The room was clean, bed was comfortable, bathrooms pretty well maintained, pleasant staff. Basic breakfast but I guess that is standard for hostels, at least it was something. Not too far from public transportation. HI San Diego took care of my needs while I was checking out the city for a couple days. More counter space in the bathrooms would be nice. Several of my toiletries fell in the sink/on the floor because there is not much room for a girl to spread out her things. Also their power source is weak or something. I had to sit around and wait forever for my phone to charge at the end of each day and I tried several outlets in the building. It would have been nice to have an outlet by my bed so I could charge overnight.
Great location, right in the heart of downtown. It was a block away from a CVS and close to other grocery stores. Extremely close to the Padre's baseball stadium and about a mile or two away from the USS Midway. For the price and location it can't be beat. I chose a shared room with 4 other guys. Our window faced the street. I don't drink alcohol so it was a little hard to get some sleep. We either had the window closed to help muffle the noise and were really hot, or we had the window open and had a lot of outside noise.
I like it on general, their breakfast was nice and the staff is pretty helpful and nice Did not like the the soap and the room location only it's not facing the street
Staff was nice but unprofessional, I shared a room with 5 homeless men. Upon arrival, room had foul stench and there was no mattress on the bed, simply a foam mattress topper, no more than 2 inches thick. Pillow was comparable to a bag with a newspaper stuffed into it. Overall not an ideal place, very loud and filthy. White bed frames were full of dirt and questionable stains. Bathrooms were small and not cleaned enough for their mass use. After, reluctantly falling asleep I woke up in the middle of the night to itching and several bug bites, only to find small bugs in my sheets. I can not say for sure that they were bed bugs, but regardless they left welt sized bites along the side of my stomach. Overall, horrible experience I left less than 3 hours after arriving and opted to sleep in my car for the rest of my stay in San Diego. Having stayed in hostels abroad in europe and asia, the Hostel Habibi would more accurately be described as a homeless youth shelter. Upon trying to request a refund, I was referred to my booking website, whom upon calling the hotel was told that they wouldn't refund me for the rest of my stay. Steer Clear of Hostel Habibi
location the carpet was dirty
The nice location in the city (downtown, very close to public transport/Airport) and the definetely the price. It was quite packed in the small room with 4 people. Although it it could be somehow expected the pictures on the net are a little bit misleading.
Good staff, clean rooms and bathrooms, well located if you are staying Down-town or heading to San Diegos Convention Center and you are not in a rush No heating, even cold in May-June. Bit noisy because of the room's and bathroom's door-closing mechanism.
nothing al all the room was 5*8 square feet and the bathrooms were 14 between 60 rooms so it's disgusting it's better to be animals place more than human . thanks
Nothing I only wanted to use the shower after a morning at the beach. I was getting ready for a meeting later. I could not find anyone to check in with, so I went to find the bathroom. The shower had a urinal in it that was filled will pee! The sink had a tampon floating in it. I left and didn't use or touch anything.
