Crew seemed lazy...they would not bring water to travelers very often...and when I called a flight attendant with the button call and politely asked if I could have some water, she seemed pretty annoyed and told me I can just stand up and go take my water in the back where they store food. NOT A GOOD SERVICE FOR $2,500!!!! It’s outrageous!! Seats become smaller and smaller...and you keep asking about my experience...$2,500 to travel seating in a miniature seat with no leg room is a bit much...and I know no flight company cares about this...we have no choice...either take that or don’t travel, right?"

Contras: "It was Air Canada. Terrible service. Staff needs education on where to take travelers thru the immigration locations. Wasted time going to different locations and time is an essentence! Too many changes of staff from one location to another when it came with wheelchair assistance. One staff was on her personal phone!!! Had 3 different changes of hands then still did not get us to the right terminal, had to run to make the flight! Is that how you treat a 86 years old traveler?"

It's really annoying when this happens. I think the ground crew in New Delhi duped me. At one point, my call button for my meal was ignored for ~30 minutes on the plane. And then I was told there was no more chicken, and handed a veggie wrap. One wonders whether I could have gotten chicken 30 minutes ago!"

They checked on him frequently during the rest of the flight and made arrangements to get us assistance off the airplane in Detroit and through the crowded airport in record time in order to get him to the ER as soon as possible. We are so grateful to them for their caring help during what could have been a very embarrassing situation."

I booked our seats and paid extra ahead of time, come to find out they changed the seat configuration and our seats sucked so we paid extra for nothing. Lufthansa really needs to fix the seat selection situation."
