We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of three nights at the Stanhope. It was a convenient location for walking Brussels, and enhanced time there. The staff was great and accomodating of our needs. We loved our room which was spacious and nicely appointed. The only semi-negative thing I can say, is that the bed was quite soft, which was not good for someone with a bad back like me. Also, we asked to have some food heated up, and they said that they would send someone to take care of this for us. They forgot, and we had to call a second time.
The 'romantic package' secured us a very good room for two nights in a first class hotel for a good price. Breakfast was poorly organised and choice was very limited. The garden is lovely though.
Very fast and efficient check-in and check-out, room small but comfortable and well-equipped. Minor point : coffee-making facilities would be useful
Staff was not helpful, beds were old and not comfortable at all (had two rooms to try since the first one had brown water in the bathroom since it wasn't used for a long time).
the hotel room design is great,it provides a fantastic atmosphere of luxury
One can count on the quality of the staff.
very clean room bit costy
Close to EU Commission offices pillows too soft
Atmosphere was perfect. Nothing.
Hotel facilities detail has incorrect information. According to detail when I book room, Wifi is available with additional fee (6.95 per day). However not only wifi, internet connection (LAN) was need additional fee. If I've known LAN connection was not including room charge, I was not book this hotel. This is totally incorrect information. Hotel must disclose not just wifi, even LAN connection require additional cost. If this was on hotel detail, I NEVER HAVE BOOKED THIS HOTEL.
The interior decoration is very pleasant, rooms are quiet.
the location of the hotel and the view of my room! no free internet!
quiet room breakfast too expensive, staff not friendy
Room and location Hot breakfast was not hot.
Location, it's in the center. Internet service! It should be free of charge because I was there for my company and I had to pay using my own credit card. It should be included in the room invoice.
Relaxed atmosphere, helpful staff, spacious lounge area. Holding area for luggage after checkout until travel time.
The location of the hotel in a very agreable area of Brussels: antique market on Sunday morning and the Grand Place nearby, not to forget the chocolate shops! Everything was OK.
Location, just perfect in the nicest Sq. of Brussels, walking distance to al major attractions. Also fee internet which is very usefull
free internet access at the entrance floor no room shoe
Hotel has excellent location and the stay was pleasant in general. Only issue is the limited number of parking spaces. There should be a possibility to reserve parking space in advance - on the website, you say the hotel has parking space without specification about the very limited number thereof. In this part of Brussels, it is essential to have a possibility to park a park withou any problems.
Wonderful staff, absolutely helpful, made the stay very pleasant The air conditioning in the room was not working. I was lucky because it started to rain and the temperature cooled enough to be comfortable in the room. Everything else was very good.
Location was excellent, right next to the Metro, within walking distance of the art galleries. The room was extremely quiet. The breakfasts were substantial, with a good selection of hot and cold food and pastries. Bathroom was tiny and needed refurbishment. There was no plug in the sink, a hand held shower and no toilet roll holder. There was a broken mirror on a wardrobe door in the bedroom which had been 'made safe' with black tape.
I got a business suite room for the price of regular room, a result of good luck leaving the booking and planning of this trip until very late. I am not always this "lucky"..the Hotel Chambord, which I have passed by many times in Brussels but never really been tempted to enter, was a very pleasant surprise. A good quality 3 star in an area close to the EU - where there are far too many and too pricey 4-star hotels - is a great business concept. This is a winner.
The frendly staff, location, good, breakfast No smoking rooms, no music and sports channels , no Russian lenguade channels on TV,very bad coffee
A perfect choice. Great central location close to Magritte Museum, excellent quality (3 stars but practically higher), good price, very friendly service. I definitely recommend it!
€ 150,00 x night, heating after 1,5 days, no fridge, no safe, curtains torn, light bulbs broken, somehow rundown, contact with manager impossible, real pity, hotel has potential and friendly staff has somehow to cover up.
Handy location, helpful staff and good comfort for the money. Too warm in the room (and too noisy outside to keep windows open at night) and bathroom.
the room!!!! breakfast on Sunday was totally gone and not replaced after 9 a.m.
difficulty in check out with our credit card
I had money stolen from two purses in my room, there was no toilet paper, tissues or bath plug in the room, and shampoo was not renewed. On the last day but one I found a set of keys in the toilet bowl, which it seemed were master keys lost by a cleaner (and how they got there was never explained).
Leaving Breakfast staff were poor communicators: passenger lift was not working on arrival - no offer of assistance with luggage: breakfast crockery was dirty, chipped or cracked: breakfast cutlery was dirty
