Contras: "We were supposed to fly back to Los Angeles from Tokyo on Wednesday, August 24th. We got to Tokyo Narita a little later than planned due to the Narita Express train being delayed. I had received emails that our flight had changed gates, and was then delayed, but when my sister and I went to check into our flight, we were told we were unable to board because it was too late. I thought it was absurd because the flight had not even started boarding, and I had gotten an email saying it was delayed. We tried to reason with them, but they would not let us on the flight. It was imperative that we got back to Los Angeles on Wednesday, but all our plans were ruined due to them bumping us off the flight. My sister had a connecting flight to Boston, which she then had to reschedule and was charged for. We were stuck another night in Tokyo, where we had to spend money on a hotel. The Singapore Airlines attendants eventually informed us that we could get on a flight the next day. This delayed us by 24 hours, which was highly inconvenient. It was also especially unnecessary since due to the flight being delayed, we would have absolutely been able to make it. I do not appreciate being bumped off of a flight due to airlines wanting to make more money, especially being stuck overseas. Its not like it was a domestic flight where we could just hop on another one in the next few hours, this totally derailed all of our plans. I do not appreciate the inflexibility of the Singapore Airlines agents, and this is not an experience that makes me want to recommend flying with Singapore Airlines. I appreciate that they did not charge us, however it was a major inconvenience that could have simply been avoided by better customer service and understanding."

Contras: "My flight to Narita was fabulous, so I was surprised to find the return flight home filled with a condescending crew, terrible food, and a broken entertainment system. We had requested a Muslim meal on the previous flight, but the food was so spicy and smelly that we chose to go with the normal faire on the way back. I changed it on the website when I checked in online but when we arrived at the airport we were informed that the meal was still set as a muslim meal. The representative at the baggage counter called the plane and made sure that it was changed back to a normal meal. However, when it was dinner time we were presented with muslim meals. When we spoke to the head airhost to request a normal meal he said that they only carried a specific number and an leftover meals were for the crew only and that we had to eat the muslim meals or have sandwiches. We requested the sandwiches - the muslim meal was too spicy and had made us sick before. The "sandwiches" were pretty much two slabs of dry bread with some mayo slapped on. Disgusting and dry. I wish they could have made an exception for us or provided us with something edible. It was a long flight and we were starving by the time breakfast rolled around. The crew was condescending and cold. My entertainment system lacked functionality; some of the buttons on my remote were broken."

Prós: "It is so far a cut above the American carriers. There’s no way to compare them, because Qatar Airways is so far superior. The seats are far more comfortable and larger, the amount of legroom is far superior, you have much more personal space, and the craft is cleaner. Flight Attendants are fantastic! They provide excellent personal care, and are there for everything. They are supremely polite and courteous, and bring things in mediately. Very often anticipating your needs. This is what flying used to be like on United and American. But those people have completely forgotten what service is. Qatar is a 5 star airline. United and American, to my view, are 2 star at best."

Contras: "Qatar counter check asked how long I will be staying in Ho Chi Minh, even though my visa expired in 2022! Surprise and they are aware of my ticket with a return in Thi September. Then I was asked for how long I will stay is not of Qatar concern. Too much of concern!"

Contras: "I get the safety thing with the window blinds but wish if it was 40 degrees outside they would let you close them until the plane takes off"

Contras: "No lounge in Philadelphia took my Priority Pass. On the flight, the woman in front of me threw her chair back without asking and almost had hot coffee all over me. When I asked her to put her chair up, she got mad. She went to staff to insist she could put her chair back. I showed them that I was indeed in a back brace for a health condition and that I needed opportunities to move and shift, cross legs to release tension, etc. Staff sided with the rude woman, who, given the chance to move to an equal seat on the opposite aisle where she could recline, refused to move. I was very frustrated and have never been treated with such discrimination regarding my health concerns."

By the end of the flight the waste paper places in the bathrooms were overflowing at least in the bathroom I used."

I would love to know the baker or confectioner of your offerings so I could purchase from home! Nice touch . . . offering hot steeped tea poured & ready to drink."
Contras: "Boarding seems so disorganized and is doesn't need to be. There were no clear directions for boarding categories which would have helped n the States because we are so used to following a simple procedure. More than that is needed in Athens where the V formation usually rules when talking about lines. Once on board, we were not served anything until @ 90 minutes after takeoff. If people didi not come on board with a drink - that is a long period of time to wait!"

When it was stuck on and the remote didn't work, they figured out they could reboot the system and turn it off. I'm glad I had my own headlamp so I could read during the flight, but overhead permanently off was much better than permanently on! I'm very grateful for their persistence in finding a solution. The agents at the Seattle location were very helpful assisting with our baggage problem, caused by Emirates gate agents in Dubai"
Contras: "The worst part of this trip was the surprise demand at the gate in Dubai that we check our duty-free liquor in a bag at the gate. There was no warning, no packaging to help protect our purchase, and no recourse We arrived in Seattle to find a liqour soaked bag. The liquor, of course, was a special gift and something we cannot simply repurchase. Very disappointing experience, especially after hearing good reviews of Emirate Air's generally good baggage handling and policies. Contras: "Had a layover in Toronto. From Toronto we flew to Istanbul and then Venice. While waiting in line to board in Toronto, I was told my carry-on luggage was too big and needed to be put under. I asked MULTIPLE times where my luggage would be- either Istanbul or Venice (final destination) and EVERY time I asked, I was told my luggage would be waiting for me in Venice. Once we arrived in Istanbul I asked AGAIN if my carry-on luggage was here or if it would be in Venice and I was told it would be in Venice. Once we arrived in Venice, my luggage was nowhere to be found. The lost luggage crew (and 90% of the people in Venice) were completely rude and acted like we were a huge inconvenience for them. (I've heard that many Europeans cannot stand Americans, but we were not being rude or obnoxious at all to anyone- we just wanted a quiet, romantic vacation.) So safe to say that it was an extremely rough start. We were in Venice for the Glass Art Society Conference in Murano and due to my luggage being lost, had missed the first day and a half, therefore wasting hundreds of dollars. Luckily my boyfriend's phone worked in order to spend our first two days of vacation (not to mention the amount of money spent on international calling costs) tracking down my luggage, but again dealt with completely rude people who barely helped us with any answers and even hung up on us multiple times (and I'd like to add that despite my frustration, I made sure that I was not speaking rudely one bit). The best answers we received were from the people at the Istanbul airport who told us that Venice received my luggage hours before I even called Istanbul- which I do not understand why the Venice airport did not tell me this because I spent all day speaking with them. Once I called back the Venice airport to confirm what the Istanbul airport told us, they said (once again rudely) that they called me on my phone but did not answer (which I already told them that my phone did not have any service and to call my boyfriend's phone number). So to sum up: I will never be flying to Venice ever again."

They make people wait and the queue becomes long to adjust their delays. My flight from Istanbul to Dhaka was scheduled at 3:40 am. They started boarding passagers at around 3:10 am. Before that, they even bothered to show up at the boarding bridge, let alone informing people about their delay. The behavior of the groud crew was an embarrassment."

The hotel Turkish Airlines put us in had terrible food and was so isolated that you could not walk to a restaurant. This airline was the lowest price, but I will definitely be looking for a different way for my next trip."

The supervisor assured us that we have nothing to worry about, as the second plane would wait as we are many passengers.however when we landed in turkey the connection flight had already left without us. When trying to speak to turkish airline representatives about getting a new flight, they were super UNhelpful, we waited in very long lines and were required so go to a few different parts of the airport to get a new ticket, a process that was not friendly at all and very frustrating. After about 2 hours of waiting on lines, i got a flight that required me to wait 7 hours in the airport and measley voucher for a very small fast food meal. When i asked to be admitted to the lounge (as i waited 7 hours in the airport due to the airlines mistake), they did not agree to grant me access. When i asked to at least get the wifi code from the lounge so i can tell my familly that i am stuck on turkey, this was also rejected. While waiting in the airport, i spoke to many other people on other flights who had been stuck in the airport under very simillar circumstances, some even worse than mine. I also have many friends who have experiences simillar experiences with turkish airlines. If you are looking for a reliable flight, that will get you to your destination on time and will help you out when a problem occurs, Turkish airlines is deffinetelly NOT the flight for you. I personally will never fly with them again after the way i was treated."

The person in front of me had his chair pushed all the way back, what the hell was the crew member thinking? I still did not move my chair and argued with the female crew. Crew members do not treat everyone equally. I asked for functioning pair of headphones and water, crew members never brought them to me. Responded by saying yes, BUT never brought it to me. I noticed crew members treated children and Turkish passengers first. I'm Chinese and flew Turkish airline- I felt the discrimination. Never traveling with Turkish airlines AGAIN."

Contras: "The announcements are frequent, slow and long. The food was alot of carbs. Nothing was bad, I just got a terrible headache and swollen ankles. Not the airline's fault, but it was hard to enjoy the last flight for these reasons. Also, water poured ahead of time on trays on 2 occasions instead of seeing them pour it. I was sitting next to a coughing sick person so I wanted to cover my beverages and food as soon as possible. My sound on video didn't work all the time. It kept cutting off. Tried my husband's headphones, but didn't help."

Contras: "Small seats, no leg room, seat in front of me reclined till it almost hit my chin. Narrow narrow narrow aisles: so bad your little carts used by rushing, bashing, crashing cabin attendants left my arm (on the aisle) bruised and black & blue. The person in the seat next to mine had an INOPERABLE ENTERTAINMENT SCREEN FOR THE ENTIRE FLIGHT. The crew was constantly racing back & forth up and down the aisles bashing into chairs, people, what ever... because the aisles were SO TINY."

Contras: "Packed flight. LH seats are narrow and the front porch is not extensible enough. Hard to place books and newspapers. Film selection so so."

They would skip us along the way while serving others, or even drop ice on us, and never said sorry once (instead, they would say it's only ice, or if I want 2 since they skipped me already twice when serving tea unlike the passengers around me on both sides). We paid nearly $6k for the 3 of us, but the crew made us feel as if we paid nothing. The entertainment system did not work well, and most of the time the movies refused to play. We were always suggested to restart, and were not even given free access to internet as an alternative. No one ever apologized for anything in the entire flight, it felt like this flight was a favor."

Prós: "Our flight from BLR to FRA got cancelled because of bad weather. The agent at the check in desk immediately put us on an alternate AIr France flight via CDG to LAX, which left an hour before our FRA flight. The service on the flight was excellent. But we are most thankful for the quick re-booking on a different alternative, ensuring no hiccup. We will only be flying Lufthansa from now on, and recommending Lufthansa to all friends and colleagues."

Prós: "Every time I fly Lufthansa I am super pleased with the food. All other aspects fine too."

Contras: "flight crew hit my chair all the time with the troller. Bought the places with bigger space on the legs, that was true, but was dissapointed with the type of chair that is totally closed at the sides, with no scape room for the legs laterally."

Contras: "Everything else was horrible. When we got to the airport, they didn't even know we were coming. They sent us to two other airlines, assuming we were flying with a partner airline, then tried to shift the blame onto Kayak. When -- and ONLY when -- we pointed out that we'd actually booked directly through Condor and Kayak had only served as the intermediary, they gave us a direct line to call. Then their agent said "You can't always trust the people at the desk, you know." Oh, really? If I can't trust your own agents, who can I trust, exactly? It turned out that we had an initial flight to Minneapolis, which was NOWHERE on the itinerary, on Sun Country. The Sun Country folks, thankfully, were enormously helpful and we made our flight with 2 minutes to spare. But it doesn't end there. We'd paid for business class all the way, but only got it on the interseas portions of our flights. And they lost our luggage on the way home, to boot. Take home lesson? NEVER FLY WITH CONDOR. I'll walk to Europe before ever booking with them again. And I'll make sure that all my friends and colleagues, all of whom travel extensively, know of our experience."

The accessories were entirely neglected. It was rather pathetic in that regard, and the food was gross."

Contras: "The airplane left Barcelona late and arrived in Frankfurt late. Lufthansa only allowed a 45 minute layover in Frankfurt to catch our connecting flight to Seattle. Because we arrived late - we only had 20 minutes to catch our connecting flight to Seattle. What made this an awful experience is that the flight from Barcelona landed at Gate A - our connecting flight was at Gate Z. This was as about as far away from each gate as you could get. This was over a mile to run in order to catch our connecting flight - I hurt my hamstring during the run. The Lufthansa "assisting agent" in the Frankfurt terminal was less than helpful and laughed when we told her where our connecting gate was. Not only did she laugh but she did not offer any assistance to get us to the gate on time. Prior to our trip - I called Lufthansa and voiced my concern that a 45 minute layover for an international flight was not a lot of time for us to make a connecting flight. The agent I spoke with said that legally - 45 minutes was a standard lay over for Lufthansa and she did not offer me any alternatives. This was not a pleasant experience with Lufthansa and I doubt we will fly with you again."

Prós: "Great service and comfortable bed for sleeping in business class"

Prós: "I always try to fly LH, but do so only if there is a deal available. This time I was especially impressed with the ground crew service in Frankfurt who offered assistance that I would have been too self-conscious to solicit, and it made all the difference."

Contras: "Our bags didnt even leave Detroit and the Spainish bag handling company was horrible. Didnt have luggage for 3 days in Spain. Our bags on the way back didnt make the connection. Whats the deal."

Prós: "This flight was fine. About as comfortable as I expected."
Contras: "I sat next to a man who had a vape pen and a can of chew with him. So the entire nine hours I spent smelling his mouth tobacco and I could do nothing about it. It was disgusting."

Contras: "The crew in my section near the rear of the plane was competent, but snippy. None seemed approachable. I contrast them with the Lufthansa crew from Toronto to Munich who were short-handed but so pleasant even though they were overworked due to some crew members not showing up. Lufthansa food is average at best. The central restroom area on the MUC to ORD flight became filthy. Aren't crew members supposed to police that area? Or are passengers supposed to bring rubber gloves to clean it halfway through the flight?"
