Nothing Nonsmoking room smelled like smoke, dirty carpet, ants in the bathroom, no water pressure, toilet splashed all over when flushed. I could go on and on
The beds were comfortable. It was very run down and the area did not feel very safe.
There were nice amenities available including a pool, hot tub, and workout room. The staff were friendly and prompt at dealing with questions or solving any issues we had during our stay. The rooms were clean and all outlets and items such as wifi and tv in the room functioned properly. For the approximate $40 per night we paid it was a great deal for the area (as many are over twice that) despite the age of our particular assigned room and the amenities it was lacking. If you require a basic room at a cheap price this fits the bill. The unit (motel style in the back of the property) that we were in was obviously older and lacking in renovations or restoration.
Cost Room standards and local area.
Friendly staff and ease of location to interstates and Old Town. It was old, not updated in last 15 years. Still had a tube TV. Door opened to parking lot. Daylight coming in under the door. Table in room was all scratched. Did not feel safe. The tub was in very rough shape. Yuck!!! Don't stay here. Needs to be updated!!!!
It was not what I'm accustomed to
The rooms were dirty. Showers and toilet looked unclean. Carpet was sticky. Only stay here if you really cant afford anything better. Dog poop all over the grounds/grass, wasnt picked up. Was not a "RESORT" as titled.
Laundry and pool area. Very clean! Thank you.
Mostly everything was ok. The outlets didn't fit right when trying to plug in too loose.
Didn't like the fact that the tv was a tube tv and the room smelled. No fridge or microwave and the ice machine didn't work.
It was cheap The pool that was NOT filled in with dirt was fine. None of my stuff got stolen. I did not see any cockroaches. Breakfast is NOT included, despite what it says online. I put that first because everything I found online said it was, and when I suggested that the hotel do something about updating that info, they suggested I try the on-site cafe. Conveniently located next to the on-site liquor store. You think that's a joke? Look it up. Seriously. On-Site liquor store. Maybe that's a plus for some people. AC ran full tilt 24 hours a day and NEVER got cool inside the room - in October. Chair was broken. Phone was not working- but they did replace it. The bed was like a sinkhole, a HUGE depression in the center. Room definitely smelled musty and not-too-faintly of urine Two ice machines on site. Good luck getting ice though. One guest told me it's better to just go buy a bag at the store. He was right. The "free wifi" was slower than dial-up, but not as reliable. If you try to use it after 7AM, when other guests are also trying to use it, you have not got a prayer. Staff could not care less about complaints. For some reason, the TV cannot be set to just come on on channel 3. You have to turn it on, - it comes on around channel 50 - and manually get back to 3, then you can use the remote. If the little IR sensor has not fallen behind the TV, which mine had. No one told me about the little sensor. The maintenance guy eventually came and fiddled with it, eventually pulling it around to the side a bit, so that if you were right in front of the TV and aimed the remote to the left, it worked. A small thing, but really, I'm sure they knew what the problem was in the first place and some fresh double sided tape would have taken care of it. The tiny bathroom seemed clean, though the sink is in need of repair. The windows had locks which could be opened, but the windows would not open. Since the AC was a failure, this was sometimes a problem. The cabinet which holds the TV also serves as your dresser. The rollers WOULD NOT stay on the slides. The slides are bent and loose, so every time you open the thing, one of the rollers falls off. I got into the habit of just pulling the thing out to get to the bottom drawer, which was inaccessible when the top one was off the rails. Overall, if you need a cheap hotel as close to the nice hotels on Hotel Circle as possible, then this is a place to stay without sleeping outside. If you are there for business and every penny out of pocket counts, I would say you can make it work. Insist on a room as close to the office as possible, inspect it before unpacking anything, and see if they can upgrade your room when you find something wrong. If you are looking for a place to take anyone you are NOT paying to stay with you - wife, children, unpaid romantic interest - spend the extra cash for a place that does not feel like being in a John Carpenter movie.
It was right off the highway & looked like a good stopping place foe my cross-country move. There was black mold growing along the walls, white stains in the carpet, and a soiled chair. The tubs drain was clogged as well, filling up the tub with blueish water during a shower. I was by no means expecting luxury, but the condition of this room was appalling. Staff didn't seem the least bit concerned, and management has not responded to my concerns. The state health department should shut this place down.
The staff, from the manager to the cleaning staff exceeded great. They were all so helpful, patient and went above and beyond helping us with ANY inquiries. The restaurant (mexican) and the Waffle Spot were both FABULOUS! I can't applaud the staff enough! The day we arrived San Diego was having the WORST rain storms in over five years! We requested an upstairs room due to the flooding. But the staff went above and beyond in getting us settled, provided extra requests from us with NO HESITATION! I would recommend the KINGS INN if you want open hospitality and NICE PEOPLE!
Nice older hotel, great value Was a bit noisy near the pool
Rooms were clean and equipped with a/c. They also have a pool and provide coupons for Waffle Spot. Booked a king bed room and we were given two queens but room was really nice and clean so it wasn't a huge issue.
Close to old town and mission bay Free parking Pool is heated A little outdated Nice from freeway if your your faces freeway
Front/restaurant staff very nice and attentive. Rearranged guest to accommodate special needs family member. Hot tub was nice. Bathroom very clean. Housekeeping glaring at husband when he asked a question, dirty blanket on bed, fairly certain that bedding is not washed regularly. Carpet dirtier than a simple vacuum can handle. Cramped space, especially bathroom. Tv nice, but small.
Wasnt able to check in until after 5:00 PM. That, to me was unreasonable. Something to do with short staffed in the houysekeeping dept. I flew in from HNL via Seattle so was shelled and didnt appreciate waithing so long to get my room.
Rooms were standard, clean enough, beds comfortable enough, etc. BUT the waffle spot, now there's where this place stands out. Imagine the best waffles of your life, just a 2 minute walk from your room! Definitely the best part of the stay. Would highly recommend the blueberry waffles.
well maintained, even if dated noisy guests
Its only minutes from the beach and Sea World. Convenient location and affordable price makes it a value. Clean and interesting decor, even if a little cheesy. Very 1950s castle motif. , But the parking lot is so small you'll be lucky to get a spot at all, let alone next to your room. And I wish the bathrooms were human sized. I could barely turn around in there. Also there really isnt a continental breakfast, but I feel bad complaining about something I'd never use personally. All in all tho, I'd probably use them again.
The Staff is wonderful. The hotel is one of the cleanest I have ever stayed. Food was good and the Bartender fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel.
Cute hotel. Nice pool/lounge area. Rooms were clean and comfortable although it did take quite a while for the A/C to cool down the room. Staff was friendly and helpful. Check in isn't until 4pm...that seems VERY late to me. I have never encountered a check in that late before. I understand that rooms need to be cleaned but if check out is 11....maybe that's just me. Luckily they were able to accommodate our early check in the weekend we visited. No continental breakfast that I saw, which was listed as an amenity.
I liked the mini restaurant, and the mirror in the bedroom I didn't like how small the tub was, or how pricey the meal was for breakfast
I liked the two ladies from the front desk!! That I stayed only for one night..
Hotel was just fine for what we needed, a place to crash after our flight.
The towels in our room had lipstick stains. Makes you wonder what else was not cleaned..
It was a very nice hotel clean, comfortable, and easily assessable. I didn't like the fact that people were smoking weed inside and outside there rooms.
Landscaping is beautiful. Staff at service cafe very courteous. Check-in at 4pm instead of usual 3pm. Really messed up our day. Staff at desk had very poor customer service. Not friendly at all. Room was very small. Much smaller than advertised picture. Not even a continental breakfast even though the cost of the room is high. Cafe was overpriced.
We liked the fast and easy of the reservation online, location of the hotel, the staff that were working at the resection, the confort of the beds and the cleanliness of the room, the free parking and the price for all this.
Cheap and clean room I could hear every word, sneeze, cough, and tv show of the rooms next to me. Extremely annoying and did not let me sleep.
It was quiet Felt a little low-end. Ac units were leaking water onto the sidewalk. The parking lot had very tight parking lanes.
Costumer service was amazing, yet every 3 hours we had the fire alarm go off on us! Not too relaxing
The thing I liked best about the Best Western Seven Seas was the front desk people. They were nice, but when I asked for a room a little closer up (safer with 3 kids alone), she just said, "We have security." But I don't think I saw security around. I was kind of scared and even my daughters felt insecure too. The area is shady. Honestly, this hotel looks equal to all the other lowest-end hotels on hotel circle drive. They are all pretty shotty looking, and the Best Western just has prettier pictures, but don't let it fool you. Save money and go to a different hotel on the street, only if you don't mind a CHEAP hotel and a shady area throughout. Also, we saw 3 ants crawling on us while there for a night and the rooms are extremely SMALL, like the smallest standard room I think I have ever stayed in. It wasn't clean or nice at all and I kept my flip flops on while walking on the gooey-feeling carpet. Go a few miles up north and pick a little better area if you want nice because you won't get a nice hotel on Hotel Circle Drive (I looked around after checking out one day early).
Great stay and wonderful staff. Thank you all.
The hidden parking fee charged at end of check out
1. Reasonably-priced. 2. There was a long line at the check-in/out counter, but the staff was very accommodating/pleasant, so the long wait was more bearable. 1. We were on the 2nd floor. We could feel the floor vibrating whenever there were people walking along the corridor. 2. The bathroom door is difficult to slide close/open and the lock was not working properly.
Easy to get to. close to the freeways. Staff was great. Had to pay for parking.
it was clean. The front door to our room would not shut all the way looks as though they tried to grind it for settling but still didn't shut stayed for 2 days could hear animals fighting outside and people talking outside the floor was weak in spots and creaked .
the cost for the room not clean, bed sheet where low grade, very noisy charge for parking now rude guy at checkin
Great location- close to everything. very nice rooms, nice workers, restaraunts & mini market walking distance, fridge & microwave in room, would definitely stay there again!!
Location, friendly/helpful staff
The room was clean the shower took way too long to drain out
The hotel was awesome, and great for the price.
Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean no water in the gym or in the vending machines, no breakfast, not even a place to buy one.
pool, hot tub
It was very comfortable & quiet. Great 2-night stay. The room humidity was high and felt musty from the AC or something.
Area plase easy acces to the freway ilumination Expensive and other charges like parking and wi five in dont usex and i have to paY i rhing this needs to be a corresy of the hotel the room was to humed even if we uzsed the ac and the carpet smell like pop o animal pi
The renovated rooms were somewhat nice. The air conditioner made an awful knocking sound, you could hear EVERY little thing outside, the construction was a huge mess, very cheaply put together. The sheets smelled like mildew. A couple of the white pillow cases had, what appeared to be, blood on them.
Though grounds and buildings and exteriors clearly need refreshening, room in tower interior and bedding was updated and clean, and right next to parking lot a 10 min stroll to convention center. Glad we packed lightly with rolling luggage as self serve. Convention food was bland, worse than summer camp, even banquet food was bland, 8 days with no hot meals for gluten free except for on last couple days bland dishwater-like soup finally labeled gluten-free. Quinoa cold salad was delicious - also only offered one day and leftovers in buffet next day - glad I tried it but overheard others afraid to try as assumed made with unhealthy canned peas and carrots, but was actually cut fresh raw cucumber celery and carrot. Should have offered rate reduction. Survived on the 24 hr carrot and celery sticks and whole fruit as breadless hot dogs and cold tasteless canned tuna did not appeal to me and boiled eggs was onlything i could eat from breakfast buffet of cereals and wheatladen pastries, no hot breakfast offered at all. Hot meals that I could not eat were nothing special either - nothing chef made - just unbag from freezer and dump in buffet warmers - breaded chicken strips, chilimac, penne and sauce, lasagne, alfredo pasta. Escaped to mall - True Food and PJ Changs had gluten free variety of selections but had to pay out of pocket - even onsite restaurant charged extra to substitute as I saw no gluten friendly options labeled.
Bellman were the best! Helped me with luggage & getting around expansive grounds via electric carts. Very nice gift shop. At times front desk & concierge desk were so overwhelmed/understaffed, it just wasn't worth the wait in line for service. Because of these lines/wait times, some seating is necessary on that side of lobby, or a number system for those who can't stand to wait in line.
The maids and ground staff were very friendly and accommodating! oVer and hour just to check in .. Rooms are severely outdated .. Parking was $19 a day and there was never any spot available .. People were double parked and I had to circle for almost 45 minutes every night. The wifi never worked and was $15 a day ..
Nothing $19 for parking per day and an extra $15 for resort fee. Ridiculous. The shower/bath tub was clogged when I was using it. The fan raddled like crazy. Furniture very worn out. The entire place seemed run-down. I paid over $200 per, what a rip off for a place like this.
The rooms were small and had a weird smell. My fiancé and laid down and were disturbed by a big bug running across the bed. We called the front desk and explained what happened and they didn't see to care much. They just gave Us another small stinky room. Also when I asked about the golf course they show on their brochure they told us it's not owed by them so they couldn't get me access...totally misleading pics will no longer stay there it's not worth it.
Great location! Centrally located, easy to access trolley and buses. Helpful and courteous staff. Maintenance issues. Dresser drawers broken, Stairmaster equipment rusted and shuts down in middle of workout. Wifi kept disconnecting. $15 daily extra charge to use fitness center and wifi also was not clearly described by counter staff beforehand.
The facilities them selves needs an update. Its like they are stuck in the 1980s. My room was clean but definitley needed an update. And a fridge in the room would have been nice. There wasn't an elevator in the section I stayed in so thankfully I was only on the second floor. A bit difficult to maneuver my suit case, but I managed.
Clean with good A/C, Good amenities and good marking of room locations for a complex of spread out buildings. Hotel Circle location is confusing anf hard to exit and enter off the 8 freeway. Long lines of traffic to go anywhere, just to get on the freeway.
I liked the room. It was large, comfortable, and clean. The beds were made and towels changed daily. The grounds take a bit of map-reading to figure out, but were clean and picturesque. The location is not the most convenient, but the nearby Trolley stop brought me easily to Old Town. The food was OK, nothing special. The Internet was always available, but was not the quickest. That could be a problem, as it was at the Computer Science Teachers conference I attended!
Large facility. BBQ bar had very good BBQ food although a little limited on food choices. Rooms definitely dated. Air conditioning did not work after first day. Bed was on the floor, not on any type of riser. Musty. Limited food choices for such a large place. Staff was very friendly though.
Great location. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Cute "beach" inspired decor. This hotel was under construction during our stay. They need a few improvements...double paned windows (the freeway is VERY noisy), towel rods and small overlooked details.
Muy buena atencion Mala conexión wifi
everything was great. clean and comfy
Comfortable beds, simple, fast check in and check out
Recently renovated hotel with nice hardwood flooring! Price was great, room was always cleaned in a timely fashion, and staff was really nice. The bed was also very comfy and it was great having a fridge/microwave! Had a family above us whose kids would run back and forth at very early hours (definitely not the hotel's fault, just maybe put families on lower levels??). Would be nice to have a better breakfast. Had one tray of pastries and coffee. Even putting out cereal, some fruit, and maybe bagels would be better!
Not pricey. Well-located. Clean. Comfy beds. On-site convenience store/restaurant. Horrible water pressure in the shower. Poor lighting options.
I didn't like how they played the music by the pool all night long. That was super annoying
Room was very clean and comfortable, one of the nicest hotels I've been too. Staff were also great particularly Yessica who checked us in, made us feel very welcome. The mini fridge in the room was disappointing it worked but did not cool well at all. It was room 112.
Clean, efficient check in
The hotel was clean but my moms complimentary water had already been drunk half way, the room was decent but as soon as we arrived after a long flight there was no hot water through out the entire hotel. We asked when it would be fixed and we were told we would have to wait till the next day. We had to be up very early the next day for a marine graduation so that was very inconvenient for my family and myself so we decided to cancel our reservation and made our way to a hotel that had running hot water. The customer service andno running hot water. Especially for the price.
Bed was comfortable. Room renovations were nice. Price was good. Parking lot well lit. Old single pane windows hard to open and didn't do well for noise. Right next to the freeway, so a little more insulation would have been good. Refrigerator and AC were noisier than expected. Keycard didn't work. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom. Charged my credit card the next day for use of the in room safe even though I didn't use it. I do not appreciate being nickel and dimed especially, if not informed in advance. They should have just included the cost of the safe in the room price.
The cleanliness of the hotel. Except there was mildew on shower tiles. They charge you an extra $22.54 per pet per night. This is not told to you at all but you sign paperwork stating they are going to charge you when you check in. They don't tell you and you wouldn't know unless you fully read the small print. So get ready to pay extra then what you paid on Kayak. Also get ready for them to watch your every single step when your outside your hotel room. Talk about stalking.
The price was right Close to a lot of good places No problems finding parking Clean Friendly staff Really good breakfast Small room (not that big of a deal though) Slightly weird smell Bed/pillows weren't that comfortable Remote control didn't work
Reasonable price, cheap place to stay in S D. Area around hotel not too bad, seems safe enough. Bathroom was clean and in good shape, bed was clean and comfortable. It was quiet at night. Would stay here again for the price Inside facilities showing it's age. Carpeting, furniture showing wear and tear. Small rooms w too much furniture in them. Driveway entrance, parking lot is a little tight space wise. Don't expect a nice view.
The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was a nice way to start the day. Friendly, helpful staff. I always stay at Super 8 - consistent in quality.
It was an adequate place to sleep while exploring SD
Staff very helpful, they still had breakfast available in the last half hour. I'd like to see a guide for TV channels. TV was blurry and needs some improvements
There was cable and it was close to the gas lamp district/convention center Very dirty rooms. Carpet had not been vacuumed. My BF walked around the carpet after a shower and his feet were turning a black color like he had been walking outside. Comforter had stains, white stains (don't even want to know) and weird gray stains. Tub had hair inside and other small debris. The inside of the coffee machine was dirty as well. When I opened the ice bucket, a fly flew out and it bugged us all evening cuz we couldn't catch it. The tv didn't work when we just got in and the guy who fixed it barely said a word to us. After leaving the room for a few hours to get dinner and coming back and deciding it was too dirty to stay in, the people at the front desk said there was nothing they could do about it. No room change or discount/refund (it was over 200$ for a one night stay). will not be staying again
We got there, slept, and left. It was really good for sleeping in and leaving from. The TV didn't have an HDMI port so we couldn't Chromecast movie musicals to it. It made me cry almost as hard as the movie musicals would have.
Easy access to where we needed to be. Breakfast room extremely crowded. Our room had a distinct order as if something was sprayed in room to mask an unclean room. Air conditioner needed a thorough cleaning.
The room was clean; no complaints about service. Parking is extremely limited at night.
I was a little bit skeptical about booking a Super 8, but it turned out to be the nicest motel I've ever stayed at. The room was small but I didn't care since we were just a couple and we just needed a place to sleep. I was definitely impressed by how clean the room was and how friendly the staff also was! I will definitely try to book here the next time I'm in San Diego.
The room was small but had a mini-refrigerator and a microwave + coffee maker. The location is convenient to all area highways, very easy to get anywhere. The staff is nice and the room service s doing their best considering how badly the rooms need repairs Getting in and out of the property is super-awkward, the driveway is tiny and very easy to miss. The elevator looks like the one in the public parking garage. The rooms are tiny and the walls are paper-thin, you will hear each word your neighbours (or their TV) say. Light switches in the bathroom were half broken and the fan sounded like a jet on takeoff.
It was very clean and well decorated; which gave it a modern feel.
Staff was polite They gave me a room near the elevator on 2nd floor despite my advance request for upper floor. Had a view of a wall & roof! No safety box for my laptop. Pipe noise occasionally. It was priced well but I'd rather pay slightly more for better place next time
Location was very convenient with easy access to freeways and close to all the sites. The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly and the beds are comfortable.
Too expensive for what was offered Front desk least helpful (I had problem with WiFi and front desk immediately said my device is problematic, without any investigation). WiFi was horrible. I feel the hotel is misleading in that WiFi is not free, as that is horrible. So you have to purchase paid WiFi!!!! Chairs don't go up and down on press of the lever. Hardly any options in the Bistro. No room delivery during the day. Never coming back unless I don't have a choice.
They did NOT have the room available when I arrived for check in. This was an AWFUL experience as I was traveling with children and an elderly person with no bed for them.....
having to pay $20 per night for parking was not a nice surprise at check out
I didn't like that I had to pay for parking. I mean I'm spending good money already just by staying there. Why do I also have to pay to park my car in the hotel.
The toilet doesn't work well, and the bathroom is a bit horrible. My first time to live this kind of hotel, but also would be last time...
It was convenient to use their business center, service was great, staff was friendly, beds were extremely comfortable. Room was clean and had modern decor. Would definitely stay again, although comparing this to other city and beach hotels in this range, pricing for this room should be less, especially if parking is $10/nt.
Right of the freeway so it was easy find and close to restaurants.. $20 per night charge for parking, no microwave in room, the room we had was very small and near the stairway so we could hear the foot traffic thought it the night. TV control had a significant lag. One set of elevators was old and dirty.
Nice facility and it was Clean Entire Building was stuffy. We stayed on presidents weekend( also Valentine's Day) and staffing was not adequate to serve many many guests.
This place looks great!!! looks like it was just opened yesterday everything is brand new and looks amazing !! Definitely has the new features of a hotel and great lounging area. Reggio was also great! Key required to get up the elevator
If you rent a car, the location is perfect, giving you easy access to everywhere in the San Diego vicinity. Except at the heaviest traffic times, everything is less than 25 minutes away by car. I can see not having a car being an issue, and I'm not sure how convenient Uber or Lyft is in the city. The hotel was very modern with a large lobby area complete with large tables that have multiple ports for your laptop or tablets. There is a really nice fireplace with 6-7 TVs and multiple seats that are somewhat outdoors and overlooks the pool. They had multiple sports games on at once. The rooms are new, clean, and while they have a basic design, they include a mini-fridge and a microwave, which a lot of "nicer" hotels are lacking. There is also the standard Holiday Inn Express breakfast included, which is nothing special but still a very nice feature. Unless you absolutely need to be in the Gaslamp Quarter or within walking distance of a particular place, I would highly recommend this hotel. I'm sure this is a standard San Diego policy but the hotel charges 18 dollars a day for parking on site. I saw that in the gaslamp quarter these prices were closer to $35 dollars a night. Just keep that in mind if you are on a budget. That being said, our car rental was very reasonable ($110 for a full size car x 4 days) and I still think its worth having your own car as the sights to see in San Diego are very spread apart.
It was in San Diego! So tried not to spend too much time inside the room. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The front desk staff were helpful and pleasant. Terrible Internet connection in my room - though wifi was free. Bad location - stranded on the side of a highway, where only food option is the hotel's restaurant, which consistently served the average & overpriced food at room temperature. Restaurant staff was disorganized and not helpful - waited for my check for half an hour every time. Smelled musty/smoky - just older and kind of run down place Poor water pressure in the shower
Location is close to everything. It's a great middle point for a lot of the downtown, Point Loma, Beach, Zoo, Trendy bars and restaurants. Fridge in the room Was given 2 double beds for a romantic weekend. They didn't have any queens. Bathrooms are tiny and literally have no counter space. Walls are paper thin. I could hear the room next to us at 3am having sex as clear as day. For $150 a night, I don't expect the Taj Mahal, but I expect to have privacy and not hear these things.
I liked all the amenities. There was a hair salon, aa bar and other shopping inside the hotel. Bed was really comfortable and it was a beautiful room. The bar closed to early as well as the munchie shop in the main lobby.
check-in and check out was smooth and done in quick order. Room was clean and well furnished Pool area, jacuzzi and fitness room clean and good presentation. Best point was there were no "hidden" charge on bill, i.e., safe in room, mini-bar, etc., when checking out nothing
Beds were comfortable. Air conditioner in each room worked well. Staff were friendly, and was able to check in early. Food was okay. The room smelled of mildew. One banquet the grapes were moldly.
The manager was nice and treated us to breakfast for all our unconvince at the end of our trip Nothing in the room was working... Fridge was hot, toilet sink was clogged, and shower head was broken. The room is wayyyyy smaller than it looks in picture, it was very rowdy in there as there was a motorcycle club there and they were outside by the pool extremely loud and hotel did nothing about it. Would not stay there again.
The location it was by everything and they gave us a free shuttle service to SeaWorld and back The fees 250 deposit for pets 25 a day for pet 12 a day for parking if they would let you know up front about the fees instead of after you already booked it .then its to late you have to pay cause the room non refundable.
Convenient location Rooms are ok but could use an upgrade
We arrived late at night and left early for a flight. For our purpose it was great.
Everything was very clean. Past reviews about hookers are not true. I didn't see any. Id stay there again Nothing
It was quiet and relaxing NA
I'm really the people in the office were amazing and accommodating me because I wasn't able to go up the steps because of the surgery. It's not your old Vagabond Hotel anymore. :-) The updates were really nice In the room. . The shower had hairs in it and there's a big stain on the carpet in the room. Also waking up in the middle of the night to that woman's face is kind of scary. The bed was so hard the pillows. There should be a free breakfast bar in the office area.
There is nothing in particular that be considered as a really positive point for this hotel. The only thing I would go for is that it was clean enough. The stuff were not at all welcoming or friendly. By the time I wanted to check in, I was really surprised! Because of my work, I travel a lot and stayed in so many hotels around the world. This hotel was by far the worst choice of my life. You can find pretty much better hotels nearby with the same quality and price and there is absolutely no point to stay in this hotel. The hotel will charge you extra for the safe box in the room and they do not even inform you of this in advance. So be aware of their trick! I made a complaint after my stay and got part of the money back. Found no soap in the room on my arrival. The highway nearby is quite noisy, poor breakfast beside having no place to eat, you have to take it to your room!
Exceeded my expectations for a budget priced accomodation close to a convention and/or conference center no
It is a nice motel and very clean. The breakfast was nice with good quality food. The clerk on duty was not very friendly at all and was not very helpful. He gave the impression that he was only there to fill in his required time. However, the other clerk was quite helpful.
Free parking, clean room, good location. The breakfast was limited and you had to take it back to your room to eat.
The hotel lolled quaint , reatively clean , rooms looked nice for the price A/c in room did not blow cold air , was not properly maintained a/c unit was on all night & never got room cool. The room was extremely HUMID & very uncomfortable & We were not able to sleep due to the humidity. This hotel deserves 1 star due to poor maintenance
I really enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a lot of road construction in front of the hotel which made it difficult to get in and out. Parking lot was extremely small and parking was an issue.
We were made welcome, even offered the manager's parking spot. Good advice on places to eat. Excellent waffles at breakfast. Things got a little crowded in reception at breakfast time.
the waffle breakfast the parking
Great price, good location, check out the hash house go go best food!!! only 4 min away, it's near old town, 5min from sea world real close to everything, Well there are three locations I guess and I ended up at a different one but loved it, I was in the hotel ciricle right off the 8 near the 5. Room had a fridge (worked great) microwave, a little coffee make-neeed more coffee. room clean, water pressure was AWESOME!!! seem recently painted, bed was nice and soft but not to soft. Over all very good. Confusion of where the hotel is that you purchase, not too many parking spaces, and the construction in the back for a new hotel, but it didn't bother me.
We liked the very large comfortable room, the kitchen and the two TV's. The bathroom was also a very good size.
We liked the free parking, free wi-fi and the hugh, very clean suite as well as the free hot breakfast. The key was missing from the safe in our room. Despite daily reminders, the key was still missing throughout our stay. Also, the availability of breakfast items was sporadic. On our first day, everything in the breakfast room was available. On the second day, the waffle griddle was broken and there was no yogurt. On the third day add to the list: there was no regular coffee. On our last day all the above plus 'coffee maker broken' and no juices. This despite our feedback to the front desk each day.
Rooms were very large and well equipped. Clean. Creaking noise from upstairs was heard in our room. No king-size beds in any room.
We had a very nice stay. Our rooms were very spacious and clean. We enjoyed ourselves very much. The breakfast room was delightful. We most certainly will stay there again. The only down side to the hotel is the fact that there is not a swimming pool. It would of been nice to have one for our down time.
The location was central to the San Diego area.. The staff was friendly and helpful and the suite was large. The towels were frayed and the chairs for the dining area were dirty.
the room was larger than expected, plenty of space, vaulted ceilings, flat screen tv in living room. the hotel staff was rude and unprofessional, breakfast was not that great. Eggs tasted like they were cooked 8 hours ago, dried out, the only fruit was canned mixed fruit which was full of sugar. i wish they had some bananas or apples or something.
- I liked the suite size (2 bedrooms and aliving room); I also liked the mountain view from the master room. Little improvement is needed for the breakfast, and to should be extended tp 10 am rather than 9.
Excellent service, time share type suite. We only stayed 1 night on business trip.
Great Staff, especially Robert and Dee and the desk. On top of everything, courteous, pleasant, well informed. Robert goes out of his way to be the very best at his job. If I knew he was at the desk, I would return anytime. Our room was comfortable and roomy albeit a bit dated. Unfortunately, I had the displeasure to listen to one of the owners talking loudly in the office while I was waiting at the desk. It is clear that the owner has no understanding of employment law, or good long term business thinking. His plan seemed to be to more concerned with cutting costs by taking unfair advantage of his excellent housekeeping staff and employees and probably violating California labor law. This is a hotel that is great and has even greater potential, but I can only recommend it with reservations because of the cavalier nature of the person in charge. Add value in business, treat your employees fairly, generously, and with respect, run the hotel like it is the best, and strive to be better. Then this would be great.
Very friendly staff Breakfast was very poor and dirty in a small room; most important thing looked as to make you leave as quickly as possible.Quality of safa bed was average; how coulr it be possible to stay with more than 4 people ?
