Imagine my surprise when I check-in for an international flight and I'm told I can't check any luggage because it isn't included on my ticket. I ended up paying $210 to check two bags. Also expect to pay a bit more for decent seat assignments. My default seat assignment was at the very back of the plane, right against the rear bulkhead where seats often can't recline. So, another $60 to move elsewhere."

We solved it swapping seats with other passengers. We were 4 with 3 carry-on bags. The person who was in charge was very rude. They don't allow us to carry any of them in the cabin and 1 arrived broken. I had no problems like this before, With full flights like this is normal to have to send some luggage that you expect in the cabin to the hold, but in this case the crew was very unclear and rude. The food: it was a short flight and they give us our snack just seconds before the landing. Finally, they lost 1 of our bags. Waiting to see if it appears."

The bad part was that I saw 2 members of the search party sneeze into the gloves and touch their noses without changing gloves. How disgusting!!! Never Latam again! Contras: "There was an air traffic controller's strike which I acknowledge was out of the airline's control. However, the airline had no systems in place to manage the number of affected passengers or provide timely communication. There was a five + hour standing wait at the check-in desk. Finally, our bags were checked and we were given boarding passes, only to spend another hour in the departure lounge without any information. In the end, our flight was cancelled without any apologies. There was no direction or assistance given to any of the passengers affected to reclaim their luggage or make alternative plans. In fact we were given incorrect information that we should rejoin the 5hr queue at the check-in desk to rebook on another flight for the following day (which we decided to forgo). It could only be described as a chaotic and unpleasant experience. I am told industrial strikes are common in Argentina so I am surprised that the airline hasn't found a better way to deal with these events."

Prós: "Always great to be able to make the journey from Chile to North America during the day with a power outlet and plenty of space to work on my laptop. There were also plenty of movie options, and friendly and helpful staff."
Contras: "Boarding was a bit chaotic. Somehow the travel agent inform me of the revised departure time until 3 hours before the flight, but I don't know if that's the airline's fault. The only reasons I didn't rate the entertainment as excellent was that the system never played movies on the first try. I always had to do the sequence twice."
