Good location
Self park was full had to valet and it was way over priced
Get low priority when booking on 3rd party sites
The location is great.
The parking was difficult and $62!!! I am from Washington DC and am used to paying a premium for things... I don’t think I see the value in going here if you need to park a car.
Old world wear and tear
It's a grand old hotel with lots of services and a friendly helpful staff.
The place is getting pretty worn out, which gives it a feeling a shabbiness.
It was all good! Great place!
Good For Light Business & Leisure Travel
The proximity to Grant Park is great!
Responsiveness to room requests were slow to non existent. I had to make three requests to have extra pillows delivered to my room (one request in person to the front desk staff, one to housekeeping, and one using the mobile app). I thought that was a bit excessive to get two extra pillows that I was told would be delivered the first time I walked down to the lobby and asked in person.
A beautiful place
If you are into architecture, this place will wow you. The intricacies of the interior decorations, the ornate massive stair case from the lobby to the second floor was something to behold. The rooms were a little tight but enough. Will definitely stay there again in my next trip to that city.
Nothing.
Good stay, coffee line too long
Staff, room, location.
Only one kiosk to get coffee in the morning. You need to fix this. There is no reason it should take 20 min to get a coffee and pastry in the morning.
Good room rate. Staff was very friendly.Very good location.
Very disappointed that we were not informed of the very expensive over night parking fee.
Location Location Location
Liked: - Location of the hotel, right on a Michigan Ave - Professional staff - Big and clean swimming pool Did Not like: - No laundromat facilities onsite (important for me with family of 5 and extended stay) - Outrageous rate of $56.00 parking rate for 12+ hours - Have to pay to use the exercise facilities
The staff was friendly and remembered me by name.
The room was much smaller than expected for the Hilton. Parking is OUTRAGEOUS!
Chicago's got it all!
A Very Walkable City with wonderful waterfront area and Great Food at Lou Malnati's and Gene & Georgetti. Museums, Aquarium, Planetarium, Soldier Field, Jazz Clubs and Great Restaurants...Everything is centrally located in and around Grant Park which is right across the street from the HILTON CHICAGO.
The bed pillows were AWFUL! mushy and no support. A minor point, that would NOT prevent me from staying there again. My biggest CON was the cost of parking $56/day (self park) or $70/day (valet), for the cost of the room it should be included. Also in-room WiFi is an additional charge, should also be included.
Loved the Luxurious Amenities this hotel offers. Our room was comfortable, cold, and dark. All we needed was a fan to soothe me to sleep and upon calling the front desk, they delivered a fan to our room.
Only negative I have is that our room had poor lighting. I'm a makeup artist so lighting is key for anyone to put on makeup, let alone a professional makeup artist like myself. Upgrade the lighting please!!
This is a truly grand hotel, staffed by very competent and friendly people. There were good restaurants and entertainment right in the hotel, and the location was great for family outings. Our family were all very happy with the facilities (especially the two bathrooms!) and we would definitely return to this hotel.
Excellent customer service. 1) I signed up for 5-day internet access on the room console but realized that my laptop wouldn't be online. I called the front desk to cancel it, then I signed up again from my laptop. I was skeptical that they would double charge but they didn't. It was refreshing to know that someone is doing a job right. 2) I called the front desk b/c it was late at night and the guests next door were very noisy. They sent the security right away and asked them to keep the noise down. And it worked - they became quiet!
The bed was a little too soft and the room was small.
The room was very clean.
I did not like having to pay for use of the internet.
We enjoyed our stay very much.
enjoyed our stay, liked the short distance to solider field, museums, and shopping. liked the restaurant choices as well.
high prices of beverages for the room and food was expensive.
Helpful staff, location...lake view
Upon arrival, I was told that the King room that I boooked was not available, I was offered a room with 2 dbl beds, I pressed the issue and was given a king room. The iron in the room was defective, the replacement iron required scissors in order to cut the restraint on the plug, the iron fiasco caused us to be late for our dinner reservations.
Clean, very comfortable beds, quiet room.
Parking is very expensive; $55/24 hours
The entrance and lobby were elegant, and location adjacent to Grant Park worked well for Museums and Taste of Chicago.
The rooms were tiny (not unexpected from an historic city hotel) and the decor was somewhat drab. The fixtures were of lower quality than expected. Cleanliness was an issue; there was a plastic bag with a coffee filter hanging from the door handle when we arrived, had a dirty ice bucket, and the soap dish in the shower wasn't cleaned. One final little irritation - the room door handles had a sharp feature along the upper edge that was annoying, even a little painful if you pulled hard on the handle. There was an in-room bar, but no fridge (I thought it was supposed to have) and the hours for pool access were too short. I also think charging extra to use their fitness room is just silly in this era. Serious updates needed!
