location and price no
It was right in the centre of Venice - great location with easy access to all other parts of the city. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. It had a great mini bar. There was no bar or restaurant- no where to sit and relax that wasn't in your room. The room was quite dark, with windows opening onto a noisy lane-way and building work.
the quality of the room, the central location and the helpful staff
Perfect location. Bathroom was spotlessly clean. Small room with no view - not what we thought we had booked. Breakfast could have had a wider selection. Interior beginning to look a bit tired, and we only had one pillow each. Still cant understand Italian reticence to use duvets rather than blankets.
There was nothing tol like about the hotel itself. The location was good. The hotel was not clean by any stretch of the imagination.Didnt like the dirt on the walls or the mould in our bathroom.
Location is good We were placed in what is called "the Annex" - never stay there - it is accessed by a dimly lit alley way filled with garbage - no evalators and no view whatsoever. The Hotel Rialto should be embarrassed to count this as part of their establishment.
Staff was very rude We had lot of luggage there was no one to help take the luggage through the stairs. Charged extra fee If 2 person stay in the room. Gave us 2 twin bed room.
friendly staff supply of gluten free food
staff were amazing
The staff is not customer service oriented. AC was not working and we were above 40C (110F). Couldn't sleep at all
What was there not to like; an excellent location, well appointed rooms complete with beautiful Murano glass chandeliers, polite staff who were multi-lingual with excellent communications skills. Hotel Rialto is an ideal location for exploring Venice. The hotel is central to all major tourism attractions as well as shopping, restaurants etc. Water buses and water taxis are readily accessible from right outside the front door, making the hotel particularly easy to find for first time visitors to the city. I'd highly recommend Hotel Rialto. One very minor gripe, but not enough to spoil an otherwise enjoyable weekend stay; visitors to the hotel are offered a complimentary visit to a glass factory on the island of Murano. Guests should be aware that there is no such thing as a free meal, or in this case a free trip. You will be expected to put your hand in your pocket and purchase some of the very expensive glass products. Having said that, the glass is spectacular and you may well want to make a purchase on its merit, just be advised that this is a hard sell. Expect to budget at least €200 though it would be easy to spend much more.
the junior suite was very tasteful with nice size bed and room on arrival we met someone at reception who was not very pleasant but the next morning we did not have to deal with him and the rest of the staff were lovely throughout out stay. The hotel does not have a great bar facility but the setting and the food in the restaurant on the canal was excellant and matched its 5 star rating. I would stay again as it is only getting on its feet with opened only four months.
The hotel is beautifull, and clean A bar to have a drink would be nice. The hotel is a little far away from St Marco.
Exceptionally beautiful building, gracious and low-key atmosphere of tasteful opulence.
The facilities were beautiful. I was disappointed that we could not receive a late check out after my running of the Venice Marathon. I was told that at 1pm there were no rooms availible for a quick shower.
The hotel is beautiful, like staying in a museum. Having breakfast surrounded by frescoes was a unique experience I asked the front desk to help me book a train to Florence the night prior to checking out. They told me that they could not do this for me, but not to worry as the trains don't sell out anyway. Unfortunately when we showed up at the train station, the train to Florence we needed was sold out ruining our plans for the afternoon. I stayed in two other hotels on this stay in Italy and in both the staff booked train tickets for me
Imaginative use of an old building, with beautiful public spaces and spacious bedrooms, first-rate facilities
i liked the design of the hotel the intenal and the external and the servies of the hotel its one of the best hotels
Excellent location and superb view on Grand canal from my room. The room number was 103. I would really recommend it. Breakfast was rather modest. Also as some reviewer already said the hotel lacks atmosphere. It is all too silent. Interente is bloody expensive but one can use Venice connected for EUR 5 a day.
Very easy access to transport both public and private
Beautiful building, location, and room Staff did not have a very helpful or accommodating attitude, we were surprised to find out, and we had several experiences of not feeling the service was good with front desk staff particularly. Orange juice at breakfast not included and charged 14 euros a day for 2 fresh orange juices.
Service was good Cost of mini bar and breakfast was not freshly cooked
Having a room that overlooked the canal allowed for the unique ability to observe the busy canal crossings and food market business from above. The room was very comfortable and sound-proof, and the hotel had an excellent placement for shops and sightseeing.
Official, serious atmosphere, but courteous reception, neat & very well dressed receptionists, and appropriate attire of other staff, well decorated entrance of the hotel; restaurant ambiance very good, chef very good food, staff friendly, elaborate choice in breakfast, rooms were very comfortable and spacious, luxurious bathroom & spa. Reception desk staff- could be more friendly and eager to help, should have spent more friendly time to orientate the guests, and take extra time to explain the facilities available--they had a more reserved attitude, didn't see openness. Could have more choices in the dinner menu.
views of venice and again very nice hotel and staff
The central location. Friendliness and efficiency of staff. Had to pay for use of tea and coffee bags in the room.
The Space and comfort of the rooms Breakfast could have been better
excellent room (although upgraded), very nice position, nice and helpful staff. Breakfast a bit modest, especially the coffee.
The standard of the hotel and its location suited us perfectly
Easy to find, good facilities, good price, breakfast is really good. Room is a little bit dark. No wifi in the room.
The Foscari Palace was a wonderful hotel right on the Grand Canal. We had a lovely room with complimentary water and fruit bowl and incredible breakfasts in the morning. The hotel staff were really friendly and on the Saturday night there was a free cocktail evening with drinks, nibbles and a harpist. There is a gondolar ferry stop right outside the hotel, so very easy and cheap to cross the canal. When we revisit Venice, we will always stay at the Foscari Palace, it really made our holiday very special. Not applicable
Location, cleanliness, breakfast variety, helpful and friendly staff
The hotel was central located, quiet and clean. Unfortunately this is not a four and a half star hotel!!! by neither standards! the rooms are not up to that standard, breakfast is not either, internet is poorly working; only the price is 4.5 stars; also using the pool in the garden is possible only for 5 euros per day...
The Hotel is very central and yet quiet. We enjoyed the breakfasts in the courtyard. We believe that the room we were in, which was on two levels, needs the stairs between the levels repairing. They creaked extremely loudly whenever we went up or down them.
Complimentary iced tea every afternoon for guests. Location very convenient to Rialto. No free wifi. Front desk staff were sometimes unfriendly.
it has good location, you can reach by water bus or taxi from airport, rooms are very small.... rooms very small and should have more vegetarian food options ....
The staff is fabulous - professional; gracious; welcoming; informative. The rooms are decorated in the true Venetian style. The location is charming - a quiet neighborhood; easy access to 2 vaporetto stops; easy to walk to most locations; and the excellent Osteria Giorgione restaurant [we ate there 3 out of our 4 night stay! We will likely be staying at the hotel, for all return visits.
Neighborhood and traditional Venetian decor and ambience. Access with luggage difficult and somewhat expensive.
The Hotel Giorgione was in a fantastic location to see the major sights in Venice. We arrived by water taxi - it may not be so convenient if you intend to arrive by public water bus. Breakfast was lovely - served in a lovely quiet and pretty courtyard. All in al,l we had a superb long weekend stay in Venice.
your wellcoming and friendly staff in general and Leila your receptionist in particular
Everything was clean and the service very good. The bed was upstairs, bathroom first floor; this is not very convenient specially durind the night.
Breakfast was great and the location was very good. The room was very small and the bathroom didn't have a shower curtain.
value for money
The internal breakfast area is wonderfull The rooms we´ve got were to small
location,friendly staff,nice room,good breakfast
An excellent hotel in a brilliant location
very difficult to find
Comfortable bed and bath room. Kind staffs. Good location. Enough breakfast. I enjoyed very much. Windows are not wide, so that a not well-lit room.
Excellent customer service & superb location. Hotel seamlessy blended both modern and classical fixtures & fittings. Some building work going on outside hotel and was sometimes noisy.
What we liked most about our stay was the ease with which we found the hotel, in fantastic walking distance of all the monuments we had mapped out for ourselves. The room was spacious, clean and lovely. We checked in early and the room was ready for us regardless. The staff were pleasant and professional.
We felt the hotel was well located but out of the crowded area and quiet. It was nice to come back to after sightseeing during the day. i felt the internet service could have been better.
It was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and had excellent 'in room' facilities and breakfast buffet.Great location in quiet back street, but close to everything you need. My only grumble would be that the air-conditining unit in my L-shaped single room was right by the door, and so completely ineffective. As a result it was very hot in the room.
Ideal position for seeing the sites but in a quiet non tourist area. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
staff, room and location Nothing
This was our last booking on a three week trip and it is off the beaten path which is nice as there are WAY less tourists than in other parts of Venice, but it is still close to everything. The staff was amazing and the breakfast and afternoon happy hour was a treat. Our room looked beautiful. While our room "looked" beautiful, it was anything but. The bed was possibly the least comfortable bed I have ever slept in and the pillows were like 2 inch foam. As is normal with old buildings in Venice, there is some settling but the floors in this room were drastically slanted. Everything smelled of mildew which some say is typical for Venice but this was my third trip in a variety of old hotels in Venice and I have never smelled that before. Additionally, each room (living room and bed room) had a variety of electrical control panels on the walls that were ridiculously confusing, especially when you just want to turn off a lamp.
location & friendly staff
The reception staff were very helpful and spoke excellent english. The restaurants the staff recommended were very good and they did the bookings which made life easier. The hotel location was ideal for getting around Venice either on foot or by vaparetto. A kettle in the room would have been appreciated.
evey things is good location, shopping, service nothings
Very plush for a European hotel, staff was friendly and helpful, great location.
Very good service. A well renovated interior.
Location Breakfast was too continental, a free choice of english breakfast would be a plus
Great location, helpful staff, lovely rooms and decor.I would defiitely use this Hotel again! The breakfast was adequate but not fantastic, and there were mosquitoes in our room in November be warned!
Everything... How dificult it is to find this hotel?? A lot...
Very personal service from the genuinely nice hotel staff - made our honeymoon even more special!
Above all rooms are big with excellent bathrooms No
Ideal location to explore Venice. Beautiful room. Very courteous staff.
The location was away from the crowds yet convenient to the Vaporetta and other sites. The staff was not very knowledgeable about the area.
Very nice , helpul and friendly staff. The location is very convenient and the service excellent. The rooms were clean and beautiful.
Should learn to be more friendly and not so rude. Unfriendly atmosphere.
Very clean , great breakfast
wonderful breakfast on the balcony overlooking the Grande Canale and drinks in the evening as the bar is always open and cosy. A lovely room and very clean. loved everything
Staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, very much a family atmosphere. Wonderful complimentry breakfast buffet, loads of food to choose from. Hotel accessible via water taxi and prime site right on grande canal. We will plan to stay at same hotel again next year, hopefully for two weeks, to spend more time on the grande canal and to tour more of italy, a beautiful and friendly place. The hotel also offered free water taxi to the Murano Glass factory and to San Marco Square. No elevators to upper floors. Must be able to go up and down several steep stairs. We had plenty of help getting our luggage up and down so we had no problems.
Quiet location, but easy access to main sights. Breakfast overlooking Grand Canal.
Location Steps. Some steps were loacated in the middle of the room.
Historic building, good breakfast selection - super breakfast room - get there early to snag one of the two tables on the canal front balcony. Front desk and breakfast room staff are friendly and responsive. Was upgraded for one night - nice to ahve a larger room but required a move the second night. I booked a single room - advise to get a double as although fully functional, the single rooms are tiny. My room did have a view over the side canal though and large windows in the sleeping and bath rooms!
Great location on Grand Canal. Suitably quiet neighborhood, even though close to almost everything you want to see in Venice. Friendly staff (offered the upgrade to bigger twin room for our teenagers at no cost).
Location was excellent. Day staff were very cordial and helpful, even upgraded my daughter and me to a suite. The night staff (front desk) was also doubling as a bartender in the bar. He was most unpleasant and made it clear that the five of us in the bar were a big inconvenience for him even though there was no activity on the front desk.
The location is perfect - sitting on the porch right on the Grande Canale with a drink after a long day's walking around in Venice is a treat. The room was large with enough space for a family of four. It is difficult to find when you first look for it.
Clean, comfortable room, with excellent location, and pleasant staff who were helpful in providing tips and suggestions for our first visit to venice.
Excellent surroundings beautiful furnishings ideal location value for money. Breakfast excellent. No bar staff!
The hotel was central, yet secluded. Perfect.
Our room (210) had two balconys over the Grand Canal, with superb views in all directions. The room is fabulous - tastefully modernised with many original features maintained, as the rest of the hotel was. A really indulgent way to see Venice. However, the staff were surly at breakfast, which was only average. In short, a superb building in a peerless location, with snooty staff.
Location on the Grand Canal and very close to a vaporetto stop is fabulous. We stayed in a junior suite, which was very roomy and faced the canal with a fabulous view. Double glazing kept out most the canal traffic noise which we rather liked anyway! I think other rooms face over a lovely garden area at the back which may be quieter. Terrific bar area downstairs which looks out towards the canal and there is a water taxi pick-up service at the hotel's own dock. Staff were very helpful and friendly. A great experience and we will certainly stay there again on our next visit to Venice.
This hotel is a recently renovated 16th century palazzo on the Grand Canal in Venice. Our room was quite small, but adequate and had a nice view of the Grand Canal. The bathrooms have bathtubs and are an nicely done and an adequate size. The hotel is 15 minutes by foot from St Mark's Square which we liked as it was somewhat away from the main tourist area. However, it was easy to go to St. Mark's by foot or boat. The entrance is somewhat hard to find the first time, and the rooms are quite small, but per above, still work.
the hotel was in a very good position, also very clean and well fitted bathrooms. the reason I would not return to this hotel is the very very poor service, reception staff screaming at someone down the phone while we were having a very pricey prosecco at the bar (no nibbles offered) never been anywhere in Italy and not had nibbles. Breakfast was a total shambles the lady serving just could not cope 6 rolls and 6 croissants on buffet at any one time where there were about 30 guests waiting for bread, when they came mine were frozen solid in the middle I complained as could not eat them but was told this is how they arrive so nothing can be done also reception said yes we know but did nothing so had to go without breakfast at least their coffee is good, when you stay in a 4 star you expect some service but this hotel had0
Well decorated rooms, great location. Requested extra bed, which was not available, so had to get extra room with full price but wasn't like the other rooms.
We appreciated a lot the friendliness of the staff, who were very helpful. We had a beautiful room, very big and comfortable, spotlessly clean, with a great view over Canale Grande. Careful: when we paid the bill at the reception, we were checked out, meaning when we returned to our room we could not enter it anymore, resp. inside all electricity is dead. This makes for a strange feeling - to be avoided. Suggestion for breakfast: it was a pity that only scrambled eggs could be served whereas we would have loved to have fried ones - which meant we did not have any during our stay. The dark bread (heated in the oven?) would fall inro 100 pieces when trying to cut it open. Freshly baked bread from bakery would have been a nice alternative.
The hotel building is old but inside was a mixture of old and new ( which we liked very much) also in a very good location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was smaller than we would have liked. At breakfast we would have liked a pot of coffee on our table and a menu to say what cooked items were on offer that day/everyday.
The views were amazing and the room was very comfortable
Nothing We did no receive booked Deluxe room. Our room was very poor, small and noisy. Staff said only "Sorry" and smiling. There is no any restaurant or cafe for dinner. Very expansive for their service.
Beautiful building in excellent, quiet location. Tasteful rooms. Friendly, felt like being a personal guest. Lovely courtyard garden.
The friendly service and comfortable surroundings.
Most welcoming, accommodating and helpful staff Beautiful rooms and decoration Enclosed garden with breakfast served outside and impressive waterfront access Air conditioning in bedroom room not really powerful enough to cope with the extreme temperatures in July August
Just great Price
Service straight from the heart by very attentive staff. Beautifully restored 16th century palace with lots of character Nothing at all
The staff were fantastic, very helpfull and friendly. The room was exactly what we expected. Will return there again on our next trip to Venice.
The building and the location are fantastic, one of the nicest buildings I have stayed in.
The hotel is quite exceptional, combining grandeur and intimacy; wonderful architecture, exceptional breakfast, very quiet and spacious rooms and an excellent location off the tourist track.
Everything, beautiful building, helpful staff, great breakfast. No.
Tha Palazzo is simply breathtaking, it truly is a palace. Very historical yet comfortable and inviting. Silvana met us as our water taxis landed with a huge welcoming smile and kindness. She is truly what made our stay so sensational... she is the essence of the Palazzo, we were wondering if she ever left, she was always available. That we eventually had to leave.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is in a nice quiet area, so it is a great place to relax after sight-seeing in crowded Venice! Our room was very clean and comfortable.
The quiet location was perfect with all the major attractions of Venice within easy reach. The staff were excellent from the welcome on arrival to booking a taxi for our final departure, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was first class and the ambience and quality of the hotel helped to make our stay, every thing we hoped for.
Our room was very small in fact claustrophobic. It certainly did not appear to be value for money!! Also there are very thin walls between each room. One morning we were awake very early because the people in the rooms next door were talking and it was possible to hear everything that they were saying!!
badly restored once beautiful palazzo. cheap furniture, small bathroom. poor breakfast, especially croassants. moody waitress. too expensive for what it is.
extremely poor breakfast, fried eggs were not fresh ((((
Very good breakfast, and there was a free use computer that enabled e-mail comms if needed 24 hrs / day. The staff were very helpful. It is in a quiet area but close enough for seeing the sites.
We thought the hotel was lovely, the staff were really pleasant and the location for us was great, close to everything but one street back meant no noise overnight. We were upgraded as it was a birthday celebration which was a really lovely touch no
The staff were very helpful and polite. Location excellent. Also very clean
Very good hotel. Nice staff, pleasant interior in Venetian style, clean rooms, quite good location. During our stay the air conditioner went out of work in our room, and the hotel was fully booked. They proposed to change the room only the second day, so the first night was very hot ((
The location is very good since you have in the middle of island and have access to everywhere you need to go, Staff were very friendly and supportive, very small and cozy lobby, excellent breakfast, fresh and clean. This was my first trip to Venice but i will choose the same hotel for sure. the mattresses needed to be changed in a short time.
great location.being able to sit outside on balcony overlooking grand canal shower not good enough for any room let alone superior room
Room was a lovely size and better in real life than appeared in the photos. Staff were friendly and pleasant. Location was fantastic and price very good considering this! Could have done with some music or tv in background during breakfast - very silent especially as we were often only people eating.
The view from the balcony was excellent and the bedroom one of the best we have ever stayed in.
It was better than being home. Incredibly sincere and friendly dialogue with hotel staff. Nice hospitality.
The owner was very helpful and had excellent restaurant recommendations! Our room had a wonderful view of Rialto bridge and the Grand Canal...with a balcony just steps outside our door. Thank you!!
The proximity to the center of Venezia
