The seats are far more comfortable and larger, the amount of legroom is far superior, you have much more personal space, and the craft is cleaner. Flight Attendants are fantastic! They provide excellent personal care, and are there for everything. They are supremely polite and courteous, and bring things in mediately. Very often anticipating your needs. This is what flying used to be like on United and American. But those people have completely forgotten what service is. Qatar is a 5 star airline. United and American, to my view, are 2 star at best."

Contras: "Kayak/priceline re-booked my flight for my sister and I from SAA to BA, but failed to completely reissue us tickets. When we checked in for the flight, we had no ticket for the first leg of the flight, but we had tickets for the remaining flights. We immediately called to fix this problem, but due to slow customer service, we weren't issued tickets in time and the flight left without us. We missed all remaining connecting flights and were forced to buy New tickets. Now we have to work with kayak/priceline to get all my money back due to their error. We came back a day later than expected and missed going back to work."

Perhaps not qatar's fault(?) but we bought duty free alcohol in Brussels and took as carry on then after a layover in Doha we were advised Australian regulations prohibited us from taking it on board for the final leg - even though it was still sealed in the duty free bag. We were forced to check it protected only by some lightweight clothing and a thin back pack we had been using as cabin luggage. Fortunately it made it undamaged - but it would be better if we had been informed of this at Brussels."

I was badly injured in the armed forces and have lost my hearing which affects my balance. I asked for an aisle seat as I'm a big guy as s personal trainer. But was given seat E. Next to a huge obese guy. He slept whole journey, must of had nightmares and jumped and banged me repeatadly. I had the first meal, which was not great but edible. I couldn't eat it properly as I couldn't move my left arm due to the blob Sat next to me. I asked the stewardess to wake me at the meal times so I could get more food. She didn't. Not once. I couldn't even get out the seat to go toilet or get any of the help yourself stuff outside the toilets due to the fat blob I was put next too. Totally disgusted with the whole flight and crew when everytime I've used the same company before it was excellent."

Contras: "Our Kochi to Dubai flight was late, the bus at Dubai airport was extremely slow and we reached Dubai airport two minutes prior to the closing of the boarding of the onward flight. We had to literally run to catch our onward flight to Boston. However, the ground staff at Dubai were excellent, called the gate staff to alert them about us and managed to get us on board. Surprisingly, our luggage was also loaded on to the same flight and we couldn't believe we got the luggage in Boston! Overall, all went well."

Contras: "There was a nosiey family setting behind us they bothered us an the ppl around us the little kid was very hyper and loud un polite and the father him self is very rough when getting up an setting as he would grap the chair very hard and he would move and kick alot we complained to the crew but he didn’t stop and the noise and bothering was there the whole flight, the captain of the flight felt like he isnt a professional as the plain was moving in unstable way on a high speed and uncomfortable degree where we felt unsafe at a point, the flight was Delayed one hour so as the time we took of we reach to dubai an hour late and had just around 50 min to get to the connected flight we had to run and we couldn’t rest or take a look at the airport our waiting time was 1:50 min because of the delay we had to run for the next flight, i think that Emirates airlines should stop dealing with Flydubai crew as they aren’t as professional and they are effecting in a bad way, i have traveled many times with Emirates and this is the first time i dont feel satisfied, next time ill make sure the flight isnt oprated by Flydubai they crew and captain is not in the professional level at all."
Contras: "My seat is horrible with something looks like vomit everywhere between a gap of the seat in front of me. Also the touch screen is not working, at first I pushed so hard until i hurt my finger tip, at the end I used buttons on an remote to control the screen(stupid me!!). The screen reset to an old version couple of times during the flight the crew had to reset for me( the airline should know what i'm talking about) It's a six-hour flight but the meal was literally served at 8.55pm(original time) in my section which is the last section to get food when the flight took of at 6.10pm(original time) - almost three hours into the flight. Can't believe they claimed to be number one airline in the world. If you fly to the States from thailand. Take Quatar if you want to go to the east coast or asian airlines any thing japanese or korean or even chinese airline like Hainan airline. They are all way better than this."

Contras: "The boarding process in ORT was a horrible fail. they didn't announce the boarding of first/business and by the time I arrived at my seat there was almost no overhead room left because people from economy put there bags in the business area. The bathroom was definitely not cleaned enough, I went twice where the floor was soaked, the seat was wet and the sink full of toothpaste. I understand that every passenger should be responsible enough to clean up after themselves, but it was not an enjoyable experience. The crew was friendly enough, but it didnt feel like the personalized service experience that is usually the case (where they introduce themselves, explain the do not disturb sticker etc). Also I think there was something wrong with my seat because it didnt "lay flat" all the way."
Prós: "The staff at the check in counter at JFK was very friendly and accommodating, much like the crew on the flight. Boarding was orderly and efficiently executed, although some announcement about the 30-minute boarding delay would have been appreciated. Onboard the seating was quite comfortable compared with other airlines I have travelled on and the crew was exceptional in their service - really customer-focused. The meals were tasty with unlimited snacks and complimentary drinks. Generally, I would highly recommend this airline."
Contras: "The TV and remote controls could be updated. Touch screen was largely slow to respond and the whole system could be more intuitive."
Contras: "In cochin to Dubai flight , There was no space to put my carry on baggage, I ask the crew to find the place and put it, but one of the crew said there is a place in the front but she cant take it there, I told her if it is above my seat and close to my seat I don't mind to put , some body taken my space its your responsibility to find the place and put it. then she called her supervisor and the supervisor told me the bag is heavy for her, (the bag was only 7 kg). I have to take the bag all the way to front. The crew is very lazy and too much attitude, wont fly this flight any more."
Contras: "The flight attendants had been un attentive. I was missing a headset so I asked for one, but I never got it. I borrowed that of the person seated next to me. When it was time for serving hot beverages, I skipped tea and waited for the coffee. However, the flight attendant who was serving the coffee never looked my way, and she passed so fast before I got the chance to signal her. Afterwards, I asked three other flight attendants and even though they said they would come back with the coffee, they never did. Finally, when I was about to get up and head to the crew cabin, one flight attendant came by and I pointed to her that I wasn't offered coffe so I was about to go and see if I could get a cup of coffee from the cabin. She said that I didn't need to get up for that and she would get it to me. They eventually brought that coffee one hour after my first request."
Prós: "I like the flight route"
Contras: "This is my fourth time booking Emirates for my route through kayak. The route is longer but I choose it for on-board Internet for work emails. Generally, they have on-board WiFi Internet, however for my return route of 21 hours both flights had no wifi which was disappointing. This is unprofessional because if you are planning on having WiFi to respond to work emails and it is not available once you are already in the air there is nothing you could do but get stuck. Never does this happen with Lufthansa, Turkish, Etihad. Disappointing."
Prós: "Food is good, inflight entertainment is good, and even though the flight is long, Emirates does a good job inflight."
Contras: "29 passengers were arriving in JFK from MSP, a flight that was delayed due to ground staff issues at JFK (which means that Emirates' partner airline had some issues?). Plane was delayed but we landed just in time to make the connection or so we thought. After running through the terminal, we saw our plane attached to the gate for 53 minutes(I have pictures to show) but Emirates gate staff said the flight is now closed, and didn't let us board the flight. They didn't help us rebook our next flight, or pay for hotel or transportation. And some of us couldn't fly for 2 days because they were overbooked on their future flights. And that's what really happened - Emirates was overbooked for our flight, and conveniently used the excuse that they didn't know our flight had landed in JFK (seriously), and their ground staff was totally non challent about it. They asked us to call the partner airline to rebook, who instead asked us to call Emirates. 4-6 hours of calling for most of us in the middle of the night. Emirates has social media presence on Twitter & Facebook but it's like chatting with a wall. Its 100% useless and waste of time, and I have asked them where I can send my complaint but they won't respond."
Contras: "One of the flight attendants was extremely rude. She passed over me several times like I wasn't sitting in the most uncomfortable seat. In the middle. She didn't want to give me water, I had to ask if I could have some water. TSA held me up, I almost missed my flight had to be rushed on and no place to put my things so I had to sit squashed in the middle seat with all my bags for a 12 hour flight. I won't EVER go through Boston AGAIN. I won't ever chose Emirates for that long flight again, if I can help it. The WORST!!"
Contras: "This seemed far different from emirate flights that I'm used to. Over the years their service has decreased but the 1 meal and sub-par snack I got for an 8.5hr flight was poor, likened to a budget airline. This is the second flight recently I've been on that the drinks come so long after the meal you don't even get to enjoy your cola with the meal. The first food cart should have colas if there won't be another cart to come along until 30+ minutes later. I also expected Emirates to provide an eye patch, an 8 hr+ flight in the night time hours in worthy of an eyepatch. Budget airlines do not provide this, but I expected Emirates to. Lastly, I don't think it's necessary to hand out a menu indicating there is something to look forward to when the food is of quite poor standards for Emirates, standard for all other airlines. Maybe the Durban to Dubai route stocks he flights with less experienced crew, this is the impression I got; a much less refined group of people on the plane."
Contras: "Crew woke us up to ask us if we wanted food. I've only ever been woken up before for safety reasons (seat belts, etc) We were not impressed with the arrival in Dubai. We came in a large plane and had to deplane very far from the terminal onto buses, down a long set of stairs. They did not send enough buses so we waited on the hot outside stairs for about 15 minutes. It took us a full 45+ minutes from landing to get to the actual terminal. We were grateful we had a long layover or we would not have made our connecting flight!"
Contras: "How one of your crew member expressed herself to another crew member regarding the passenger next to me. just because he asked her what type of vegetable were in the eggs. Your crew member was very inconsiderate. All she had to do was answer the question and not make any other comment to her co-worker (Joyanne) about how she wish they (meaning ) passengers would read the menu. I was very disappointed about her comment. Even worst, to see how inconsiderate she was and how she did not even considered if this gentleman could read, or did not have his eyewear. I believe her comment was unnecessary and inappropriate at the time. I could not quite get her name, but she does not need to deal with the public."
Prós: "The amenities in Business Class were excellent - the seat was luxurious and you could actually catch some sleep. The food was gourmet and the staff was very attentive. They made a small mistake and forgot to serve me dessert but the mistake was remedied immediately when I informed them of the slip up."
Contras: "I paid a LOT of money for a Business Class seat and yet I was never notified that my flight was going to be delayed in departing by 12+ hours until after I arrived at the airport. According the the flight crew, they were notified at 9am that morning and the airline had my phone number and email, yet I arrived at the airport at 8pm because I was never notified! I spent $50 to take a taxi to the airport and now I had a 10am departure the following morning! I was given no compensation for this massive issue. Just "sorry, come back tomorrow!" I was very upset! My choices were either take ANOTHER $50 taxi home that night and then another $50 taxi back in the morning or get a $150 hotel room at the airport. So glad I paid THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for my Business Class seat (a big spend for me as I've never flown Business Class before but felt like a special treat for a special occasion). WTF, Emirates!"
Prós: "Crew is very friendly and fast when you turn on the help sig."
Contras: "I can't handle any kind of spicness in my food. I understand you guys try to give out food similar to the place your visiting, but I wish you guys gave out an option of non spicy food just like you do for vegetarians. I would also like to suggest that your crew members come more frequently to give out water. And the last thing I want to say is the most important, Boarding the plane was such a hassle. I would like to suggest that a crew member should come out and organize the way people are going to be boarding. They can say something like, "seats # A-C can you place stand on the left and Busniness Class on the right" instead of having everyone crowd to the front and be pushing each other. Or have those rope lines like they do at banks and make the people form a line."
Prós: "The in-flight entertainment was good, with many, many options to choose from. The headphones provided were certainly more comfortable than anything I have experienced on other airlines."
Contras: "The boarding process is chaotic. Especially so in Dubai. Moreover, they do not allow a laptop bag in addition to the normal carry-on baggage. Every other airline I have flown allows this. What is even more frustrating is that a women's purse is allowed, so I saw women carrying giant bags with their laptops, etc. in those bags, whereas I had to stuff mine into my carry-on briefcase. This is not normal (as in, other airlines allow it), is not mentioned in the ticket, not mentioned while given the boarding pass, BUT is strictly enforced at the very last minute right before entering the plane."

Contras: "Passenger seated next to me was bigger than the seat could take the whole flight it was u uncomfortable for me to even move an inch He was a smoker and smelt really bad I was told the seat next to me would be empty There was no space for my bag as others brought more than 1 piece of luggage with them on board The toilets weren't checked it was wet and dirty throughout Usually I fly 2/4 times in 60 days with emirates but this was the worse experience I had things on my tray before landing the hostess rudely asked me to put it in the pocket ahead of me as she didn't want to take it from me which is what I had originally requested for On the outbound flight I think your net package by mistake charged me Twice ! I strongly suggest if someone is bigger than a certain size then they should book 2 seats as 17 hours it wasn't easy for me to ask him to sit in a correct manner or have the handle half up so he uses my seat too Overall u satisfied and painful experience Net was slower on outbound too"
Contras: "I had a terrible experience on my flight from BLR to LAX on 12/30/2016. My flight from BLR was delayed for 3 hours because of fog. I had a connection flight from Dubai at 3:15 pm the same day and I was going to miss it. I had a flight from LAX to SFO(I had booked this separately via a domestic airlines) on the 31st at 10 am. The ground staff at BLR told me that they would put me on the 8:30 am flight to LAX on 31st. That would mean more than a 12 hour wait at Dubai airport and they informed me that accommodation would be provided. Based on this I rebooked my LAX to SFO(I paid extra for this) for the next day. On reaching Dubai I was told that I will be put on the 3:30 pm flight on 31st instead of the 8:30 am flight. That would mean a 20 hour wait at the airport. I was also given a SINGLE food voucher and told that no hotel accommodation would be provided. I was also going to miss the LAX to SFO flight which I had rebooked. I requested the ground staff to try and put me on a direct flight to SFO instead. After begging them for a while they put me on a stand by status on the 7:30 am flight the next day. I spent 12 hours in the airport. That flight was further delayed by 3 hours. When my husband contacted the customer service on 31st morning, they told him that accommodation would be provided and sent me an email confirming that. This was in the morning after I had spent 12 hours in the airport. If accommodation was available why was I told by the ground staff that all rooms were full? I also saw them hand out hotel vouchers to other passengers with shorter wait times than mine. Was it based on their nationality(I sincerely hope not but the reviews I am reading of Emirates online suggest otherwise). Fog and other weather conditions are completely understandable but the discriminatory behaviour of the ground staff in Dubai was really disappointing. This new year weekend was my honeymoon and it was completely ruined because of this trip."
Prós: "Normal checking process completed and waiting at gate early."
Contras: "Flight initially was said to be 1 hour late and then it was cancelled altogether. There was no information about why and what are the next steps. People were just following blindly as the group moved, finally everyone was led out of the airport after immigration cancellation, then to baggage claim where we had to collect all checked in big bags and board a bus to take us to hotel . The hotel was good but getting there with the big bags for just a few hours and then the flight was scheduled for night (12 hrs later than original schedule) They could have just held the checked in baggage with them, or arranged an alternate aircraft to arrive sooner."
Contras: "After traveling for 19 hours from Washington DC to Karachi, , They lost by luggage. They asked me to come and collect it after 6 hours. Went to the airport could see my luggage sitting in the trolley but still made me wait another 3 hours. NO COMPENSATION / NO APOLOGIZES Going back from Karachi to Washington DC, passenger besides me had a child in his lap throughout the flight. That passengers arm and legs were in my part of the seat throughout the flight. I could not sit or eat or relax. The child in the lap kept on touching me and the food I had on the tray as was unable to eat it. I weigh 165 but the seats are so small that one has to struggle. When back Dulles airport, had to weight for 1.5 hours for the bag to arrive @ thanks to big jumbo A380 aircraft. First class were priority. They checked in first, got their luggage first on a different belt, rest were treated like third class people. Never wasting my $ in this airline."
Contras: "The service in business class was extremely poor. There was 1 male flight attendant who was extremely rude and refused to help when there were problems with the entertainment center. Several of the monitors/remote controls were not working. The lay out in the business class prevents you from getting up and out to go to the restroom when the person next to you is lying down and sleeping. The seats recline in a way that are not comfortable. The feet are still downwards. Overall, this plane's business class was not worth the money. I expect much more from Emirates."
Prós: "The new A380 flight is very comfortable. The leg room even in economy was great."
Contras: "The in flight crew service was absolutely terrible. I was shocked to receive this kind of service by Emirates. I did not receive any assistance by the crew members even after pressing the call button and waiting for over 20 mins. Finally I had to get up and help myself. This was not just once but twice in a single flight. One of the stewards serving my area seemed very curt. The food was also terrible. My chicken dish was cold and very dry. Even the side bread was like a rock. The coffee that was served after the meal was cold. This kind of service is unacceptable on a 16hr trans Atlantic flight. Overall very disappointed with Emirates."
Prós: "The flight entertainment system and crew were top-notch."
Contras: "The off-loading from the plane after landing in Dubai was as terrible as I have experienced. It took forever to get off the train to the busses, the staff on the ground seemed very confused about who should go to which bus (much to the visible frustration of flight attendants), and once we boarded the bus, it was a half-hour trip to the airport terminal. Half an hour. Standing up, to get from the plane to the airport. We landed an A380 at the Emirates flagship airport on-time for a normally scheduled flight, and it seemed to take everyone by surprise."
Prós: "It was just ok overall."
Contras: "The first flight was late by over an hour and nobody could tell us why. They also serve food once and you don't get a snack or anything--you don't even see the attendants--for another 10 hours. Then they serve breakfast close to an hour before landing. The crew is constantly telling you to sit as if you weren't allowed to use the toilet at all when the seatbelt sign is on--and it's on the whole time. So you have to be asking permission to use the toilet when you are right next to the toilet door and about to go in because they don't allow you to use it. That's not healthy for someone to hold it."
Prós: "Emirates is truly like no other airline, they cater to your every need and genuinely care about servicing you and your satisfaction. The crew is exceptionally friendly and pleasant. They do not charge you for every single thing like other airlines do. The food is restaurant qualify food and very filling. The in-flight entertainment channels are numerous and will not leave you wondering what to watch. I wish there were more legroom, but overall, an excellent airline that I would definitely fly again."

Issue with crew, one of crew member forgot to serve food and after reminding they did not have vegetarian option hence have to stay without food, disappointed with kind of service even after booking ticket with competitive price and providing meal choice in advance. Somehow they managed a vegetarian meal but didn't provide any cutlery to eat which is highly unacceptable. Apologies don't serve any purpose if the passenger remains hungry just because of ignorant staff. 2. About entertainment option, less new bollywood movie choices"
Prós: "I liked the boarding and most the crew was excellent"
Contras: "I specified ovo Lacto vegetarian because I eat cheese and diary. I got a stale and very small bread role with strawberry jam, wilted fruit and margarine for the breakfast meal. The non vegetarians got a full plate of croissant, cheese, fruit and jams. When I asked for butter I got no response. I asked three times before I could get some butter as I do not eat margarine. Lunch was wilted and slimy lettuce and tired fruit for dessert. The main meal itself was delicious but I was hungry the whole flight due to the small helping.. Another small but slightly fresher role and margarine again. Next to the non vegetarian meal there was less than half the food. It was very disappointing."

After food was passed out to guests the flight crew dissapeared and never came to collect food trays till about 2 hours after and guests were starting to make a mess leaving food trays on the ground and isles. I had already selected my seat prior to boarding which I paid hundreds of dollars for. Then after boarding the flight crew asked me and the gentleman sitting next to me to move our seats to accomodate for another man that wanted to sit next to his wife. Then I was stuck in a middle seat and I paid for an isle seat. I thought this was rediculous. No one offered me a discount or anything! And the man that wanted to sit next to his wife wouldn't let the plane leave till he was sitting next to his wife. What was I supposed to do? Hold up the plane even longer? This was so crazy!! Outrageous!"

First, name two things on a flight line that are wheeled, movable objects. Did you answer bus and plane? Well done. So if both bus AND plane are theoretically mobile, why then must I endure a long walk AND a long bus ride? Boarding was an hour-long event, probably due again to inefficient ground services. I fell asleep and woke up twice before it was over."

Prós: "Of the multiple international airlines I recently flew with, I would have to say KLM was by far the best. Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

Contras: "I have a dairy allergy but had no option to prepurchase a dairy free meal. It made for a very unenjoyable flight as I couldn't eat anything they had. What was worse was after I told them of my situation they said they understood and had a meal that would do but there was cheese, yogurt, milk chocolate, etc."

Contras: "It was really unclear which desk to use at Birmingham airport to check in. It was extremely stressful for a first time flier as I had no idea what to do - the desk location wasn't marked clearly and when no staff were there it wasn't clear that the desk was open."

Within a few hours (and thanks to airline assistance) we were able to locate the suitcase. Even then it took them two days to bring it to us, two precious days off our planned vacation (7 days) At the end of the shortened vacation, we got to the chek in, and told that since the ticket I had purchased form them two months earlier was too cheap ... and since the flight was Over booked, they would take me off the plane if all the passengers would arrive. It's unnecessary to describe what I felt until the plane took off. They apologize constantly, but do nothing practical. a bae company. no me nor my freinds/family will go with KLM"

I hope you can provide my wife and I better service and an upgrade when we fly back to Washington DC on Flight AF 0054 from CDG to IAD. I work in the luxury hotel sector, and even the door men and room attendants have more autonomy to wow our guests. Flying AF does not want me to spend any more money with your airline in the future."

Contras: "Air France is not a low fare airlines, I had to pay 225 USD against 3 luggages which is not acceptable. We should have the right for one luggage per ticket as all other airlines. If I knew this will happen, I wouldn’t use Air France and this will be the last time I buy a ticket on Air France"

Contras: "It was loud, cold, the food was just okay at least my vegan meal was the bomb but it would have been better had when we booked the flight it allowed me to also choose this option for my husband. Since he is vegan as well."

Contras: "I paid for a"premium" seat on one of the emergency exit rows for the extra legroom. This was next to a galley. The seat itself was no more than 18" wide (NO EXAGGERATION!!) if not less. I had to sit on an angle (one butt cheek at a time) for 9 yours. I do not have a big butt either. This seat should have been a discounted seat, not a premium seat. I am so angry about this, I will NEVER fly Air France again."

Contras: "I am not sure why this happened, but our daughter, travelling away from home for the first time, was targeted at every step of her journey. From the terminal in DCA to Cincinnati, to CDG. Delta/Air France clearly singled her out. i am outraged! I have traveled many, many times and have sent hundreds of students on nearly the same trip -- and none have had as rough a time as she had. They will be hearing from me."

Contras: "Disorganized uninformed staff. One says I have to have an additional "random" security check after going through the same thing in security. Turns out it wasn't random and I didn't need it. Both times they read my boarding pass wrong thought I was going to Tel Aviv - not random. Airport was hot as hell! Flight kept getting delayed then we had a gate change as well. Finally got on the plane and it took forever to take off so we were basically sitting in a sauna for 30+ minutes."
