Overal, I had a fantastic stay at the Gansevoorti would totally recommend itGREATservice/rooms/POOL.....
Best housekeeping staff I've ever experienced. The spa wasn't very clean. Sauna didn't work. Staff there seemed very untrained and a bit unprofessional, though nice.
Center of cool All good
Location was perfect for pubs, clubs and eating out and was quite relaxing as you are away from the hustle and bustle of Midtown, would definatly stay there again, only down side and the roof top bar is fantastic The food and drink is quite expensive, they charge for also most everything, I would expect from a hotel of this standard to at least get free water
I loved the wireless connection. Bedding, space in the room, elevator staff. Simple things. I didn't care for the eggs at continental breakfast. But if that's all I'm complaining about.... I'm pretty well off.
Comfortable room. Space for sofa and 2 arm chairs in the room. Music in the lobby
The location was perfect. There was easy access to the city (NYC) No restaurant
Location There was a drug party across the hall from us that went on from 4-6AM, culminating in a violent arrest that took 1 hour to consummate. Everything in the room was an upcharge -- no free drinking water or coffee?
The rooms are very nice and comfortable and the location is perfect for all of the great shopping & restaurants in the area.
Very trendy shiek resort in heart of meatpacking. Extremely friendly staff, Malik at front desk was very accommodating. Roofdeck bar w pool and amazing views makes this a unforgettable stay
Room size was nice and location was great. The hotel was decent, but for a hotel which is supposed to be a luxury boutique type hotel every corner of the room and bathroom was litter with a product they were trying to sell.
The design and perfection of the room. The spa is on the lower ground floor although the hotel staff claim is operated by a separate company. The service at the spa didn't match that of the hotel, and its staff was incompetent and careless.
Rooms are very small, like ship cabins, but well-designed and solidly built. If you can adjust your expectations to the size (think "ship cabin"), it is quite enjoyable for short stays. Location is excellent (just 2 blocks from the Whitney, south end of the Highline Park, and meatpacking district. WiFi is reliable and solid. WiFi requires an annoying daily log in. Price is not cheap, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal in Manhattan.
Staff , the rooms, the amenities. The Wi-Fi was terrible
Love the location beautiful old building and great area the room was a slight small
cute hats retro fun good location quiet beds a bit uncomfortable couldn't find the shared bathroom(s) at first very small room
I loved this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms were cozy, and the bed was actually comfortable! The bathrooms, although shared, were clean and convenient. The location was perfect. Having my own individual AC unit to regulate the temp in my room was a definite bonus. I will be staying here again for sure!!
Adorable little old-fashioned boutique hotel. We had a bunk bed room and it was still cozy. The showers were also great for being communal! Everything was perfect in our eyes.
The location is its strongest point as it was walking distance to tourist attractions like 911 memorial Wall Street and just one subway to others like Times Square Rockefeller et al it was shared bathroom was really worried about that but truth be told they were sparkling clean at all times including the toilets. staff was friendly also Had this damp smell in the corridors plus the standard room was quite small but hey if all you need is just somewhere to lay your head after a hectic day of sightseeing and shopping or freshen up between sightseeing(s)- definitely the place to stay I mean it's good if stay-in is minimal plus the location is just very spot on.
Great in west village neighborhood close to everything & great shopping & restaurants! I brought my roller to help me walk around the city, stairs to get up from door and lobby sometimes inconvenient, staff always there to help but at times there should be a ramp or something like that I could get up to get around from street to lobby on my own.
I've stayed in several of New York's cheap hotels while on business. The Jane trumped them all on hospitality and cleanliness. The single room is charmingly arranged with wood paneling and brass decor. The shared bathrooms are stylish and always clean. The pastry shop downstairs makes great croissants, and the bar has a great vibe. Obviously the rooms are small (though well laid-out). It's also a little farther off the beaten path from a subway stop. No sinks in the room can be inconvenient, but the bathroom is nearby, so wasn't a problem.
I read the reviews before our stay and was pleasantly surprised at how lovely the entire experience was. The staff were all friendly and had a sense of humor. The room was small as expected, but we didn't plan on spending an extended time inside. The bathrooms were clean and there are two hair dryers so no need to pack one. We took bicycles out on one day and had a blast. The neighborhood is quiet although there is plenty to do. I would recommend The Jane to those traveling alone or as a couple. There is space for luggage but not much else. The photographs are an accurate representation of the rooms. The only negative was the mattress. Mine was lumpy but I slept fine. My companion did not notice anything with his so it may just be a personal preference.
Welcoming staff, best value in Manhattan for a solo traveler. My cabin was shipshape when I arrived, and my bunk was comfortable all night. In the morning, a private shower/dressing room was ready when I was. The cafe was convenient, with French coffee, a French croissant, and French service (pleasant, but a bit blasé--French, you know). Merci bien. [This interface doesn't work on my iPad. Cannot uncheck items describing my visit.]
Great ambience. Great staff. Great food. Great location.
Room was great. Juice Bar in the lobby was awesome. PH Bar is the best view in the city. Swimming pool. Ambiance. My bathroom sink was plugged up. Houskeeping doesn't seem to be perceptive or ready to take action when they see something like this or I would not have encountered it. Also, I needed to print a boarding pass and their solution was for me to email them instead of having a computer where I could print my boarding pass. I was annoyed by that.
The staff was AMAZING so cooperative and helpful with any little request!!! A+ The rooms are small and when you book you have to be very careful if want two double beds, the wording makes you think you are getting two beds and its is one. Three of our group independently made that same mistake.
Great Nightlife scene. Lovely juice cafe in front. Concierge helped book dinner reservations. Banging doors in the hallway, early housekeeping service. Slow elevators at night when club was using all of them.
The room was quirky and modern It was underneath a nightclub and so all night the music thumped through the ceiling.
Great location, lobby decor is very cool and onpoint. The rooms, though small, were very well done and loved the huge shower. Service was just awful. First day shower curtain filthy, sink didn't drain. Second day, shower curtain fixed, sink still not working. Third day, room never made up Fourth day, asked for ice (there are no ice machines at all), never arrived. Constant - the hallways always smell like food, because the facility is so well insulated that any room service smells will linger forever, and yes it really does. Forget about sleeping. There's a DJ that spins until 4am. My room was on the 10th floor. You could hear it reverberating through the courtyard. There was not much to do about that. Only two elevators for the rooms - so you'll wait for a while to go up or down. Oddly too, you need to use your key in the elevators in *both* directions, and the key swipe hardly worked. The weekends were a joke. Bar/Bat Mitzvah's, parites, the rooftop bar.is a huge draw and all kinds of trendy beautiful people. But that meant that the elevators were packed with party goers, drinks spilled, lots of ruckus that the scene brings with it. Hey it 's fun once in a while but at Dream Hotel it never stopped. Will not stay there again. I hope you know what you're getting in to when booking there.
It was convenient to where I was working and thew staff was awesome. The room was dirty, uncomfortable, and just not worth the rate. I wouldn't stay there again.
Good location, restaurant, bar, and pool were all lovely. Well-kept hotel. Rooms are tiny, and the staff was very inattentive. I asked three times (including reaching out once before my stay) about booking an activity and each time the concierge or staff told me someone would get back to me. Each time, no one ever got back to me. Finally we ended up missing out on the activity we wanted to do because of the staff's lack of attention.
Nice staff and chill lobby. Very small rooms and a soft bed.
Location was good. We got to the pool at 10am and put our names down to be told it was a 3 hour wait.
Loved my view of the Hudson River and the Empire State. Position over the Highline Park and in the funky meatpacking district is cool. Great place to stay if you love design and the hip factor. Top floor bar is amazing with views in all directions.
Room fittings and views were excellent Staff were unhelpful and the check in process laborious. Also the lobby area is too small for the number of people passing through.
The ultra modern chic interior designs and fabulous food The neighbourhood seems somewhat dilapidated
Bed was comfortable. Room was small but adequate. Nice views Night stands are sloped. Meaning drinks don't stay put. Tiny bathroom. Almost claustrophobic. Stingy with soap and lotion- replace if shen you clean and don't make me call for some. Also don't close roof for renovations without telling people in advance.
Staff was professional. Building was very cool. Very Artsy. Location was great to shopping, walking, Great View! Fabulous food. We had Thankgiving Dinner at the Standard! Food was incredible. Room service food was very good also.
Very hip hotel. Nice location. Very clean room with cool amenities. Just wished there was a coffee pot on the room.
Stayed for conference and anniversary. Asked 3 days ahead to have flowers delivered to room. Never happened. Asked day of and they would have concierge reach out to me. Never happened. Restaurant. Was outstanding. Top floor was a bunch of nobodies acting quite pretentious.
room service and views service not the best and the bar was not open to the people who were guests at the hotel
rooms a bit on the small side (even at "deluxe king size" level) but well planned so dont feel too tight (even for our 8-night stay)
The view in the room the television in front of the bow window
Great vibe at this hotel and also well located to top bistros and bars and breakfast places.Need to book to get a table at the bar on the top floor. No all was good. Not cheap but the we had a view which is something you rarely get in a New York hotel
Excellent location in heart of Meatpacking district/Chelsea--minutes from Greenwich Village & Soho; chic design; lovely bathroom/shower and toiletries; circular windows; very comfortable bed and high quality towels/sheets; stylish restaurant with patio. Bed was smallish; corridors and lobby a bit dark; breakfast ought to have been included for the price.
The theme was presented in a memorable and tasteful manor. Ice makers not located on each floor. Instead ice is delivered to the room.
It was unique and within walking distance of a plethora of restaurants To get the free coffee in the morning, we had to be served in the restaurant, rather than just a self-serve station
The Maritime has the nicest, and most personable staff. The Maritime lacks in some of the things you come to expect from a hotel, such as an ice machine, but the staff is more than happy to bring up ice.The only draw back is that the hotel is located right above the super trashy Hiro club. If your room faces the club, it is noisy.
Comfrotable, beautifully designed room. Common areas oppressively dark.
I really enjoy staying here. It's a bit noisy sometimes (tho you impressed my colleague who was also staying with you with the portal pillow.) The staff are great, the rooms are reasonable size compared to New York's miniscules like the Hudson, the Standard. And everything is thoughtful. The quality of the interior and beds is impressive too. Particularly happy about the toothpaste and the Bigelows supplies. Makes it feel spa like. The staff are very helpful and charming including all the housekeeping and maintenance folk. I intend to stay often. And I have recommended all my colleagues to stay here. I'm from Sapient. It might be worth doing some kind of corporate deal with us.
The convenient location. The incessant honking until all hours on weekend nights.
Flexible and very friendly staff, great service, proximity to famous meat packing district shops and restaurants in unparalleled ! Little pricey for the size of the rooms, this is made up for by it's great location. On the weekends there's a 'real' party going on in the basement lounge and be base travels up at least to the 5th floor, if your a problem sleeper then the complimentary earplugs are a must.
The location was perfect, close to the West Village, Chelsea market, subways. The room was very quiet, clean and well organized. The outdoor patio bar was excellent, very friendly. Also liked the restaurant with breakfast on the patio. Would definitely stay there again. The lobby is quite dark and the hall on our floor was also quite dark, but we got used to it.
The service was very good, we liked the decor too Very noisy at night from the bar. Went on well into the night. This is a recurring problem.
Location and ambiance. Great place in historic district The 2nd floor is WAY to close to the Friday crowds of rowdy people on the street. You are also right in the middle to 2 major late night clubs.
I used to live in Manhattan, and I think the location and convenience are unbeatable. At first the price may not seem outstanding, but once you consider that you have a kitchen and can accommodate families or groups, it becomes very attractive. The location makes it possible to return to the hotel multiple times a day if you want to change clothes or drop off shopping bags or just get a cheap lunch. I'll definitely keep this place in mind for other trips to NYC. It's not a pretty place to stay (needs painting), and it would be nice to have different sized towels, not just bath sheets (not great for drying dishes). But over all, it's a gem of a place.
It was cheap and the location was great. This is no-frills. The staff is not especially welcoming. The bathrooms could be cleaner.
the courtesy of the staff the cleanliness of the bathroom and the room were very noisy
The location! Bedbugs! The cleaning lady confirmed it was a bedbug I found in my bed! She also advised me to wash everything I brought in to the hotel before I took it into my house!
Our stay on the 5th floor was pleasant. The room itself was large enough to function like a small apartment, which has its merits. The futon, however, if opened fully, blocks movement from the bed to the rest of the space; so, we didn't open it, and I slept uncomfortably on half a futon as a result. I traveled and stayed with two others. The key broke in the lock the first night, so the three of us had just one key. I could have used a key of my own.
It was a at a great location. Rooms were alright for the price. Friendly staff.Nice terrace to be outside when it's warmer The shared bathrooms were just too small and old and dirty. Also right next to the reception. It always smelled of weed
Absolutely nothing Services, booking mistakes, shitty uncomfortable bed, and loud.
It was cheap. Great location on 14 th street and with a subway near the hotel. The personel were friendly and helpful. It was quiet and calm at the hotel, we were not bothered by any noise. The room was clean and had everything we needed: big comfortable double bed, an well functioning air conditioning, clean towels, refrigerator, freezer, sink, stove, pots, pans, glasses, a clock radio, cupboards, hangers and a dresser. The furniture were new (low quality, not ugly, just neutral), but the interior was old (a good thing) with wooden floor, white walls, high ceilings and with a large window out to a nice backyard with trees. The look of the hotel including our room was: rundown, but clean. It was New York in a lowbudget but very cool way! There were no mirror in our room. There were no elevator, but we lived in room nr 30 on 3rd floor, so the stairs worked fine for us. There were no televison. We had shosen to have a "shared toilet and bath" so they were in the hallway. They were old and rundown, didn't seem super clean, but it was okay. Sometimes the toilet or bathroom were occupied/busy, but then we could just use another on the same floor or on a nother floor. The bathroom had very poor/non-existent ventilation, so it got very hot and humid in there when someone had taken a bath.
only the location. n'y allez surtout pas..don't go there... we had a shared bathroom awful, it was dirty, we couldn't put our feet in the bath... restroom was erghhhhhh...please don't go!! the receptionnist speaks english very bad, and we had to pay 10 dollars to the hotel for the luggage keeping... we have never seen something so bad...
They lifted my luggage to 4th floor, where i stayed.
Rooms were clean, tv, fridge, location pretty good, near subway No elevator
Nothing Upon examine my room found out it has not been cleaned. Also found shower clogged with dirt inside it. When I called the front desk I was accused of this more then finding a solution to it. No elevators. Loud and violent neighbors. Stayed on friends couch for the weekend instead of room. Waste of money.
No elevators and the super friendly staff made it feel so cozy. Not to mention the great garden patio and uncanny amount of quietness you get at night. Pretty amazing and 100% where I'll be staying every time I visit NYC
The service, the place itself, clean, feels like home...
