Prós: "How friendly the staff was to my esa & myself."

Prós: "We left an overcoat on the plane after the long flight and did not realize our area until we were in the baggage claim area. The Delta agent in Paris was most helpful. He went above and beyond to retrieve our coat. Good job Delta!"

Contras: "After we boarded and were already sitting in our sits the stewardess came and removed our bags from the overhead compartment for another person with a larger bag! We ended up storing our bags under the sits in-front. The way it was done it was rude and with no consideration for our comfort."

Contras: "Boarding was slow and the interviewers were disrespectful. Also I was upgraded last minute and I could never understand the system by which upgrades to first class are granted. Just because I used my points to buy the flight I wasn’t eligible for an upgrade to the one seat left in first class even though the flight is full and I am the first one on comfort+ upgrade list and there was no one on delta one upgrade list."

Prós: "This was a first! The flight attendant (sorry I didn't catch his name) was very attentive and assisted us in first class as needed. He actually addressed us by our name and that made me feel like I was not just a passenger!"

Contras: "Boarding process was ok (they bused us over to the plane and then had us walking out halfway to the plane's stairs before frantically sending us back on the bus because the plane wasn't cleaned yet). Not a big deal but we were traveling with a 10 month old so miscommunications like that cause a larger inconvenience than usual. The real downer on the flight was when we needed hot water quickly to warm our infant's bottle. The stewardess had begun beverage service and was about 8 rows away from us. My wife hit the call button, expecting the stewardness to come over somewhat quickly. Instead, she just continued beverage service and got to us about 15 mins later. By that point it was too late and the baby was wailing from hunger. When we asked why, knowing that we had a small child, the stewardness didn't just push the cart forward and attend to us more quickly, she said she didn't want to do that. No apology, not even a sense of remorse. At the end of the day, a customer's experience will always be tainted by poor service and that is what we received on our flight."

Contras: "I feel Delta didn't try very hard to get me a flight and I stood in line for four hours"

Prós: "GRU to ATL to LEX - all was fine. The plane from GRU to ATL was one of the nicer jets I have ridden in. The ratings above reflect my overall trip of going to Sao Paulo and returning to Lexington, even though the first part had to be re-booked on United."
Contras: "LEX to ATL to GRU did NOT happen because the LEX flights were delayed to the point of missing the ATL connection. While Delta re-booked me on United, my flight arrived 3 hours later than scheduled (so transportation plans had to change), my bag did not successfully move from the Delta flight to the United flight (and was thus delayed in getting to GRU) AND once the bag was received, 4 shirts had been stolen. While a delay/theft claim has been filed with United, this could all have been avoided if the Delta flights had been on time."

Prós: "Got an upgrade to Comfort + Delta is the best major airline in USA for sure"

Contras: "We had to leave the airport to get another boarding pass. Wish we could have gotten it at the start of our trip, because the people at the counters in Mexico city sent us to like 3 different counters. 2 aeromar counters and one delta. Things were not clear about this flight by aeromar operated by delta..."

Prós: "Flight crew were excellent and very helpful with my kids."
Contras: "When I arrived at my destination, my bags did not make it with me. When I called in the morning, they said they would not be out for delivery until 11:30 am and had a 6 hour delivery window. I told them to hold the bags and I would pick them up myself."

Prós: "I upgraded for more legroom (still in coach), which also included earlier boarding. Unfortunately that does not guarantee odifect verhead storage will be available. The meal and "free" movies were a nice surprise. Maybe I overlooked mention that those were included in the upgrade, but I appreciated it. I do wish I had known meal was included otherwise I would not have eaten at the terminal. Ice cream was also a nice touch. Actually, the food is really good."
Contras: "Paid extra for legroom, which was sufficient. The seats however were still far too narrow. The passenger next to me were in a constant battle for the armrest. I didn't really feel comfortable in that respect."

Prós: "Check-in was timely, and because my husband's arm was in a sling, we were allowed to board early. The plane was spacious, the crew friendly and helpful, and the pilot was terrific."
Contras: "There was no entertainment; however, the flight was quick and the plane was comfy."

Contras: "Was informed when we checked in that the flight we had purchased did not exists. We were informed thatcher would have to wait 24hours (after an already 7 hour layover) to catch another flight to Los Angeles. After debating with customer servinge several times and being forced to wait in line after being told things were fixed several time we had to threaten to record conversations and had someone call American Airlines headquarters and finally was able to get in the flight the same night. We at work be point were laughed at by an American Airlines customer service professional. I had purchased upgraded seats since I’m over 6 feet tall and they were not able to accommodate on the new flight, the flight was horrible and I had ton stand up every hour to make I the whole 12 hours."

Prós: "The only decent point was the food. Not great but at least edible."
Contras: "Since check in in São Paulo was a complete chaos. There were only 2 people helping on check in (in machines) and these people were still not helping people (like me) with questions about on how to do check in in those machines. On the other hand to dispatch the bags there were almost 8 attendants to receive the bags. Ridiculous! I’ve tried calling American Airlines and Latam several times to assign a seat for me and they swore there were only middle seats but I know how airlines work to make extra money on these seats. At the end, they only gave me a middle seat option and I had to take I.t of course. On the plane I realized there were dozens of empty seats and yet they made sure not give them to me or anyone else. Unbelievable! Unfortunately I still have to use AA on my way back to Brazil. After this, I’ll chose another airlines for sure. Also, the 3,4,3 arrangement is ridiculous: there’s no corridor space making people touching you everything someone passes by your seat. And boy! Those seats are so uncomfortable and there’s no way to incline the chair so you can even have a little rest (because it’s impossible to even sleep on those seats). The crew were simply doing their jobs! No pleasure! No smile! No engaging with anyone unfortunately! They looked miserable and I asked for water and the flight attendant NEVER brought me anything. Seriously! Water is free!"

Contras: "I didn't like anything else about the flight. My seat was broken and the seats are incredibly cramped! Absolutely no leg room whatsoever. I am 6 feet tall which is an average male height so I can't imagine how anyone taller fits in those seats."

Contras: "Film selection was subpar, and had no subtitles available. Flight safety information video so unbelievably boring. Flight crew repeated all instructions at least 3 times including video interruptions. What is the point of having in flight entertainment if crew will interrupt said entertainment at least once every 10 min to remind you you are still in turbulent air? Do they honestly think the passengers forgot? We are in the plane too! I understand they have to be careful due to liability but this airline is ridiculous. Believe it or not customers do not like being treated like children. Would not recommend to others or fly this airline again. Also, the lunch was awful even by airline standards. Btw the airline was avianca not AA. kayak must have messed up or they are owned by AA. AA is great and I recommend them wholeheartedly but Avianca is awful. Stay away if you can afford to do so."

Prós: "No ac, left late. Can't pull in bc our gate is occupied. I never have complaints, but I'm hot and my back hurts."

Contras: "Where to start? How about when I checked in at the counter, I asked the check in attendant to add my FF number on my ticket. They said they'll get right to it, handed me my tickets and sent me on my way. It never happened. Not a big deal, I can request the mileage post flight, but still something. Look at my tickets, that I had booked a week in advance and specifically reserved an aisle seat. My ticket says "Priority Verification," whatever that means. Turns out it means you don't have a seat, and you get the worst of the worst. So what seat is the worst? How about the middle seat in a row of 5. The middle in a row of 5, on a transoceanic flight... What kind of airlines has 5 in a row? The guy next to me spent $300 for his ticket, I spent $1200, for the same flight, and this is the kind of seat I get? The plane felt like it was straight out of the 90's, carpeted center walls, old seats, tiny tv's. Overall, a plane that felt had not been updated in decades. Took 20 minutes for a flight attendant to respond to the flight attendant sign. This wasn't during beverage or food service, just a normal time at cruising altitude. They also don't have eye masks. Every other transoceanic flight I've been on has them provided in the seat pocket, American Airlines doesn't even have them on the plane! Economy class has no USB or power outlets, the in flight entertainment is about a 5" screen in probably 260p resolution. Decent selection of movies, but you have to join the movie in progress or wait approx 10 minutes for the next movie to start. Legroom was okay unless you had one of the entertainment boxes in your way, then that takes up 30% of your space. Some of the tray tables do not have cup holders, on the top, bottom, or anywhere on it. Also my table was tilted, so every time I put a cup on it, it slid right off. Seems like a minor complaint, but eating dinner and fighting a sliding cup the whole time is a pain. Dinner and breakfast tasted decent, but you can tell American is cheap on the food. Most airlines will give something like a main course, a bread roll, fruit cup/salad, juice, small dessert. American gives you the main course and a fruit cup and that is all. Crappy utensils too. Overall, if I had paid maybe $200 for the flight, I wouldn't have any room to complain, but because American holds the government carrier contract for FY17, I had to fly on them at exorbitant cost, and would never recommend them to anyone."

Prós: "New regional jet Efficient boarding"

Contras: "I did not fly I lost my flight they had a problem with the airplane on my flight from brasilia to sao paulo so I arrived late lost the connection to my other flight from Sao Paulo to LAX. Also they lost my luggage. LATAM and American Air Lines doesnt know where my luggage is. I arrived at my LAX 12 hours after. They still dont know where my luggage is"

Contras: "I had my reservation cancelled despiste numerous phone calls. The flight was operated by AA, and they told me I wasn't on the flight, but after many phone calls LATAN assured me I was booked on the flight. When I got to the airport, I was not allowed to board my direct flight from GRU to LAX, instead I was sent to Miami then Charlestown , I took me an extra 12 hours to get home. I lost a day of work. Who's going to reimburse me for that ???"

Prós: "Good service from the flight attendants."
Contras: "BA and AA don't have their computers coordinated so if you book on BA, but the flight is on AA, your booking reference number for check in, etc., does not work. You have to call customer care for AA to get their booking reference number."

Contras: "The crew definitely needs to be changed. There needs to be hostesses who are more attentive and actually care about their passengers."

Prós: "The crew was very nice and competent and obbiously embarrased by whoever in operations screwed this flight up good."
Contras: "Pleane departed two hours and thirty minutes after original schedule because of operational and equipment problems. Plane wasn't even in Philadelphia unti 6:00 pm. The guy at boarding (unlike the boarding in SFO) called way too many groupss individually, First Class, Diamond, Premium, Gold, Priority. This led to many people being refused boarding and told to wait. In SF they simply call first class and then all the rest or the Aadvantage members together before the land boarding. Much faster and more efficeint. Even though the flight was full there less than 12 people in the Diamond, Premium, whatever classes. And the guy taking the boarding passes was a jerk. He actuallly seemed to take pleasure in telling people they couldn't board. Might not ever fly AA again. At least never from Philadelfphia."

Contras: "How does American think it can get away with a mediocre business class fitting and charge the same as Lufthansa and United? In this flight, the did recline 170º but formed a ramp that did slowly slide the passenger under the set in front of him. I'd recommend someone from AA should fly Lufthansa Business Class or Singapore Airlines Business to check out how it should be done! ANd then, flying a beaten up 777-200er while its competitors fly 787 is nonhing but a shame!"

Contras: "Flight was pushed out at least 5 times before departing. Once we even boarded and were told to get off the plane after the delay became too long, "for security purposes." The pilot was completely unprofessional - he tried to make light of the situation. At first it was funny but the jokes soon got old. There was little attempt to to update as the delay kept getting longer and longer. We learned more about the delay from our phone apps than from the crew. Most idiotic and incompetent group I've ever flown with."

Prós: "I like the entertainment."
Contras: "Food and distribution of the food. Unfortunately on my flight the flight attendant was so busy that forgot to come back for the water/coffee drinks."

"The flight overall wasn't bad, but there were some earphones left in the seat back in front of me that made me go "eww." I also couldn't get the attendant to bring me a pair of earphones or show me where to plug in to watch movies or TV. There was also a bottle of water rolling on the floor, but that could have been dropped by a passenger on this flight. Overall, I had a "meh" experience."

Contras: "Super small and crowded flight, no safe distance whatsoever. A particular older flight attendant was cranky."

Prós: "The flight itself was as good as expected: Attentive crew and competent pilot, good enough food, comfortable enough (for coach) seats, and clean airplane. The seats could be made to recline a bit more but nobody seems to be doing it for coach class."
Contras: "The flight was delayed 30 minutes causing me to lose the connecting flight home by about 5 minutes There was no effort from United to help me to get the second flight on time or from the crew on that one to delay it enough for me to arrive. They suggested I waited 9 hours for the next available flight or to get one by AA in Reagan Airport in 3 hours. They told me that transportation to that airport would not be reimbursed and would cost between 20 and 40 dollars. I didn't know the airports were that far apart and the one-hour taxi drive cost me 80 dollars. From Sao Paulo to Washington, things went as well as expected. Once landed everything was horrible."

Contras: "Seat could not recline and sat next to a fat person who took over my armrest and and personal space. I got sick on this flight because of everything and I never got sick on a flight before flying United"

Prós: "The plane & crew were fine Loved the Business-Economy seating & staff & food..,"
Contras: "The change from scheduled Lufthansa to United was disappointing. Since I had no access to my email in Germany, I did not learn about the change until I reached the LH check-in & had to find United check-in. The flight was late getting into Newark which made me miss my connecting flight. Was back in economy & hated the food. *"

Prós: "Everything good"

Prós: "The flight, crew, etc, were fine."
Contras: "Somewhere in between MSP, ORD, and Madrid, our luggage was lost. After traveling for 18 hours, we needed and wanted our own things."

Contras: "Delays. Missed connecting flight due to first flight being 4 hours late. 2 flight keeps getting pushed back. United staff has not been helpful."

Prós: "Great flight!!!"

Contras: "Why does the airport have so many flights coming in at the same time that you can't deplane as soon as you touch the ground? Feels like someone doesn't know what they are doing! Very frustrating! I was late to my event due to this!"

Prós: "Everyone that works there"
Contras: "No free WiFi"

Prós: "The flight was rerouted due to the blizzard, but the staff made it very pleasant and easy to make it to my destination on time."

Prós: "Great pilot. Smoothest landing ever"
Contras: "No snacks :("

Prós: "Flight from Calgary to Chicago was excellent!"

Prós: "Nothing"
Contras: "It was awful. Flight was delayed for 3 hours because united couldn't get a pilot here who was even coming from a warm weather destination so weather shouldn't have been a problem. Poor planning. There was another flight I tried to get on but they couldn't seem to locate their flight attendants and it was delayed about 6 hours."

Prós: "There were maybe two of the flight attendants. Who weren't rude. The rest well, I guess didn't like there jobs? I lost all my money for my first flight, because i was over 4 hours late. When i purchased a ticket from cheapo air, the person helping me was so nice. Unlike United airlines, or Viama. When i missed my flight that i paid $1,300.00, United said they'd give me another ticket for $4,000? This was a one time offer to redeem my $1,300 Viama said $10,500? I will only buy my tickets from cheapo air from now on."
Contras: "The flight attendants are very snotty, 2 out of the 18 I encountered were polite. The rest acted like they hated their jobs, and all the passengers. When you travel to another country they should have at least one person who speaks English. Can't really say much for the food, essentially requesting a vegetarian meal was out of the question, so i just starve. Drink some watered down booze, take a few dramamine and sleep. The layovers are ridiculous. 14 hours, 8 hours 4 hours? Good thing God made Beer and pizza."

Prós: "Wow- I was flat out told by the supervisor that "you used a travel agent, Kayak, how is this United's problem? This supervisor then confirmed that my 30 min connection was "on the screen, if you don't like it you shouldn't have booked it, since you used an agent we are not doing anything and it's not our problem". Offered to move me to the earlier flight for $775 per ticket. For a 2 hour flight that was only one leg and also same day. Disgusting people."
Contras: "The first two agents didn't understand what I was asking when I asked if we could switch to an earlier flight. Both, yes both, told me there were no seats available when I saw 4 first class seats on line. By the way, did I fail to mention that I had booked 2 International full fair first class tickets? To be treated like they were doing me a favor."

Prós: "Good time of day flight"
Contras: "Very cramped small plane"

Contras: "Landing."

Prós: "I liked the direct option to Seattle versus a layover mid country."
Contras: "Boarding procedures seem to make no sense. I don't understand why airlines stopped boarding from back to front. I can't see how this "zone" makes it any faster. Entertainment was not free. I get having paid movies, but there should be some free options."

Contras: "In flight entertainment didn't work at all"

Prós: "Clean, timely, professional and friendly."
Contras: "A bit cramped in coach so not ideal for a red eye (want to rest) flight."

Prós: "Aircraft with old decoration. Could not see a single smile from the crew."

Prós: "Crew was nice"
Contras: "The screen was frozen the whole flight."

Contras: "The plane was late, the gate was changed after being brought to the first gate by wheelchair, the plane interior did not smell fresh. It had an unpleasant lavatory smell."

Prós: "Crew professional"
Contras: "Unhappy that my luggage didn't make it"

Prós: "Everything! My grandparents needed special assistance with wheelchair and the crew was very helpful!"

Contras: "Couldn't reserve/request a seat. Assigned to me About 1.5 hours prior to boarding. Had to wait Around the gate. Should have told me I would not have any choice. Could have walked around. Got a middle seat. It was a long flight."

Prós: "The flight attendants gave a full can of soda vice pouring into one single cup."
Contras: "Nothing"

Prós: "Crew was great, captain was a comedian. Pretty sure he broke the speed limit getting from Denver to OKC (95 minute flight took just about 67 minutes. Hey, the pilot told us he was going supersonic) no complaints here. Again, great entertainment, flight didn't last long enough to enjoy the free wifi entertainment."
Contras: "This was a 6 person row plane. As such, with three on each side and more people front to back, I lost leg and shoulder room. At 6'4" & 280 with size 14 feet, you notice these things."

Contras: "Seat/space"

Prós: "Once again, no problems occurred on this flight. I was just glad that I was on my way back home."
Contras: "I arrived at 4:58 AM and there was no coffee shop in the terminal 7 arrival area. I had to walk all the way to Delta airlines terminal 5 just to buy a cup of coffee. What. A. Shame."

Prós: "The duration of the flight - no stops"
Contras: "The food was poor, the airplane was an old one"

Prós: "The flight was late, overbooked, and there was a weight problem that caused further delays."
Contras: "Delays, comfort, and rudeness of the flight attendant. It was just a horrible experience all around!"
