fantastic hotel, very helpful and friendly staff, upgraded us to a junior suite which was very spacious, would not hesitate to visit again
The whole experience - the attentiveness of the staff, the comfort of the room and the location of the hotel. As it was a business trip I didn't have a chance to use the spa or eat in the restaurants (as we ate out) but will definitely be back.
Luxury environment, great music selection, very nice breakfast, great location
We liked the attention to detail and friendliness, helpfulness of the staff. Breakfast buffet was excellent.
They gave us probably the oldest room in the house. I stayed there 2 months ago and had a totally different room... Was because of booking via booking.com or because booking late? Who knows...
It offers so much inside that youeasily spend a weekend not leaving the hotel. There is a huge difference in the types of rooms available. the smallest rooms are really too small but are still well appointed. There was a significant amount of building work with associated noise.
Location, efficiency, friendly staff
The service, the sun terrace, pool and gym area, the situation in Munich, the brekfast The smelling of the room
The rooms were incredibly spacious and the service was excellent. The beds were a bit firm, and they were the weird Euro style -- two twin beds made a king. Other than that, it was wonderful!
Our rooms were in the new wing which is a fair walk from the lift with a number of confusing doors. Also the views from the rooms overlooking the courtyard were poor with some concrete constructions in front of the windows.
Location was fabulous. Hotel was clean, safe, quiet.
The location, staff and cleanliness were fantastic. The rooms were actually larger than I expected. Beds were too hard.....but it seems most Euro branded hotels are thus way.
Location was very convenient to Marien Platz, Hoffbrau Haus and city market. Staff was very courteous and helpful. The only complaint we had was not being able to lower the thermostat setting in our room.
location Suggest to travelers that they do not drive in Munich. We received excellent directions from the hotel and doorman made parking very easy, but Munich is not a city to drive in, even if it is only coming and going. Take public transport.
The quiet rooms, central location, and excellent breakfast. Reception was very helpful. Highly recommended.
The staff, breakfast & location
Everything was perfect ... literally . every staff member seemed to know my name . The room was outstanding. Big , clean and just the right temperature . No in house movies . Everything else was fantastic
The location was perfect, the breakfast was enough full and staff was very welcome and helpful. We enjoyed our staying there.
Great location - staff very helpful and curteous.
The location of the hotel and the competent and helpful staff in reception and lobby.
staff very cold towards guests, staff loudly fighting and arguing in front of guests, poor breakfast buffet offer, very high price for the service rendered
Very responsive. Not a thing.
The location was excellent! The noice was coming from outside surprisingly clearly.
The location was excellent. The room was very noisy, no tea/coffee facilities, no aircon, very very poor value for money - it was twice the price of the 2 other hotels that were four star that I stayed in, and half as nice!! Not a 4 star hotel if I compare it to others.
Great location, good size room and bathroom. Decent breakfast.
The location of the hotel was excellent. We were initally booked in for 2 nights and decided to stay another night. Once we parked our car we did not need it again until we checked out as we were able to walk everywhere. The staff were friendly and our room was clean and comfortable.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel is on a small side street within a short walk to the Marienplatz and Munich's famous Glockenspiel. We stayed one Saturday night in November, and while the hotel is located on a small, quiet side street, it shares that street with a bar. Now that the laws in Germany have changed and smoking is no longer allowed in bars and restaurants, people must go out onto the street to smoke. So the quiet street transforms into a loud, crowded extension of the bar from about 11:00 in the evening until 5:00 am the next morning.
Unbelievable location! Close to everything. Walk thru passageway to hofbrau house and other restaurants.
Central location, excellent breakfast selection, reliable service, old world charm. The front desk staff is distant rather than friendly, but they are efficient and get the job done, which is enough for me.
It was a clean room, and the staff was very nice.
Very nice hotel. Absence of the air conditioning made my stay not so comfortable, it was too hot in the room, what is not acceptable for such expensive hotel.
Good hotel, good breakfast
Staff were very helpful, and friendly. Hotel in a wonderful location for the old part of Munich. Not really a 4* Hotel, room standard a good 3*, breakfast buffet average and overpriced at 37 euros for two.
Liked the way the bathroom could be visually integrated into the sleeping area (glass wall) by opening the sliding door. Trendy cocktail bar. Super location close to Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt. Could have done without the strip joint opposite, which leads to late night traffic
The location was excellent. The rooms were very nice and clean. Breakfast was not included in the rate as with other hotels we stayed at.
Staff were very helpful and efficient. Decor and ambience excellent. Comfortable lobby and pleasant outdoor area. Needed more wardrobe and cupboard space for clothes and toiletries. Pillows very hard and uncomfortable.
The hotel is beautiful. lovely attention to detail. spacious, clean design, playful and elegant. Emiko restaurant tastes were delicious. The hotel is in an excellent spot to have a romantic walk through Munich center in the evening, or enjoying the sights and sounds of the Viktualienmarkt in the morning. The room was a bit chilly.
They recognised me from previous visit and upgraded me. Gorgeous design of room and facilities. Great location.
What we liked best about the Louis was our room, which was a very affordable room, and was still spacious and comfortable and stylish and it felt like we were staying in a really cozy, upscale bedroom - it did not feel like a hotel room. Oh and the hotel smells amazingly good. The only thing I would change about the room is, we would have appreciated a tea/coffee bar to prepare our own hot drinks; this is a feature we use all the time in hotels, when available. That is the only thing I consider lacking in the room.
Location, the room and staff
Decor was elegant and unusual e.g. recessed closet space. Room (courtyard-facing) was very quiet despite very central city location. Maybe it's louder in summer? There was a restaurant on the terrace directly below. Breakfast tasted absolutely terrific - ingredients all bought fresh at amazing farmer's market across the street. Staff at desk, in restaurant were friendly, cheerful and eager to help. Upon my request, they instantly replaced the "desk stool" with a chair with a back. Stylish and pleasant lobby encouraged a convivial atmosphere. Daily shoe polish service, daily newspaper were nice amenities. Wireless (included in rate) worked flawlessly. Excellent shower an Platform bed was a little bit uncomfortable.
My 16 year old daughter and I loved Hotel Blauer Bock. The beds were super comfortable, the room charming and clean, and the breakfast was superb. A perfect introduction to Europe for my daughter. Also the front desk staff were extraordinary helpful with helping us navigate the train schedules and directions.
The location was perfect - not in the center of tourists but within a couple of blocks with restaurant choice nearby. Could leave luggage at hotel until room was ready. Breakfast was excellent and convenient. The heat was an adjustment but like most places in Munich and Germany there was no air conditioning although the hotel did have fans available for the asking.
Loved the location. Easy access to the Marienplatz shopping street/Metro station.
Location, staff, comfort
Convenient location, comfortable, clean, excellent service, very good breakfast buffet, worth the price, able to skip lunch, more time to do other things. Did not find anything to dislike.
The Location close to shopping area
The Mercure Hotel Munchen Altstadt is ideally located for the city centre with quick and easy access to both the S-Bahn and underground rail lines. There is a direct train from the airport to Marienplatz (S1 or S8) which takes approx. 38 - 48 minutes, the hotel is then just a few minutes walk. A welcome supply of water, apple juice and coke were provided free of charge in the room. Breakfast, if not included in the room rate is expensive but there are plenty of local cafes to choose from as an alternative!
Room and Bathroom were new and modern (very clean) Location to the main square and attractions were unbeatable. Internet was 5euro for 15mins of use...huge ripoff.
The kindness of the staff and the cleanliness of the room.
The breakfast was excellent. Overall the hotel was very good value and an excellent location.
Location, breakfast staff
I like the hotel location and breakfast very much:)Cofee was very good:)The conditioning system worked good.
Very good breakfast, fast free internet access, clean rooms, silence :-)
the staffs are very helpful, And left my luggage for a few days while away from Munich, and it's free of charges. Location is excellent!!!
The breakfast buffet was very good and the location is one of the best in Munich if you want to stay near the Marienplatz As other have mentioned in their reviews the standard single room is extremely small, but taking into consideration the great location and the breakfast, it is still a very good deal. I was in Munich to see the city not my hotel room.
Breakfast was very good, great selection. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location - central yet quiet at the same time. Bathrooms were too small, elbows kept bumping into walls.
I stayed in this hotel already three times and I am not going to change it. Staff is very helpful and friendly, especially Herr Markakis at the reception. Good value for money, excellent location, quite good breakfast with (!) fresh pressed orange juice. It possible to have a water boiler in the room if you like to drink tea in the room. Atmosphere in this hotel is very friendly, I never feel that I am just in the hotel. Your impression may depend on the room you have. Rooms facing the street are not so quiet, but have airconditions. Rooms facing inner yard are quiet, but without airconditions (you can open a window, it's very quiet). All in all, very nice and friendly place for this money.
Very clean rooms, excellent gourmet breakfast my room had no airconditioning, so the windows have to be kept open on hot nights, can be a problem if facing the street, which is noisy with traffic and people at night.
Excellent location and the breakfast was the best I had during my trip to Germany. The room was really small. One side of the king-sized bed was up against the wall, so the person sleeping on that side could not get out easily. I would not stay at this hotel for more than an overnight because there is just not that much room for your bags and we felt very cramped.
Location was amazing... The breakfast wasn't good.
Nice hotel and good location.
A nice variety of breakfast items served in a beautiful breakfast room. The location could not have been better. Only one block from the Hofbrauhaus and other beer halls and restaurants. The bed was very comfortable and the heating was good. The room was very small. The shower was small. There is late night street noise at the front of the hotel.
The location is great -- very close to the pedestrian zone in Munich but away from the train station and the very center of action. This is a bbudget hotel with few frills, but it's ideal for those wanting to explore the city on a budget. This hotel was an excellent find. Unbelievable value for money.
Very good location - just 2 minutes from Marienplatz. At the same time it's quiet. Good breakfast.
very good location, near centre. there was no breakfast buffet, very poor breakfast.
location clean slow breakfast
The location of the hotel to allactivities. The knoledge of taxi drivers as to the location of hotel.; Not negative to the hotel
Best location. A block away from the Hofbrau House and Marienplatz. Completely safe, even at night. Staff is friendly and there is a nice biergarten directly outside the hotel. It is a simple hotel room, but nice. I will stay here the next time I am in Munich for both the rate and location.
Location, clean, small. Room was not meeting my normal requirements, small and two separate beds.
being in the heart of Munich
Fantstic location Room very hot
Location cannot be better. Everything is right there. Took the S bahn S 8 from the airport.easy.about 12. € pp. About 38 minutes. Comes out right in marienplatz.just a short 5 min walk to hotel. All cobblestones....not easy on your luggage Wheels. Dozens of hreat restaurants just one minute from hotel. Loved J.W. in the ally.. Great food, nice helpful staff n english menus and fab strudel and really fun staff right across entrance to.hotel.hofbrahaus is just a block and a half.away and bei g in the victualienmarkt fab food stalls all.around the hotel. Pleasant helpful english speaki g staff....breakfast expensive 12.50€...skip it and go tomarket .
The location of this hotel was excellent - very close to all the major sights in Munich we wanted to see during our stay, so we were able to walk to everything.
Located halfway between town hall and haufbrahaus. Walked from Mariensplatz to hotel with 2 daughters. Tons of restaurants and shopping within a 5 minute walk. Bar/restaurant was great - loved the breakfasts. Drink menu was very innovative and fresh. Surprising in a very good way. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Great stay!! Bathroom was very small for 3 people. Shower ok for women/girls but would be challenging for a full size man. No counter space around sink.
great location close to everything! The staff at the hotel is amazing. Love the bar downstairs. Wish they had an elevator - for travelers like me that don't pack light.
They had THE best bartender I have ever encountered. Thanks Oliver! The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was great. The room was clean and modern, not to mention located perfectly in the heart of downtown. If and when I return to Munich, Hotel Lux is my #1 choice hands down. Thanks to everyone at Hotel Lux for making my stay an unforgettable one! No complaints. Extremely pleased with my stay.
It was close to the downtown area so we didn't have far to walk. No Air conditioning. A very small hot stuffy room. If you open the window you get a lot of street noise until very late at night. Economy furnishings. They didn't have a fan. Lights in hall were partially disassembled. There is no elevator.
Location is very central /wealking distance to all tourist & shopping sites. Breakfast is excellent. No elevator. Pillow is very/too flat.
Perfect central location, spotless room, reliable (free) wireless internet and yummy breakfast included in price. Even with the heating on full blast, the room was unacceptably cold in October. And the noise from the neighbouring nightclub was deafening on Friday night from 2am to dawn.
Very central location, breakfast was quite good as was the coffee. Room quality was just ok. Tiny room. We travelled from Australia around Europe and with the 2 of us and our 2 suitcases we had nowhere to move.
Room is clean and comfortable, though small. Convenient bathroom. Good breakfast. Poor sound isolation from other rooms and corridor. Noisy environment - lots of people on the street at night, not possible to keep window open (price for central location!). Internet connection could be improved. Old TV, did not work.
Walking distance from city center, WiFi, friendly and personal atmosphere Missng fork during the breakfast :-)
Bedroom - clean modern cosy
This is the second time I have stayed here. Very good value, located close to downtown, nice breakfast. A very good place to stay in Munich. I love the free wifi.
the position is perfect for visiting the city the car parking is not inside the hotel, it is quite far away considering that it must walk with the baggages for few minutes
Free internet, clean, good location, easy They could be a bot more flexible with everything aond breakfast. Yes it is Germany and if breakfast stops at 10.00 it stops not one minute late....but a bit of customer service could do ;-)
Excellent location with friendly staff
