The view from our room was excellent. The location was great as well. Within walking distance to the 5th ave. mall and lots of great eating establishments. Hotel was nice, clean and staff was very friendly. Hotel could use some renovations. The decor in the hallways looks like it came from the 70s. The bathrooms are a little small, expecllly in the shower.
The views, service, location and atmosphere were spectacular. Understated and friendly. Could have stayed forever. Valet parking is expensive, but very convenient.
Excellent fitness facilities Wonderful view Convenient to downtown locations
The location was wonderful. Both times we stayed there, about a week apart, we were given rooms right next to the elevators which ran all night long.
The hotel was nice overall and the front staff was very friendly and efficient. The hotel seemed very clean and I was always acknowledged by the hotel staff. The hotel restaurant was very good and has amazing views. I did not encounter any problems while I was there. I thought the hotel was in desperate need of a refresh or update. The rooms and the entire hotel seemed a bit dated. I stayed on the Captains Deck and the rooms were a bit small and did not impress. The sink did not drain properly. The most disappointing part of the trip was the breakfast which was never more than like warm at best. It come from the kitchen which is far away. The breakfast had 3 warm choices and one was always potatoes that were recycled from the night before. Not sure if I would spend that kind of money to stay at that hotel again.
Very comfortable and clean. Plenty of food and shopping. Had to pay and additional 20 dollars a day to park my own car. The hotel did not own the lot. The desk clerk filled out the passes incorrectly and I received a parking ticket. Took some arguing but I was able to get the hotel to reverse the parking charges so I can pay for the ticket.
Great hotel for business
The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff was friendly. Make sure to park in the Captain Cook garage and have your parking ticket validated. We were able to walk to dinner and shopping from our hotel - nice!
accomodations room to hot and front desk wouldn't provide a copy of receipt upon check out.
Pretty expensive for a 1 night, no amenities stay.
Room was not clean, too much noise from adjoining room.
Very nice and clean, nice staff, great house keeping. Rentaviation and missing door lock hook. Too long of walk to room. Need to move location of loby
I'm an incredibly high strung guy who demands a lot of myself, so I always know when I travel Alaska that I need to be more present to the amazing geography and lower my standards on the room I'll barely spend any time in while enjoying the outdoors. I travel to Anchorage one a quarter and have noticed that the Starvrating system isn't quite the same as the lower 48 states. With that said I was incredibly impressed with this hotel for its masterful balance of Alaska heritage (complete with animals) and modern hotel amenities. No need to lower any standards, but rather super clean rooms with modern furnishings and space efficient room layout. Staff was chipper, helpful, and really jovial. Nothing notable... However, I had an odd experience. I hydrate a lot on trips and typically go through a gallon a day. One night I ran out of water and I searched the hotel for bottled water, but there were zero options. Every single vending machine in the hotel was stocked full of soda and multiple brands of energy drinks. I ended up driving to a nearby gas station for some H2o. Not a big deal...
I was completely offended when the staff photocopied my driver's license and also took my credit card. I was told they do that (photo copy a driver's license) because of some of the actions that have taken place so they need to have this in case something happens - it creeped me out and made me wonder if I should even stay there in the first place! Are the clients so sketchy that everyone is a suspect? They claimed all hotels do that (copy the driver's license) they just don't tell you - I don't believe it - I hadn't had that happen before - I won't stay there again. The rooms were fine - this action is not!
Coffee in lobby. Convenient to restaurants. The price for a cup of coffee
Compared to other Hotel rates in area, rates were great. Room was large and had a microwave and refridgerator. Restaurant had good food. Bad- hotel is dated and needs to be renovated. Tv was 20 plus years. Bath had mold around tub and hot water was like warm. Sheets were wrinkled like maybe they weren't changed. They also were very thin. There was no fitted mattress pad or a fitted sheet. Mattress was warn out and had lumps.
Their suggestion of another hotel They refused to check me in. Angel, the woman processing my check-in could not find my reservation. She was rude and inhospitable. I will never go back.
I like inlet towers for the value Shower drain very slow to drain. Toilet awkward location behind bathroom door. Old facilities. Hair on couch. Dirty baseboards. Poor air circulation.
location to airport
I booked my room on hotel.com so I paid $57 a night. Stayed in room 1504. For whatever reason I was upgraded to their top floor with a kitchenette, two queen sized beds, and a view of the mountains and water. (I booked a regular 1 queen bed room). The restaurant was really good but very pricey! The restaurant staff is so nice and super great. Food and drinks were tasty! I had the shuttle pick me up from the airport at 3:30am- takes about 20-30 mins for them to get there. They said the reason for the wait is that they were warming the van up (it was warm). The guy driving the van was extremely nice he even offered to make a breakfast run for me! If you're driving parking is easy and right out front of the building. Very close to downtown - if it weren't freezing we could have walked about 3-5 blocks to get to downtown! I would probably stay here again just because I like to travel cheap and this is the cheapest 3 star hotel in Anchorage. I am staying here again in April, will right another review! It wasn't the cleanest....the fridge had visible dirt in it. There were random brown splatters on the walls and ceiling. Hair in the bathroom (every where). Toilet and towels were about the only thing that was really clean in the bathroom. I will note the bedding was clean and smelled fresh! There is wonderful looking wallpaper on the walls and in the far corner (next to the bed I did not use) the entire corner of the wall is loose and you can lift it away from the studs in the wall. Every day I was there my key would not work (4 nights). It's kind of a pain to go from the 15th floor to get a new key. They blamed it on us because cell phones deactivate them however my boyfriend had it in his wallet the entire time. I had tried calling the night before my stay ended to see what time the shuttle left in the morning and no one would answer the front desk phone from 10pm-11pm. You can hear everything through the walls. Everything your neighbors do can be heard. Luckily we only had "neighbors" 2 of our 4 nights.
It is always a great experience at the Inlet Tower. I always walk into a clean room, with a great view overlooking the city. The employees give great customer service, whether it be at the front desk, at the bar, or at the resturaunt. You cannot beat the quality for the price.
Front office desk staff was fairly good. Close proximity to airport (~5 miles). Decent view from our 11th floor window. The carpet in the halls were quite stained, our AC in the room did not cool. The bathroom vent fan did work at all. There was a tube of caulk left on the floor. There were several things that were not clean including the bathroom counter and trim, and bathroom vent. The TV remote for the old tube-type TV did not work and the battery cover was just taped on. The staff did bring us a fan to cool off the room. That helped the temperature some, but largely the reason for running the AC unit was for cover noise so we wouldn't hear other rooms or outside noise as well as being able to close the blinds to make it darker so we could get to sleep early for our 2:30AM wake-up time for our flight.
excellent view could not sleep due tp bed bugs
Good location. Spacious room. Comfortable beds. Nice market nearby. Walkable to city center and parks/trails.
Close enough to everything that you could walk. Large parking lot. Big room. Hotel itself is a bit dated and could use a makeover. Friendly staff. Rooms smelled a little musty.
Not much the lobby was deceptivly clean and well built then going up stairs total opposite Room was broken in so many ways yellow stains in tub back splash broken like it had been punched base board not even attached to wall in most places entry door was loose which makes security an issue quick easy repairs unless maintenece is completely incompotent just about every applience out dated and worn down i could repair all damages in about 2 hrs not very happy and was looking for a month or more stay just doing trial run wont stay again and will not let any friends stay there.
Location Charged for parking and no room for parking staff did not communicate where to park. Heater would make large banging sound. Neighbors were loud.
Great hotel, staff were awesome!
Very clean room Mountain view No electric plugs on night stands Not enough plugs on desk stand No free WiFi - but knew that beforehand No free parking - but knew that beforehand Bed was too soft and sheet too starchy No vending machines on floor
The friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the room, the breakfast buffet was incredible, the internal architecture and design was so modern and sleek, the bed was amazingly comfortable, and the hotel is located in an amazing area. I wish they had a swimming pool! :-)
Was locked out of my room with my 6 yr old in the hallway for over an hour .. Key cards had to be redone twice a day .. it got really aggravating after 5 days ..
It was cheap. No breakfast, very slow wifi, elevators antiquated, rooms small and not comfortable.
Bed & linens were very nice & comfortable. We appreciated they let us check in early after a long drive from the cruise ship in Whittier. Room was nicely decorated & everything worked fine. Location not the best. Walking by the BMW dealer towards the restaurant, a sales lady came out & told us to be careful - it was not a good part of town (crime)? Overall we thought it was too much $$ per night for 3 nights. No deals. The institutional toilet was a surprise, since the other amenities in our room were nice. Very loud noise when flushing. The restaurant staff - slow, maybe overwhelmed (understaffed) and incorrect' additions' on the breakfast bill. Sky high prices, too.
The staff was very friendly and our room was clean with a nice view. The hotel was located in a part of the city where it was easy to access many of the attractions we were interested in. Overall it is a lovely hotel. The hotel was a bit spendy and we were kind of disappointed that they didn't have an indoor pool. They also did not offer any form of free breakfast, and for the price of booking a night there, the breakfast we ordered wasn't the greatest quality.
lockaion no vending machines no tv guide
We enjoyed our recent stay at The Sheraton. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated their pet policy and their welcoming attitude to our fur-child. We will be back!
Went for Valentine's day/night Check in was quick check out was quick Bed was very clean and comfy Not enough parking
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here. We booked the 11th floor which is the club level, allowing access to a club room that has 24/7 complimentary coffee, sofa, bottled water and juices as well as light snacks. Also, every morning the lounge provided breakfast and every evening wine, beer and appetizers. We highly recommend spending the few extra dollars to stay in a club room!! The hotel does not have a pool and the spa is difficult to get information on as well as access to. Also, there is no valet parking.
No heat in the room despite Alaska tempuratures
owner was nice bed not properly made so lumpy & at 2am when we finally got there we just crashed after long train ride, car rental, finding location (sign hidden-thak God I had a Garmin. It says Inn & SUites, but far from it-looks like a Motel 6 (-2). Owner says new beds and some fixing but looks like OLD interior-pink paint etc. old Sorry :(
The staff was wonderful and while the facility is dated, it was clean and smelled clean. Compared to other area hotels, the price was good and location was quiet.
In-room frig, comfortable beds with 3 pillows for each double bed, roomy, close to downtown and airport with a car, large fan in the room. It had a neat appearance with bedspreads tucked in at the corners. Looks a little better in person than the photo. It had all clean surfaces except for some dirt on bathroom floor in the corners. But all else looked neat & clean. I still felt comfortable staying here.

The quietness. I slept like a baby. Checking in took forever.
Great location and staff. It would be great if it had a continental breakfast.
It's nice and clean good area it was pretty quiet Nope it was good
Service and location Nothing everything was good

Clean, great location, and most important - always super friendly staff.
Location, nice lounge and the rooms are kepy up well. Nothing at all.
Swimming pool Bed bugs! Bed is gross af! Probably didn't change it... The following morning a had this red swollen marks all over may body.
Location and price are nice Well a couple minor things: 1. Not that I really needed it but my in room phone did not work. I had to use my cell to call the front desk. 2. The morning maintence crew was not working on the morning I was to check out. So the spa was not open
Staff made sure we had what we needed as well as a couple of our requests were made happily Walls are a little thin a bit noisy
Great staff. Clean and comfortable. Warm and well appointed! NO
Good customer service No vents in bathroom. Could be updated
The bath room design is a plus, since they put the water sink and shower room separately so people can do those things at the same time
within walking distance of downtown attractions needed some maintenance... bathroom light didn't always work sitting room tv didn't work, drippy faucet in bathroom
Location The building smelled, needs a desperate renovation, bathroom was small, had to ask for soap every day, trash bags were not provided.
The hotel associates lacked customer service! The breakfast lines were horrible, and also bad hostess service. *also they need conditioner(shampoo). I would never stay there again.
The room is good and there is no infestation like other cheap anchorage downtown hotels. The staff is super rude and they should be fired. The price is not a good deal for just one night if you pay over $60/night your getting ripped off. The internet is super slow I got a fast internet speeds from a 3g connection on my cell phone. The breakfast is cold and nothing is cooked. Pretty lame hotel that doesn't offer good amenities. Would suggest getting a room at a different hotel that has a better staff, good breakfast, and fast internet.
Great central location Wifi is slow. Beds are uncomfortable.
I picked the hotel because of its location, I needed to be near the Alaska native medical center but found that the room was so clean and perfect. One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. The staff was super friendly! There wasn't much to like! I wish they had more of a set schedule for shuttle service. And the morning I needed a shuttle to the airport the driver hadn't shown up to work but that's an isolated incident.
Clean environment. Free breakfast. Calm location. There were no locks for the toilet or the bathroom. Apparently this is the case in all rooms (!). We stayed in a 2-bed room with other family members including children. No locks don't make sense at all. I'd not pick this hotel again just for this reason if I'm going with family again.
Beautiful modern design, the set up of the room was very efficient The room wasn't entirely perfect. We were missing sofa bed cushions and a coffee maker. Otherwise, it was great!
Nice place, and I travel a lot. Great shuttle service. Nice and helpful people at the front desk, thanks.
Location was good and it had a free shuttle to and from the airport. Bed was very comfortable and had plenty of pillows. TV was located in and odd spot so when we pulled it out to watch it while laying in bed the cable cord came undone. Bathroom didn't have a fan either so it go steamy in there right away. Shower was very spacious.
We were supposed to get to Anchorage at 12:00 noon. Our flight was bumped, and we didn't get in until 12:00 midnight. Our luggage didn't make our plane either. We got to the hotel after midnight, the staff was excellent! They were able to give us tooth brushes, toothpaste, shaving cream and razor. I can't tell you how nice that was when you have nothing more than the clothes on your back! Thanks Marriott. I'll be staying with you again. Todd Greer, Wildomar CA
Close location to airport Limited food options
Location, cleanliness The cafe staff were really nice but something was wrong with the food there.
No reward points given because it was booked online with who they call third party.
Location, Cleanliness and Facilities Air conditioning was not working and I was asked to open windows and sleep. After multiple calls they sent me a fan. They told me they will fix it next day and it is the same problem. They made me move next day to a different room. I was on vacation and expected little more from Marriot
The bathroom didn't have a fan. That made me sad. The TV wasn't facing the bed either. Wtf is up with that.
New decor. Wonderful staff, especially the short-order breakfast cook. Would have liked to see the edges of the carpet in the hallways cleaned. Did mention this, and they were going to address it.
Embassy Suites is one of my favorite hotels, and the Anchorage location is no exception. The rooms are clean and quiet. The shuttle was a lifesaver. The fitness room was excellent, as was the pool. On this trip we really relied on the laundry facilities and were pleased there were enough washers/dryers so there wasn't a wait to use them or it was very little. Since we traveled in the summer, we also relied on the blackout shades. It was a phenominal experience!
All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. No pay-per-view movies
clean and close to the airport I could hear the motors of the elevator running all night, very noisy. Police were in at 4:00 am pulling a tenant out of their room. It took an hour to do so which made it impossible to get any sleep.
Lovely hotel, beautiful room
the beds the remodel
The young lady that checked us in was very good at her job but she had a lot to do. Only one person at the front desk. We waited 20 minutes to check in, people behind us waited a lot longer.
Hot tub fantastic but facilities could use and upgrade on paint and ceiling. Acoustics are wonderful in there great design to minimize sound.
Attractive decor Not enough towels and supplies
Clean room, friendly, personal staff. great location. Noisy A/C. Price too high in light of property. Price jacked up for summer guests. What about us who are Honors people? Most Garden Inns have a cocktail hour and snacks for business travelers, but not this one.
Clean and safe. Perfect central location. Walking distance to TGI Fridays. Golden Coral and Starbucks. Friendly staff and large hot tub.
Good central location for shopping and dining. Friendly staff. A decent breakfast included. Pool My five year old son found an empty vodka bottle under the bed. There was popcorn, bottle caps and other debris under the bed. My wife had to borrow a vacuum from staff to finish cleaning the room. Just as we were planning on using the pool, it was closed for cleaning at 3pm until sometime the next day so we had to use a pool at another Hilton property, an inconvenience since our room was just across from the pool but at least they did give us another option to swim.
Location is great. Centrally located, but fairly quiet.
staff is very good, services is the best, good room, all the facilities is up to standered. nothing.
The chocolate chip biscuits at the front desk were an indication of the warmth of the staff at the hotel. The free breakfasts were pleasant and there were plenty of inexpensive restaurants near by. The hotel is a little out of the way for those who aren't working mid-town. It is neither near the vibrant downtown nor the airport where there are some interesting walks. The shuttle to the airport is helpful and I believe the shuttle takes guests to some other places too but alas not to the golf course!
Convenient location. Clean room. Pretty good wifi which is not the usual for Alaska . Bed was comfortable. Very thin walls. Drapes wouldn't close all the way because the a/c was in the way so light was pouring in all night. Had to sleep with a pillow over my head.
Everything was very clean. Sheets, duvet, bathroom, countertops. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
It was nicely decorated as updated and very clean. The heater/ac unit I my room ran constantly wich was ok kind of sounded like a fan but it would squeak/ chirp every so often and I had to turn music on to drowned it out. And I should just travel with my own pillows but I really hate hotel pillows that are so fluffy and soft. But it's a nice hotel and I'd stay there again.
Evening front desk manager, Meagan, was extremely helpful, courteous, and professional. Not many out there can remember a clients name. Will have to be back a couple of times over the next few months and will definitely stay here. Need to add something to breakfast bar to make it stand out. The same as everyone else's. Ran out of both regular and robust coffee at the same time and neither replaced for over ten minutes. Not good when it is sub-freezing weather.
very good service from the staff, shuttle service excellent, breakfasts good. no
breakfast i lost internet twice but it could be the provider
Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Excellent breakfast. Very clean rooms had nice shampoo, soap and lotions provided. Great location, close to a mall for shopping or entertainment.
The breakfast is not very good. Substandard for the price.
I loved the tub and bed
Everything. Staff was very accommodating. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and very spacious. Not a lot of options at breakfast.
The breakfast and coffee were great. The thin walls, rumbling cars, and aggressive hotel guests with laundry problems.
My husband really enjoyed the breakfast! Everything was clean. Overpriced for the accommodations! No exhaust fan in bathroom!
Being downtown was convenient. I regret getting an upgrade from the 3rd floor to the 12th because I ended up with an uncomfortable bed that sagged so much it felt indented. Having to pay for parking sucked. And my bed was so indented that I could not get comfortable. The pillows are too thick too.
Location, accessibility, value for price, helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms False fire alarm later announced as a drill at 5:30 am.
The staff at the front desk was very friendly. They just smiled and welcomed us back when we were in and out all night with a big group of friends who also had rooms.
Location is great for shopping and downtown restaurants. Bath was in need of updating. Very limited parking lot. First floor check-in area was cramped, cluttered and needed updating.
Location Staff was rude and unprofessional, not to us but witnessed towards another guest. Hotel is old, outdated and needs a major remodel.
aCean and well-located. Getting up in the dark to catch a plane--not the hotel's fault.
The king bed was comfy, and the balcony was neat (though I'd get more use from it in the summer months...thought for next time). I found the amenities more lacking than I'd expected. I was pretty sure I saw cable TV listed, but the remote control's guide feature didn't work, and there weren't many channels. There was no mini-fridge; I thought those were pretty much standard in any hotel above "motor lodge" class. The toiletries (shampoo, body wash, etc) came out of dispensers). There were only a few cheap plastic cups in the room...so cheap that two of them were cracked and unusable before I even got them out of the plastic wrapper. I also expected parking to be included; instead, it was an extra 12 bucks. That's not awful, but for $100 a night you should be able to toss in parking.
Breakfast. Staff was nice Severely dated and in a rundown neighborhood. Did not feel clean.
The price. My only real complaint is the smell that pervaded the room. It was strong enough to give me a headache, and most closely resembled the smell of urine.
Room was roomy with a separate living room and bedroom. There was a fold-down bed to accommodate more people. The hotel is on a quite busy road so it is noisy at times. The walls seem thin because I heard people laughing and cutting up outside. The internet service was down with no apologies, the front desk simply said someone "was working on it". I worked at nights so was seeping during the daytime. The maid knocked on my door for a long time to be let in despite of the locked door providing the message someone was in there. No "Do Not Disturb" sign available to place outside the door.
-Roomy -Wi fi was down - No business center even tho advertised as amenities - No hot water for a few hours
Close to my home, clean, affordable!!! We had no do not disturb sign!
Close to the airport, shuttle driver excellent. Room had no air condition, in fact the heat was turned on and the room temp was close to 90. no thermostat to turn the heat off. Had to argue with desk clerk to get another room even though there were only 10-15 guest. Musty smell, outdated and dirty.
Location was good to hit some nearby places we wanted to go, the rooms were seperated. Immediately walking in the room smelled like cheap hookers, it was out of date and looked run down, and the tv remote didn't work for the tv.
Room was large Room was advertised as "non smoking". Smoke residue started an asthsma attack in one in our party. Also facility is not handicap accessable- the only rooms available were on floor 2 & 3 no elevator! There was no other available room to switch to.
The lady that checked me in was sweet and the bellmen that helped me in and out were spectacular The room was very tiny! The bathroom was even smaller! There was no ice machine nearby. When I ordered dinner, they were missing particulars from the order but did not tell me that when I ordersd
The hotel itself had everything we needed and the location was perfect for our needs i.e right next to the train station. the rooms were large and clean. The staff reception was one of the worst I had ever experienced anywhere in the world. We were not greeted for about five minutes despite the fact that they were not busy. We made eye contact with several staff however, they never came to the desk to assist us. One staff member at the counter, was too busy trying to assist a contractor (not a guest) and completely ignored us. When we finally did get service, the staff member did not appreciate that we had waited so long. Then, to add insult to injury, the rooms we had requested (adjoining rooms for our children) were obviously not arranged and it took the manager about ten minutes to sort it out.
This is one of the most dated rooms O have ever seen in a Hilton. Otherwise lean and well-run, walkable to downtown shops and restaurants.
The location is perfect. We walked everywhere we wanted to go.
Wish there was a way to know when amenities are closed for service! And the spa has plants growing in it!!! Bummer
The location was great The hotel is very run down and looks to have not been upgraded in awhile. The rooms were dirty and falling apart. Wall paper in the rooms was coming off. There was dirt and dead mosquitos all over. One bed had a plywood backing on the wall to keep it tight. The lock on the door was loose.Paid extra because it was the hilton, but did not get my money worth.
Location, staff most helpful with travel needs. Daily room rate costly
The staff was particularly helpful in getting dinner reservations and if you need it ask at the front desk to borrow an umbrella.
Enjoyed my entire stay. No transportation from airport. Restaurants are very expensive, although the food is good.
The staff was very helpful. We are Gold members and since the Lounge is now closed on the weekend, we were given a voucher for a free continental breakfast in their restaurant. We were given late checkout, which we needed because we had a late flight from Anchorage. We didn't like that the Lounge was closed on the weekend. It was also a little pricey. They don't have a shuttle from the airport, although it seemed that many other hotels did.
I've had so many great memories here. I prefer this hotel to the Cook as the rooms are slightly larger and the decor doesn't make liberal Alaskans uncomfortable. The rooms are smaller than the hotels in midtown, and the restaurant in the hotel are not as interesting as the other downtown restaurants.
The room was great. Windows were dirty but view was great anyway
Comfort, big bath and the view. No small refrigerator for my insulin.
It was a very clean and quiet place too stay. The breakfast is very good too. Great place to stay.
The overall facility was great. But the room wasn't the bed was to high. I needed help of a chair to get into bed. Even then it was a struggle. The light was set up for charging my phone but it didn't work. The tv remote didn't work. The friendly staff. The place was very clean.
