Rooms are big, very comfortable beds and plenty of amenities to choose from. Overall a pleasant experience Inroom dining needs more variety. Mini bar items are overly priced by atleast 100 to 200 rs each. Biggest down part was breakfast timings. Breakfast ended each day at 10 am where as most of the 5 star hotels provide breakfast till 1030 on weekdays and 11 am on weekends

We Come to Hotel at 2.AM Because of Flight Dlayed. At the Reciption Desk the person who did Checked in Our Family was so nice and upgraded to Club Room That was so Nice of him and walked us to our Room. Thanks to all Staff it was Great Stay there.
It' s a comfortable hotel with all the facilities within Connaught Place area. Nice room, good bed. The direct environment of the hotel is not so appealing, for instance to take a walk to the shopping-area. It remains a 5* hotel in India.... service not always too adequate (took very long to check me in, gave me smoking-room at frist, where I asked for non-sm, forgot to give me back my credit-card, lacks service around the poolarea) . Restaurants could use an update (except coffee-shop).

Ruins the impression of the hotel early in the stay. AUTOMATICALLY CHARGING PAYMENTS ON FOREIGN CARDS IN THEIR HOME CURRENCY, NOT RUPEES AS PER THE BILL This happened in the bars and restaraunts each time we visited. Having used their own exchange rate to heighten the true cost they were unable to cancel and repeat the transaction correctly. Hotel hasn't realised that a concierge in a 5 star hotel is mainly there to help the guests with advice and logistics usimg their local knowledge. Insisting that they can only sell a hotel service and not advise on anything else is no use to guests.
The Lobby 1. Waiters in the 24 hour restaurant were very rude, didn't know what good service was. That's because TIP is automatically included in the bill, so they didn't care to provide good service. 2. sheets were dirty and the bathroom was not cleaned properly. 3. Food was way overpriced.

We got a room with a connecting dor to another room with no insulation and the sounds from the other room disturbed us. We could not get it fixed by the staff. The breakfast that we got when leaving early was a joke and insulting.
We are non-smokers and we were given a smoking room first (I did not mention while booking). They quickly changed the room to a non-smoking room after we asked for it. It was very quick and easy process. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. They bring bottled water at least twice a day, which was great. After our check out, we asked for a taxi with a meter to take us to New Delhi train station. We got on the taxi and left the hotel. Then we realized that the driver did not start the meter. We asked him to open it but driver made excuses like it is not working, we don't need it, etc. And he took 300 rupee for 10 min. drive. We were very clear on that we wanted a taxi with meter, and the taxi driver that the hotel is working with was not willing to use it. What we expect from a 5 star hotel is trust. I should be able to trust the services they provide and this includes the people they work with. What happened is something normal in Delhi but I was disappointed because the hotel I trusted assigned us to someone not trustworthy.

The Metropolitan Hotel is dated. We were actually a bit disappointed. The shops were not open at convenient times for those who were out on day trips. Internet was available but not for free. Too bad. We missed that convenience.

Location was perfect--nice and quiet, but close to shopping and metro. Great breakfast with a huge variety. Wi-fi was not included. Taxi drivers on hotel property that would hound you when you left.

there was an old room on 10 floor, and hopefully they quickly managed to change for a room on 9 floor which is much better one. So I think their service is good. It looks very well in the lobby, also rooms are well designed, but the landing is always a little bit smelly and dark.
Teh staff is very friendly and willing to help. The facilities are quite good as well. We tried out both Café Uno restaurant and the Oriental restaurant and enjoyed both. The rooms were clean but they did not smell very good.
The room was very clean and well appointed. Staff are extremely friendly. They are on the whole quite junior and sometimes seem to be feeling their way around their jobs, but their effort at being helpful and polite is always apparent.

We cannot say enough positive things about our stay at the Shangri-La in Delhi. The staff was so kind through and through. In particular the bellhop Robert was crucially helpful to us when we were working through logistics to get a lot of luggage on our airplane. He also referred us to Jassray, their Airport Manager, who helped us a great deal in getting our luggage through. Their concierge also helped us track package deliveries, even before we had checked in. Everyone on the staff was so kind and the service was first class, as well as the amenities in the hotel. We are only going to stay in Shangri-Las after this experience!
The comfort and commodities offered by the hotel are excellent. The location right in the centre of New Delhi is also very good.
Comfortable rooms and really helpful staff. The swimming pool on the roof was simply great. The booking conditions stated I only had to pay 15%vat extra. However, the price given at booking.com does not include Luxury tax and Room service tax, applicable to such hotels. The amount of taxes I actually paid was more like 25%. The early check-in procedure took about 20 minutes

I am a global traveler and spend a good amount of time in hotels. This got to be one of the worst Hotels I have seen anywhere across the globe. Five Star rating for this Hotel is a joke. To name a few terrible experiences at this place: 1) I was put up on the 5th floor. As soon as you step out of elevator you get a pungent and nauseating smell due to ongoing construction/painting activity. I am surprised that they put guests on this floor. 2) Shoddy and cheap rooms. I am sorry to say this but the fact is you do not see quality anywhere. There were stains on sheets. Blankets were terrible and I was afraid to even touch them. 3) Unprofessional staff both at main entrance and front desk checkin. At main front entrance, unprofessional staff swarm you every time you step in or out of building and I have noticed staff arguing among themselves in front of guests. 4) Lack of Rest Rooms (Bath Rooms) in common areas. There is only one small rest room in main reception checkin and restaurant area. Bottom line avoid this Hotel at all costs.
Unless you book a suite the rooms at the Royal Plaza are super small and very uncomfortable. However, they do have a very nice breakfast buffet with a variety of foods. Wifi is not free and can be purchased in increments of two hours to 24 hours. However, once purchased, we experienced a consistent spotty wifi connection that was super slow. It was extremely annoying because we had travelled to India from the United States and needed wifi badly to do a few things on our smart phones that took super long to get done because the wifi is just too slow and spotty. When we asked about the slow wifi we were told that we could use the computers in the business center. We went there, of course had to pay them in rupees despite already paid for wifi and found that computers were preset to India. Everything was in rupees and all the web pages defaulted to the India version. So that didn't work out. Additionally, our room key stopped working eight times during our one week stay there. It was so annoying to have to go all the way back to the lobby to get it re-coded. The staff there are like zombies. No one smiles, they all seem annoyed and frustrated and have this slight arrogance about themselves. It's like ugh.

It was clean and a very nice hotel at a reasonable price. It is also right next to the airport which I found to be very helpful. While it was away from the busy streets of Delhi, it was a short can ride away with less traffic than when I stayed in the heart of the city. They're room service food was pretty good as well. They're breakfast buffet was rather expensive and not very good. Given you are a bit far away from everything else, there aren't many food options so eating there is the only real option.

Location!! After my booking, Hyatt was trying to overcharge me despite what i received in the confirmation (Thanks God i kept a copy of it). When i raised the question for the overcharge, they tried to lie and after 10 minutes of argument, they adjusted the bill but they made it sound like they did me a favor. I also did not receive any perks despite my Hyatt Platinum status.

Check in staff was friendly. Amenities in the room were top notch. Restaurant for dinner had excellent choices. Best grill restaurant in Delhi and excellent wine selection too. Lady at the coutesy area was absolutely rude and obnoxious on the day I checked in. Breakfast quality was one star with lousy quality orange juice for a luxury collection property. Smoked salmon was of the worst possible quality

Service and location are excellent. A bit dated, but good service. Omelette in the Club lounge was terrific but staff was stretched too thin. Our main issue is that the hotel needs a major update, even though existing old facilities still are well maintained and retain charm. The service was very good. Its still a race between the Taj and the Leela Palace, but the the Leela feels more up to date.

I stayed with my wife for two nights at this hotel, the rooms were small but nicely done and clean, but the shower stand was too shallow leaving water on the bathroom floor after every use. The hotel front desk was not the friendliest, and do need some training in customer relations. The restaurant was okay not great, but there are plenty of options available nearby. Overall I would say this is more business kind of hotel but will give you a decent stay.
