Once I was on the plane, I started kicking myself in the you know what because I knew immediately I was scammed. I had purchased a 1st Class ticket for $400+, only to find that my comfort would be the equivalent of that if I purchased a ticket in economy. My long legs would still be cramped. For the past few years, I have been purchasing 1st class for it's spaciousness. On this flight, on the RCJ700, I did not fly comfortably. The space was very tight, and I was able to stretch my legs as if I sat in economy. This was by far, my most uncomfortable flight ever. SMH; A WASTE OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!!"

The seat was ok, but I found the pillows to be very small and flat. I needed multiple pillows. The head rest was not adjustable, so I also found this to be uncomfortable. Usually when I fly AA, the headrest is adjustable. My final dislike was that the beverage selection was limited. I'm quite sure there was plenty of alcohol, but what about those customers who do not drink alcoholic beverages? I asked for hot chocolate, there was none. I asked for hot tea with honey, there wasn't any. So all in all my flight was okay, but that is solely because of the flight attendant and pilot. They did their jobs and they did an excellent job."

I didn't like that my flight time was changed more than 15 times with no reason why until boarding time. I didn't like the fact that I did not get a seat assignment until boarding the plane. I didn't like the fact that they couldn't manage to scramble another plane and crew, but instead forced us to wait over four hours for one that was stuck somewhere else in the country."

Contras: "LEX to ATL to GRU did NOT happen because the LEX flights were delayed to the point of missing the ATL connection. While Delta re-booked me on United, my flight arrived 3 hours later than scheduled (so transportation plans had to change), my bag did not successfully move from the Delta flight to the United flight (and was thus delayed in getting to GRU) AND once the bag was received, 4 shirts had been stolen. While a delay/theft claim has been filed with United, this could all have been avoided if the Delta flights had been on time."
Contras: "I paid for the upgrade to Delta Comfort Plus for an aisle seat & for some reason they reassigned our seats and I got Putin a middle seat. It was not what I paid for and it was very uncomfortable. If people pay to upgrade to specific seats we should. It be reassigned to whatever seat they want to put us in."

If so, that's my first choice."

This flight had too many things go wrong for me to ignore. 1) The check in line up took exceptionally long even though there were many staff at the booth. 2) As people were boarding, one of the staff was handing out headphones as people were still attempting to navigate to their seat. The timing seemed very inappropriate and even in the way for new passengers. 3) My boyfriends carry on bag is larger than a small backpack, but smaller than a standard carry on bag. As he was boarding, he went to put his bag in the overhead compartment. My boyfriend is well over 6 feet and the Copa staff was insisting we put the bag at my boyfriends feet as his bag was not as large as others. We pay the same as the other passengers and deserve comfort too! Especially for my tall boyfriend who even in the largest of seats has a difficult time on planes. 4) The plane did not have individual entertainment units, which does not help on a 6+ hour flight. 5) I was VERY cold and asked for blanket on various occasions, and even offered to pay for one, but there was not on board, even though, as I exited I saw unopened ones in first class."

The cabin was way too hot -- uncomfortably so -- and the air vents barely pushed out air. The entertainment system on the plane was broken. I couldn't wait to land in NY."

And on my ticket I didn't have the gate number or the terminal, the goalkeeper said he would let me know when the flight was leaving, the hours passed and I didn't hear him calling me. until near the departure time I went to ask the employee and he said that the flight had left a long time ago and that the entrance was on the opposite side of where I was and they did not warn me ... now I'm here at the airport with no place to sleep, waiting for my other flight with a connection to Brasilia that leaves 6 am where I will wait for almost 12 hours to be able to get home. remembering that my flight from São Paulo to Cuiabá was 3 hours long and I will have to wait for almost 24 hours. A goalkeeper was super arrogant with me, gave me no support and even told me that if I was in the United States I would be waiting for 3 days at the airport sleeping on the floor, so it was ok."

I get that the flight was only 3 hours long, but a sandwich is not dinner. And, it tasted horrible. I took 3 bites and couldn't stomach the rest. It was laughable that they offered wine with it. Had I realized this was the option, I would have brought my own food. My husband, who eats literally everything, couldn't even eat it, and it was a cheese sandwich. How hard is it to make a bad cheese sandwich? Well, apparently, GOL knows how to do it."

Lost about $75 altogether non refundable. SUCKS."

Contras: "Everything! Crew were terse, rude and inattentive. Due to an issue with a bag on board without the associated passenger we had to taxi back to the stand for it to be removed before we could take off. This cost us an hours delay. There was limited apologies for this, no refreshments provided during the wait and poor communication of this. During the flight the staff were inattentive and sparing with refreshments. Service generally did not live up to expected level associated with an inter-continents flight. The flight was turbulent but crew and captain seemed over cautious with it and crew had to remain seated unnecessarily at times and at the detriment of passenger service. One stewardess wouldn’t even let me finish a drink before removing it from my hand claiming we were about to land and she had to sit down because of turbulence. We were still 40 mins from landing at this point! All in all a pretty bad flight, and it’s safe to say I won’t be flying American Airlines again."

Contras: "Being told to shut window blinds and spent most of the journey in darkness. No hot drinks. Long gaps between cold drinks. Staff not very friendly."
Contras: "The gentleman sitting next to me never turned his phone in to airplane mode. His phone rang several times while the flight attendant was going through the safety procedures right in front of us. This was after the announcement came that all electronic devices where to go into airplane mode. The flight attendant did not do anything and seemed to ignore the phone that kept ringing. The gentleman was even talking on the phone while the flight attendant was going through the safety procedures. Later while landing an announcement came over that we were to return to our seats, close all tray tables, and seats ts in the upright position. At this point the gentleman sitting next to me leaned his seat backwards. The flight attendant passed by the gentleman at least three times and never said anything about his seat back. Evidently this flight attendant did not care to do his job properly."
Prós: "late boarding - Chaotic at the boarding gate"
Contras: "BAD Public Relations: AA announced the flight was overbooked, then called up 3 young ladies. Their reaction was seen by everyone. They had just gone through the entire procedure to get to the gate and were forced to be stranded. FIRST CLASS: food service: could there be a rating less than POOR? we were given 10,000 miles (yes that bad) but just like Whose line - the points don't matter when the airlines is that bad! Crew response: We're not any worse than the other airlines - my response: WRONG! NO WIFI NO entertainment NO CHARGING AREA magazines were missing pages in both seats- requested new one never received"

Contras: "I will never fly American Airlines again. From the moment I checked in with the ticket agent to getting off the plane it was a disaster. The ticket agent was rude, hostile, and dismissive. Employees walked through the line at security forcing everyone to consolidate their belongings to one bag. I had a large wallet in my hand and was told I had to step out of line to put it in my backpack. They only allow you one bag to carry on without paying extra. At the time of boarding they announced that the overhead storage was full so even those that paid extra were still forced to check their bags. The plane was dirty, the service was slow, overall just gross. They don’t have WiFi or in flight entertainment so I paid the $20 to purchase the WiFi. It was worthless. I couldn’t stream anything, even music kept stopping to buffer. I understand it will be slower then on ground WiFi, but it was impossible to watch anything and a complete waste of money."
Prós: "Everything. I bought some souvenir magnets from the shop across from Starbucks near Gate C5(?). The gentleman working the register was very pleasant and was a welcome personality so early in the day. As a service member, I would like to thank him for his service. He was consistent in asking patrons whether they’d like to purchase a travel kit for the troops. A few patrons were abrupt and responded rudely but he maintained a level head and pressed on. Great attitude and professionalism. Thank you very much for your support! Also, I was able to get my Military discount applied towards my purchase which enabled me to purchase 1 travel kits for my fellow service members. A little goes a long way and when returning from deployments or coming home for R&R, it tends to be hectic and I, myself have often forgotten toiletries which I was able to get from the USO. The USO staff were also friendly and did an amazing job handling all of the personnel that funneled in, exhausted. Great attitudes and clean facilities. I would love to see an expansion to this USO location. They were full up this day, thank you for having this available to us! TSgt Angela Santiago Otero, USAF"
Prós: "The plane was newer, drinks are available. Seat only reclines half an inch or so so get ready for that."
Contras: "Crew on aa is the worst bunch of entitled fools, almost as horrendous as united."
Contras: "Got a notification of a TWO HOUR DELAY departing SFO. Rebooked into Charlotte instead of Dallas to connect to Fort Myers. THAT flight got delayed AFTER the doors were closed by another 45 minutes which caused me to miss my connection to Fort Myers AND have American Airlines leave my bag in Charlotte. I rebooked into West Palm Beach to drive to Fort Myers and my bag stayed in Charlotte even though there was ANOTHER 45 minute delay to change a tire on the plane. If I practiced medicine the way the airline handled customers, I'd kill every third patient!"
Prós: "The cabin crew were friendly and apologetic for the chronic problems with the entertainment system. The pilot gave us a smooth flight and landing, and was very conscientious about turbulence prevention and safety."
Contras: "The inflight entertainment system was spotty. Some customers had monitors that worked, some did not. A woman with a two-year old had one of the malfunctioning monitors and was forced to entertain her child for nine hours without tv, movies or music. Similarly, on our flight over to London 10 days earlier, my husband and I were 2 of more than 30 passengers whose monitors never worked and we were forced to fly for 7 hours in the dark on an overnight flight staring at the backs of seats. It was miserable. The cabin crew told passengers they had begged the airline for years to replace the system but the airline refuses. Will not fly American Airlines transatlantic again."
Contras: "I found out at the airport the day we were leaving for Spain that my daughter's passport had to be valid for 3 Months after we returned home from our trip. When booking a flight out of the country it would be nice if Air .com could of mention that to me. We were trying to get to a cruise we had already paid for that was going out of Spain. They would not work with me at all and cx my whole booking. When I tried to talk to them on the phone the man could not speak very good English and was not making any since at all. I let him talk to the British Airlines counter manager and the manager tried to explain that he would have to rebook us that he could not. Air.com was horrible and never helped us out at all. They should not be in business . I paid them of course months ago and I was just out the 1400.00 dollars. British Airlines was amazed that they did nothing to help us out."
Prós: "Never again. I had a connecting flight with a one hour layover and almost missed it. The plane to charlotte was very late boarding. Once i land I rush to my gate because I only have 20 minutes before they start boarding ; I get to the gate and have to wait almost an hour. At this point I still havent eaten because I am waiting around by the gate and the attendants are not communicating any information. Then they finally tell us that the reason the fligt hasnt boarded was because the flight attendant misplaced her luggage in the previous flight and was waiting to arrive to the terminal. Now how is that my issue? American Airlines needs to do better!"
Prós: "The trip from st martin was fine in terms of check in. AA opened their windows early so we beat the crowd."
Contras: "The plane left 20 minutes late, and then we hit turbulence and a bit of rain close to our arrival in Charlotte. I had originally booked a flight through Miami with plenty of layover time to get a connecting flight to Dallas, but AA canceled that one and put me on a connection the following day! When I called customer service, they were helpful in regards booking and assured me there would be plenty of time to connect through Charlotte. When our plane landed 35 minutes late, there was only 15 minutes to connect, and we waited for baggage that whole time. No idea what took baggage so long, but the result is that we missed our flight. AA did put us on standby for the next one, but that meant our relative had to pick us up at midnight."
Contras: "They lost 1 of 4 bags."
Prós: "The flights left on time and arrived early. It reminded me of the old days when everything ran like clock-work."
Contras: "The leg room was barely enough for me and I'm 5'4". I can't imagine people much larger than me being comfortable at all. Also, the chair made my back hurt, so I did a lot of sitting up straight as opposed to being "in the chair". I noticed that you had snacks for purchase on the flight, but the free snacks were cookies and pretzels. It would be nice to offer a trail mix or dried fruit. Pretzels are good for people who might be a little sick at their stomach, but better snacks are a nice option. I ordered coffee and it was perfect. Overall, the flight was a good flight, just a little tweaking and it would be great. Thanks for asking."

Why weren't we told, ditto, how long this mess would take to clear up? why weren't we offered o/n stays, etc, etc. Could have done an awful lot better if some manager had spent two minutes thinking!!"

Prós: "Walking past the Turkish Airlines desk in Dulles and knowing I would NEVER have to interact with these monsters again."
Contras: "I am an experienced traveler. I've been to 17 countries and have flown over a million miles in both business and coach. My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it."

Contras: "Air Canada is always late in my experience. I always end up waiting at the gate for the inbound flight which happens to be late. It is so annoyingly dishonest, considering that the flight is announced as on-time up until minutes before the departure time. When all along they know the incoming flight is late. After we boarded the plane at origin, we spent 15 minutes at the gate and quite a bit on the runway. When nearing the DCA, the plane took a complete detour went near Baltimore and then Annapolis and then flew back to near Gaithersburg as if it was intentionally wasting time on the air. Upon landing in DCA we had to wait 15 minutes on the taxiway waiting for the gate to clear. The (one hour long) flight that was scheduled to land at 10:20pm landed just before midnight. Air Canada is awful. This happens every time I fly with Air Canada and their conduct is just cheap and dishonest."
Prós: "Food tasted good. I pad entertainment was nice"
Contras: "Paid extra for the premium seats. When I went to the lounge they were very rude and said I signed up too late and did not even offer for me to pay to get in. Customer service on the phone was very rude again. The Toronto airport also is a hot mess. Some more. TV screens with gate info would be nice"
Contras: "We were told our flight was delayed due to weather, and then due to mechanics. The weather was fine in both new york and toronto those days, and other toronto flights left on time. we ended up being delayed 6 hours in the airport, and other flights still went out ahead of us. furthermore, because our flight was delayed, they didn't seem to prepare for the new departure time, and we were held up for almost an hour on the runway before being able to take off, and almost 30 minutes on the runway once we landed too. better planning and customer service needs to be required in these situations."
Prós: "Not much to compliment on. The flight did offer a great selection of movies to choose from during the trip."
Contras: "Constant flight delays. We were left on the runway for two hours before taking off due to an issue with the laboratory. The plane was overpacked, not allowing much personal space even in the aisle seat. People were sleeping on the floor and some in the aisles, creating a tripping hazard to those wanting to stand and stretch or walk to the restrooms. Those who attempted to sleep in their seat found that the seats were very uncomfortable and had very little to no leg room. When it came time to land at our destination, we ended up having to circle the airport for an additional 35 mins waiting for the terminal to free up. It was a very long 10hr flight that even the nice selection of movies to choose from couldn't help. Terrible flight experience, Canadian Air has really gone down hill."
Contras: "Our flights were switched twice. Ended up paying for seats on an added interim flight to Chicago. Not good. Do not like surprises."

Fora o horário das refeições, quase não era oferecido bebidas em um voo de 10 horas."

Contras: "Very rude air crew who treats you as a bus passenger, does not completely listen to your requests, on business class. I also had my return connection flight cancelled and moved 6 hours ahead of the original one, which made me just wait that long at the airport."

The flight was too full and the plane too heavy so extra fuel needed to get be left behind, which meant we had to land in Jamaica refuel and then head to Toronto. Arrival time was meant to Be 10:30pm and we arrived around 1:30am."

Contras: "Extra charges for baggage; no food whatsoever unless you bought it; staged boarding meant that when we finally were allowed on board other passengers had pinched our overhead cabin space, NOT IMPRESSED; no in flight entertainment unless you had downloaded the AC Rouge player in advance; no recharging socket for tablet devices - so you might just see half a movie anyway. If I pay a lot of money for a ticket, even if it's a budget airline, I expect more."

Contras: "I was shocked to find out only select passengers had to pay for their checked luggage. I only had 1 and they charged me $50EC. I spoke to a few other passengers and they said they weren't asked to pay anything."
Contras: "NO entertainment. Seats were too small and crowded. We chose our seats months in advance but were given two seats on two different rows and middle seats. We transferred from an overnight flight on Air Canada and the morning flight was very uncomfortable with no complimentary entertainment."
Prós: "Flight crew was friendly and helpful. Montreal is a very manageable airport. Staff there was also courteous and efficient. Food was very good for airline fare. Renting an IPad for $10 to watch movies in-flight was a reasonable option for distraction on a 9 hour flight. We were quite pleased with Air Canada and will not hesitate to book with them again."
