Contras: "Flight was canceled one hour before departure. There was no explanation except that the crew decided not to fly from Boston to Washington DC. We waited for two hours in a line to get rebooked. We lost our tickets on another flight connecting us to our final destination. Therefore, we had to re-book that flight and incur charges. Lufthansa Considers this consequential loss not responsible for fees incurred. This service is unacceptable and will make us reconsider ever flying this airline again."
Prós: "Very friendly atmosphere at boarding gate & helpful crew on journey, plus surprisingly good food foe economy class made for positive feel to this trip. Add to it the fact I caught a movie I'd missed seeing at cinema plus even getting a few hours sleep, this was probably one of my better long haul flights in recent times."

Contras: "Weather delay caused us (and hundreds, or perhaps thousands, of other travelllers) to miss connections. Lufthansa lost our luggage, and to get rid of us, told us they would send it to the hotel we had to check into on account of the overnight delay. They never delivered the luggage, and other employees later told us over the phone that this was not going to happen. The terminal was filled with tired and frustrated travelers, and to make matters worse, the Lufthansa staff were temperamental and condescending to many. At the peak of the chaos, the Lufthansa staff went out on break, while hundreds waited in line for over 8 hours. We expected more - much more - in one of Lufthansa’s own German domestic hubs."

Contras: "Lufthansa lost 6 of our bags and left us with no information or compensation. I sent them emails but there is no response from customer service. Costed us $500 to buy things on emergency basis for our family and they delivered the bags after 2 days. This was very unprofessional and Lufthansa has to pay for it. Can you please help. Next time we will certainly have to avoid The airline as their gate transfer in Frankfurt is horrible with very rude security staff who has no interest helping our family to board the flight on tight connection. Instead the person decided to go on his break right when we were at the X-ray screening. How rude and unthoughtful."
Contras: "I didn't like going downstairs to the bathroom. I'm sure there is a good reason why we did it. Also, the seats are too close together for a trip of that length of time."
Contras: "I guess I can’t properly rate the flight because it was canceled and I ended up flying United. I will say that that flight was fine. I was disappointed that there were zero notifications telling me that my initial flight with Lufthansa was canceled. When I finally got through over the phone, I was booked for a flight that I couldn’t make and had to wait until the next day to start my trip."
Contras: "All flights in Frankfurt boarded via jet bridge. Flight to Greece boarded via a bus. Freezing weather in Frankfurt. Are Germans prejudiced to Greek passengers?"
Contras: "Food was awful. No TV in the seat. And movies wouldn’t play on my lap top because I needed to downgrade the program in order to watch them. Paid $37 for entire flight internet and it didn’t work half of the flight."
Contras: "My passport was stolen on the overnight train I took to get to the airport. It wasn't until I was off of the train that I went to grab my passport and credit card and realized my tiny little purse was gone. I had to rush to the US Embassy, get a new passport, and then rush back to the airport. I didn't arrive until 40 minutes after my flight had left and I was a nervous wreck. Unfortunately Lufthansa staff could not care less. The guy at the ticket counter even looked at my new urgent passport that had the issue date listed as today, so clearly this all had just happened as it was only 10:50am still. What did Lufthansa do? Well they told me if I wanted to fly out the same day, I would have to pay 2700 Euro additional! My jaw dropped and then he said I could fly out tomorrow for an additional 675 Euro instead. I was still in shock as I felt like I had just been taken advantage of with my stolen passport and credit card and now it's happening again. I asked if there was any way he could find something cheaper and he said that I paid so cheap for this flight that I would need to speak with the agency I booked with to help me out more and then he dismissed me. Let me have you know that I booked this fare during an amazing sale that Lufthansa was having and I booked it directly through their website and now it was being held against me. There was no offer to pay something like a $200 change your flight fee. Instead he let that plane leave with an empty seat because I didn't have the 2700 Euro to pay him. Here I was, alone, nervous, in a foreign country, and I had to get my thoughts together the best I could and I immediately started looking up my own flights. I ended up having to book a flight with a different company and just forfeiting any kind of credit that Lufthansa would have applied to their overly exorbitant priced flights. Good job Lufthansa for being the worst customer care service I have ever experienced... and I have flown over 20 airlines and over 100 flights."

Plane crew were friendly and helpful. Kids loved the entertainment selection - it kept them occupied throughout the flight in spite of their young age (3yrs and 5 yrs)."

Contras: "4 hrs delayed. Terrible. My niece is from germany and this is her first time ro the US. She is travelling by herseelf and no one is there to assist her. She speaks english sporadically. Air canada is a terivle airline. Always delay."

Contras: "The lady who checks paperwork for animals at the front desk with Luftansa Airlines was uninformed and didn't know what she was doing as well as unnessarily rude. MY large dog was on this flight and after several employees had looked over my forms for him she came out nowhere and threatened to not allow my dog on board due to faulty and incomplete paperwork! I instantly went into a nervous condition of the sweats and scrambled to prove her wrong. When I asked again what was wrong with my (actually legitame paperwork) she just told me that at this point it didn't matter and that she would allow me to fly even though I was at risk of quarantine aty destination. I wasn't happy about this and asked again why there seemed to be an issue and she was unhelpful, handed me a business card for the USDA and told me that I was lucky to get away with her travel mercies for my dog. I had visited a USDA certified veterinarian and she hadn't given me the opportunity to prove this. I was confused and annoyed and while the other employees could see this about me, they apologized on her behalf. I really wish I had gotten this woman's name and work station so I could follow up with her and inform her on a few things. Other than that I love working with and flying Lufthansa airlines!"
Prós: "Horrendous experience. 6 hours on the tarmac, followed by a another 7 hour delay. I missed my connecting flight in Sao Paolo - had to spend another $1300 to get to my final destination"

Contras: "The plane was in the Houston hanger most of the day, but it seems they didn't test it. Even after being delayed on the ground due to rain and a mechanical problem with the ramp for three hours, the plane had to turn around and come back to Houston due to another mechanical issue. Finally left 13.5 hours late. I did receive a hotel room, breakfast and 10,000 miles compensation for the hassle, but I would rather have been in Brazil on time."

Contras: "my first flight was delayed so when I landed I had to run to the terminal to see if I can Catch my second flight I was worried my whole flight because I thought that I was going to miss the second flight and that my vacation was going to be delayed. Luckily they had not taken off and I think that they waited for us thank God and the crew"

Contras: "I didn't like that when I got on and off my flights. When I asked for help because I am deaf and mute no one would escort me to the planes cabin or the right gate. Had to ask 3 different gates which way do I go because I cant hear and I was upset because I thought I wouldn't make my flight. My wife made sure that they put on my information in the system that they would help me, but I guess it doesn't work like that. In future I will make different arrangement so that I can get the help I need."
