"I have some pictures to prove it , my flight from SP to Fort Lauderdale I could not sleep at all. Not only me but the passenger in front of me . The seat was broken, where you rest your head it was falling apart, I tried to put it back but kept falling. The flight attendant tried once and gave up . I asked to change seats and they did not let me do . I had to fly basically straight all night , I could not rest my head on the seat. Never again with this company"

Prós: "There's actually footrests that fold out like a lawn chair in economy and there's lots of leg room so you can actually put your legs up and sleep. First time I ACTUALLY slept on a long haul flight. Chairs seemed to be made of soft leather or some other super comfy material. Puts the older US-based planes to absolute shame. Super soft fluffy blankets, the flight attendants were amazing, courteous, hospitable, the food and drinks were awesome, loved the movies. 10/10 would fly again."

The extra time required for this tedious meant we missed our chance to check bags and do incurred hundreds of dollars more to get on the same flight the next day. No Bueno!!! This should be highlighted up front!!"

Contras: "Apparently you need to be at the airport 2hrs before your flight leaves otherwise you cant print your ticket and have to wait in a 1-2hr line to have them tell you you have now missed your flight and charge you $30USD to change to another flight. When it only takes literally 3min to get through security and to the gates. not sure why they couldn't give us our tickets when we were then an hr early. Then they said we were at gate 5. We went and waited there. About 20min before departure we noticed the flight info had changed and wasnt ours. No announcement. Nothing. We had to run upstairs to our new gate and barely made that flight. Extremely dissatisfied with customer service and lack of communication. Basically a company looking to get money wherever they can at the expense of foreign travelers."
Prós: "We are an American Family. We traveled on LATAM Sydney to Auckland round trip. The plane was brand new Boeing Dreamliner 787-8 with all the bells and whistles. The attendants who are Spanish speakers but bilingual were delightful. We had one meal on each flight and 2 rounds of drinks. We had no issues with carry on or checked luggage. To summarize we had 2 perfect on-time flights with no fuss or drama. I couldn't recommend them more even if I tried.."

We told them we had a flight to the US on the same day, so they notified the Latam office in Santiago. When we go t to Santiago, we only had an hour to spare for our next flight. Prós: "Despite having a high "Sapphire" status with this One World Partner and being promised "preferente" seats by the airline when I reserved seats months ago, I was unable to view the seats or check in online. Both their App and their online system were down and unavailable. We were never able to view our actual seats online. The "preferred seats" my group on 5 could not have been worse!! We were seated consistently in row 11 or the very last row of the aircraft immediately in front of the lavatory, where the seats do not recline at all and where you hear and smell the bathroom for the entire flight.. There was NO space to breathe in our seats. I have traveled on dozens of airlines and this experience and these seats were the WORST! After this happened once, I specifically asked to insure that it would not happen again and was told that seats on my next flights were good but they were the same horrible seats. Part of our itinerary was on LAN and part was on TAM, who have now combined into 1 airline, but still operate on separate systems. So LAN customer service could not see the seats for TAM flights and vice versa. Their online system reflected a changed time for our return flight from 145pm to 250pm from Rio. We verified it 3 times (even though we could not check in or view our seats because of "technical difficulties" we could see the new departure tie, and the change was confirmed by our Sheraton concierge, but when we arrived to the airport they informed us that we had arrived to late for our 145pm flight! We showed them the app that showed our flight was changed to 250pm and they could not explain the problem. We were delayed 4 hours and arrived too late for dinner in Santiago. The final 4 hour flight at 4am flight from Santiago to Lima was torture. The seat in front was literally 6 inches in front of my face when they reclined and I could not recline. It was absolute TORTURE! Avoid this airline! To add the agony, they have lost my bag and do not know where it is!"

Contras: "I had payed for an seat Gol + Conforto and one of the benefits was that the hand baggage compartment supposed to be exclusive to the people that bought this seat, so when I was entrancing into the aircraft one of the people of the GOl crew said that I’ll have to drop my baggage because the flight was full. I told that I had bought the Gol + Confort that have exclusive compartment to the hand baggage and I had showed my receive of the seat but they sayd that this benefits do not exist and took my baggage of me to drop off. It was an absurd and the worse thigh was that when I arrived at my seat, the exclusive space for my baggage was there available for my baggage and I had to drop off because the employee of the Gol didn’t know about this benefit of Gol + Confort seat and didn’t check out if really wasn’t space to my baggage"
