Location and hotel staff. Everything was great.
Perfect location for visiting and shopping Bathroom smell and noise from the street
We were upgraded to a better room, no reason as to why, presumably our original booking they could not fulfil. The upgraded room was lovely though. The barman on the roof top bar was useless. They were supposed to be open until midnight but quite often he shut up at 11.30 and didn't like it if anyone asked for another drink.
free Internet, pleasant lounge on first floor with rest room Spanish Steps a bad location except for luxury shopping--not near historic attractions or affordable shopping
Balcony with drinks & snacks at the top was great Sewer gas smell in bathroom- please check the traps/ sewer ventilation!
Beautiful old building at a great location small shower with a shower curtain that would constantly stick on you. Wifi turned out to work only in the small lobby and was very shaky. First got a small noisy room although I asked for a quiet one; luckily could change it.
The hotel is well situated for seeing the sites of Rome and with most circular hop on/off bus routes passing close by, the opportunity of easily going further than neighbouring attractions such as the Spanish Steps and Trevi. The staff were friendly and helpful and arranged alternative taxi to airport when Margana Travel (booked through Viajes Almeda) didn't turn up. The room, at the rear of the hotel, was comfortable and picked up no street noise. With temperatures about 30C, the airconditioning was very welcome. The cold buffet breakfast was the same every day but was enjoyable and more than adequate to set you up until you got to your next pit stop. The coffee was exceptionally good. The roof terrace bar was good for a relaxing drink. Not a major problem but the shower regulator was a little awkward and had obviously undergone maintenance recently. Bathroom was small but not the smallest we've had in Italy.
The location and their food(breakfast). Also their staff are wonderful and friendly. the beautifl ladies at the breakfast room are wonderful. they are always smiling, helpful, and service delicious home made sweets non loved the stay and the hotel
its location at the centre of Rome is perfect both for sightseeing and for shopping.
Location Did not have Room booked had to pay 200 euros per nite extra for a room available. no heat, room cold .Bkft 1st day bad, got sick spent day in bed diarrhea. Great hotel at one time in need of repairs and renovation. No 5 Star. Restaurant filthy ,shower broke, electrical wires in open in room. Lived and visited Europe every year since 1961. Been to Rome 20 times worst experience.Have pic tires to compare to hotels website, big difference.Front desk not friendly or helpful
The amazing 19th century builting. It's a trip in the past. Amazing. Service.
The hotel is very beautiful. looks like one of the attractions in rome. The room (regular) was very big, alot of space. The location of the hotel is perfect The breakfast was OK, not worth 25 Euro tho. The table by the bed had stuff glued on it and the lamp swich was sticky, but except of it the room's cleaning was fine.
i like Mr.Luca very helpful person the terrasa was closed ..if i need ice for example i have to pay service 5 euros
The rooms, designs and the hotel staff. no nothing
the view. excelent deco. no ice machine
Location was unbeatable. Staff was not very helpful. Room was comfortable but nothing fancy by any means. The pillows were hard as a rock and no Wi-Fi that I could access..
Location Service and attitude. No internet working - wifi or hotel computers out of order
Location, The luxury of the 19th century and a kind of new roman decadence... It's a political matter.....but nice ! rooms , poor of confort, decoration, bathroom, all thonks that imbeliveble for a 5star hotel..!!!! even a international plug for eletrical shave in te bathroom....
The staff was friendly and helpfull. The central location is superior. The old world charm and beauty of the public areas, marble, frescoes and stained glass harks back to what the lap of luxury was like at the turn of the century when this hotel was no doubt reserved for the top upper class of society. Because the hotel is over 100 years old she shows her age and has not been kept up to the standards of a Five Star Hotel. She is a bit run down and in the rooms it appears that the money needed to maintain the standerd to which it claims is lacking. The glamour of what may once have been the best hotel in Rome has long since past. She is a grand old lady who is in need of some tender loving care.
Walking distance to almost everywhere. very central/ Glad I was sleeping at the back of the building as front of building where my friend was staying was very noisy
The staff were very helpful and the hotel is conveniently located for exploring Rome. Breakfast modest no fruit, powder fruit juice and breakfast room very small. Plumbing needs to be updated, beds and pillows hard.
Excellent location close to the Tiber and Castello Sant'Angelo. Room was kind of bare bones with no coffee/tea.
Most of the receptionists were extremely helpful and went beyond what we expected in service. The television never worked, and despite repeated requests, it was not replaced. The wireless did not work. The bathtub design meant the floor flooded every time we showered.
The location of the hotel was excellent. It was perfectly situated within a short walking distance of all the major sights. I would recommend it for location only. Overall it wasnt bad but I wouldnt stay here again The room is musty and dated. It was not worth the amount of money paid for it (107euro per night)
centeral to city no
The location is excellent! Our room was close to the reception, and there were some noise in the morning.
Good location,staff very helpful
Very helpful staff. The hotel is located down the street from the main hotel. Very good for the $'s paid. Good value close to the Vatican.
Very friendly staff & service and good breakfast I would have wanted a room safe for valueables TV very poor - only 1 English channel with very bad reception
Convenient possition. Room in need of decoration for standard of hotel.
The location is excellent for a good short holiday in Rome. Central. We did not like the first room were put in: room 379: tacky and filthy carpet and aged cranky bathroom.
Location, friendliness of staff, The rooms at the 5Th floor were unproper of a 5 star hotel, the price is over to high
All ok excpt the air condition. Air condition was bad not cooling enough.
the location is perfect to see all the sights. it's very central to the Spanish steps and with in walking distance to the rest of the city it wasn't as upscale as we thought it was going to be, and for the price breakfast should have been included
Location was excellent. On a quiet road so not noisy. Staff were not very friendly. Restaurant suggestions were not great and no irons to borrow which surprised us for a 5 star.
The location is great. The room was comfortable enough. The hotel lounge was cozy. No wireless connection, despite the hotel staff is persuaded there is one. Ethernet connection + movies overpriced. Multimedia defficiency for a 5 star hotel.
Location Un renovated rooms, wifi doesn't work well and they make you pay for it, we had to change rooms. This hotel needs to be renovated. This is really not a small leading hotel or a 5 stars hotel as marketed
location II was upgraded from Junior Suit to a Executive suit which had a nice bedroom and a larger then a corridor made up to a living room. You had to watch the TV from a distance of perhaps 2 meters. There was another room with a table in the middle with 4 chairs nothing else which was useless.very small lifts.
The location is fantastic. 5 minuts walk from piazza navoni, Trevi fountain, via condotti. Hotel is very nice, with big old style rooms, each one different from the other. You have to wait too much for the lift
Location. Within walking distance of most sites Dated looking rooms
All in all excellent. The first hotel in Italy with the most friendly staff we've ever experienced. The breakfast is verry good as well compared to other hotels. I praise the staff of this Hotel. Great Job and well done. All in all excellent
the restaurant was very good the staff approachable and friendly also the bathroom and room very comfortable non applicable
Great location!! Rooms were good size. Our family of 5 ( 2 teenagers and one small child) had a classic double and a deluxe triple interconnecting rooms...worked out well..staff was friendly and again very central, liked that it was a little away from the busy people and traffic areas. Would be great if they could update the furnishings a little.
The location of the hotel was good for sight-seeing and was quiet and peaceful.
Location was excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was more than adequate. Room was clean and comfortable.
friendly staff; location; cleanliness last 1,5 days we did not get bathroom amenities/towels changed/refurbished (out of 3 nights stay) - for the price (even special offer) of it this should have not happen
The location to all the great areas of Rome was it's best feature; however, I did love our room and the views from the two large windows out into the neighborhood. A really good experience.
Location and room excellent. Majority of the staff attentive and helpfull Would appreciate english papers and more international food menu
Great location, walking distance to majority of tourist attractions & shopping areas, nice lobby Small room, unpleasant smell from the bathroom. And I still have no idea if the elevator works ;)
The location of this hotel s perfect for anyone wanting to discover Rome by foot. Close to the Pantheon, it's quiet location on a cobbled street means it is discreetly tucked away in the heart of the city.
I stayed @ the hotel with my husband & my 19 years old son& 10 years old daughter. The lobby&sitting area is v.stylish &safe for the kids. They liked the net facility in a quiet romantic area. The staff was nice. The rooms are clean .I was searching for a relaxing place & close to the action &the sites & i found it .Quiet &clean.I wished the rooms whre bigger & had more servises. But i liked it & i will do it again .It should be ranged as 4 stars. They should specify on the net the difference between each room in the same level because they are mixing all together.I checked a lot with the hotel to have what i want or what i saw in the web.
Location near torist centres for walking. Most things were good
Did not understand the concept of the "open closet" in a double room
location staff helpfulness free computer accessability breakfast staff were very courteous and pleasant always there to assist us would definately stay there again
dinning room is lovely
Very nice, clean, good air conditionning. Good value for money.
I got a better impression of the hotel from the website than what I was initially faced with. Hotel staff spoiled me though and showed me to a better room. Lovely staff, great location, small fairly comfortable room.
The staff was really helpful and kind. The breakfest was very good. We were three couples that had three different rooms. Our room was in the new part of the hotel, it was big and very nice. The location was perfect.
I enjoyed the deluxe room with a terrace and the central location of this hotel I think the services and the break fast could be improved
Location, location, location. Good stuff. Spectacular breakfast bar on the roof with a view of all Rome. Clean, nice. Interntet was not working. It was connecting, but not working. Spent fortune on international data before realized.
The location was really convenient for me – centrally located and a convenient walk to most of the attractions (even the Vatican or Colosseum are only about a 20 minute walk away) The included breakfast was decent and couldn't have been served in a better location than the rooftop garden with a good view of the city in most directions. The WiFi is an extra charge unless you book directly on their website and it was so slow and unreliable that it's not worth paying for. They had the classic signs of a hotel skimping on a professional installation: many different network names and while many of them reported excellent signal strength, the access points would usually reject connection attempts; after retrying enough times to connect the best speed I saw was about as fast as a 2G cellular connection and you'd be logged out a couple of times an hour. Until they hire a professional to fix their network, skip the frustration and go out and enjoy the city instead. Any cafe, bar, restaurant, etc. advertising free WiFi will give you something tasty for your money along with better service.
Great rooftop views of Rome
location was great but not what i expected. was
The hotel was very clean, up to date, and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating to everything we needed, and tried hard to make the stay a pleasant one. Breakfast was great- delicious with excellent espresso. The bed was comfy, room was air-conditioned and modernly renovated, and everything was very clean. The location was perfect for exploring all the sights we wanted to see in Rome- we walked almost everywhere!
The location was excellent. In the centre of Rome. Everything was in a walk distance. Also, the receptionists were very friendly and polite. The sound-proofing was poor.
Excellent location. Clean room. SKY tv. Only continental breakfast is serve. Small room. The gentleman who works in the evening shift could be more polite and friendly.
The staff was very friendly. The hotel is in the middle of Rome: short distance to all the attractions. Best location ever!
The modern bathroom and the brand of the toiletries. I also appreciated the flat screen TV and the safety deposit box in the room. The size of the room.
The discovery of the small hotel on the main street of the city was close to a miracle. It is such a change from so much more expensive and shabby hotels of the Termini Station area or fancy from outside and falling apart inside hotels like Hotel Piazza on the same street. The staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful, rooms clean and modern (albeit small for American - outside NY- standards, they have queen-size beds, while in most Italian hotel rooms you sleep in a bed in which you cannot turn, without falling down) with nice bathrooms. We loved the place!
It was convenient to good shopping, dining, sight seeing and transportation in the middle of Rome. The elevator was tiny, the doubles did not have twin beds as requested, the desk clerks did not speak English, the hallway lighting was poor.
The room was very comfortable and cleaned every day.Excllent location near to all the tourist attractions and resturants.Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was basic with very little choice, the lift was small and people with limited mobility may have dificulty as the stairs are narrow.Although newly refurbished the shower door would not close fully.
Great location, staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean and secure Wifi kept dropping out, elevator is very small
Great location, kind and helpful reception personnel, nice breakfast and very clean and cosy rooms. Serving the breakfast till 9.30 am is very early for the guests that are on vacation. Also the hotel has very small breakfast room so that you have to wait to find an unoccupied table. The entrance of the hotel was a little bit dissaponting and the hotel firm was not very obvious, but the building was under renovation so I believe that this image will change soon.
The location, very very close to the Spanish Steps It was the smallest room I've ever stayed in when travelling abroad-shoebox size literally. For that I paid 165 euros for a single room in early October which made me think that Romans have actually lost it when it comes down to money. It was the only place I could get fairly central 10 days advance to my meeting in Rome. Everything was much more expensive.
The location of this hotel is excellent...Have stayed in rome before and this was the best yet ! 5 min walk to trevi, pantheon and spanish steps.. underground station at Spanga was 5min walk away too.. Very safe area to walk around at night. Room was very stylish. Breakfast room small but served the purpose.
The room's were excellent and the staff very helpful, over all a very good experience I had reserved the room with balcony, but as we arrived they hotel the room was given out and though the room we received was great , it was not the one expected, No wireless internet service in the rooms and very expensive indeed, and finally the breakfast area and selection was very poor.
The hotel is well located for sight seeing (Vatican and Spanish Steps 15 mins walk respectively). We had a large room with 2 bathrooms which was very nice. 1. Room faced a wall and was dark. Could hear noise from other rooms. 2. Breakfast buffet was very limited - rolls and croissants out of a bag (good coffee though!) 3.
Good location, friendly staff, very comfortable bed - the junior suite was great. breakfast was not very good (apart from the coffee) - we arrived late around 10 and they had run out of bread! No english TV channels (CNN is not english). Watch out if you use the mini bar to store drinksd - if you move anything they try and charge you.
Leaving Rome! It is unbelievable that an international hotel would have mostly people who did not speak acceptable English. Very difficult to communicate with some. My daughter and I arrived at the hotel about 0900 after a transatlantic flight from Atlanta, Georgia on Oct. 1-yes, I know the checkin time was 1400. We thought after waiting in the lobby until 1400 we must have been getting a great room since we had to wait so long! Wrong!! We were assigned room 202 which was very small-way too small for two adults! We were changed to a better room the next day (room 306) which was fine. The remainder of our stay was fine. The unavailability of iron/ironing board. Even the cheapest motels in the USA have these items! The lack of vending machines/ice was shocking.
great location (keeping in mind that you need to walk in such a large city), very helpful staff, hotel offered more amenities than other places we've stayed in Italy
We had a spacious room not usually found in Rome hotels at this price. We did have the deluxe room (which is really not deluxe) but worth it for the comfort in size. The only down side is that the rooms were not equipped with the near luxury amenities I expected. While not spartan, they were not quite up to what I expected.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a week. The occasion was our honeymoon. The staff is excellent and they really catered to our needs. Our suite was well furnished and comfortable. They welcomed us with a bottle of excellent champagne and fresh fruit. They served a great breakfast every morning as well. They speak excellent English and are very informed on the best places to go in Rome. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Misc. fees were unexpected... We were charged for things you shouldn't be charged for AND are not usually charged for at other hotels. Expensive, but so is all of Europe. I also think that breakfast should be free.
Nice clean modern suite which was comfortable and quiet.
lovely room, very clean. staff were very helpful, great location price of drinks in the bar! 10 euros for one glass of whiskey!!
Comfort&location good location not to far from all main tourist attractions
Location was fantastic - couldn't have asked for better; service was excellent; room size was excellent considering hotel space in Rome is so limited; the jacussi was great after a long day sight seeing; I will definitely go back to Rome and stay at the Daniel's Hotel.
The staff at Daniel's Hotel are more than helpful and pleasant. This hotel has location, location, location if you want to shop or sightsee. My main purpose was Christmas shopping and I was in the heart of it all. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. No matter how i tried, I couldn't manage to prevent the shower from flooding the floor. The shower head was oddly positionee and the door ineffective. Other than that, my stay was perfect.
Friendly & welcoming staff, went out of their way to make our honeymoon stay extra special! Fantastic location for central Rome and all historic sites. Fresh flowers and fruit in room was a welcome touch. Would not hesitate to stay at Daniel's again & would recommend it strongly to others. No issues
The room was beautiful, everything we could ask for in a city hotel, the staff were helpful and thoughtful, the attention to detail was top of the range.
+ Great location + comfortable room + Jacuzzi was excellent refreshment after long walks + nice roof breakfast room - more channels on TV
It was perfect. I went with my daugther, and we spended 4 days fantastics. The personal was perfect, also the room. The brekfast, it was the same everyday. And not so fresch. But you have alot of coffebars and restaurants to choose betwen outside, so it doesn´t matter.
Quite ok - we got a very silent room
location and service Staff diid not to much about the city
Excellent location and pleasant reception of guests by staff. I have made reservation to stay again at this hotel in January 2011.
comfort and convenient, great hospitality
