It is located at a safe place. The price is good and the service is also satisfying.
The staff of this hotel was great--everyone was friendly and did all they could to ensure a pleasant stay. In particular, the woman with the short dark hair at reception was especially helpful and her perfect English was comforting (certainly my travel weary tourist Portuguese was a bit worse for wear after our long terrible flight!). Food was good too and the lobby bar was convenient and we loved our lovely waitress. The hotel is in really weird area. Lots of high rises and a lot of people who work in the high rises--a lot of wealth disparity. The beach is kind of skeevy--there was always some guy sleeping on the rocks. Its in the middle--between Rio Vermelho and Barra--but that doesnt mean it has the best of both. I'd choose one or the other. Don't be fooled by the photos--the pool's nice but it isnt a resort. It really needs a major renovation and it may have been going through one while we were there--it looked like lots of things were in the middle of being painted and the weather wasnt helping move things along. Also a staff member told me the fitness center was not open. It's not a bad place though--it's quiet and staff and food are great.
Its in a decent beach front location where you can walk in Barra neighborhood, and short taxi ride to Pelourinho. Views from the rooms are stunning. Breakfast was excellent. It's old and worn out....no wi-fi in rooms, just wired. You may not be able to close your door in the room, so wind will be blowing throughout the night. Bring earplugs, just in case...
Excellent value for money. The food is good (breakfast is a must!). The staff is very kind. Excellent hotel.
ocean view room/restaurant . Large size room. no free intesnet.staff can't speak english.
Pool, Courtesy of Staff, Security, Food Quality Would like some better oatmeal for breakfast
Vista Café da manhã , , as 9:40 não faziam questão de atender e falavam q já estava terminando o café da manhã , muito caro custo beneficio
The room was really good. Super comfortable and clean. The staff is great, a bit slow, but very polite, pacient and responsive. They provide towels for the pool and the beach. The location is not the best if the idea is to enjoy a nearby beach. The beach by the hotel is not good.
The helpfulness of the front desk staff and restaurant staff. The pool was in excellent condition.
Hotel swimming pool was out of use.
The location was the best part of the stay. The staff makes this a five star hotel, but the place needs a major facelift. No ambience at all. The breakfast area was dirty and the food was bad.
We only stayed overnight, arrived late, left early. Next time around we will stay longer, for sure.
Nice Pool, Location and Facilities Maid would take old towels and not replace. Front Desk translator got a pizza which I paid for through some questionable deal.
The atention at the recepcion, internet free, good breakfast, a very good gym. A better golf course, I never play a hole starting at the middle. But the caddy and the starter where very kind with me.
Hotel is quiet and relaxing with an excellent lunch buffet. Proximity to airport was the deciding factor. We had a late arrival and an early departure from Salvador. The common areas (lobby, bar etc.) were unnecessarily over air conditioned. When the external temperature is 23-25C with a sea breeze cooling to 18-20C was uncomfortable and unnecessary. While the location is convenient to the airport, reaching the primary business areas of the city can take an hour each way with traffic.
The bed and the shower golf course in very bad conditions...wouldn't call it a golf course at all !!
Nice htel at great value
size and comfort of bed; quality and diversity of breakfast could use a refurbishment, mostly because one can hear when other guests flush toilets or make noise.
Very expensive to use the computer for emails. It should be free!!!!
The room was recently renovated, confortable and clean. The breakfast was great. There was a huge variaty of fruits, salad, breads, juices ... The pool was also reasonably good. Internet connection was weak and not stable in the room. The minibar and the restaurant were overpriced.
The staff was friendly. The overall grounds were nice . The air quality in the room was poor. It smelled musty all the time despite turning on AC. Opening the window was a welcomed relief. In addition the room charge was done upon check in which was unusual.
everything especially the staff were very pleasant
We thought the rooms were lovely and the staff helpful and the breakfast excellent We wanted to use the sauna but it wasn't working unfortunately
nice room with view over sea terrible food. No choice inrestaurant for evening meal a la carte - only the grande buffet.
The rooms and the breakfast were good and the lobby was very good (spacious and well maintained). They had a viewing room for the World Cup games. The view of the beach was good. When I booked, the booking said Wifi was available everywhere and free. When I got there it wasn't free in the rooms (only in the lobby) but I was told that since I used Booking.com (via Kayak), it would be free. I had to go every night and have them give me access to wifi in the room (instead of providing it for my 5 days in one shot). They tried to charge me for it at the end of the stay but I didn't pay for it writing a note explaining that my booking confirmation stated it was for free. The location was not too safe at night.
I loved the view from our room and also the breakfast buffet had a good selection of various dishes and the staff working the breakfast buffet were all very pleasant. Housekeeping was not the best..when I walked on the floor with bare feet they picked up dirt..also one day we left the green light on to clean the room, returned some 12 hours later very tired and the room has not been cleaned. The explanation was that the cleaning staff saw the light and just thought it was red. Anyway, the room was cleaned somewhat about 10pm while we had to wait in the lobby. Please..even an apology and an offer or a drink while we had to wait!!
Perfect location and view Noisy (bad sound isolation between rooms)
Quite convenient location if you want a mix between a city break and beach holiday in Salvador. Clean and spacious rooms. Small but nice pool, gym and massage on offer. You can book a very good boat trip to the islands in Bahia bay in the hotel reception. This is a hotel mainly used by Brazilians, so not much English spoken. Staff not always helpful - we had booked 2 rooms but only 1 room was ready for us. Nearby beach is small and hard to access from hotel. If you want to eat/drink in the Pelourinho it tends to be a pricey taxi ride.
Very large room with modern furniture. Immaculately clean. No noise from the corridor or the street. a nice pool with a good view of the sea. Breakfast buffet had a wide choice and good quality. Many members of staff spoke no English or Spanish at all, even to the point of not even understanding a room number. Not really anything nearby, no beach, no restaurants and not even an atm.
Rooms were comfortable and the staff was very caring and helpful. Breakfast was the best part of the stay. Though I was on a non-smoking floor, one of the guests smoked continuously and the smell of his smoke was annoying. The hotel staff needs to enforce the non-smoking rules.
nice pool area/views, comfortable rooms the restaurant did not have a lot of atmoshere
Great ocean view, nice pool and good location just outside the citycenter. Poor english speaking of staff and they work slow
I really liked the excellent location on the beach and the very good breakfast.
quase tudo!! car garage isn't free!!!
New rooms and furnitures. Clean, confortable and wonderful view from de s. pool. The gym needs verter equipments for sure
The view, the swimming pool and the breakfast are the best! The hotel is very confortable and we love the stay. There is no barman at the pool, and we wanted to drink something and there was nobody... all the rest was great.
Location of the hotel was across from the beach in the Barra area. Would recommend the higher priced seaside room. Room was large and comfortable. Easy to get around by bus located in front of hotel. Beautiful sunsets from balcony. Restaurants within walking distance. We took advantage of the 12;00pm Shuttle to the airport. Nice to have wifi connection free of charge. Although we informed hotel twice of our pending late arrival, our reservation could not be found and we had to stay the first night in another room until our reserved room became available the next day. We did get a credit of the difference for the first night. We had to ask for our room to be made up when we returned after 4:00 pm the first day. The breakfast was marginal and be warned that there is a charge for use of the safe and for towels for pool.
The location on the beach and proximity to Pelourhini and marina restaurants. Bus stops and taxis nearby. No complaints.
Really helpful woman at the front desk and breakfast was decent.
We are very pleased with this hotel. It was clean, modern, the staff efficient and friendly, the food was very good, inclusive the room service. The location ist the best in Salvador. We will always remember our stay in Monte Pascoal Praia Hotel. Thank you so much!
Nice hotel with a great location across the street from the beach. The Barra neighborhood in which it is located is handy to both downtown and beaches further north with extensive bus service and readily available inexpensive cabs providing easy transportation if you choose not to take advantage of the beach promenade.
Cheerful, unpretentious, comfortable and clean.
Free internet, small swimming pool, sea view from the room, large flat TV, location near many restaurants and barra shopping mall. Fitness room isn't good (small, dark, bad air quality etc), Beach for swimming not suitable because of high waves and surfers.
Very clean and right on the beach in the Barra neighborhood. Within easy walking distance of lots of shops, restaurants, the mall and a supermarket. We had a spectacular view of the beach and the lighthouse from our balcony. Breakfast each morning had a ton of options and was delicious. Staff really went above and beyond for customer service - one of our bags never made it to our destination and was stuck in the São Paulo airport, and staff helped us call the airlines multiple times to figure out the situation. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Hotel has got 20 rooms so its a relatively small hotel which allows staff to pay full attention to the guests, I felt very special while staying at the hotel.
Very beautiful grounds and setting, well-maintained, artfully decorated. Kind staff that are eager to assist, and with a willingness to meet your requests. The service is fairly attentive, but not excellent. Sometimes they leave you waiting for them for too long, or you have to search around the main floor of the hotel to get someone to help you.
The excelent service of the staff, they are friendly and always willing to help; breakfast is great and lasts until 11am; the facilities are very good and the hotel as a whole is very stylish. Everything is perfect.
Very friendly staff, beautiful design (sometimes comfort suffers), good food (not outstanding). Inconvenient location, tiny swimming pool.
Excellent boutique hotel. Elegant contemporary design. Service 5/5. Food excellent. Well located.Price high. Lack of a gym.Room without a bath.
The best thing about Catussaba Resort hotel is about the location which is close to the beach, Good Breakfast, and the view. Customer service doesnt speak english. The rooms needs to be updated. Many people who had come for the conference had the same problem with their rooms. There was dirt all over the room, bathroom needs to be updated and cleaned. Loud noise during the weakend. Very far from the city and it costs about 40 to 50 $Reals.
the owner and how he handled things / the breakfast / the location slightly noise area on a saturday night
Loved loved this hotel. It was so beautiful and very artistic. The location is right in the center of old town. This has to be the best hotel in the old town. They paid a lot of attention to detail in the place. It also has a cute cafe and internet. The only negative thing has nothing to do with the hotel but the location. It is very dangerous at night and early morning. There are many drug dealers and prostitutes but they have police walking around all day to protect the tourist.
The staff was charming and solicitous. The location was perfect for exploring the rich Cultural Heritage of downtown Salvador. There were quite good restaurants nearby. The décor had a lot of local flavor, and a nice touch of Bahia's history. The room was comfortable and well-furnished, though not big. The breakfast was simple, but very good. If you are mainly interested on the beaches, the location might disappoint you. The hotel is also a restaurant, a café and an internet house, so sometimes you cannot find anybody at the reception desk. Two minor inconveniences: the bathroom door did not offer much privacy, and the room lock was slightly misaligned, making it difficult to close.
Inside the hotel the facility is attractively decorated, very elegant. The breakfast was delicious with the best coffee of our three week trip around Brazil. It was handy that an internet cafe was in the lobby of the hotel. Our room was small. The staff was not very conversant in English but we were not at all conversant in Portuguese..
I liked shopping and eating at the Pelourinho. The elevador Lacerda and Mercado Modelo are all walking distance too. Bus and taxi are a few steps away. There wasn't curtains in our bedroom, and it got sunny pretty early in the day.
In the city center, very convenient, very kind personnel
Very nice decorated and clean rooms in a very old but stylish building. The bar downstairs is nice as well.
Very good location in center of Salvador in Pelourinho, close to the harbour. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, specially the juices.
Wonderful personnel, very very friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautifully decorated in colonial style, the best we've seen on our 4-week trip across Brazil. Delicious and grand breakfast with self-made jam, many fruits, fresh fruit juices, eggs, delicious bread, etcetera etcetara. (the best breakfast we've had during our trip). Did not like the beggars, drugdealers and obtrusive sales people in the surrounding streets. There's no place for a quiet walk. That's a shame because Pelourinho is just wonderful. During daytime it's fairly save in the squares and streets where the tourists are (lots of police). When the night falls, it becomes very unpleasant and dangerous (less police).
The breakfast was fantastic with freshly squeesed fruit juice. We had to ask for eggs though but they were happy to oblidge. The bed and pillows very comfortable and a lovely bathroom with a wonderful shower head. No air-conditioning therefore very hot and noisey as we needed to leave the window open at night and no TV or safe. Also no hanging space for clothes. The reason I would not reccomend the hotel is no air-conditioning otherwise I would reccomend it.
Nice personnel. At the reception, most of them speak English. Internet computers free for use. Nice breakfast. The cheapest room was a bit small and ours had no balcony. We switched to the second cheapest for a few bucks more and it was much larger and much better.
We did not get the room we had paid for. I believe what we got was not even worth half what we paid for. There was no services provided at the beach by the hotel, and the water was full of sea weeds. I will never stay, or recommend this hotel. I am also very disappointed with Booking.com. This was our first experience with Booking.com and it was not a happy one.
the hotel is around 15 min. from the airport and close to the beach. wifi in alll rooms don't expect too much from the 'seaview'. the executive room is small but clean.
The staff were very friendly. Area was nice, right on the beach. Near the airport but historic centre little bit far away but taxi not too expensive.Only downside to my trip was i requested flowers and fruit to be at the room on arrival. They werent, they were brought up after we got to the room which ruined it a little bit. See above.
Close to the airport in Salvador but very far from the Salvador city. They have clean rooms with airco. and good breakfast. We stayed one night here in our way to an other destination in Brazil and wanted a hotel close to the airport. For the Salvador city you should have an other hotel closer. This one is at 45 minutes by bus of Salvador city center.
The bed was super comfortable and the young man at reception was very accomodating and professional as were the waiters in the restaurant. Very good and friendly service. the bed was huge, so the room was a bit small. Bathroom was a tight squeeze but shower was huge and was great!!!
Excellent hotel with great location, right in front of Itapua beach! It’s the perfect place to relax (there are two swimming pools!). The room is spacious and clean and has a beautiful ocean view. Breakfast is delicious (the restaurant also has an ocean view). The staff is friendly and speaks English.
Nice room with sea view. Good bed. I have been many many times in this hotel during many years. The computersystem seems not to know my name. A faster regeistration for people coming more often in the hotel could be a good service. It is a bit boaring to show every time all documents, even booked bij internet-booking.com
The hotel was pretty clean and the service was nice / kindly. Proper breakfast buffet and nice ambiente.Only the rooms towards the swimming pool have nice view. The furnitures in our room were nice arranged and quite new Due to safety reasons the fence was quite high and gave you a feeling of a prision, as well the rooms towards the swimming pool were somehow noisy since the main beach road is passing close.
Nice staff, clean rooms. Loud fan in bathroom, and loud refridgerator in kitchen.
Stunning building with stylish interior design. Decent restaurant with a a good maitre d'. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms a little dark.
A uniquely restored historic building that respects very well the original setting without missing a modern edge.
Beautiful hotel in the old centre of Salvador, with all the comfort you want. Nice outdoour area for lounging, good bar, nice swimming pool, all set in the beautiful garden of the old convent. The dinner at the restaurant was not that special as one should expect regarding the prices they charge for dinner.
The Convent is really nice Not the hotel but th city of Salvador is not in best conditions
