The friendly/helpful approach displayed by all concerned..Next time there is no choice Macdonald without fail - well done
The location, very central. Staff very helpful no requirment to find a parking space!!
the friendlyness of all staff from reception to cleanres. This made our stay the use of leisure facilities. The pool area could do with a little re furb
Very clean & comfortable hotel. Friendly & efficient staff Location was a little further out than originally thought..
the meal was excellent!
very helpful staff The £3.50 tray charge on room service was a bit much
Easy check in, size of room, temperature settings in room. Rooms in need of an update, a little bit out of the way.
Being able to use the swimming pool and gym We have stayed here about five times before and have always had a twin room on the Scottish Parliament side of the hotel but this time we were in a double on the other side which we found darker and a little bit noisier. We are used to a bigger bed at home and because of the size of the duvet we needed to put the bedspread across the other way and tuck it in, otherwise there was a draught on our legs. I think possibly when we booked there was only the option of a double room rather than a twin.
The room was very comfortable and quiet, the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The hotel staff were the most pleasant I have ever encountered, they were all lovely, which makes for a wonderful stay. No
The high standard of design, the cleanliness and the location make the Aparthotel ideal for stays in Edinburgh
location/ free use of the lobby coomputer/ the staff are very helpful and very nice. I felt very safe and secure. I would have prefered a more quite room, not located near the busy road. I think the beds could be a bit more comfortable.
Roomy and comfortable. Well equipped. Good location some building work and parking was tight
great room,good location
Having separate lounge and kitchen
Very convenient with children having their own bedroom. Having a kitchen made it easier for children on restricted diet. Secure parking very useful. 24 hour reception is excellent. Great location but still nice and quiet. Car parking spaces were very small and difficult to get in and out of. The cleaner left some toxic cleaning material in the bathroom by accident.
Very stylish and up to date; very central; Nothing
Very good location, excellent value for money - wanted 2 bedrooms, apartment cost £90/night for 2 of us. Could not have got that rate anywhere in a hotel in Central Edinburgh at that standard. kitchen very useful and well equipped - living room comfortable. nice to have 2 bathrooms.
Really enjoyed our stay here this week. We even got upgraded to an executive suite which we hadn't asked for which was a bonus :)
The location is perfect, and especially impressive for the price. The staff left a little to be desired - the service was a bit perfunctory.
the reseption staff who made our checked in was very helpfull staff
Excellent value for money for great location. Large, clean room very comfortable.
I liked the fact that tho we presented ourselves off the flight from Dublin at 8.15 am the receptionist said we could access the room after housekeeping had finished, around 10.15. We had breakfast and returned, very grateful. Had no complaints
very central far too expensive for a three star hotel
Great location, very comfortable hotel at a reasonable price, very easy access to the royal mile from the back. Thought the male receptionist checking me in was a bit unfriendly, probably the end of a long shift. I did not take any of the coooked buffet breakfast as it looked so unappetising. Rest of the breakfast was very nice though.
The location is perfect: right below the Royal Mile and next to the central station and the bus stop to/from the airport. The staff is friendly enough, the room clean and comfortable.
The location is fairly central which is good. The hotel was generally cold throughout, the room was cold. The room was clean however i would say the bathroom requires some form of general cleanup. I would imagine there are cleaner more comfortable hotels for the same money elswhere.
The location is great for sightseeing and for shopping, and is just a couple of minutes from the train station. The rooms are a good size and were very clean. The rooms at the front overlooking the train station are very noisy.
Convenient location N/A
Cheap rates for Edinburgh. Tired and room not clean - empty crisp packet lying on floor. A little spartan.
Great price. Perfect location to walk with luggage from the train station (less than 5 minute walk) and close to a bus stop (less than 10 minute walk) to the airport. Incredibly helpful staff. Clean rooms, well furnished. So pleased.
Wonderful hotel with great staff. Craig, the Manager, was a great guy always helpful and smiley! Would definitely come back. Nothing!
proximity to Royal Mile Hotel wanted to charge 25 pounds per day for small dog. When queried, they then said £25 for entire stay. Eventally, they did not charge for dog.I thought this was a very excessive charge and this should have been stated before we made the booking.
Pleasant modern hotel good location , good breakfast Heating difficult to operate no instructions extra blankets not provided
Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are big and confortable. Nothing negative expect for the breakfast. Limit amount of breakfast. Might not be a good choice if you are going to stay in Edinburgh for more than 4 days.
Clean and secure hotel. Good simple breakfast.
It was nice to experience a brand new hotel that was only opened two days prior staying.
Central location. Comfortable room. Breakfast could be improved with more selection of hot food.
The hotel is in a convenient location for walking around the Royal Mile area and exploring Edinburgh. It was clean, comfortable and the included breakfast was good too.
Clean and good location
Great location in city center Services were poor for the price charged, parking was very expensive, room was small, no face towels, lobby has vending machines with limited service and cramped
Friendly and informative staff! Excellent location! If you are in need of a place to rest while exploring scotland royal mile backpackers is an excellent start. I would recommend this over a hotel because the people that volunteer their time at the Hostel are very helpful and extremely kind hearted especially for those inexperienced first timers. Im a little too tall for their accomodations. I can honestly say that if you are close to or taller than 6 feet tall (72 inches) you are going to have an issue dealing with the twin sized beds with twin sized bedding.
Location and the bar The staff were not friendly. The room had an innapropriate magazine left in it from, i presume, the last occupant. The shower room did not have the soap dispenser filled (it was empty). The TV stations kept losing reception. T
Towels were changed daily. Shower and washroom are clean and comfortable. Great breakfast and simple but delicious dinner.
location there was weird smell in bathroom all the time....
this place is brand new, in heart of the old town and, modern, clean, and overall fantastic.
Centrally located, modern hotel. Great bar.
yes, the huge noise due to the hotel bar just under the rooms....
budget hostel, good location, short walk from Royal Mile, clean room
Self catering facilities no free WIFI
The central location and the cleanliness of the rooms. It was also fairly quiet for a hostel in middle of edinburgh The shower that flooded the bathroom floor, despite turning it the other way as much as poss.
Good bar, nice outdoor terrasse. Location of the hostel. Too much noice. Too hot in the rooms. Long waiting-time for checiking in.
Its location is perfect for a weekend trip.
bed ok toilet facilities poor, and not very tidy
1. Location: exactly on the royal mile. Easy to approach everywhere! 2. the plentiful information. 3. relatively clean kitchen. The shower n bathroom were clean but the shower was too small n wet floor. Noisy.....we woke up every morning with the cleaning car sound. N the bed was just fit to me, so for a tall guy it would be tiny. Also, always lock your room; the local robbery can visit inside. The hostel is toooooo easy to enter.
Nothing Very poor shower factilities, no locks on two doors, one shower not there , one shower no hot water
meeting interesting people had to wait until 10 oclock until the beds we were allocated were made up
On the high street of Edinburgh . Too noise in the evening
The bathroom is quite well lit and good The room is quite dim, and the price could be better
The thing I liked best during my stay at brodies was that most of the residents and staff at the hostel, were very feriendly The batthing facilities were in a very appalling state
Good kitchen Internet access is not free
