The employees of the Avianca realizing that told me that I need to weight my Carry on bag. I never see something like that before, I ask to her if everybody need to weight the carry on bag, She told me yes, but I stay on Checking places for a long time and I don't see anybody weight theirs carry on bags. Basically the company want to get my Money forced me to pay for extra weight."

Prós: "When attempting to make the connection flight in Columbia, I was informed that I was being placed on standby due to overbooking by the airline. I was traveling with my service dog also. What is exactly am I supposed to do in Bogota, Columbia for an unexpected additional 24 hours? I had no money, and my credit card wouldn't work there. This was the worst airline experience in my life. Absolutely horrible. I will never travel with Avianca again. Avianca staff spoke hardly any English, so I couldn't hardly communicate with them either. Horrible."

Contras: "Almost one hour late to leave GRU. Flight Stats showed the delay more than one hour before the company say something. They boarded everyone late and kept us in the plane waiting for a conection flight that they already knew would arrive late."

Contras: "The tickets we paid for back in August of 2017 were bought for a direct flight. When checking in for our flight back to JFK on March 18th, they told us there were no seats available. They then put us on a connecting through Orlando, all of us had to sit separately now. We had to each spent money we did not intend to use for this vacation on food since our day was well extended beyond expected and parking fees for keeping our car at JFK longer. Once arrived in Orlando, two out of the four of us missed our flight to JFK because they gave us the wrong boarding passes and because we are students in college, lost multiple hours of studying tonight. We had to then work with Delta who was kind enough to find us a flight multiple hours later. Like said before, this split our group up and caused multiple difficulties. We will never fly Copa again. They believe a $400 Copa airlines voucher is justifiable for what happened but it is not. I’ll never fly with them again for this inconvenience so a voucher doesn’t do anything."

Prós: "There were a few crew members that were working really hard and reached out to try to help me."
Contras: "I was frustrated by the lack of communication. There was no announcement that the there was even a delay until AFTER the boarding time had passed. I was extremely confused and when the announcement was finally made, it was in Spanish only. Then the flight was cancelled (which is understandable and totally happens) but no one assisted me with rebooking or informed me what was going on. I was traveling alone and it was a very frustrating experience. Overall I was at the airport from 11pm to 4am the NEXT day. We were offered accommodation but not until 11am (our flight was supposed to be at 5am) and then we were shuttled back to the airport at 12 midnight for a 4:40am flight. Then my layover in Panama City was extended by 4 hours. Overall, my travel time was nearly 56 hours."

Contras: "AC in the plane didn't work on the ground (during boarding and taking off). It had been extremely hot and sweaty before we took off. Cheap earphones provide very bad quality of sound. I barely could hear anything. I had to use my personal earphones."

Contras: "I was forced/tricked to check my instrument on the boarding gate when what i really asked for is for the crew to take it o tha plane or for them to let me take it on carry on. Someone lied to me and then they checked in with the loggage"

Contras: "I traveled with my family from San Francisco to Brazil We were told that we should get the Yellow Fever vaccine even before we leave San Francisco. We called Copa and every time each of us talked to Copa we were given a different instruction. Very confusing and stressful. We decided not to get the vaccination, taking into consideration the cost of it, $159.00 for each family member!!!"

Contras: "I've flown a lot of different business class flights in my time and these are the narrowest I've ever seen. I am not overweight but I felt very restricted in these seats. Add to the narrow seats is the design of the seat and armrests themselves and you don't have much space at all. No way I was going to be able to work on my laptop in this LATAM business class seat."

Electronic check in system was not working twice, perhaps due to international minors, had to wait in line in order to check in. The boarding pass for our connection from Rio to Miami was not given to us in Sao Paulo when we had to manually check in. As a result, we had to exit the secured area in Rio to go check in manually again for our connection and then go through security and customs again."

Contras: "The flight at first had a 3 HOUR delay do to a "mechanical breakdown". We were told that they were going to bring another airplane from Rio de Janeiro. After the 3 hours passed they were only announcing in Portuguese to board the original plane. They never changed planes or provided a clear explanation to the passengers. Many of us refused to board. This was one of the worse experiences I have ever had. The staff was disrespectful and would not help us. We ended up taking another flight until the following night!!"

Contras: "Latam The website of Latam is useless. The services for people in broadcoast is so difficult that almost impossible (email, facebook, telephone, etc) In my case, i was in Africa and couldn´t change my ticket. My brother had to change it from Argentina."

Prós: "Staff was nice despite the situation."
Contras: "The flight was cancelled, we were reassigned to a Turkish Airlines flight that departed more than 6 hours later than our cancelled flight, we were given lunch but at a fast food restaurant even when we had to carry along all our luggage (super un-practical). And searching for info on twitter I found out this flight gets cancelled quite a lot."

Prós: "I like the food,delicious I like entertainment very good!"
Contras: "The service very slow. The sits very small,no confortable!"

Prós: "The crew was great even though there was no food or beverage service. They were very sweet to my 16 month old son and even have him a Flight Crew pin!"
Contras: "The air was stuffy even with the overhead vent on. The seats weren’t super comfortable."

Prós: "Boarding from Dallas was very good but when landed in London there was no service provided to me as I requested. I asked for wheelchair and help claiming my luggage due to health problem but when I asked at the airplan gate if some body will help me the answer was wait over there with a rude way and ended by walking to the passport area and claiming my bags by my self, my bags was not there and I was going back and forth to follow directions been given to find my luggage. I was very exhausted and tired and asked people around me for help."
Contras: "There was no help at all especially from the British airway. Unlikely there was very rude answer by telling me if you need help you can hire somebody to help you at claiming bags area. This answer was not expected at all and I was very disoppointed as I made a request to have a wheelchair from London. This request was ignored in London. I was very tired and placed my self to a risk of injury because I hade recent surgery to my right shoulder. As a British air way and this was my first experience I will think carefully next time to use this service again. One of my luggage was damaged and this bag was new and this was my first time to use it they told me at customer service this just a scratch and there is no liability for this kind of damage. hopefully some body can investigate this and do something"

Contras: "Crew do not know what kind of menu they have. We had white fish moqueca, rice was uncooked. Moqueca was flavored Boarding was very confused, we bought premium economy, on advertising we could check-in on business class, no specific line for business or economic, only separated line for first clas"

Prós: "AA is always on time! Love the premium economy!"

Contras: "Today’s flight was extremely cold. Almost everyone in the plan was under the covers at some point."

Contras: "Space!!!!"

Contras: "Was informed when we checked in that the flight we had purchased did not exists. We were informed thatcher would have to wait 24hours (after an already 7 hour layover) to catch another flight to Los Angeles. After debating with customer servinge several times and being forced to wait in line after being told things were fixed several time we had to threaten to record conversations and had someone call American Airlines headquarters and finally was able to get in the flight the same night. We at work be point were laughed at by an American Airlines customer service professional. I had purchased upgraded seats since I’m over 6 feet tall and they were not able to accommodate on the new flight, the flight was horrible and I had ton stand up every hour to make I the whole 12 hours."

Prós: "The only decent point was the food. Not great but at least edible."
Contras: "Since check in in São Paulo was a complete chaos. There were only 2 people helping on check in (in machines) and these people were still not helping people (like me) with questions about on how to do check in in those machines. On the other hand to dispatch the bags there were almost 8 attendants to receive the bags. Ridiculous! I’ve tried calling American Airlines and Latam several times to assign a seat for me and they swore there were only middle seats but I know how airlines work to make extra money on these seats. At the end, they only gave me a middle seat option and I had to take I.t of course. On the plane I realized there were dozens of empty seats and yet they made sure not give them to me or anyone else. Unbelievable! Unfortunately I still have to use AA on my way back to Brazil. After this, I’ll chose another airlines for sure. Also, the 3,4,3 arrangement is ridiculous: there’s no corridor space making people touching you everything someone passes by your seat. And boy! Those seats are so uncomfortable and there’s no way to incline the chair so you can even have a little rest (because it’s impossible to even sleep on those seats). The crew were simply doing their jobs! No pleasure! No smile! No engaging with anyone unfortunately! They looked miserable and I asked for water and the flight attendant NEVER brought me anything. Seriously! Water is free!"

Contras: "Seats and food"

Prós: "Dinner was decent"
Contras: "Breakfast seemed poor."

Prós: "Nice meals, attentive staff"

Contras: "24hrs delay and very poor communication from crew are not acceptable."

Prós: "During the time we were wkaiting for final decision on the flight delay I did not like any activity from crew and AA's emplyees."
Contras: "I understand some delays can occur due to tecnical problems and most of the times they are out of control but negative issues related to communications they are controllable and they must be reviewed and implemente properly."

Prós: "Cookie hehehh"

Prós: "Lots of movie options."
Contras: "I didn't like anything else about the flight. My seat was broken and the seats are incredibly cramped! Absolutely no leg room whatsoever. I am 6 feet tall which is an average male height so I can't imagine how anyone taller fits in those seats."

Contras: "There was a older Caucasian flight attendant that didn't have a name tag on that touched me twice on the shoulder"

Prós: "Customer service good. Offered food/service quickly."
Contras: "Film selection was subpar, and had no subtitles available. Flight safety information video so unbelievably boring. Flight crew repeated all instructions at least 3 times including video interruptions. What is the point of having in flight entertainment if crew will interrupt said entertainment at least once every 10 min to remind you you are still in turbulent air? Do they honestly think the passengers forgot? We are in the plane too! I understand they have to be careful due to liability but this airline is ridiculous. Believe it or not customers do not like being treated like children. Would not recommend to others or fly this airline again. Also, the lunch was awful even by airline standards. Btw the airline was avianca not AA. kayak must have messed up or they are owned by AA. AA is great and I recommend them wholeheartedly but Avianca is awful. Stay away if you can afford to do so."

Prós: "Slept very well in business. Great crew!"

Contras: "I did not fly I lost my flight they had a problem with the airplane on my flight from brasilia to sao paulo so I arrived late lost the connection to my other flight from Sao Paulo to LAX. Also they lost my luggage. LATAM and American Air Lines doesnt know where my luggage is. I arrived at my LAX 12 hours after. They still dont know where my luggage is"

Contras: "I had my reservation cancelled despiste numerous phone calls. The flight was operated by AA, and they told me I wasn't on the flight, but after many phone calls LATAN assured me I was booked on the flight. When I got to the airport, I was not allowed to board my direct flight from GRU to LAX, instead I was sent to Miami then Charlestown , I took me an extra 12 hours to get home. I lost a day of work. Who's going to reimburse me for that ???"

Prós: "The quality of aircraft"
Contras: "The service lacked any sort of empathy. The crew on this flight especially the African American lady, I think are in the wrong profession. Didn't care at all. Seemed miserable."

Prós: "The in-flight entertainment interface was well-designed. The aircraft tracker is the best, the media selections were plentiful. Having the usb and headphone plugs next to the monitor is the best. Better than Virgin for sure. But strangely, you couldn't order from the food and drinks menu like you can from Virgin so it was just a video version of the menu card. Food was good."
Contras: "Someone destroyed a lavatory so we were short one for the flight and caused a 30 minute delay before take-off. The usual spiral happened: pilot flew into bad turbulence to make up time. No biggie."

Contras: "The crew definitely needs to be changed. There needs to be hostesses who are more attentive and actually care about their passengers."

Prós: "New plane"

Contras: "How does American think it can get away with a mediocre business class fitting and charge the same as Lufthansa and United? In this flight, the did recline 170º but formed a ramp that did slowly slide the passenger under the set in front of him. I'd recommend someone from AA should fly Lufthansa Business Class or Singapore Airlines Business to check out how it should be done! ANd then, flying a beaten up 777-200er while its competitors fly 787 is nonhing but a shame!"

Prós: "Overall, I liked the experience. Usually, I fly with southwest but I liked the price and comfort with American."
Contras: "Deley for 30 minutes on take off 10 minutes on landing"

Prós: "The price is competitive. On boarding was ontime. Though the flight was redirected to Omaha due to bad weather in Kansas City, it was only an hour late than the scheduled arrival to Kansas City."
Contras: "The WiFi was not as expected. In flight entertainment is null. Snack would have been better."

Prós: "I like the entertainment."
Contras: "Food and distribution of the food. Unfortunately on my flight the flight attendant was so busy that forgot to come back for the water/coffee drinks."

Prós: "When we tried to check in there was not reservation because flight was with American not satam - luckily we figured it out"
Contras: "Make it clear that ticketing airline might not be the actual airline!!"

Contras: "We waited on the plane for two hours before taking off with no explanation and no food or drink. Crew said they didn't know when we'd take off"

Prós: "This one at least flew off the runway soon after closing its doora"

Contras: "This flight was also delayed, was suppose to be in NY at 6pm but didn't get there till 9pm"

Contras: "The leg room on this flight was very tight. I’m a short person and it was still very tight and uncomfortable."

Contras: "I just wanted to seat with my husband but it was not possible."

Prós: "Crew was kind and apologetic after 2.5 hour delay, provided water before take off and tried to be accommodating."
Contras: "The change of planes forced our family of 4 to all be separated. In order to care for my ill husband I had to accept a seat change to a middle seat. Our original seats put us in seats 18 A B. My daughter was ticketed in row 40 and my son in front. We paid for economy plus, 1 out of 4 didn't get it!"

Prós: "Crew on flight was very nice. Plane has a lot of space for legs and comfortable seats. We got vouchers and a toothbrush with tooth paste (AT LEAST THAT) for our forced overnight stay."
Contras: "Horrible experience. Plane had an engine issue and ended up being delayed for so many HOURS that we had to sleep in Houston. The organization was a big mess - so poor that we reached the hotel only at 130am while we had to wake up at 4ish am to be at the airport again by 5am."

Prós: "The flight itself was as good as expected: Attentive crew and competent pilot, good enough food, comfortable enough (for coach) seats, and clean airplane. The seats could be made to recline a bit more but nobody seems to be doing it for coach class."
Contras: "The flight was delayed 30 minutes causing me to lose the connecting flight home by about 5 minutes There was no effort from United to help me to get the second flight on time or from the crew on that one to delay it enough for me to arrive. They suggested I waited 9 hours for the next available flight or to get one by AA in Reagan Airport in 3 hours. They told me that transportation to that airport would not be reimbursed and would cost between 20 and 40 dollars. I didn't know the airports were that far apart and the one-hour taxi drive cost me 80 dollars. From Sao Paulo to Washington, things went as well as expected. Once landed everything was horrible."

Prós: "Everything from ticketing to deplaning was smooth and professional."
Contras: "No problems at all."

Contras: "Cabin too cold"

Contras: "United crew was so rude. It was very apparent they were annoyed and burnt out from their jobs. I even overhead a crew member making a rude comment about me to another crew member. All I did was ask a question, and apparently it was a stupid one. Made me appreciate my flight to Amsterdam on Swiss even more than I aready did!"

Prós: "Customer care"

Prós: "Flight was fine. Food OK but to be expected. Entertainment good as per usual on United."
Contras: "My least favorite thing about flying to Dulles is getting on those ridiculous people movers to go to customs and immigration s. Creates a larger cluster of people at immigration and something else I have to wait on. Also - why is GRU already using buses for boarding 787s? The new terminal just opened three years ago-- missed opportunity."

Prós: "We had a tail wind and the flight was super fast!"
Contras: "The were a lot of screaming babies around."

Prós: "Crew was helpful."
Contras: "Very uncomfortable chairs"

Contras: "Personal entertainment did not work. Most first and business class airlines have a screen to see the movies."

Contras: "They don't know their guidelines or policies"

Contras: "The Asian style snack mix was absolutely disgusting. I was expecting a thing of pretzels or peanuts, not a ball of wasabi"

Prós: "The fact that I got fully refunded, even though I still lost out on $500+."
Contras: "My flight was supposed to leave at 12, and all that Kept happening was me receiving text messages about delays pushing my departure time back to 5:35pm. I missed a big birthday event I was throwing for my class that I teach, lost out on money spent for the event and missed out on all the memories made that night. I never got to leave, ended up cancelling my flight. What a waste of time. Seems to always happen when I fly through United."

Contras: "Check in was a disaster!"

Prós: "Pleasant staff. All smiles and very agreeable at the gate and checkin, but..."
Contras: "This new unassigned seat fare that offers the "cheapest rate" also doesn't allow a checked bag. What this means is that you have to do two separate searches to compare the basic economy price and the upgraded economy to see if the difference is less than a checked bag. It makes the booking process unecessarily complicated, so much so that I'm just going to exculde United from the list of airlines when I do a search on one of the aggregators"

Contras: "Food was embarrassingly poor I would rather pay additional fees to upgrade to s quality meal Bags in Edinburgh took over an hour and a half to retrieve But, the flight was safe and the crew very good"

Contras: "No reply from the airlines regarding my damaged baggage."

Contras: "Missed connecting flight Bc it was delayed."

Contras: "Being in the plane for 3 hours with no AC"

Prós: "Didn't think my seat was too comfortable. Had to sit on my neck pillow. But flight was on time. Crew friendly."

Contras: "Tried to book legroom online and by phone but told it was all sold out; only to arrive and find out it wasn't and had to pay $40 more."

Prós: "Very windy decent into denver but pilots and crew were great."

Prós: "After many flights with United, I am always pleased with the level of customer service. I've only encountered friendly staff from the skycaps to the captains and everyone inbetween. I have never felt like I'm just a warm body filling a plane seat."

Prós: "There were maybe two of the flight attendants. Who weren't rude. The rest well, I guess didn't like there jobs? I lost all my money for my first flight, because i was over 4 hours late. When i purchased a ticket from cheapo air, the person helping me was so nice. Unlike United airlines, or Viama. When i missed my flight that i paid $1,300.00, United said they'd give me another ticket for $4,000? This was a one time offer to redeem my $1,300 Viama said $10,500? I will only buy my tickets from cheapo air from now on."
Contras: "The flight attendants are very snotty, 2 out of the 18 I encountered were polite. The rest acted like they hated their jobs, and all the passengers. When you travel to another country they should have at least one person who speaks English. Can't really say much for the food, essentially requesting a vegetarian meal was out of the question, so i just starve. Drink some watered down booze, take a few dramamine and sleep. The layovers are ridiculous. 14 hours, 8 hours 4 hours? Good thing God made Beer and pizza."

Prós: "The crew was friendly, and overall flight was good"
Contras: "Half way through the movie I bought to watch on my screen there was an announcement made by the captain and when my movie came on the sound wouldn't work, the flight attendant just said sometimes that happens and I could try to ask for a refund."

Prós: "The flight was to depart at 8:15 but due to delay only leaving at 3;30. Dissapointed as it took two agents to process a replacement flight (first agent offered a connection for a 1.5h flight only)."
Contras: "More attentive staff willing to help and at the very least, be emphatic."

Contras: "United Express (Skywest Airlines in the SFO area) is simply unreliable. This time the flight was 3 hours late. With United Express (Skywest), the only thing you can count on are cancellations and delays."
