The first class cabin crew on our side of the plane was inattentive, though it appeared on the other half of the plane the crew was very attentive. This is one of the poorer first class seats in the industry. The "lie flat" seat is just that, a lie. It is pitched at an angle, though not as steep as some. Foot cubby is narrow and constrictive, bordering on claustrophobic."

As for there earlier claim of no 3 seats available next to each other .. it was obviously a lie because the seats just across from me where empty. I hope not to fly on American Airlines again."

The seat width and pitch was sad compared to 'low cost' airlines like JetBlue."

Thanks for the SERVICE (i dont flight with you no more, even though cheap flights, but cheap things are expensive)"

Contras: "The outbound plane from Newark to Frankfurt was late by 1.5 hr because United could not figure out how to bring the plane (that was sitting in the middle of the airfield to the gate and then they realized that they need get catering supplies to feed the passengers and we were waiting for that too. The inbound flight from Frankfurt to Newark was late by 1.45 hours since they were fixing a computer problem on board. The flight was totally over air-conditioned and when I asked to bring an extra blanket for me the flight attendant started lecturing me that I was wearing shorts and a polo shirt (in the 86F heat at FRA and EWR it was ok!) and that she had no blankets. The second flight attendant who for some reason came 2 miins after the first one apologized for the attitude of his female colleague and immediately brought me an extra blanket."

Contras: "My connecting flight was delayed by 4 hours due tknsmong in India. I called United ahead of time to tell them I was not able to make my flight and if there was anyway I could get a new ticket. The representative was confident that 40 minutes between my flights at Delhi was enough time to make it despite me reminding her about the time it took to get off the plane, pick up my luggage, get through immigrations and travel to my terminal. She was very wrong. She insisted I call them when I land and that I go to the ticket booth. Little did she know that once I miss my flight my ticket is no longer valid and I was no longer able to enter the airport in India. Once I reached the entrance I was directed to a Untied booth all the way at the end of the terminal and was told to buy a new ticket. There was no United representative at this booth. I waited 3 hours and even called the number posted at the booth. No one picked up and no one came. I had wasted several hours. I ultimately decided to buy a ticket online spending another thousand dollars to get back home when I was told that I would be given a new ticket at the booth by United. But I had to wait another 24 hours outside the airport because I was not allowed in so early prior to my flight. Very unprofessional and unhelpful when I needed it the most."

Contras: "On checking in we had to use a machine to print our boarding passes and take our bags to a bag drop in Newark. The man proceeded to put a large tray on the conveyor belt, swing our bags in the air then smash them down into the tray. This was done to both bags as if we weren't there. Had there been something expensive in there it would have been totally destroyed. He really couldn't have cared less about our bags and their contents. We were talking to a woman on the plane who was telling us that a woman a few rows behind who had a new born baby as was told she would be given a seat with extra legroom had this taken away from her to United could sell the seat to someone paying for it. The chicken and orzo dinner was absolutely revolting. The orzo was so over cooked that it just turned to mush and the chicken really didn't taste like it had ever seen a chicken. All this combined with the issues we had on our flight out show that United are scum and just see you as ££. Sorry I cant be more complementary than that, its just the truth."

Contras: "Connecting flight was cancelled so we automatically got out on the next flight. Our stop over went from 2h to over 7h. Staff at checkin were very unhelpful. They told us to go to the website to request a refund and wouldn't offer us any flight upgrades. We got on the flight and people were told not to sit in the unoccupied enconomy plus seats unless they paid for them. Pretty poor that considering there were at least 2 rows of seats available they are so tight they can't even be bothered to compensate us in a way that won't effect their bottom line. We completed the return request only to be told that refunds are not offered on schedule changes. Again pretty shoddy customer service and shows that all they are about is your money. The breakfast we had was disgusting. The melted cheese looked like someone had vomited onto my tray. On waiting for our connecting flight there was an old lady who was dumped at a gate on a wheel chair. They person then left without telling them what was happening. We could see she was anxious about not knowing what was happening. My wife went to the United help desk to ask for information for the lady's flight and was told she should just check the information board and dismissed. Not sure how an old lady who can't walk is meant to do this (this was explained to them). If United had bothered to make some kind of effort to be at least helpful in any stage with refunding / upgrading us and being helpful to an old lady maybe this review would be different. Ultimately all they care about is your money and will deliver a shockingly bad customer service wherever they can get away with it. I WONT be flying United again. I will pay more for another airline."

Prós: "very kind crew members and flight was an hour early."
Contras: "The worst food on an airline ever...witnessed so much waste all around me. No one could eat it. Entertainment broken and sound quality awful."
Prós: "The United Airlines lady on the desk at Terminal 2 was tremendously helpful (she had an Indian name beginning with S). She helped me sort out my ESTA and ETA for Canada and ensured I got through security without too much delay."
Contras: "I am pregnant and took a 12-hour flight. The flight crew did not provide me with food for 11 hours of that flight. When I asked the flight attendants for food they told me they had none, and it was my fault I didn't bring anything to eat. then I saw them handing out food to business class. I understand that I did not shell out the class to fly business class, but it's not okay to not feed a pregnant woman. Additionally, when I was flying form you were not allowed t bring water onto the plane. The flight attendants only provided me one small water bottle an two small cups of water. I asked for more but they said no :( I will never fly United again"
Prós: "Service,management, food"
Contras: "Entertainment was awful. You have to watch movies on your phone and then the wifi/app doesn't even work!"
Contras: "Let's first start off with the fact that my luggage was a few pounds over and it cost me $200. Yes read that again $200! My extra 5 pounds of luggage was $200... but if I wanted to bring a second bag up to 50lbs it would of been $100. This clearly is the stupidest thing ever. Then my flight was delayed by 45 mins. The staff were super rude... I asked if some of the food options were vegetarian and the workers like hysterically laughed in my face... well cheese omlets can be veggie or have meat. So I didn't understand why that was funny. Overall terrible experience, I will reconsider flying on United. It's not worth it."
Prós: "They got my vegetarian food order right"
Contras: "Old airplanes both there and back, we had a choice of a few movies on a TV that we couldn't access on demand so you had to start half way through, and the quality was appalling. We were supposedly promised we could stream onto our devices via wifi but this didn't happen"
Contras: "The flight was full to capacity"
Prós: "The flight was on time. Nothing else was acceptable about the travel on this plane."
Contras: "I was made to check in my carry on bag because United made this Economy Basic ticket where they fly the over head bins empty. They charge 25 for the checked bag and only allow a personal item on board. This idiotic arrangement wasn't even clear to me during booking. And i don't understand what sense it makes to create an entire class of passengers stripped of their luggage. It's definitely not customer-centric approach. The wifi was dead. It is ALWAYS dead. No entertainment was provided. I'd prefer the flights from the 90s where i could watch a film on a shared screen with headphones."

Contras: "Original flight booked was for 1:30. Week before changes to 5:30. Then 6:30. Arrive at the airport and flights delayed to 7. Then 730. 8. 830 etc etc etc til 11. No explanation. No food tickets. Rude responses like this gem: pointed out how long I was waiting with no word --> told by a united employee that he's been there since 7am. I point out he's bad to be there. He says he's not. I guess a united volunteer then? Then only handed out water since 'it's a short flight'. Useless."
