Always they put me on hold for hours and never reached anyone. I have food allergy and tried to request for special meals but the option was not there under my eticket number as described in their website. They say the option may not be available because I purchased my ticket from 3rd party, not from JAL or it was code share flight. Very inconvenient. I had to skip 2 meals out of 3in leaving for Japan. I got very hungry at the end of the flight...."

She has limited sight and we need time to get off and to find things.... given she has lost an iPad, and very expensive reading glasses and other things on the trips that span 24 - 36 hrs."

Average time that you need to be at security ahead of your domestic flight = 15 minutes! As with everything in Japan, flight left on time."

Prós: "It is so far a cut above the American carriers. There’s no way to compare them, because Qatar Airways is so far superior. The seats are far more comfortable and larger, the amount of legroom is far superior, you have much more personal space, and the craft is cleaner. Flight Attendants are fantastic! They provide excellent personal care, and are there for everything. They are supremely polite and courteous, and bring things in mediately. Very often anticipating your needs. This is what flying used to be like on United and American. But those people have completely forgotten what service is. Qatar is a 5 star airline. United and American, to my view, are 2 star at best."

Contras: "Kayak/priceline re-booked my flight for my sister and I from SAA to BA, but failed to completely reissue us tickets. When we checked in for the flight, we had no ticket for the first leg of the flight, but we had tickets for the remaining flights. We immediately called to fix this problem, but due to slow customer service, we weren't issued tickets in time and the flight left without us. We missed all remaining connecting flights and were forced to buy New tickets. Now we have to work with kayak/priceline to get all my money back due to their error. We came back a day later than expected and missed going back to work."

Qatar Airway is a hyper money hungry scammer who catches customers to rip money off from and creates a super tedious and painful experience for customers to ensure their private gains!!! Qatar Airway was delayed for more than an hour at the first departing airport! NO APOLOGIES OR MUCH EXPLANATION OF ANY KIND!! This is just how mindful and courteous they are. It sets the base tone of what this airline is made of. Then at the connecting airport, they closed the gate minutes before the departing time claiming the gate closes 20 minutes before the departing time, knowing they are leaving customers behind who has checked in and just haven’t arrived at the gate yet. And I arrived the gate minutes before the departure time. They can’t wait?! If so, why is it ok for them to delay for an hour without any explanation not to mention apology? Sure there are RULES. But remember what kind of airlines will have tons of rules that will guarantee you to fail?! Almost always the most shady, scammy and money hungry airlines who use ridiculous or ad hoc made RULES to set pitfalls for customers and ensure their profit gains by doing so!! Remember those European cheap airlines?!! They have tons of rules. You are set to fail even you have a smaller bags than some passengers who passed the gate without penalty. You are just unlucky – they set eyes to catch opportunities to rip you off whenever they can and whenever they are in the mood to be able to come up with lame excuses. With normal airlines, you realize your luggage which has been slightly overweight or over sized will be able to pass through without incurring any penalties. So any saying of rules are lame excuses and are shitty airlines’ lame excuses. The thing is good airlines will delay their flight a few minutes to wait for the passenger. If this is considered too needy of a requirement, then what happens next will shock you and reaffirm you how wrongful and shady this airline is. After missing the flight despite you arrived before the departing time, you have to purchase a full price ticket in order to fly again. As I declined to fly with them again since the ticket is too pricey and repurchased a ticket with another airline, they came up with an excuse that in order to release my luggage, they have to reissue a new flight ticket: so I have to pay both a luggage release fee and a flight ticket fee!!! What a gold digger Qatar Airway is haha. Luckily as I protested, they eventually didn’t make me to pay for a new flight ticket fee except a luggage release fee (really?). The sales office quoted a price of $250 to the luggage office. Then it took me a few minutes to get to the sales office. Strange thing happened, despite I mentioned the communication they are aware of, they are trying to find some “RULES” again to validate that I have to pay for an air ticket. I emphasized that is not the case. As I get irritated, guess what they did? They managed to come up with another excuse that in or"
Prós: "Qatar airways always seems to handle busy flights and crammed seats calmly, efficiently and on time. It's a long haul - 16+ hours, and if you have to go economy as a 6 foot tall person, their seats recline well, seemingly better than many. You have to plan your long layovers, and they do offer assistance with hotel transfers, but they don't advertise this very clearly - so do your homework before flying!"
Contras: "is it true that Qatar treats the passengers coming to US differently than the passengers going out of US. I noticed that the crew was giving menu cards for dinner when coming back to US. Food quality is very ad, quantity is small also. same story with snacks. they don't offer enough food overall. The crew should be trained better for int'l passengers."

In general passenger do carry valuable stuff in carry on bag. I had to follow whatever I was told."
Contras: "Mechanical problems delayed the flight 1 1/2 hours. Other than that, the flight was good."
Contras: "It was cold and the blankets got collected 45 minutes before arriving. Well, we had to wait 30 more minutes to get to a gate and I was freezing!"

Under no circumstance any airline employee should lecture a passenger about time schedules and such. I had read the rules online and was aware of the timings required if checking in online. I was surprised being accustomed to good service from this airline."

Contras: "the ground staff of emirates was giving me a very hard time and almost i missed my flight in 1 minute left because of giving wrong information regarding departure section (blue color polo shirt staff) after immigration stamp exit they are standing there and you are in right place terminal but sending u in other wrong floor to get shuttle bus to go in terminal 2 and the other ground staff (emirates staff) even telling same but once I reach terminal 2 they send me back in terminal 3 again. the worse part is the shuttle bus OMG very slow like a turtle to send u back in terminal 3 again. I wish it never happen to anyone as well. running until the last minutes even I came early its like nothing, very bad experience. (the bad things is I suppose to have flight morning but because I came late 1hr and departure stop from it. I cannot have the flight so I rebook the morning flight to afternoon flight like a bought a new flight roundtrip just to catch up for my day but. so imagine if I missed my afternoon flight too because of wrong information given by ground crew staff , who will pay for my flight? its me again and bad thing I need to wait until next day to catch up another flight incase:("
Prós: "Great food. Decent comfort but only because the plane was pretty empty. Crew was great but they kept disappearing. People need to sleep, sure, but I felt a little abandoned at times. Good selection for movies and tv."
Contras: "Boston Logan airport was a mess. There were at least 15 people working at the gate, fooling around. Meanwhile we were all sitting there waiting and waiting and waiting to board. It was a bit rude."

Then the connecting flight at 11:15am IST/TLV was fully booked and I was booked only at 13:30 IST/TLV and therefore arrived more than 7 hours after my original schedule - due to a mechanical. According to IATA and international rules I am now due a full refund on my flight cost and will start proceedings against Turkish Airlines for this money. It was a nightmare for all the hours waiting. We also had to deplane in IST from the JFK flight on steps rather than into a gate!! Same with the TLV/IST flight. Terrible."

I am 6'1" and 190 lbs and asked for exit row and they both told me all of them gone already. The thing is funny when I asked checking in was just began. After boarding I realized some exit sits are available. As a Turkish man who worked JFK for.Turkish airlines, I think this was awful experience. Turkish airlines and passengers deserve better service and honest employees"

Prós: "The whole experience was great. After an excellent meal which included drinks before and an excellent wine selection the flt attendants came through and made up a bed for you. This included a cover for the seat, a blanket and a big pillow. As opposed to United where you have to stick your feet in a little cubby the Turkish plane has just an open bench which opens to provide storage and gives ample foot room. I have never slept so much on a flt. Also he bathrooms are much more spacious than others."

Contras: "First let me tell you that when I booked a flight to Istanbul from Brussels, I booked, so I thought, the airport called Istanbul Ataturk with the initials of IST. What I got was SAW after I paid for a booking that said IST. Sabina Gokcen is one hour away further on the Asian side of Turkey. I did not want this airport! There was nothing I could do about this but bite the bullet & accept what I got since I was not allowed to have any corrections made after paying for this ticket. I am highly disappointed with Kayak. The first time you have disappointed me greatly!"

The only other available seat was in business class, and although the flight attendant later admitted I should have been given that business class seat, the other person successfully argued to take it. Staff are good though not as friendly as most Asian airlines."

Contras: "Cabin staff were blatantly prejudice, would not assist anyone who wasn't Turkish or of their color. I had an injury and surgery to my right foot, and as a result was using a walking can for m9bility. One my return flight to UK one cabin crew member decided in their wisdom to place said cane in the overhead bin. I advised her, I didn't like nor think this to be a good idea. Things move when taking off and my fair was if one wasn't aware the cane was there it may fall and injure someone. She insisted, and put the can into the overhead bin, and surprise, one of her fellow cabin members opened this b8n, and down came the cane on a passenger's head. For her injury, they offered her water and proceeded to hand the cane back to me. On flight TK 603 or TK 1983 we were assigned seats in economy row 20 A and b, well my son was seated in 20B, almost sliced his palm on the armrest, because the cover that should have been there wasn't, thus exposing jagged metal. I had to insist that we be moved and they should NEVER allow the cabin be loaded with such dangers visibly exposed. They didn't seem to show much concern, since the flight was full of "blacks"...! On our maiden flight on this airline, we had a 15+ hour layover. Couldn't get assistance from airport staff on simple questions such as where could one rest for the 15 hours, airport staff are busy riding around on automated wheel chairs, and when we asked them to assist an elderly lady who obviously could not walk the distance to her boarding gate in Istanbul, we were met with glares, or look of "they don't know English" or simply being miss directed, whilst my son carried this ladies heavy bag, including his own, and I on my walking stick, until we located the infraction desk, where a true gentleman, by the name of Mahmet came to our rescue, or more importantly took over the matter and assisted this lovely lady who was heading back to new york, to get her water for her medication, a chair to sit on until a wheelchair was brought to her. Honestly, in the many years that I've traveled, I've never seen or encountered a group of unprofessional, disrespectful and just downright prejudiced to visitors to their country! You couldn't pay me enough to visit Turkey or ever fly Turkish Airlines again in my life. So, so disappointed and disgusted by the whole experience it begs the question, how was this airline voted the 2nd best airline in Europe? You must have a very low ranking requirement, or my expectations are just too high for this airline, airport and the people I encountered."
Prós: "Everything from check-in to coming back home was great. The most friendly crew, clean cabin and lavatories. The food was excellent and plenty. The best part was that I could check in 2 luggages per person in addition to the carry-on!!! Yes 2 pieces! Can't forget the little pouch they give you with slippers, socks, tooth brush kit, ear plugs, and the sleep mask for your eyes. By industry standard, the head phones are better than most other. You feel like a first class traveller in economy when you compare to a similar booking with other european airlines."
Contras: "Because of the fact that they are a part of star alliance I thought that we would be stacked like economy cargo as done with lufthansa, swiss, sas, austrian etc., but turkish airlines completely lives up to and is the star in that alliance, something their partners can learn from."
