Contras: "I’m still hungry and incredibly tired. Nobody buys their main cabin extra product, so there’s many empty seats. Ripe for the families that don’t want to pay extra to sit together. Those families bring kids, screaming kids to a section filled with higher fare paying customers. The FA in my section had such big hips, that she knocked my shoulder EVERYTIME she walked by. Not only that, everytime she did the courtesy reach over to grab empty cups from the middle seat, she hit me with her trash bag. Woulda been fine had I been awake, but I was trying to sleep in between the bouts of screaming from the devil possessed kids."

We were informed thatcher would have to wait 24hours (after an already 7 hour layover) to catch another flight to Los Angeles. After debating with customer servinge several times and being forced to wait in line after being told things were fixed several time we had to threaten to record conversations and had someone call American Airlines headquarters and finally was able to get in the flight the same night. We at work be point were laughed at by an American Airlines customer service professional. I had purchased upgraded seats since I’m over 6 feet tall and they were not able to accommodate on the new flight, the flight was horrible and I had ton stand up every hour to make I the whole 12 hours."

Prós: "The only decent point was the food. Not great but at least edible."
Contras: "Since check in in São Paulo was a complete chaos. There were only 2 people helping on check in (in machines) and these people were still not helping people (like me) with questions about on how to do check in in those machines. On the other hand to dispatch the bags there were almost 8 attendants to receive the bags. Ridiculous! I’ve tried calling American Airlines and Latam several times to assign a seat for me and they swore there were only middle seats but I know how airlines work to make extra money on these seats. At the end, they only gave me a middle seat option and I had to take I.t of course. On the plane I realized there were dozens of empty seats and yet they made sure not give them to me or anyone else. Unbelievable! Unfortunately I still have to use AA on my way back to Brazil. After this, I’ll chose another airlines for sure. Also, the 3,4,3 arrangement is ridiculous: there’s no corridor space making people touching you everything someone passes by your seat. And boy! Those seats are so uncomfortable and there’s no way to incline the chair so you can even have a little rest (because it’s impossible to even sleep on those seats). The crew were simply doing their jobs! No pleasure! No smile! No engaging with anyone unfortunately! They looked miserable and I asked for water and the flight attendant NEVER brought me anything. Seriously! Water is free!"

Contras: "American completely missed the mark. AA did not successfully change our reservation when the initial leg of our trip was delayed by an hour due to a fuel issue, which caused us to miss your connection in Chicago. Since American partners with Alaskan Airlines, American should have changed my reservations with regards to Alaska Airlines, but they failed to do that. I stood at the Alaskan Airlines counter as the plane left the gate with our empty seats because there was not a ticket. American Airlines did not change a reservation successfully and so although we had boarding passes with our names and seats and the flight number, the plane left without us. I was stranded and Seattle airport at midnight with a child and an infant with one diaper and one bottle left and it was a terrible experience with American Airlines. I do not recommend flying American they cannot get it together when problems happen with delays."

Contras: "I didn't like anything else about the flight. My seat was broken and the seats are incredibly cramped! Absolutely no leg room whatsoever. I am 6 feet tall which is an average male height so I can't imagine how anyone taller fits in those seats."

Contras: "Film selection was subpar, and had no subtitles available. Flight safety information video so unbelievably boring. Flight crew repeated all instructions at least 3 times including video interruptions. What is the point of having in flight entertainment if crew will interrupt said entertainment at least once every 10 min to remind you you are still in turbulent air? Do they honestly think the passengers forgot? We are in the plane too! I understand they have to be careful due to liability but this airline is ridiculous. Believe it or not customers do not like being treated like children. Would not recommend to others or fly this airline again. Also, the lunch was awful even by airline standards. Btw the airline was avianca not AA. kayak must have messed up or they are owned by AA. AA is great and I recommend them wholeheartedly but Avianca is awful. Stay away if you can afford to do so."

Contras: "I did not fly I lost my flight they had a problem with the airplane on my flight from brasilia to sao paulo so I arrived late lost the connection to my other flight from Sao Paulo to LAX. Also they lost my luggage. LATAM and American Air Lines doesnt know where my luggage is. I arrived at my LAX 12 hours after. They still dont know where my luggage is"

Contras: "I had my reservation cancelled despiste numerous phone calls. The flight was operated by AA, and they told me I wasn't on the flight, but after many phone calls LATAN assured me I was booked on the flight. When I got to the airport, I was not allowed to board my direct flight from GRU to LAX, instead I was sent to Miami then Charlestown , I took me an extra 12 hours to get home. I lost a day of work. Who's going to reimburse me for that ???"

Contras: "Boarding process was a chaos. Thing should not be done: such as re-screened passenger boarding pass and passport for nothing since we went thru 2 times security and border protection. Thing should do: organize boarding zone. all passengers had boarding zone on boarding pass but went in like first come first service."

Contras: "Flight was delayed 2 hours and another hour once we boarded. Traveled with small infant and no priority boarding or early access, even though flying alone. Charged for any checked bags"

Contras: "The crew definitely needs to be changed. There needs to be hostesses who are more attentive and actually care about their passengers."

Contras: "How does American think it can get away with a mediocre business class fitting and charge the same as Lufthansa and United? In this flight, the did recline 170º but formed a ramp that did slowly slide the passenger under the set in front of him. I'd recommend someone from AA should fly Lufthansa Business Class or Singapore Airlines Business to check out how it should be done! ANd then, flying a beaten up 777-200er while its competitors fly 787 is nonhing but a shame!"

Contras: "Being stuck in Boston and Ottawa for 2 extra days and adding around $1200 on to our trip in hotels alone (I was travelling with 4 kids on a school trip and my wife). Additionally, we didn’t find out the flights were cancelled until we arrived at the airport. Apparently, they had been cancelled 2 hours before but there was no notification. Air Canada offered no help whatsoever and the guy at the “service” desk in Boston literally said there was nothing he could do to help. Not even find a new flight. Spent 90 minutes on the phone trying to re-book, plus re-booking hotel along the way."

Contras: "Getting charged Air Canada rates for Air Canada Rouge comforts. 9 plus hours with zero entertainment. Basically stealing money. If this is the service offered should be at cheapo airlines price."

Contras: "As soon as I got on the plane everything was fine but this flight was also delayed by an hour and I had my relatives waiting for me. On top of that they sent my bag to Buenos Aires which was the planes next destination. My bag was eventually brought to my home. Overall the experience with Air Canada has been horrible. And I lost 2 full days because of the airlines' delayed flights."

Prós: "The plane didn't crash."
Contras: "The trip took about 48 hours. After a cancelled flight I got no hotel discount. Several flights were delayed or cancelled and in the end I ended up just going to a city 3 hours from where I live and renting a car to drive home. My luggage still hasn't arrived. This was the worst, most stressful travel experience of my life."

Contras: "i booked the flight in january and keyed in my passport expiration date several times online in the next several months...at the airport, i handed the air canada agent in miami my passport and she booked me and a checked bag through toronto to copenhagen...i went to board my connecting flight in toronto and was told my passport, which expires at the end of august, was no good as i needed to have 3 month left...so they refused to let me board and told me to go see customer service...so i go stand in line for several hours (was only one agent for the first 45 minutes and 10 people in front of me)...one woman going down the line to see what each person's issue was told me that it was my problem, not AC's...and that "we are only responsible for making sure your passport is valid for getting into canada"...i was on my own to find a hotel and a new flight...fortunately a supervisor saw me standing in a daze several minutes later and said that it was AC's mistake for not catching it in miami...so she booked me into a hotel, gave me the address to the US consulate and instructions on how to get an emergency passport...she said that it would be no problem as "this happens all the time"and went ahead and booked me on the next day's flight...so i was able to spend the next day getting the new passport and getting back to the airport to fly out that night, but i lost a day in copenhagen with my family...it seems to me that when flights are booked and passport info, including expiration date, are given, a simple cross check of dates would be easy, and, imho, incumbent upon the carrier taking you there, especially when "it happens all the time"...this was not done on 4 occasions between booking and my trip...there were other issues too which is why i will never fly air canada again and i will never travel though toronto...the return trip through that airport was a nightmare for many passengers."

Prós: "Pilot apologized that the entertainment system was down. Then suggested we turn back 10 years and do it the old way by reading a book or magazine to pass the time."

Quando decolamos, começou a cair água na nossa cabeça. O funcionário responsável disse que era do ar condicionado e era normal. A comida era ruim, sem gosto e com acompanhamentos que não combinavam, por exemplo no meu caso era frango com uma salada de vagens e pepino. Fora o horário das refeições, quase não era oferecido bebidas em um voo de 10 horas."

Prós: "It was a mostly empty flight, so there was plenty of space."
Contras: "The only bathroom was locked for landing, which I understand is a policy, however a woman sitting next to me REALLY had to go, and being at the back of the plane while everyone was leaving, could not go ask for it to be unlocked. I felt bad for her... Also, it was not clearly written or easy to understand where our gate was at Cleveland Hopkins. It was a small flight, but it could have been clearer."

Prós: "The upgrade with the food, and the entertainment"

Contras: "The woman that I was dealing with before the trip even began was incredibly rude and condescending! Talking down to me the entire time and didn't experience any patience whatsoever. She seeed to not know what she was doing whatsoever and was not helpful in the slightest. This is the woman in the desk leaving Edmonton heading to Calgary"

Contras: "Very rude air crew who treats you as a bus passenger, does not completely listen to your requests, on business class. I also had my return connection flight cancelled and moved 6 hours ahead of the original one, which made me just wait that long at the airport."

Then they gave us Stand By tickets for their problem. No exaggeration: The crew rolled a beverage cart in front of the restroom while I was in there. I couldn't leave for about 4 minutes The food made me vomit. That's why I was in the restroom when they blocked me in My headset jack was broken. 500 movies aren't worth anything if I can't hear them"

Contras: "The flight was delayed 30 minutes causing me to lose the connecting flight home by about 5 minutes There was no effort from United to help me to get the second flight on time or from the crew on that one to delay it enough for me to arrive. They suggested I waited 9 hours for the next available flight or to get one by AA in Reagan Airport in 3 hours. They told me that transportation to that airport would not be reimbursed and would cost between 20 and 40 dollars. I didn't know the airports were that far apart and the one-hour taxi drive cost me 80 dollars. From Sao Paulo to Washington, things went as well as expected. Once landed everything was horrible."

Contras: "One of the csbin crew was very angry, rude snd confrontationsl to the wheelchsir assistsnt. He challenged her sbout not picking up my carryon from the foor where he put on the floor. She commented she did not like to work for Uunitd because they were demsnding and demesning. This united rmployee csme back 4 times as we werr behind each other when we deplaned. Twice he szid,"L'm dorry but....." finslly he adked fpr her nsme. Tsking out hid isdues on another employee was unvslled for and unprofessional."

Contras: "Cramped, the only thing they gave us to eat was a cookie (literally ONE cookie. Unless you paid extra - it was a six hour flight, even southwest gives you free crackers and peanuts), the WiFi was ridiculously expensive, they don’t give you a lid for your hot drinks so my tea spilled all over my lap."

Prós: "The transportation..."
Contras: "There's absolutely no leg room it's the smallest amount of room I have ever experienced on a plane - even the first class is eh - mediocre at best. I am slim and fit and I had very little to no room. Consider someone overweight and they would have to buy 2 seats... united is definitely not my favorite airline..."

Prós: "I like the United app for ease of checkin"
Contras: "Flying itself is a terrible experience. Cramped seats, food is nonexistent, no wifi"

Prós: "Wrong gate from crew member on connecting flight - gate change in Chicago, reader was not working for pay snacks & food - in flight wifi , I didn't know about until we were airborne"

Contras: "We was almost 2hrs into the flight headed to Punta Cana from D.C. The plane was turned around and taken back to D.C due to air conditioning problems. Which made. I sense to me. I lost a full day or vacation, activities and private boat ride I was a guess speaker at."

Prós: "Staff was nice and accommodating. Plane ride was smooth."
Contras: "DELAYS. I had 4 flights within a weekend all with United and EVERY flight was delayed. The plane also heading to Newark ahead of us was overbooked and some people were pushed onto our plane, not a big deal if all can fit on the plane...but we wouldn't have if it wasn't for the delay causing those flying to Boston to miss their flights. Frustrating and adds an element of concern when faced with delays when the weather is fine. The internet on the plane is also confusing to use...should be clearer. Mistakenly booked my flight before realizing the new carry on policy, so trying to pack everything into a tiny bag to meet requirements was frustrating... definitely don't think I will be booking United again."

Prós: "First pilot on 1502 drove smooth and was able to cut 30min of the in flight time"
Contras: "On arrival from 1502 the baggage claim area for United was poorly executed with guest luggage coming off tow conveyer belts and not properly communicated to passengers. Took over 1 1/2 to get one checked piece as large items came out first. On my return flight to the States in 1503 the pilot drove rough in his take off and through turbulence. Lastly, I was disappointed with the i flight paid wifi service where other carriers offer free 1hr service and/or inflight movie on your personal device."

Prós: "Thankful for safe landing , staff was fine."
Contras: "Flight was delayed, plan was leaking something that was discovered when we were taxiing from gate. 1hr 10 min delay"

Prós: "No surprises."
Contras: "There were no music channels, audio is limited to podcast and ebooks."

Prós: "The staff was nice and professional"
Contras: "Why should we have to pay extra to have a little extra leg room? Aren't fares high enough? Also, I had a credit for directv but was charged again."

Prós: "Nothing much to really write about, except that flight arrived early."
Contras: "I had requested a special meal. Due to a date change in my travel, United messed up transferring over the special meal request. The "International Services Manager" offered a lip-service sorry. The audio output was intermittent. The phrase "friendly skies" has to be re-worded for United."

Contras: "Nowhere to plug in phones or iPads. Snacks were marginal"

Prós: "I loved the ground crew. Flights were delayed, but they kept us informed an expedited turn around. Also I had to change flights to get home and their phone-support was perfect. Hey, they even had a cookie on the last flight that was quite good - go figure!"

Contras: "Honestly, the customer service with United was in need of serious improvement, from the moment we checked our bags to the time we were in flight, we were given very poor service, the man at baggage check in was extremely condescending, acting like we should know everything about United's processing instead of just helping us with our needs in the first place and it added unnecessary extra stress to our travels from Colorado to Hawaii. I don't even want to blame the employees as it was very obvious that they hated their jobs and just wanted the shift to be done with; something needs to be addressed about how they can accommodate both employees and paying customers alike. Let's just say I can't wait until Hawaiian Airlines expands to Denver flights so we never have to deal with United again, as this is the only reason we used this airline."

Prós: "There were maybe two of the flight attendants. Who weren't rude. The rest well, I guess didn't like there jobs? I lost all my money for my first flight, because i was over 4 hours late. When i purchased a ticket from cheapo air, the person helping me was so nice. Unlike United airlines, or Viama. When i missed my flight that i paid $1,300.00, United said they'd give me another ticket for $4,000? This was a one time offer to redeem my $1,300 Viama said $10,500? I will only buy my tickets from cheapo air from now on."
Contras: "The flight attendants are very snotty, 2 out of the 18 I encountered were polite. The rest acted like they hated their jobs, and all the passengers. When you travel to another country they should have at least one person who speaks English. Can't really say much for the food, essentially requesting a vegetarian meal was out of the question, so i just starve. Drink some watered down booze, take a few dramamine and sleep. The layovers are ridiculous. 14 hours, 8 hours 4 hours? Good thing God made Beer and pizza."

Prós: "Crew was very good. Food was ok; need to anticipate the more popular choices so there's enough to go around."
Contras: "New Dreamliner has added more business seats resulting in loss of storage space as well as space for your feet when fully reclined."

Prós: "Nice aircraft"
Contras: "Late out of ORD"

Contras: "Unreliability of airline service, 7-hour delay! Food is horrible."

Contras: "Did not like the commuter ride from newark to syracuse. Probably would not use united again because of that. Had to get on a bus that took us across the street to board this little, very noisy plane. Even the flight to newark was uncomfortable. Seats are too close no legroom and my back was killing me due to uncomfortable small seats. United is not for me. Sorry."

Prós: "Aircraft with old decoration. Could not see a single smile from the crew."

Prós: "Crew was nice"
Contras: "The screen was frozen the whole flight."
