The room and the bed were comfortable once we had a second armchair. There was a good range of television channels for non-Portuguese speakers. The shower was good.Good fresh fruit at breakfast most days. The wardrobe smelt (of stale tobacco?) so that all our clothes needed washing once home. We had asked for a room with a pleasant view, our balcony was in a corner looking towards hotel buildings. The information about golf courses was confused and varied according to the member of staff on duty.
location reception area was nice but ovearall the hotel bedrooms could do with a makeover, they are very basic for the money.
I liked the comfort, the good location, its fine breakfast, free Internet and indoors swimming pool No complaints whatsoever.
Very nice facilities, Staff friendly and accommodations were very comfortable. The Wifi was awful!
Location Bed is too firm
Large, quiet room, close to town, shopping and restaurants. Very good buffet breakfast each morning and happy hour in the bar every evening. The beach club was also great.
very relaxing nothing
The ambiance in the hotel is very nice. The price was excellent and the staff was very helpful. Nice fitness area and pools. Tha I had to pay to use the fitness room.
Excellent low season value, beautiful hotel & convenient spot. Best breakfast ever. They forgot my wake up call the last night.
Air con, pool, breakfast Uncomfortable beds, rooms outdated and shabby, not really 4star in my opinion and very expensive for what you get, though I realise it's high season
The location was good -- close to city center and bus station for day trips. The room was a good size. The bathroom was very small and it was not very clean.
Fantastic breakfast, very quiet out of season and pool/loungers wonderful. Right near the beautiful beach and rooms with a sea view well worth the extra cost (rooms at the back were really unappealing). The indoor pool cost extra, the decor (the pictures) in the main lobby were odd & unattractive (I did not like the 'fashion' theme). The spa/indoor pool was ok in design/atmosphere but not lovely and very small for number of potential guests to use it.
Very nice swimming pool They charged 7.50 euros extra for the room service (we ordered a tosta mixta of 5.50 euros) by mistake. They forgot to make the room, and when we got to the room at 8pm we had to tell and they didn´t like it at all because it was too late. Poor service. 10 min far from the beach.
Clean, commy, friendly staff, great location, excellent value for money. attentative to detail. Fantastic weekend break
Hotel very modern, newly built. Lovely grounds. Very suitable for families although great for couples too. Strawberry daiquiri in the bar the best in the world. Also spa therapists are very professional.
The hotel staff was really nice and helpful. The hotel is new, but a little bit hard to find even with a gps. Had nice dinner, not expensive, buffet, had good choice. Sound isolation is yet to improve, very slow internet in the public area, no wifi in the rooms.
nice modern hotel with splendid swimming pool, close from beach, big room slow internet even we paid for this
the hotel was bright modern and very clean. we were in room 2066. it was above the kitchens . it was impossible to sleep befor midnight when the noise stopped. if i had been staying longer i would have asked to be moved.
I liked the modern design. All of the help were very polite and friendly. The rooms were every bit up to my satisfaction
its nearnest to the sea.pool area very clean and steps made accessto pool very easy for everyone. did not like the foyer too large and bare.
The pool area was like paradise, maia praia was just a few minutes walk away, good location to the town, drinks and food were very reasonable, ample parking, and the hotel itself is very stylish!
Friendly staff. Good selection of breakfast foods. Cleanliness and facilities were really good.
location is excellent for town car parking arrangements were a bit difficult
The hotel was reasonable and the room decent, offered a good breakfast and free internet, and was close to the town.
food and cleanliness, helpful staff faces busy road and market on saturday which was very noisy at 5am
Clean, comfortable rooms and excellent staff. Great breakfast. No
Clean, comfortable, very helpful staff, wonderful breakfast, loved the heated swimming pool as the weather was cool. Good situation, room overlooking the harbour, within walking distance of the old town. Nothing we didn't like.
This was our third time staying in the Hotel this year. It is very convenient to the town, restaurants and a short walk to the beach. The staff are very friendly even providing a breakfast before a 0315 departure. The front rooms have a small balcony from where you can view the boats entering and leaving the Marina. None
The hotel was very clean, the staff very helpful.
Location and facilities excellent. Breakfast fresh & varied
For what we pay it's good enough. It's really well located, right on the center of Lagos. Everything was really clean. And we a great view from our room. The guard at night was really nice. The mattress could be in better state. It wasn't very comfortable. The person working on the frontdesk during the day could be nicer. When we checked out he didn't even ask us if we were satisfied or if we liked our stay. These small details that could make a difference.
Central location. Although a big minus that there is no access by car (the hotel is located in the pedestrian area). I think this should be mentioned on the web-site in the description of the hotel. The rooms and the furniture are quite worn out, although clean. The breakfast is very poor. The area is noisy even in the night and the noise- protection of the rooms is not sufficient
Central location, clean rooms, affordable price The breakfast was nothing to write home about
Excellent hotel location - on a street full of restaurants, shops and bars. Hotel was very quiet, cosy and clean. The staff was extremely nice. Breakfast was sufficient. Parking is impossible near hotel, but it wasn't big problem. We left the car 10 minutes away from hotel. Bed was not very good.
Helpful, extremely friendly staff; excellent position in the very heart of the town; my room facing the marina was quiet The room could receive a general refit, but for the price there's nothing to complain about and it has some atmosphere
Very near the ocean and in the middle of old city where all the action happens.Good restaurant just opposite Pensao Breakfast.
Lovely little pension right in city center close to all the bars and restaurants... Also close to the beach Not that I didn't like it, but there's no elevator for people who need one
very nice and clean place, friendly staff, always ready to help you. Excellent location on the main street of the village but close to the beach. I really appreciated the fact that the hotel provides umbrellas for free.. you just pick up one in the morning and then return it when you come back from the beach. The only thing that should be improved is breakfast: juice is not good, it's a mixture of water and powder and there is nothing salty to eat.. only bread , a small croissant and some butter, marmalade or honey to spread on. In spite of this, I would strongly recommend this hotel, it's the cheapest one you can find and the services you get are more than enough!
excellent location and very helpful with info on area
Great location, staff(extremely helpful/caring), breakfast, facilities(rooms/decor/internet) for budget pricing. Noisy neighbours.
Good position, near to Lagos center and the beaches. Nice atmosphere, swimming-pools, good breakfast-buffet.
the "indoor swimming pool" is actually an outdoor pool with some sort of cover over the water... you can't use it in cool weather as you would expect from a proper indoor pool
Very picturesque, clean, quiet and easily accessible (not loads of steps and long corridors to content with). Reception staff were very friendly and helpful and took us personally to our room when we checked in rather than just wave us in the general direction which was a nice touch. It was a nice start to the day to eat breakfast on the leafy veranda by the pool in the sun before wondering down to the D'Ana beach which was a 10 minute walk and was absolutely gorgous. The complex seemed very well maintained and our room was always very clean when we returned from the beach each evening. Waiting staff in the morning could be slow to clear the tables and it was not busy during the period we stayed there. Also, on occasions, some of the breakfast would be gone and not replenished even though there was still another 30 mins of breakfast and staff could be difficult to find to address this.
I like very nice designed rooms and very good breakfast bufet The staff of hotel deklare about Wi-fi internet, but it didn,t work often.
in a quite area and located close to beautiful beaches
Excellent breakfast even with champagne. Indoor heated pool when cold. Very friendly staff. Slightly far away from the town, about 20 minutes walking. To get to the very small beach you have to clamber the stairways.
Loveley place to have a relaxing holiday Clotch to wipe the bench would be appriciated in kitchen
Our room was located far away from central part of hotel with more 10 other rooms. It took us about 10-15 minutes to get to breakfast or reception. This was very, very uncomfortable. Beach was same about 10-15 min .. Room design was far from 4 starts hotel , i would say 3 stars.. very simple. Room was cleaned only at 16:00 .. to conclude , the hotel was very far from expectations we had...
Pleasant environment with nice grounds and and pools. Within walking distance of restaurants in old town.Good breakfast selection and facilities.
very good size studio villa, excellent breakfast, near the town and beaches.
The location of the hotel is good, easy to find with car and they have a garage!!! The room was big enough, clean, and with a nice balcony; so really good.
The staff were very friendly and were prepared to deal with requests and problems as they arose. Rooms could be accessed throughout the day which is not always the case. Having used the hotel over the past 5 years the withdrawal of beakers in the bathroom and the "do not disturb" cards was disappointing.
The staff were nice, it was close to town and it had a garage
Good balcony The breakfast room was small, and the quality and quantity of the food was poor. The noise isolation of the room was not the best (you can hear the guest movement in the building, like door opening and closing)
The hotel was about the cheapest in Lagos. Very dated hotel. Ac didn't really work. Breakfast was about the worse I've ever seen. I was only staying one night so could see the humor in the situation.
Access to staff.
the location is very good. rooms - bed sheets were smaller than the bed, so was pretty disgusting touching the mattress during the night. Hotel staff were not very helpful and poor breakfast
good location - near the most beautiful beaches noisy street
friendly staff, but the picture on tv in our room 213, was distorted.
the hotel was very good situated in the heart of lagos, with easy acces to beaches and old town the breakfast was too poor, the hotel was very noisy in the period that i"ve stayed
The manager offered us a room in their other hotel, Dom Manuel, for the same price as Villa d Dinis. It was beautiful. Tiles, wood, Grecian swimming pool, large curved room with a balcony and sea plus pool views. 7 mins walk to the centre, 3 mins drive to Praia Donna Ana. Very helpful staff. It was the best hotel we had in Portugal and a superb bargain. There seemed to be only one other room taken so it was extremely quiet. We found this everywhere we went in the Algarve in mid-November. A fabulous time to visit Portugal. We practically had the beaches to ourselves and it was still warm enough to swim everyday (although we are hardy Kiwis). Only downside was that there was no hot water in our room and the toilet kept running. If we had of told the manager before we left we're sure he would have sorted it out for us though. Would definitely stay there again.
The relaxing environment and very friendly staff along with the lovely surroundings.
The receptionist Rita was very welcoming & helpful . The location is very pleasant ,ideal for pleasant walks & near beach. It was also good to have internet access.
Friendly and accomodating staff , well situated quiet area but close too amenities well designed No12 was fabulous Mix up about airport pick up - to do with car company not them.
The hotel employees were all extremely friendly and helpful. Very good rooms, which are very roomy and well equipped. Nice pool and nice garden. Coffee and tea should be made available in the rooms.
The owner and his staff were extremely helpful and we were given a choice of apartment at no extra cost. Safety deposit boxes were also free. All round it was great value for money. It is in a peaceful residential setting but only 5 minutes from the beach and 15 minutes to the town centre. We will certainly return here again in the future. Everything was perfect for our needs.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, he even offered to drive us to the bus station. The rooms were clean and the hotel is cute and charming.
calm atmosphere, no overcrowding, very pretty place having to walk for 15 mins to get breakfast we only did this one morning, then brought in breakfast from the local shop each morning
Very helpful staff, good interesting layout. Position excellent. Good standard of interesting guests. Interesting garden plants. Lemons, oranges and flowers. No grill - I like to cook. No extractor in the toilet. Heated pool would be a bonus. Freezer not cold enough for lollipops
Staff extremely helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend it to others travelling to Lagos. Everything was clean and homey.
Receptionist very pleasant and helpfull. Good quality hotel. Hard to find by car as google map poor and no signage from town
The pool is very nice. The room is large and comfortable. The staff was very rushed to check us in and then basically provide minimal service. We were put in a room on the bottom floor of the hotel despite the fact that there appeared to be several vacant rooms on the upper floors. The hotel staff did not provide us with any information regarding telephone services/costs, internet, hotel services and amenities, etc. when we checked in. This information would have been useful.
Good location near - town center and beach, good price in the end of season. I received birthday greeting from hotel manager :) - hotel cares about clients. Bedroom small, but room and balcony normal size.
It was a winter break so the indoor pool, jacuzzi etc were wonderful. Our free upgrade to a one bed apartment was much appreciated. The kitchen was very well equipped. All the staff were friendly and very helpful, providing lots of local information. The beds were also very comfortable. The sofa was uncomfortable. The noise from the tiled corridors and banging doors was acceptable because the hotel was not full, but in summer this might be more of a problem. The level of lighting was too dim, it was difficult to read after dark.
large airy modern room, not so far from a good supermarket, a nice beach and the city center, great gym (although you must have the necessary clothes and all), well equipped room (despite the cooker which is rubbish) cleaning ladies talked loudly in the corridors, windy in certain areas around the pool, staff not as friendly as you'd hope, useless cooker, the walls are a bit thin and if you're unlucky with your neighbors you won't have a great time...
The location of the hotel was very good - close to Lagos main beach (approx 10 minutes walk) and also close to the old city (approx 10 minutes walk). Our superior family room (in the center part of the building) was very spacious and kitchen well-equipped and had view over the garden pools and a peace of ocean was visible also. The hotel has also inside pool, but keep in mind to buy a cap for that before your trip or you can buy it from where - when it costs almost 10 EUR. Bathtroom welcoming equipments (shampoo, shower gel and body milk) were also very nice and convinient after arriving if you have forgot to bring something. Two things i didnt like. First - one lady at reception, who had vey quickly strange excuses why she didnt put us to upgraded room although lady, whom i was changing e-mails, promised that (because we stayed quite a long and it wasn't summer season anymore). All other employees were very nice. And secondly - the internet, which i bought, was not working properly. I was lucky, because i bought only 2 hours instead of whole week and in the same time not lucky even to use it all, because it was working only in the balcony, not even in the living room on the 4 floor. Still, overall very good apartement hotel and roof terracee with reclining chairs is just super!
Staff were very helpful. We enjoyed the location of the Hotel - close to beaches and not too far from the city centre. We preferred to stay away from the bustle of the Centre, yet be able to walk there. The Hotel is also on the bus and coach routes. We had booked here because the Hotel had an Irish Bar, and good Restuarant. However both were closed the two weeks we were there.
Easy to find. Spacious, modern apt. Type rooms,w/bedroom, living room, and galley kitchenette, large bathroom. Lovely setting, convenient walking location to old towne and beach areas. Rooms appeared newly refurbished
The restaurant and the staff The pool and gym are practically in a dungeon and are only accessible by 1 lift, The hotel in general has a very strange layout. The apartments with the city view do not get much sunlight and are consequently cold. It was very quiet in October midterm break
situation clean. it must be during the morning, it's not good to find cleaning room at 14 or 15 pm
Excellent location and views, stillness and peace, facilities. Very good place for children. It should have room / apartment service (4*). Spanish TV channels not avaliable.
The location near the beach and the view from balcony. The proximity of the pool. The ergonomy of the room. Nice architecture and layout of the villas. Gorgeous landscaping with beautiful exotic trees. The noise from the constructions nearby not so loud if the room faces the ocean. Too far from city center (30 min walking). No way of transportation or pick-up from bus station provided by the hotel. I highly recommend renting a car or motorbike (both cheap compared with other countries) useful for going to other superb beaches on the coast (like Camillo or D. Ana beaches up on the hill).
Very pleasant environment and a beautiful view, especially if you pick a sea side room. Also, the kitchen was very well equiped.
Great location for a beach holiday, great view, many thanks
Cleanliness, location, great view
The pool was really nice. The location was great too, a few meteres from the beach. Our room was pretty standard for the amount of money we paid, it was quite soul-less and there were some ants too. We only ate at the hotel once and it was pretty bad as it had been sitting there for several hours already when we got there and they still charged us the full price.
Very comfortable, lovely view and good to have swimming pool so close although not really swimming weather end October. Would certainly need a car as very little within easy walking distance.
Location and access to Porto Mos Beach were great and views were excellent (we had superior room with sea view). Ample space in the a apartment for a family of 4. Good house cleaning staff. Good price. Nice pool area (although pool too cold to swim); we used the indoor pool. Small kitchen enabled us to prepare some of our meals. Towels were old and frayed. Bedroom door did not close. The jacuzzi did not work the entire time we were there. Would like to have wireless internet access. Staff were efficient but were not overly friendly.
The villas were very nice and comfortable, the pool was beautiful, and the one receptionist we dealt with was extremely helpful and friendly.
The room was excellent. Spacious, modern, very clean and good kitchen. Nice balcony and very good access to D'Ana beach. There was no onsite reception but the staff was very nice. The biggest drawback is the fact that the building is at the outskirts of town and it is a bit of a lonely walk home if you go to town for dinner or shopping at night.
The apartment was modern and had great views very spacious as well
VillaDoris Suites were fantastic. We were so close to the beach and the apartment was lovely. Very new and clean with a great view.
VillaDoris was situated immediately by one of the most gorgeous beachs in Lagos. VillaDoris was not a hotel like we were expecting. They were serviced apartments, whose reception desk was a good 5min walk away. There wasn't much atmosphere at the suites, however they were lovely and well maintained.
Very comfortable, spacious room and bathroom. Well equipped. About 10 to 15mins walk to the city centre and beautiful beaches nearby. Less than 5mins walk.
Excellent location - Short walk into lively Lagos. Quiet resort for its size. Excellent access to beach (5 minutes drive). Good value and wouldgo back.
location, spacious apartment
great facilities, clean, wel looked after pool was very cold especially for young children
Spacious rooms, great view, proximity to shops and restaurants. Minor but no soap provided and shower gel not replaced after use.
Nice big room , quiet, good location, nice pool, overall very good. The price of the spa/gym was too high.
Lovely hotel, modern furnishing and well equiped modern kitchen. Apartment was luxurious, over looking marina and swimming pool.Easy access to Marina and town I liked every thing
The location was excellent beside railway station, beach and bars and restaurants. The rooms were spacious and clean. The surrounding restuarants were all very good. No
It was a lovely clean, quiet hotel. The apartment was well stocked with utensils for cooking. Very relaxing atmosphere. Pool was gorgeous along with the surrounding outside area. When we checked in, we were not told about the facilities eg. Towels to use by the pool. Disgrace that you had to pay €10 to use the gym. The barman seemed to be on comission always asking why I only wanted a glass of beer rather than a pint everytime!
The bed was so unbelievably hard that I had a sore shoulder and back the following day.... probably would never stay here again for this reason.
Large spacious apartment, with lovely view of marina and pool. Close to town. Nice buffet breakfast. Kitchen did not have all the essential items ie dish cloth, washing liqid and wine glasses. It would have been nice if the indoor pool and facitlites were included in the price of the room (10 Euro pp!) Not enough sheets/towels were provided.
It was great especially considering the low price in the off season. Staff were very helpful.
We visited Giramar during the "off season" in the month of October. The rates were unbelieveable at only 100euro for a two bedroom apartment for two nights. We reserved two apartments for 5 women. The apartment was very clean, and spacious. Once we figured out what direction to head in, the walk to the old section/downtown lagos was only a 15 minute walk. I would highly recommend this place to a friend! Absolutely nothing. Would definitely stay here again for the value!!!
Very clean spacious apartment. excellent kitchen No view at all from balcony because situated on ground floor. 1st floor apartment have views of pool.
Excellent value. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and could not believe the price as it was so good. The facilities in the apt were great (big fridge, washing machine, VCR, kitchen) and it was roomy. All rooms look out onto the lovely pool. Yes, it's 3 star but I have never stayed in a better valued 3 star. Lovely atmosphere. A supermarket 2 minutes walk. It is a bit out of the Centro part but if you have a car or don't mind a stroll, it's not so far into town (about 15 mins). There are good restaurants around Giramir. Parking is free at Giramir. As I said, for a 3 star, I can't fault it. It was so clean. Great for a family of 4. Airconditioners were there (we didn't need them - October) in every room. Pillows are a little lumpy. Remember your hairdryer (if you like one). Sofa bed needs attention if you need it.
The 2 bedroom apartment was completely new, very well equipped. There were 2 balconies, view to the swimming pool. It was amazing and very cheap.
This was the best deal of our vacation. We had a large suite for 3 adults but it was big enough for 5. The facilities were excellent. We had 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, a living room and bathroom for 50 euros a night. There was a restaurant, and pool. It was a short distance from the downtown area and the beaches. Highly recommended!
Great location and nice, very helpful personnel. Warm bread rolls at the breakfast. The hotel has the potential to become a good hotel. However, it does not succeed in it. there are little things, which could improve the whole picture substantially: such as: some fresh fruit at breakfast, cleaner area around the pool, more drinks at the bar, ashtrays.... details... but according to the price, you cannot expect a lot.
It's not a five star hotel but for 50€/night, it's worth it because it's well located with a beautiful view on the seaside. The persons at the reception are also very pleasant, the man gave us an excellent fish restaurant address. Ask for it !
Perfect location close to beautiful beaches. A perfect hotel for budget traveling and for people who don´t mind a 15 minutes walk into town. Rooms were basic, but new, clean and comfortable!
very good lokation, - near the ocean :) very beutiful.
Very close to Praia da Ana, Praia do Camillo and an easy walk into town. Great value for the money. WIFI was horrible.
perfect location, calm site, sea view, cleanness, friendly staff, good value for money. poor internet access.
The service was really nice. I left some staff in the wardrobe and it was no problem for them to send it me back via post.
The hotel room clean . Great value for money. The pillow was very bad .
The pool, proximity to the beach
The hotel is very close to a nice beach Just the poor quality in general, poor pool, poor rooms, poor service people, poor breakfast,,, all is poor...The staff is not friendly, we had a problem with our room because we couldn´t locked the terrace´s door, wich was very accesible from the street. When we tried to change the room they told us that we could wait until the next day to get another room (and if that night someone broke into our room, they wouldn´t be responsible for anything, of course) or go to a room with NO AIR CONDITIONER!! They were not empathetic at all, the door was broken since a long time ago but they haven´t fixed it yet. The rooms and bathrooms were very old, the breakfast was very poor and in general they didn´t treat us well. I wouldn´t recomend this hotel
The individual units, lovely grounds, own carparking, Olympic size pool. Breakfast good value for money. Friendly staff.
We only booked it for two days and were glad to leave. Dusty and noisy bull dozers next to the swimming pool all day that we had not been warned about. Also we overlooked a half complete derelict building . Boiling hot room at night-no fans or air conditioning and disco music heard until early hours of morning. Had to wait over 2 hours to get into a room that was suppose to be ready at 2 and still wasn't ready at 3.30pm. Finally got in past 5.30pm. Damp sheets;no fan no aircom and hugelyl over priced. For same price could stay at a great 4 star hotel in London. Poor value for money; would not stay again.
It was far enough out of centre to be quiet, but close enough to walk to. Also you did not need to leave the motel as there was everything you required on site. The staff were very polite and made you feel very welcome.
the beach and the roof top terace is so cool the pool was closed, it rained and there were no sponges or cleaning supplies for the dishes which could of never been cleaned!
Great pool, very clean, rooms cleaned daily, great location, very reasonably priced. Building work next door was annoying whilst at the pool. I feel the kitchen could be better equiped, there was no peeler, grater or colinder/sieve.
Just so good value for money and a stunning pool! Yes, no english tv!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All german chanels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The setting of the accomodation, the cleanliness and they have done a really good job with the refurbishment as the rooms were looking a bit tired, but now look really good.
Olympic size swimming pool, close to Lagos and other sites on the Southern coast of Portugal. Great place to relax.
The olympic size pool is fanastic. Pedro & Gustav the restuarant staff are very funny & friendly. The location is such you can have a good quiet nights sleep but nearer enough to entertainment, town, harbour & beach when you want to. Best of both worlds. The apartment had no kettle or ironing facilities as stated on website. Would recommend hiring a car if staying at this location.
Economical and relatively good access to the downtown area.
Great location very close to the beach - 1 min! 20 min on foot to the Lagos centre along the beach, so nice walk. The staff was very nice and responsive to our requests. The apartment we got was nice spacious with all needed facilities and balcony with sea view! Very good value for money especially off season. Lack of internet access
Our stay was at a quiet time and without transport it was awkward to get into Lagos. The railway runs between the hotel grounds and the beach,i do not remember that being mentioned in the hotel details.
Good location, large balcony The first room we checked into room 108, the kitchenette worksurface was dirty and had not been cleaned from the previous occupier. Also, the after having a bath the bathroom floor flooded with water that smealt of raw sewage. The hotel moved our room but we lost our sea-view. The new room had a nicer kitchen area with more modern appliances.
Excellent value for money
It is a 2 km from the downtown and more form the best beaches... without a car it is not good.
Helpfull, friendly stuff close to town centre and marina . The room was cleaned every day
Quiet relaxing location, with large rooms. Good restaurant attached. Overall very enjoyable. Very poor signage, First sign you see to know your in the right place was at the reception desk, Took a very long time to find after stopping to ask several people where it was.
Easy check in and out, good situation on the beach, plenty of room in the apartment Showing signs of age, a little noisy during the night/early morning due to proximity to the car park.
Beautiful spot across from beautiful beach, Friendly staff. We had a rental car which made location much easier. Somewhat away from the town of Lagos if you're walking-
Close to the beach The staff is very rude. The rooms have no air conditioning, they become terrible hot during summer days.
The staff were very welcoming and attentive. They dealt with any requests quickly and profesionally. The hotel manager and restaurant manager wre particular helpful, knowledgable and courteous. The restaurant food was excellent
The staff were charming and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent. We did not like the music playing at breakfast. There's no need for it. Most people just want to talk to one another or come to gently!
fabulous hotel in a beautiful location;
Enjoying of the incredible sunset from the pool has been a great pleasure. Rooms were very big, confortable and clean, as well as the bathroom. Located near very nice beaches. 1. We made a reservation for dinner at 21.30, being told we could go anytime. For our surprise at 22.30 when we asked for dessert and couple minutes after we were told kitchen was closed, without anyone informing us about this or advicing us to order before they closed the kitchen. 2. There wasn't much variety in breakfast.
Nous avons eu la plus grande suite au dernier étage et les dimensions sont impressionnantes. Une terrasse immense, une vue magnifique et un service courtois et accueillant. Service trop lent au restaurant.
This is a first class hotel in every sense. Beautiful setting, excellent staff, excellent food. The best hotel we have ever stayed at,
Great views over bay and cliffs Stuck miles away from anywhere to eat apart from overpriced hotel restaurant.
Stunning location overlooking the ocean, comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff staff plus fabulous food make this a hotel I thoroughly recommend. I was traveling with my three and a half year old daughter, and although I would not really classify this as a family hotel, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. This hotel is a great find, we will return! Nothing!
very responsive staff
All were so good, staff and location, design and furniture. In our room shades were so dusty
Good location near beach great sized triple room and staff kind enough to provide cot for two year old breakfast fantastic. We only stayed one night which was ideal as felt we had to keep the kids quiet at breakfast and in the pool as little guest house with rooms opening onto pool - we may have struggled stating longer but lived it!
They have 5Litre water bottles in the reception. That's about it. Oh and a semi decent view of Meia Preia beach in fairness. Towels that were meant to be changed three times during our stay were not. The place is nice but grubby - looks like a decent cleaner needs hiring. Toilet roll is in short supply and dustbins were never changed nor was there somewhere to put any rubbish.
The pool and the jacuzzi are a great added bonus. Location was very good as well. The rooms could definitely be a bit cleaner.
Definately location- in old part of town, with view for Lagos bay. We had 2 tarraces with fantastic view. Bed covers need to wash. When we arrived I had to ask about toilet paper- lady from reception (mirracle to see her there) said that it is self-catering hotel, so no toilet paper is provided. I was very supprised about it- not everyone knows about it before arrive. You have to buy everything if you wish to stay longer. All apartments need to be refreshed.
Beautiful building, lovely part of the old city and very spacious accommodation Seagulls, no sharp knives with the kitchen utensils
I enjoyed the feeling of bieng secure and it was in the centre of the city no
Fantastic location, near to beaches and old town (easy walking distance). Very friendly staff. Apartment was extremely comfortable, spacious and decorated to a modern standard. Excellent value for money, I would definitely return here! Everything was perfect for us but it is located at the top of relatively steep hill, customers with walking difficulties would probably need to get a taxi. We also had a little trouble finding the hotel as there are no signposts except a tiny printout on the front door!! However we called the number provided by booking.com and the man w3e spoke was very helpful in directing us.
The character of the building.Location. Cleanliness of apartment.Constant hot water. No one to meet you when you get there.Had to ring a phone number left on the door and wait 10 mins for someone to let us in.Towels not changed at all throughout the week.
The price, the pool, location and the freedom to come and go as you please without being annoyed by front counter staff. Fridge, toaster, balcony, cooktop & microwave all good. We asked for a double and got twin beds (no other room around), rooms need an upgrade - broken and stained tiles, it just seemed unloved - but this was all expected due to the price we paid. It is self-contained but I expected dishwashing detergent and a dishcloth to be provided. No wii-fi available, but that was expected.
The clanleness of the rooms Breakfast was very poor and synthetic the coffee was so bad we could not drink it. The wood planking was in the wrong place so early in the morning there was a lot of noice
Lovely room, breakfast setting brilliant, walking distance to town centre and beach, can't fault it. n/a
Atmospheric, very Portuguese! Peaceful and a romantic setting. Close to Lagos old town. Lovely pool area with plenty of sun beds so could come and go as you pleased. Excellent continental style breakfasts, nice rooms with balconies and air con. None that spring to mind!
A cute period house, welcoming staff. Good location for the charming old town of Lagos.
It's a relatively small hotel with lots of character within easy walking distance of the beach & centre of Lagos.
everything was almost perfect.nice staff at the reption desk, great breakfast, room forniture.only a little faraway from the centre.
Beautiful rooms, lovely layout, pool area is small but picturesque. Good choice of food for breakfast. Friendly staff and also very quiet. About a 10 - 15 minute from the main town of Lagos and the nearest beaches, very manageable, although hilly (not the best for those with walking difficulties or buggies).
Wonderful place. It was paradise for a few fleeting days.
Comfort, great breakfast, friendly staff, personal attention, traditional decor, proximity to the old town, luxury at a very reasonable price - a refreshing change from impersonal big/high-rise accomodation. Would definitely recommend! Nothing.
very charming, perfect facilities, great and very friendly staff, really romantic environment, excellent breakfast (wide selection)... You just have to try and experience this hospitality!
