I just shoved my knee into the back of the chair so he couldn't move back anymore."

It seems that there is no control over the placement of carry on luggage in relation to seat selection. many people entering the aircraft drop of luggage in the bins close to the front of the cabin even when they are sitting at the rear... Simple solution would be to assign luggage based on zone. Zone A to Be Window seat. Zone B to be a centre seat and Zone C to be Aisle seat. Designate a portion of the overhead bin to be A, B and C like the seats. Ensure that baggage is transported to the seat designated."

I wasn’t happy about not getting an email. I called West Jet to find out about the delay and it took approximately an hour to speak to someone. When I did, the delay was explained as weather related and the reason for not getting an email was because they hadn’t gotten to it yet I believe. I wasn’t happy with that as a reply. The flight was then delayed again by several minutes. I would have appreciated some form of compensation as I was going to get a lift home from the airport and ended up having to pay for a taxi as I was coming in so late. In all other flights, I know west jet to be quite an accommodating airline. The crew was great, I simply didn’t appreciate how the delay was handled."
Contras: "Lots of delays on different flights for members of our party flying from various points in US to Calgary and on returns. Several folks had damage to their luggage, including wheels torn off of baggage and a cracked ski helmet."

As a result, we had to exit the secured area in Rio to go check in manually again for our connection and then go through security and customs again."

This was one of the worse experiences I have ever had. The staff was disrespectful and would not help us. We ended up taking another flight until the following night!!"

If this is a recurring thing, why not time the arrivals and departures better to avoid making people sit there, disconnected from everything and waiting? Also the screen on my "entertainment center" was broken but thankfully I had my own book to read. Air Canada has not had the most welcoming crew or most up to date fleet in my experience; I fly with them mostly because of their cheap fares. I guess "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch"."

Contras: "This was a +10 hour trans Atlantic flight. We walked on and immediately noticed there were no TV screens. I expected that the crew would be handing out portable screens instead which would have been ok but pretty inconvenient. This was not the case. We asked the crew and were told that to have entertainment for the flight we would have to download the Air Canada flight into our OWN devices and connect to the airplane wifi. They also explained that you can't download the app while connected to the airplane wifi so anyone who wanted entertainment had to scramble to download the app while we were still on the ground and Use cellular data! at this point 300 people were either panicking because they didn't have a personal device with them, didn't have a charger for their device and so would have power issues or were forced to use up roaming data because they had non Canadian phone plans!!! At the very least staff should have told passengers about this setup while they were waiting at the gate, so that people would have time to download the app with airport wifi! add to all this the fact that the app was extremely low quality and the options for movies/show were disappointingly dated and limited. This was not officially a cheap low cost flight for my family but the service we got certainly would categorize it as such. Very disappointed."

I was uncomfortable the entire time. this was a redeye flight, departing at midnight. the cabin lights stayed on for the first hour making it impossible to dose off. we were given a 'snack' of a disgusting chicken wrap slathered in mayo. it was inedible. oh, and accompanied by a large kitkat bar. I mean. Who came up with this combo? there were no screens, no in flight entertainment unless you wanted to run down your phone battery or rent an ipad for $10. I was truly disappointed."

The only food offered was for sale."

Prós: "The flight was great, friendly staff, great food, new plane, lots of options on the new AC entertainment system. The new Star Alliance terminal (T2) at Heathrow is also so fast and efficient! No complaints at all!!!"
Prós: "1. Pilot kept plane informed which is great especially when there is potential turbulence."
Contras: "1. No entertainment on the flight. Not even opportunity to see where the plane is in flight and when we will arrive. No USB charger on the flight. Very outdate plane. 2. The plane was very dirty - trash in between the seat 4. The food was the worst I ever tried on the plane 5. I was very surprised at the very disappointing service. I must say, with all the travel I do, apart from 1 young lade, the flight attendants acted like they loathed being there. It is so disappointing especially b/c I am Canadian so it is a bit embarrassing that Air Canada seems to have such terrible service. 6. The flight attendants were out of a lot of things, I heard them mention several beverages they were out of throughout the flight. I also heard them say that there will be no hot beverages while seatbelt sign is on (which it was a lot). I guess that is reasonable, however, it is the first time I have encountered that on the place. Instead they directed to passengers to come up to the back of the plane to get a hot beverage when the seatbelt sign was off. I did a few times - 1st time they said they were out of cups and to stop by later. But 2nd time had the cups. Did these cups get magically delivered midair or perhaps maybe they just needed to bring cups from the storage on the place and could have given me an option to wait while they retrieve them. 2nd time when I stopped by to try to get a hot beverage, a lady with black hair just gave me an empty cup. The whole experience with this flight was confusing - some attendants seemed not to understand fully what passengers were asking."
Contras: "Air Canada closed the door ten minutes before departure although the knew we were in the terminal trying to get to the gate. Air Canada charged us $315 for a flight two hours later."
Prós: "Comfort and Entertainment were great. They were punctual as well."
Contras: "The overall checking process was horrible. Nobody to provide help in Mexico City. We ended up spending extra time on line even though we did online check-in. One of our bags never made it. Which was very frustrating since we were traveling with two kids and were the last to leave waiting for the bag that never made it. At Newark, the lady that handled our missed bag claim had little customer service skills. All she said was that it was common for stuff like that to happen. Just that experience might make this the first and last time I use Air Canada again."
Contras: "Didn't even get to fly. Air canada! Avoid at all costs"
Prós: "Food was really good and they passed drinks a few times as well as walking through with water. Staff was friendly"
Prós: "The stewards were very attentive and kind. My original seat was kind of squished and there were a few open seats on my flight. So a lovely stewards offered me another seat where I wouldn't be sandwiched between people."
Contras: "Only in Canada they make you remove headset for takeoff and landing."
Contras: "Late and overbooked Toronto Airport Dodd is bad. --- no veggie optional"
Prós: "People were nice wHen airline made them available to us. But business lounge, special services, and other services were not available in Toronto when we wanted them."
Contras: "Connecting flight was repeatedly delayed. Then finally cancelled because no crew was provided by the airline. Since this was only announced so late - after midnight - hotel rooms were no longer available we had to try to sleep on the floor in the departure hall. Maybe ok for 20 year old travelers. Not for 75 year olds like me who paid business class fare so as to hopefully avoid some of the rigors of travel. I managed to catch up on some sleep the next day in the business lounge while eating for my rescheduled connection. Still it has taken an additional period to physically recover from this experience."
Prós: "The crew and the service was top notch."
Contras: "Bathroom needed more attention to cleanliness"
Prós: "Service was great, food provided on our international flight was delicious and more than plenty. Beverages were tasty, the check-in and boarding process was very smooth and well organized. My wife and I definitely had a great experience."
Prós: "Entertainment system was nice and I had a good seat on the aisle with no one in the middle, which was lucky."
Contras: "Getting checked in London was a pain. Air Canada had changed my original flight over (a change I wasn't happy with) and then when I got to LHR had marked my record for a change fee! Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Crew was generally inattentive, absent, and hardly friendly. At one point I was instructed how to load my (tiny) food tray properly after the meal. I am sorry but you are working for the airline and I am paying for service, which I didn't get."

Prós: "The flight itself was as good as expected: Attentive crew and competent pilot, good enough food, comfortable enough (for coach) seats, and clean airplane. The seats could be made to recline a bit more but nobody seems to be doing it for coach class."
Contras: "The flight was delayed 30 minutes causing me to lose the connecting flight home by about 5 minutes There was no effort from United to help me to get the second flight on time or from the crew on that one to delay it enough for me to arrive. They suggested I waited 9 hours for the next available flight or to get one by AA in Reagan Airport in 3 hours. They told me that transportation to that airport would not be reimbursed and would cost between 20 and 40 dollars. I didn't know the airports were that far apart and the one-hour taxi drive cost me 80 dollars. From Sao Paulo to Washington, things went as well as expected. Once landed everything was horrible."

Creates a larger cluster of people at immigration and something else I have to wait on. Also - why is GRU already using buses for boarding 787s? It would be nice to receive a box lunch or snack, more than just a minunt size bag of trail mix. We do pay a lot of money for these flights. It's. it like the planes are leaving the gates half full anymore, so I know they're making money. Feed us more than a snack please. Ok that's my load off my chest."

Contras: "Kayak is not transparent enough about highlighting which flights are low cost flights during purchasing. I thought I was purchasing a regular fare where I could bring a normal carry-on onto the flight, but this was a low cost flight and I had to check my bag. This information was not disclosed until after payment, and I believe this is dishonest on the part of Kayak. Kayak needs to be much more upfront about the details of the flights so that we passengers can select flights according to their needs. I felt deceived by the fare and would have purchased a different flight if I would have known ahead of time."
Contras: "Because of a delay in SFO to Chicago O'Hare airport I missed my connecting flight back home. My connecting flight left early without me. While boarding the plane in SFO, the people at the gate made me check my carry on bag. Which I thought was very weird. When we finally got to Chicago I stood in line for two and a half hours to talk to one of the worst customer service lady of my life. She swore at me many times over me trying to be polite and wait for her to call me up to find another flight. Instead she looked at me and said "what are you waiting for?" She said to me "Oh here's a flight. But oh wait it's already sold out or gone" and she would laugh. Finally she found a flight close to where I live. My baggage had got lost from my connecting flight leaving without me. I got all of my luggage 2 days after. My carry on bag that got checked at my gate was in a clear trash bag. I took it out of the bag to find that it was completely trashed. My handles were ripped off which put a huge whole revealing all of my personal items. My carry on bag has only been used once and can never be used again. I unpacked my bag and noticed $300 worth of my stuff was missing. I have called to make many complaints to talk to corporate office but no one would give me the correct number. I will NEVER fly United Airlines again. I am so disappointed."

Prós: "There were maybe two of the flight attendants. Who weren't rude. The rest well, I guess didn't like there jobs? I lost all my money for my first flight, because i was over 4 hours late. When i purchased a ticket from cheapo air, the person helping me was so nice. Unlike United airlines, or Viama. When i missed my flight that i paid $1,300.00, United said they'd give me another ticket for $4,000? This was a one time offer to redeem my $1,300 Viama said $10,500? I will only buy my tickets from cheapo air from now on."
Contras: "The flight attendants are very snotty, 2 out of the 18 I encountered were polite. The rest acted like they hated their jobs, and all the passengers. When you travel to another country they should have at least one person who speaks English. Can't really say much for the food, essentially requesting a vegetarian meal was out of the question, so i just starve. Drink some watered down booze, take a few dramamine and sleep. The layovers are ridiculous. 14 hours, 8 hours 4 hours? Good thing God made Beer and pizza."
Prós: "The experience was as good as it could ever be for a 'plane'-jane flight, the crew was really nice! They handled an annoying baby situation really professionally and smiled a lot. Thank you for the in-flight season of Workaholics and House Hunters! I thought that was a cool feature and watched quite a bit to pass the time."
Contras: "But seriously my back is going to be damaged forever from the uncomfortable seating. Even just ones with a decent footrest for someone too short to reach the ground. Thanks from the little people~"

Other airlines will at least give you a map to view as well as one or two free movies/show. They don't make you feel like your being forced to purchase data just to have a pleasant ride. I also hate the fact that I checked in my bag well before my flight (even had time to grab something to eat before boarding) and when I landed the airline informed me that my bag didn't make it on my flight. Like how does that even happen? Then tell me it's on a different flight, that landed 4 hours later. Well, my bag wasn't on that flight either but on a different flight that landed a few minutes later."
Contras: "First flight was delayed, missed next 2 connecting flights. Next flight home wasn't for 24 hours, so had to pay for my own hotel + another $200 for a rental car to drive 5 hours home. Made it home 1.5 days later. They lost my bag, bag made it home 3 days later. Overall, worst travel experience of my life."

Contras: "Where do I start - tried not to select a seat until boarding, so I can get a chance at seating up front of the cabin - the online system selected one for me anyway that no one could remove. With 20+ seats open when I left for the airport - in the 20 minutes or so until I got there, they were all taken and I was stuck in a seat in Row 37 in the back of the plane that I didn't even select. The Premier Access line was taking 40 minutes to process and had to be moved to a regular line that took only 10 minutes. Plane was an old 767 with my seat mate overweight and spilling into my seat - since flight was supposedly full , no chance to switch. Flight attendant light wasn't working and had to go to them myself to get headphones that weren't provided. Overall, horrible experience I wouldn't want to relive again."
