This is a beautiful hotel. What we liked most was it's location - very central - walk out the door and you are right where you want to be!! I can not think of anything that we didn't like about the hotel.
location bathroom of the room was old and cold, not at the level of a 4 star
The bubble bath was a welcome delight. The room decor was awesome! The basket of fruit was delicious. We just loved every mininute! The stay helped make our 25th wedding anniversary wonderful. Had difficulty illiminating the light fixtures in the sitting room. The light switch did not function properly. Had to ask the front desk for assistance.
They offer the best breakfast buffet in the morning, excellent selection of eggs, rolls, pastries, fruits, cheeses, cereal etc and hot american coffee. The breakfast room is nicely decorated and service prompt and friendly. A great way to start your day. The rooms are very clean, bar/lounge area looks newly decorated and a nice place to enjoy an evening cocktail. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Great Location near the Duamo accompanied by good rooms and helpful staff
It was no rain, thanks.
The location is ideal The beds were very uncomfortable.
Staff were accommodating. They initially offered us a room with a view of the inside of the building (I would not call it a courtyard) and down many halls away from everything. When we requested another they gave us one on the 5th floor, street side with a bath tub. I did request these amenities beforehand, however, they tried to give us a substandard room. Is this because we booked through Booking.com?Need to be persistent. Location can't be beat. Hotel is beautiful.
Hotel's position in the historical centre of Florence
Location was excellent. walked everywhere & many great restaurants & wine bars nearby. Staff was very accomodating & friendly Price was high but quality matched the price
Beautiful authentic Italian and very freindly helpful staff. Only downside was the room was boiling hot and there was no option to turn off the heating or turn it down, you could not have air conditioning in the winter even though the weather was really mild. When we opened the windows we got bitten by mosquitos.
The staff at Helvetia Bristol could not have been warmer and more accommodating during my four night stay. Their warm welcomes and spot-on suggestions were greatly appreciated. I love this hotel and will definitely return. It is a historic boutique hotel (don't expect large rooms). The location cannot be beat in central Florence. The rooms are small and in need of a little love (new carpet).
The location is perfect. 10-15 minute walk to everything, but quiet location. Service like one does not find anymore. Worth the money.
Center of the beautiful city, nice small hotel, not very cheap, but wort to stay in it. If you come by car, ask taxi driver to go there and follow him, Almost imposible to find tha way on your own. Valet parking closed until 7 am. I had my flight earlier. Hotel helped me to deliver car to Avis and sent my belongings from car to me, but generally it is not acceptable.
Friendly staff, great room
excellent concierge and service
Service impeccable; centrally located for everything including museums, shopping, restaurants, train station; cleanliness and decor wonderful; will stay there again
I enjoyed the beautifully appointed room, the large bathroom and excellent shower. The staff was exceptionally helpful and went out of their way to recommend places to visit or for dinner reservations. Food at the hotel was also very good. I do not have one bad thing to say about this hotel. Would definitely go back and would recommend to a friend.
Nice hotel, great staff AC not working - resulted in open window - resulted in about 15 mosquito bites!!!
Cappuccino. Staff was understanding. The rooms next to the street are noisy because of the late night bars and at this time of year you can't have AC in the rooms because one system works the entire building. If you are hot or uncomfortable you have to open a window which just lets the noise in. Street cleaners, and trash service comes by at 5am which is nuts! Breakfast was blah...Single room was a closet and horrible shower. Im in shape and didn't fit in the shower.
Staff and location Breakfast buffet and some rooms noisy
Attractive and very central We thought the 50euros charge for parking was astronomical!!!!
the welcome and efficiency of the staff and also the quality of the breakfast. a special mention for the sophisticated spa and treatments. The room was very comfortable and wel equipted. the lounge is welcoming. the lighting in the beautiful bathroom was deficient but I understand this will change soon.
Nice location, nice property Be sure not to stay in a standard room, when you pay for a deluxe room. Booking.com classifies the rooms by size, but the hotel receptionist said, size does not matter, it is the services included (spa, mini bar). The receptionist also refused to change the reservation to standard room, as it was made trough booking.com. I took us 15 minutes and some nerves to get the room we paid for as advertised on booking.com.
It was a very beautiful hotel with an excellent staff and it was in an excellent location. We liked everything about the hotel.
wonderful breakfast with fresh juice, home-made bread and delicious fruit very central to the city nice staff nice room no
Excellent location. Walking distance to all the main attractions of Florence. Quiet neighborhood inside the busy town center. Room service expensive for what it was.
The hotel is very well located within few blocks to major attractions and "centro storico". Be careful with the shower in the restroom because it is a step down from the floor and you can easily fell down.
SPA (small but nice) and massages. I am Italian and found breakfast delicious (cappuccino) Room's temperature was too low when we first entered (18°)
the hotel is absolutly great specially its near by the river & the shopping area..the staff were amazingly adorable and helpful ...i remeber "marco" he was great and all the other but i cant recall there names now..last day i needed a late check out ..they provide it free freee freee with a wide smile...u must see this amazing beutiful castle i wished i could stayed more
this one is a brand new one only opened in May 2009. The room is spacious and is very clean, with a spacious marble bathroom. It is small and cozy. I will go back if I visit Florence again.
Very elegant, located in a perfect spot in Florence's luxury shopping area and also very close to city's center and monuments, clean rooms and good service by staff.
excellent friendly staff provided great service
I liked every thing in the hotel. Some of the staff at the frontdesk are not friendly. Don't take the breakfast it cost around €30, eat out there are lot's of places to eat in around you.
Best location Location and the room
hotel's placement is perfect. hotel was good .
Professional service, exceptionally resourceful/helpful Concierge Internet service very slow, no wireless
Beautiful modern rooms. We got two interconnecting rooms and they were very spacious. Hotel within walking distance to all the shops..
location was amazing. it is on piazza del republica, walking distance to almost everywhere. that the internet connection and breakfast were not free. i understand that hotels charge for breakfast but seriously which hotel in the world today still charges 20 euro per day for internet. internet is everywhere and it should be given to clients free.
The location was excellent the service was good and the rooms were small but high tec
Excellent location close to all attractions. Very spacious. Well designed luxury rooms with attentive staff. Breafast could be slightly better quality given price. Internet wi-fi was spotty.
nice to see so many nice drawings on the wall, lots of books provided, plenty spacing, the design of whole room & all the details of the room are very nice & luxury e.g. cashmere blanket, staffs are helpful the wifi internet is super slow, there're no body lotion provided, the shampoo & bath form are not gd quality,
Luxury and elegant comfort in a sophisticated setting. Perfect location for seeing all the sights. Knowledgeable and helpful with all requests. Hotel combines the modern and ancient with great respect and charm. Looking forward to staying there again and again. It was perfect, no issues.
Beautiful room and excellent staff. Wonderful roof terrace.
The room was spacious, very well presented and comfortable. As the hotel has been open only since January 2009 everything is virtually brand new! The staff were all extremely helpful. The location of the hotel close to the Piazza della Repubblica couldn't be more convenient for exploring the city. My only caveat is that the breakfast menu could have been a little more extensive, but the quality was good. I would certainly recommend this hotel, which is good value for the price.
Room, Location, Surroundings, Staff
The location was ideal, The staff was warm and welcoming. They were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and available at all times. The decor was fantastic, contemporary yet cozy. The breakfast was fantastic. There were quite a few tiny bugs in the room and common areas.
The staff is amazing and very caring. From Leonardo who created us as we walked into this charming 12 room hotel to Thomas who took care of us during breakfast, to the concierge who took care of our travel needs. The hotel rooms are charming, spacious, and have good sized bathroom and kitchenette which was great. Only two things stopped me from giving this place a 5 star rating: 1. The hotel at night has a oder in the rooms. They try to mask it with the glade / vapor sprays on the floor but it does not do the trick and can smell like a wet clothes. 2. My pet pieve, no iron and on the weekends no other option to iron. It is an Italian law supposedly but I stay at a Westin and Hilton in Italy which both provided me with an iron and ironing board
The rooms were super nice, spacious and elegant. The staff was extremely nice, accomodating and personal. N/A
This hotel is amazing! The location is perfect, as it is only a couple of minutes walk to the Duomo. The staff were super friendly. Our room and bathroom was clean and very modern (i.e. glass showers). The breakfast included a huge variety of foods (bacon, eggs etc) and there is a rooftop terrasse where you can eat breakfast or share a bottle of wine watching the sunset with an amazing view of Florence!! I definitely recommend this hotel!
Great locations, very good staff. Weak Internet signal (53%), which the Hotel believes is normal.
Great location! Walking distance to all major attractions. Room was very spacious - with living area + bedroom. Rooftop terrace had an awesome view of the city. Large selection for breakfast. Although the rest of the bathroom was very clean, the shower had mold around the edges.
Convenience to the tourist areas in Florence Access to wireless internet was only from the lobby area
Great location. Very attentive staff. Good breakfast. Great view from the roof. Noise in the streets at night
Good location, nice rooms, friendly service bad sound proofing
Staff was exceptional- very friendly and willing to help! Hotel is in a good location and still very quiet! I felt very pampered
The desk staff were exceptionally helpful, especially Mirko. More regular (non decaf) coffee in the rooms would be nice No all day cafe or restaurant, drinks very very expensive compared to elswwhere, breakfast expensive too.
The room was good (although no view) The hotel lacked services which I would have expected from a hotel charging this much (eg room service).
I am well travelled and I will honestly say that your hotel staff was one of the best! They were all so friendly and helpful. I stayed one night, then returned on my flight out because the service was that good. I'll definitely be back and would recommend your fabulous place! My first room only had 1 outlet in the bathroom.
The Grand Hotel Cavour was in a great location to walk to the Duomo, Uffizi, Piazza Republica and many other attractions. The staff was the friendliest and most helpful I have ever seen. The breakfast is included and had something for any appitite including cappucino and expresso! Loved it there! The showers are a bit tight, the lighting was very low in the bathroom and the toilet paper was given out very sparingly. We bought our own.
The reception staff The room it self
The location was in the heart of Florence. The bathroom was small and got crowded when getting ready to go out in the morning.
Situation is ideal. Breakfast tasty but very badly organised.
The position of the hotel is excellent, you can go out shopping, sightseeing and come back drop things off and go out again.
Excellent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Superb central location.
Central location ideal for a short stay - you can walk to see most sights n/a
Best location in the centre of Florence. Literally 2 minutes from Piazza delle Signorie, the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and Piazza della Republica. Coin department store is next door and La Reniscente one block away. Mattress too soft.
-Delicious breakfasts -Friendly staff that were incredibly helpful and kind -Very clean in the hotel -There was no way to control the temperature in the room. -Some musty smells -Recommended tourist-y restaurants -Toilet did not flush
That it was in the heart of the city
Location! Couldn't be a better spot in Florence.
location no view. room too small
Excellent location. Great views. Worth paying a little extra for an upgraded spacious room.
Hotel Balestri is conveniently located, very close to Uffizi Galleries, Ponte Vecchie, Museo Galileo, and many other attractions. It was very clean and the front desk staff were very helpful and attentive. The hotel doesn't have a bar, per se, but will serve customers from a limited alcohol menu.
Staff were excellent - helpful, and charming. Location was superb, right next to the Uffizi gallery, and on the banks of the river. I liked the charm of the foyer area and the no-nonsense but well appointed facilites. I would definitely use the hotel again. A little more attention to lighting in the room (bulb not replaced, for example), plus non-slip shower flooring would reassure.
Lovely hotel with helpful staff, catered to a more mature clientile
The hotel's location is excellent. You can walk to most of the popular tourist attractions. The breakfast was good and the breakfast room was pleasant. The only thing unpleasant, was the room freshner smell. Opening the windows helped temporarily.
Lovely hotel, great location, very helpful staff, great breakfast room small by US standards, probably average for European hotels
The view from the room balcony over the river was breath-taking. Great location for site seeing.
The staff was always extremely helpful and fluent in several languages; the location on the Arno River just steps from the Ponte Vecchio was unbeatable; and the wonderful complimentary breakfast buffet every morning started my days off well. I can't wait to go back!
the staff was very helpful and pleasant and very attentive to your requests. Breakfast was very good. European style, but very good. We had a room with a river view and the view was beautiful. The room was quiet for sleeping and yet just a short distance away, there was much activity, nice restaurants and in the evening, near the Uffici and the Piazza Senioria (not sure of spelling) there was always a young musician playing music. It was very romantic. No, my experience was very positive.
The hotel is lovely, large, well appointed rooms with a nice bathroom. The location is great, right on the Arno. It is a great value, and more of a 4 star than a 3 star hotel. Highly recommended. It would be nice if they included boiled eggs with breakfast rather than charging for them.
It is good located in sightseeing.
The amazingly friendly and helpful staff. There was nothing to dislike
design, room, location, breakfast and every thing. Also I got upgrade and a bigger room. nothing
Its nearness to all the important sights of Pisa. Not much.
The breakfast was excellent! The bathroom was poorly designed and getting out of the bathtub was downright dangerous! The bathtub was slippery and tall.
The hotel is beautiful. Great location. Cosy. It reflects Florence at its best. The staff was great, friendly, helpful, knowledgable about the area, restaurants, shows. We had a great time. Our only complaint is Florence is a noisy city at night and that requieres windows that are soundproof. If they change this, its a 5 star for us.
Great location, friendly reception staff and clean comofortable rooms Breakfast bufet was dismantled while we were still eating
Great Location, the price was deffinatly worth it concidering it is very central to everything.
The position of this is hotel must be one of the best in the whole of Florence it is so close to everything there is to see. As soon as you walk out of the door you are there. 10 steps and you are on the Ponte Vecchio a 2 minute walk to the Pitti Palace a 5 minute walk to the Uffizi (which we didnt go in as the queue waiting to go in was ridiculous if you seriously want to go book it before you travel) a 3 minute walk to the Piazza Republica and a 6 minute walk to the Duomo. The roof top terrace on the 6th floor is the reason why I origionally chose this hotel and I was not dissapointed after a tiring day of sightseeing to come back to the terrace for a drink and relax was heaven.Of a night dinner is served on the terrace and although the menu is very limited (due to the very small kitchen area) the food wes excellent. I would reccomend this hotel 100% to anyone. For best buys in Florence you should go the market stalls around San Lorenzo theare fantastic I got the most fab leather jacket for £80.One of the best city breaks I have had.
I liked the ancient building of the hotel and its situation and also very good and friendly stuff. During our staying at the hotel we had 2 times change the room. First- because of problem with the wardrobe door in the room, the second time becase of the repairing works on our floor.
location is perfect, near the most famous bridge of Frenze, Ponte Vecciho. You can arrive Duomo and Uffizi just by walking.
Location and free breakfast All good
Location was the best for us, breakfast was good enough I highly recommend. Rooms are small but that's not a big deal for us
Very close to all major galleries. Clean, upgraded at no cost. The best reception staff in Italy for assistance. Very pleased with the choice.
The hotel's location is its strongest point - very central and heaps to see and do and eat!!! All good.
Fantastic location and excellent staff. Very good value for money, clean and reasonable breakfast. nothing to dislike
Love the location of this hotel - very close to Pitti Palace and Boboli gardens, as well as the Ufizzi. I love the area and literally seeing the Boboli garden house from the breakfast table. The breakfast is pretty nice quality and the view from the terrace is one of the nicest in Florence. The hotel has also adopted two friendly cats that laze on the terrace. The staff has always been terrific. I did not like the noise this time. I have stayed at this hotel before, but on upper floors. This time I was on the second floor and the street noise of the vendors setting up at 5 am, and people stumbling and singing back from the bars late into the night was more than I'd experienced previously. The two things that were upsetting this time, were 1) a fellow patron across the hall woke me up at 2 am on my first night there as he spoke loudly into his cell phone for 20 solid minutes, then again at 2:30 another call and again at 3 am a third. he apparently didn't want to bother the woman who was staying with him, who complained loudly, so he stepped into the hallway to take his calls right in front of my door, and proceeded to literally yell into his phone like there was a bad NASA connection to Mars. The second thing that was pretty bad this time was it seemed that the cleaning staff arrived at 5- 5:30 am every morning and proceeded to walk around directly above, sorting out their carts for the day. We really like this hotel, but if we have to endure this kind of noise, we will find another favorite place.
Location, value Had to friend Hotel get into internet, every time logged in and very slow
Large room with AC. Very comfortable. Nice view of small piazza. High ceilings, old world charm. Pigeons are a nuisance if you have your brekfast on the otherwise wonderful terrace. Internet was not functional.
Warm welcome at the front desk - being Italian, lots of excitement about the fact it was our honeymoon. Our room was good - decent size and view of Duomo - superb savings made thanks to booking.com.
Lovely hotel. Great location. Good buffet breakfast. Pretty garden terraces and public rooms. Room was a bit noisy
Great hotel staff, excellent service. Great location.
We got a free room upgrade to a huge suite, the location is on the best street in the centre of Florence and all the staff are extremely friendly. Nothing
The TB still retains something of its past atmosphere - a very comfortable and relaxing home from home in the middle of Florence - quite a find these days. Don't let it become spoilt or flashy. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Angelo, the major domo on Reception, knows all. Old world feel of the hotel is unique to Florence plus location close to Arno River. Heat was not working; portable radiator brought into room then knocked out electricity. Too much over-expansion on lower floors without proper maintenance. Lax to invisible security during major drug incident outside hotel's front door on 27-28 October. Disturbing sight and screaming stoned woman did not incite desk attendant to call Polizia, even in wee hours of morning.
The staff, the terrace, the location, the breakfast, and the furnishings. Nothing
Great room, excellent location, lovely roof-top terrace, very friendly and helpful staff. We should certainly return there. Nothing
Breakfest on the roof garden.
The service adn the kindness of the staff. The location nothing
Location was great, close to the main tourist sites. Distance from train station but it is only a short cab ride.
I loved the location, stayed with my daughter and granddaughter, since my grandson is studying in Florence and has an apartmentacross the Arno. We felt extremely safe ande pampered by yourexcellent staff, and especially loved the bar on the 5th floor. There wasnothing I did not like.
Great value. Great location. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Very nice room!
The location was perfect. The rooms were great and very spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were very neat and clean. My only regret is that we didn't make more use of the rooftop bar and restaurant.
Staff, room service, breakfast, accommodations, but ask for extra pillows. Also, elevators are super slow, but do not despair as other facilities make up for it. Do not walk with luggage to hotel is the only holdback as streets are tough for luggage. Center to sightseeing. As the saying goes, "do not judge a book by its cover", as this hotel's small corner entrance does not do the interior justice. It is truly a **** hotel. No gimmick. Elevator
The hotel staff was amazing. Rachel at the front desk helped us in every way. The rest of the front desk staff were all fantastic. The upgraded room was deeply thoughtful. I would recommend hotel very highly.
Everything!! Accommodations, location, charm, Comfort, Cleanliness & kind /helpful staff. Just perfect! Plus the amazing quality breakfast! Would stay there again & again!
Location in central Florence is perfect for exploring the city. Staff is helpful and attentive.
Myself and indeed all the members of my group enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is a fantastic place, right at the heart of everything. No
Perfect location, very close to the Uffizi Gallery, Palazzo Vecchio, and Ponte Vecchio. Beautiful room, with lots of luxurious little touches. The view I had was very good. I will forever enjoy the memory of opening my windows to listen to the sounds of Florence below. The rooftop bar was wonderful. The view from the top was great and the service from the bar staff was also top notch. Honestly, this is the best hotel I've stayed at in Italy, and the biggest reason why is the staff. The cleaning staff keeps everything looking sharp and tidy. My room was spotless. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful with any request I made, helping me find a jewelry shop off Ponte Vecchio, getting taxis for me, making reservations and recommendations, and doing it all with a smile and in a very friendly manner. They are the shining jewel of this establishment. The only thing I can think of that wasn't absolutely perfect is the wifi range. In many places, I could only get two bars, but I could get three in many places as well, so this is a minor problem.
The location, the hotel staff, the comfort of the hotel, the breakfast, the 5th floor bar, the lobby for relaxing, the sandwich shop next door "Ino" no free wi-fi, that's it. Otherwise, it's perfect for visiting Florence.
The staff were friendly and the location is superb right in the middle of the city center and at a walking distance from all major attractions. The room always clean and tidy. The hotel is a bit overpriced compared to similar 4-star hotels in Rome, especially that it was not a travel season in Oct 2010.
The staff were truly great they just couldn't do enough to help. It was a little difficult for us with our big pram but there is a lift at the top of the first flight of stairs, the staff were always willing to help though which was much appreciated.
Staff were fantastic, Location was fantastic really helpful staff
hi all i stayed at the Albergotto Hotel as a hotel to the Florence Marathon.everything was perfect about it.location, rooms, staff, great hotel. i liked everything.
Great location, walking distance to all the major museums. The staff was very helpful scheduling museum tours, train tickets. Would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat! This was not a problem for us however those who have difficulty climbing stairs should check with the hotel staff regarding handicap accessibility as you have to climb one full set of stairs to reach the elevator.
location! small room
staff very friendly, fantastic location ,breakfast was quiet good, coffee was excellent, specious bedrooms. did not like the entrance of the hotel.,no escalator till you reach the reception.Did not like the lobby of the hotel no atmosphere at all ,no bath in the room
Great location! A real big-city Italian hotel. Two flights of stairs before elevator. OK for me but maybe not others.
the promptitude and amabillity of whole personal
Great location. A delightful stay.
The location is fantastic. The breakfast is very good: nice staff, quick service and good food. Some bathroom amenities were missing (empty boxes on arrival and never replaced), there was not a single free socket to plug in the computer. All in all the room felt like an OK 3-star rather than 4.
The location plus how clean the room and bathroom.
The luxury comfort and the old world charm overlooking the river. Very romantic with good shopping and great resturants Leaving the hotel
It is my fourth stay. The location of the hotel could not be bettered. The room standard is excellent for comfort. Nothing comes to mind.
The location was excellent, the room was clean, and the staff was great. Breakfast was also superb. The rooms were a bit outdated.
The staff are delightful and the setting is superb. The bathroom was dated and could do with being replaced sooner rather than later.
I liked the location. The hotel is beautiful and the people who work there are friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and had all I needed for the night I stayed there. The taxi for the airport was there in 3 minutes. Probably my review should say excellent rather than good. The drain in the shower was slow. I forgot to mention that to the front desk employees. I'm sure they would have fixed that if I had let them know.
Florence is such a beautiful city with so much to see and do. Hotel Berchielli is a beautiful hotel, in a perfect location, with a wonderful helpful staff - a very nice place to come back to and relax after a day oftouring.
We were a short walk for the sites of Florence from Ponte Vecchio to the Uffizi Museum! Restaurants and cafes were plentiful and the staff was extremely helpful.
We enjoyed the Hotel Berchielli very much. It was located right on the Arno. We literally opened our windows and could see the Ponte Veicchio Bridge. The location was fabulous. We were close to the Uffize Gallerie and the Duomo. The hotel was a little on the older side, which gave it some european charm. However, the bathrooms had recently been renovated and were modern and clean. During my stay I left behind a shawl I had purchased. We called the hotel figuring it was long gone and the hotel had it for me. We were impressed with the honesty of the staff. The hotel also provided a full breakfast buffet on their second floor dining room. Just around the corner from the hotel is the stop to catch the tour bus of the city. Try to take a day trip to Tuscany if you have the time it was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again. One last tip... remember to close the shutters on your window while in Italy it will reduce the noise level.
hospitality of the hotel staff...
excellent position. Spacious room. friendly but efficient staff no
