I like the avalibiliy of the staff For a younger crowd in there 25-30 age it's not an appeasing hotel it's more for older crowd like 50-60 so for me being a pro Olympic athlete and being 23 yrs old I didn't enjoy it that much
the location room service food. the french soup was disgusting. There was also no glasses in the room. time it took to get the food valet parking took 15 mins to get our car
I liked that the hotel was near the water, close to a concert I was attending. I booked this hotel because they had balconies and it was near the water. The balcony was closed due to renovations. The bath tub was small , hotel was a little outdated. Not as special as a experience as I was hoping for

I can't begin to find words to express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Marina del Rey Ritz Carlton! We arrived on a Wednesday morning with a sick child. The staff immediately took charge helping to get us situated with a room and going so far above and beyond ensuring that our stay was enjoyable. From the person who greeted us to take our luggage, to the valet, to the front desk staff to the wait staff in the restaurant and the gift shop (which opened up for us to get us meds in the middle of the night) to the manager who followed up even after we had left their hotel, every layer was kind, attentive and fantastic! They honestly made us feel like we were at home with family who was concerned about us. What a fantastic experience! T
Staff is great, and generally a very nice hotel. Doesn't live up to our expectations based on previous experiences at other Ritz hotels. It feels tired, not as luxurious as others, and is starting to show some age without upkeep. A simple example would be the pool has cracked tiles and feels rundown.
Nice place, but not worth the Ritz premium. I would stay at the JW Marriott in Santa Monica next time I'm in the area.

Ambiance was great from the beachy/sea vibe in the lobby with the "flying" seagull sculptures hanging from the ceiling a wonderful scent machine in the lobby that makes you feel like you are at the beach. Very romantic setting at the outside bar complete with couches and fire pits. Beds were super comfortable. $30/day for valet parking is a bit steep when there is plenty of parking around the hotel. Give an option for people to park their own cars, even if you have to charge a fee.

My husband and I had a fabulous stay at the Marina del Rey Hotel. Our room had a amazing view of the marina, was very well appointed and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to that part of LA.
The remodel is first class. The front desk service was fine. The dining was terrible. Slow inattentive service, overdone steak, raw salmon, overpriced.

Super amazing beds! Breakfast is decent. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Climate control didn't work in room, I don't think it worked on the entire floor so be sure to ask about it when you check in. Hair dryer was from the 80's. Parking for $15 seemed excessive.
Called ahead to let them know I would arrive late. They said no problem. When I arrive they gave my room away and instead of 2 beds we got a bed and a pullout. Not OK. The first room they gave us had no water pressure so we had to move to another room. The front desk attendant had absolutely no remorse or empathy about the situation. Terrible service complete and total liars...

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE STAFF.....from our late check- in to shuttle arrival at LAX. Having limited knowledge of the vast local area, we chose this hotel because of the Wyndham name and its location to the airport. Each and every person of the staff treated us professionally, pleasantly and with a sense of real care regardless of the job description. Hats off to this team!
Room had a stale smell. AC cut off and on all night and was very loud.
the location and being close to the airport for an early morning flight The hotel. The dirty worn out wallpaper, the broken AC units, the bathtubs that don't drain durning a shower. The hotel smelled like old cigarettes and the carpet in my room was dirty with crumbs. The pillows are all lumpy and half the size of a standard pillow. We requested different pillows but we're given the same type of gross lumpy pillows.
I called hotel 3 times and shuttle never came at airport. I had to wait for 1 hr finally I took a cab to hotel DO NOT take this hotel if you want shuttle from airport.

The staff is friendly and the building itself was pretty quiet give its proximity to landing strips at LAX. The exercise facility is quite nice. The express breakfast is limited, but gives a few options. My room was not clean--and frankly wasn't ready when I checked in at 4:00 pm (no bath towels). Toilet didn't flush well. Water didn't drain well in shower.
Friday morning there was a breakfast buffet with egg and sausage patties, waffles (cook your own) , muffins, fruit, coffee, fresh fruit and various waffle toppings. There was instant oatmeal and dry cereal with milk as well. I'm sure I might have missed a few items, but I was very satisfied with the choices. Ample tables and chairs to accommodate everyone who choose to stay there. Bring a tray from the room if you want to take it to go (breakfast in bed?). Warm room. There were too few stations on tv and only one chair in the room, but I'm sure I could have gotten another one if I asked. Wifi was spotty on 6th floor. Parking fee of $15 was unexpected.
Clean room and convenient location. Nice common areas. Mostly friendly and helpful staff. The best price for the overpriced area. This location has under gone a half hearted renovation. The price doesn't match the quality. The layout of the property is odd and there are no rooms with good views. Some of the furniture is banged up. The water temperature is difficult to control in the sinks. Sewer gas smells would come from the bathroom drains at night. Lower levels can hear movement from upper levels.

It was charming, room and bed comfortable with a deck overlooking pool. Im fussy and i found it a pleasant experience quiet, clean and relaxing. Staff excellent and a short walk to beach, handy to shops and restaurants.
Smoke in the room from the vent. Pillows feels like straw filling. Bedding ok. It is not a Fairmont standard.

Room was comfortable and had nice amenities. Nickel and dimed to death. $7 to print out boarding passes in their business center. Forty dollars for breakfast. Thirty dollars for two drinks. Once I've paid for a nice hotel room, I like to think the hotel I've paid for is my home for the few nights I'm there. I felt like the Shore's mark. Can't even give me a cup of coffee? I won't be back. $8 bottle of water in the room. $35 towels mixed into the regular towels? I am not your huckleberry.
Everything was first class. Staff is the best, made my wife and I feel important. Could not do enough for us. Everyone checked to make sure our stay was first class. Need better pillows and lower parking rate for guests of the hotel.
June 15,2015 Could not get into our room until 4. Notified them we would arrive around 11 A.M. Hoped for noon or 1 P.M. room. Manager finally got involved. The rest of our stay was awesome. The staff is very friendly and excellent service. Stayed for four days. Wonderful location to beach and easy walking to shopping, farmer's markets etc. Wondered why with the remodel the bathrooms are small--one sink. T.C. on staff was the best!
Great location across the street from the Santa Monica Pier. LEED Gold building. Super high prices not at all justified by the experience. Stiff, unfriendly staff. Even after the very high room rates, there were no extras included. Virtually everything is a la carte extra cost -- from beach towels ($35/towel), parking (>$45/day), etc. The double queen room layout wasn't at all "family friendly". We loved Santa Monica, but didn't like the Shore Hotel at all.
Location and 1930's vibe. No lobby to speak of because it was undergoing renovation.
I've now stayed at The Georgian twice. It feels like a home away from home. I love it! The staff is courteous and kind. The accommodations were lovely. The all-day food service was very convenient (and delicious). The proximity to shops and restaurants, the beach and pier is impressively walk-able. And the view is incredible!
Staff was very friendly and helpful! Construction noise made sleeping difficult.

The hotel is very welcoming and and has an overall relaxed vibe. excellent location. it's very vintage in its deco look, but well maintained. you feel like you've stepped back in time. quite charming. and, the staff is very gracious without being intrusive. I actually have no negatives. my experience was ideal!

Had the charm of an old classic hotel, yet the rooms were fully updated and quite comfortable. Great small hotel feeling. Close to the pier, shopping, and dining options Just hate paying for parking, yet you are right in the middle of Santa Monica. Just an pet peeve, not a negative for the hotel.

The bed was unbelievably good.
Lobby and common areas are fine/good. Illy espresso maker in room is good. Free parking was nice and offered glass of sparkling wine on arrival. Stuck us in a room that was like a prison cell with a Queen bed. King room was paid for and others were open. Shower barely allowed me to turn around and did not have a ledge for soap/toiletries so had to leave those on the ground. Also right next to an elevator bank. Room was not exactly clean either, mainly in the bathroom. Absolutely unacceptable. Highly disappointed because it was not cheap.

The views were excellent. The towels and robes were excellent. The ambiance was nice. The bed was really comfortable, I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. The toiletries (soap, lotion) were insufficient, of inferior quality. The walls were paper thin, we could hear every conversation, every cough from next door and in the hallway, although we were on a starwood preferred guest floor.
The service desk was very helpful and generous. The hotel is in a good location and has a cool aesthetic. LM 100 smells awesome.
Did not lume anything. Lots of disssapointments First of all very very dirty hotel. Carpet not even vacuum and very dirty. Very small restroom. No minibar. The mezzanine restaurant closed at 10 and was very small. Waiters and valet parking guys nearly speaks English. Low cost employees and very unfriendly. Way too expensive hotel. Ugly expeirence.
Nice that they had free bikes available for use. Nice decor. Nice staff. Decent location, but not much within walking distance unless you are ok walking more than a half mile. Bikes are not available when it's dark out.

I was really impressed with the price of this hotel, the food was fantastic and the location was great.
The location, parking facility, good service including business assistance with computer, The room change with rate change was not recorded so I was overcharged and had to fix this at check out, this caused a delay and unnecessary hassle.
They did not have our reservation when we checked in; after calling twice to confirm. During those two calls, I was put on hold for thirty minutes the first time and eight minutes the second time..finally, they confirmed. Yet, upon arrival, they did not have our reservation and I had to check my confirmation email on my phone to prove it. No "sorry" gifts/amenities were given.
Everyone went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable.
The hotel decor was pretty sterile. The Viceroy across the street was much more esthetically pleasing. The pool was ok, not great. The coffee bar was under staffed and looked temporary. Good for location. Staff cheerful, but not what I expected.
lovely room but we upgraded and the pool are and roof top very nice. Our only concern were the staff who didnt really have a clue apart from the bell boy and valets. Wake up calls always 15 -30 mins late/fridge didnt get replenished unless we asked

The city was cleaning a parking garage opposite of the hotel during the night for two nights in a row, which was extremely noisy, therefore I checked out after two nights. I had a small room without a desk an therefore I think $300 per night was too much.

All the Art Deco features. Its a beautifully renovated hotel. We booked the Deluxe room because it was a bigger room & couldnt really fault it. The bathroom has a big bath tub in it & the room is full of Art Deco detail. Hotel staff were extremly friendly & helpful. Hotel is right across from the beach therefore great views. If you have time go up to the rooftop bar. Great views. No water provided in the rooms. Internet facilities for people that dont have a laptop arnt that convenient. Internet is only free for the first 15 min & then you need to pay. Only one computer available right in the lobby no no real privacy either, very distracting. The hotel room rates are a little pricy but we enjoyed our stay.

online it told me that the pool and bar would be open. Felt deceived!!! Bathroom door was broken, dirt in the bathtub, too much light in the AM, workers making lots of noise at 8am to fix pool area, bar on roof and pool not open even though it said it was online and that was the whole reason to go there. Took my boyfriend for 40th and highly disappointed. I was embarrassed!!!!!
Santa Monica is the best place to stay in LA for pleasure, and for business travelers with a little extra time for commute. The Shangri-La is the hippest, best place on the water. We've stayed at Shutters and Casa del Mar - eaten at Viceroy. Shangri La beats them all. authentic updated Art Deco, great size, pool, rooftop bar with view of the Santa Monica pier and beach. No question - the go-to place in LA . The New York Times Travel Section agrees. And this is not paid or sponsored - I am a real person - stayed with my daughter on her school break. Loved it! It didn't have the elegance - seemed cheesy w decor. We were sad it wAsnt on the beach for $650 a night. Dining room was not inviting - just a sad time overall but the beds were soft and linens were good.
The location is good - very close to the beach and restaurants Horrible customer service - they overcharged me for a number of items, including mini bar purchases that we didn't make, and then 'investigated' while we waited 20 minutes for them to tell us they had no receipts. They never apologized after essentially suggesting we were lying. They rented out the entire pool and outdoor area for a Lincoln car event so guests had zero access to the outdoor pool area, which was a main selling point of this hotel. The carpet in the hallways had duct tape in many places because it was old and ripped. When I initially called to tell them we were checking in late, I had to call back three times because they first transferred me to the wrong person, then put me directly into voicemail. When I finally spoke to reception to confirm they would hold our king bed high floor room, they said they don't guarantee a high floor, which is exactly what we paid for and I told them that was listed on my reservation. After arguing over it, they confirmed I would be on a high floor. Overall, customer service was lacking and you didn't feel at any time that you were a priority - more of an inconvenience for them actually. Not worth the price they charge and definitely not a relaxing experience.

It was close and convenient to my son who lives in Venice. Stayed there in Dec. in the newer rooms on the top floor which was much nicer than the room I had this time. Also, I think the 6th. floor room was about the same price as the room where I was this time.(5th floor) Yes, I opened the sliding door during the night for some fresh air. It was difficult to sleep because of the noise(homeless sleeping in the alley) that my room overlooked.
The tiny sign on the door entrance in the corner.. Stating that there were chemicals in the building from which you could get cancer from.. Was not clear when I book the hotel that the building is a health risk.
We stayed here with a couple friends for a birthday weekend celebration. Jesenia was really nice and calles us when we were able to check in early. The rooms were great. My cousin checked in early but didn't get the king bed she booked. So later she called Jeff and was able to get a better room. A suite! The rooftop lounge during the day was great. The bartenders was nice. At nighttime, the waitress we had was btichy. The lounge areas were nice but even for hotel fuests we had to reserve on opentable.com. the problem was we had a big group. They provide blankets so thats a plus but we didn't stay up there long. Lastly, Valet/parking was $32!
Miguel was fabulous and helped us in many ways, he went above and beyond. The entire staff was friendly and helpful The music on the roof did keep us up, and the ear plugs cost money

We were planning to have our short, informal ceremony on the beach and then enjoy the rooftop; but, our view was so amazing, we had our ceremony right on our patio deck! Also, when I mentioned to Billy that we were getting married that day, he sent a bottle of champagne to our room! Unbelievable guest service! We will recommend the Erwin to friends & family.

We loved the new and greatly designed rooms, as well as the young atmosphere of the hotel. The rooftop bar will take off - it is a great place. We will be back! The staff needs some more time together to make everything run smoothly. But they were always very nice and friendly - thanks for a great time with you!
Hotel Erwin is perfectly located on Venice beach, the staff is excellent, restaurant serves excellent breakfasts, nothing to complain about.
The closeness to the beach and water and how close we were to Venice beach all the interesting people and places we saw was just amazing can't wait to come again The only thing I didn't really like was the view from our room
The hotel is realy gret. Great staff, wonderful instalations..... So I really could live there. The price and the cost to park, once the garage is inside the building of the hotel.
