This is not a 5 star hotel. Hwo is responsible for evaluation?? I will not recommend to pay as 5-star hotel to anyone.
The staff were great & with a smile on their face. The Porter Con was absolutely fantastic (keep up your great service Con) & so were the reception staff. The Breakfast buffet had great selection. The motel was very clean & comfortable, close to restaurants & shops & also the port. We will stay there again. no
This is an excellent hotel in a very convenient location for sight-seeing. Everything is nearby and close to the waterfront. The staff is friendly and helpful. A bit pricey bu you would probably expect that for a five-star hotel.
Everything. Breakfast was especially good. Staff very helpful. Nothing negative. A bit pricey but that is what you expect for a five star hotel.
Helpful staff, good food, comfortable room, ease of access to airport
Excellent breakfast Very poor quality for money. Impossible to sleep because of noise from airplanes, cars passing in the street with very loud radios on all night, noisy motorbikes and so on. Depressing furniture. Poor view. Depressing surroundings.
Old furniture, bad smell. This is not 5-star hotel for sure.
Near the airport, large and very well appointed room, we booked a sea view room and thought it well worth it, superlative breakfast including an orange squeezing machine and Cretan specialites with a notice saying what they were. Central location including proximity to the Archeolgical Museum (which is shut for rebuilding and a tempory exhibition of "highlights" is underwhelming). Being presented with the visa receipt after OK-ing bill and asked to fill in the "Tip" box. I had tipped appropriately as we went and I found this a little grasping
Ideal situation/location of hotel. Reception staff initially not very welcoming.
The hotel is centrally located, and offers free wifi in the lobby. There is no way this is a five star or even four star hotel. Our room was supposed to be non-smoking, but reeked of smoke and the bed was quite uncomfortable. The hotel was generally worn, from the lobby, which at first glance looked stylish, but upon closer inspection was run down. The helpfulness of the staff varied widely, and I did not appreciate the snickers from the woman at the front desk when I, rather than my husband, handed her a credit card to pay.
The breakfast and the Hotel receptionist very helpful!!!!!! The rooms were poor and aren't to 5 star standards!!!!!
Location was good for being close to the port, but the walk up a fairly steep hill with luggage has put me off from stying here again. Lack of communication about the breakfast that was included in the room rate, we were advised we could have our breakfast in our room but was then charged full rate for doing so
the willingness of the receptionist to assist us in all we requested. the old carpet in our room had a bad smell.
Helpfulness of the front desk staff on arrival No
The food was very good. Location convenient for central Heraklion and handy for the bus station and airport. Also has good view over the harbour, although this isn't exactly picturesque! Good place to stay a night whilst waiting for a plane or boat to go somewhere else. Bedroom was cramped for 2 people. Balcony extremely small. It's also under the flypath for the airport.
We chose a Room with sea view and the view was really beautiful. The staff was always nice and very helpful.
The beds were the most comfortable in all of the hotels that we stayed in, while in Crete. We had a beautiful view of the harbour and a nice walking distance to the shops. The pictures of the hotel really show what the hotel is like.
We booked based on the location, but were delightfully pleased by the overall comfort and cleanliness of the facility.
Cozy room, harbor view, balcony, friendly and knowledgeable staff A bit self-consciously overdesigned
Good location near ferry/port area and city, helpful staff, valet parking, great breakfast, excellent harbour view from seaview rooms, worth paying a bit extra.
The staff and the service. Breakfast was excellent. Older than I expected.
friendly, helpful staff, very comfortable room, free internet access, good breakfast buffet
Staff was very helpful, buffet breakfast was great with lots of choices. Location was good for exploring Heraklion. Maybe just a bit overpriced.
We arrived early but were allowed into our room. Staff were helpful and friendly. We stayed for only one night ahead of our flight but would happily return for longer. Five minutes walk from bus station and three main museums. Excellent breakfast included in price.
Large room, excellent facilities and helpfulness of staff, especially as only 2 star. Really good value for money. 5 minutes walk from all central points in Herakleio. Slight difficulty finding by car but parking available at the hotel.
convenience, near the main road, ferry the mattress is bad, sleep is not good, breakfast is so so
Location was perfect, near port and near main street.. Mattress is very bad, I got back pain when I stayed in this hotel for total six nights. Water was not hot enough. No free internet was inconvenience
I liked the closeness to the main walking mall. Would of liked some tea & coffee making facility in our rooms,
The hotle is very well situated with near access to 25th of August St. and the Market. The view of the venetian castle and harbor from from the hotel is dreammy. The hotel itself is very designer modern inside while classic outside. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. The salads were very good at the roof top restaurant. They arranged for timely transportation to Knossos and the airport. My only bad experience was a group of very roudy Japanese tourists which may have had too much to drink and woke me up at 12:30 a.m. on my last night here. Otherwise, this was a perfect stay.
Excellent, helpful and friendly service. Immaculate presentation Dinner was average - not up to standard set by the rest of the hotel
The building, the hard wood floors, the breakfast, people were nice. There were very few people working ! there was no one at the front door when we arrived and we had to walk to the receprtion to tell them we needed someone for our luggage... they send a girl(a waitress) to pick them up!!! I felt bad for her. There was something uncomfortable about how the ground floor was designed , the location of the reception behind all these glass doors!
A luxury hotel with excellent staff and fantastic food. Located near marina, port and easy walk to shops, museums etc.
Good hotel nice staff perfect location to start and finisch your trip to crete, next to harbour and airport, no noise and relaxed atmosphere nice breakfast
Great service, nice room. Noisy at times as located in the proximity of the airport. Then again so is almost all of Heraklion and the windows keep out most of the noise. The step up chair provided in front of the bathtub to climb in and use as a shower is a nice touch but I prefer a separate shower without the climbing exercise.
Perfect location in the heart of the city next to bus terminal . Friendly multilingual staff. Luxurious atmosphere.
Luxury hotel, located next to the old town of Heraklion. We booked this hotel because of the swimming pool on top of the roof. But, it wasn't open! Only open in the summer season, okay, it was September, but hey, only a pool in July or August???
Everyone was helpful. Swimming pool was closed, although this was not stated on booking.
Very good location. Right in the center of the town. Very close to the port for boat traveling, about 15 min drive to airport. Walk 5 mins to market, car rental agencies, travel agencies. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Good to have free wifi cover the whole hotel. The room could be cleaner.
Very comfortable room with big balcony. Excellent common areas & the rooftop pool & bar with fantastic views of Heraklion
location: close to shopping & nightlife + not too far from airport/port Hotel breakfast buffet was overrated. possibly noisy from airport during busy summer months
I booked an executive room which was lovely as we had a seating area in the room. We put out the sign to have our room cleaned and only the bar fridge was stocked.
Closeness to attractions Clerks were rude at reception, room was dusty (floors, table in balcony
Astoria Capsis is located in the heart of Heraklion near major sites and shopping opportunities. You can easily walk to a lot of archaeological sites like the former fortress docks & harbours. There are a lot places to eat and shopping close by. No fitness center for exercise. There weren't a lot of choice for their breakfast. Can be noisy. My room had a noticeable sway for no apparent reason, possibly the foundation of the building was not stable.
Large, spacious room..nice beds.. Small bathroom
Breakfast was excellent. Opening hours of swimming pool.
The location is with walking distance of the port, bus station, and local attractions. The staff was helpful in arranging an extra night there, and they were helpful in every way. The bed was not as soft as I need with a sore back, but the room had lots of extra pillows.
I liked the decorations and comfort of the rooms and the service by the staff. Breakfast was also excellent. Very convenient location too should you want to visit the city centre of Heraclion or if you are in a business trip. The swimming pool should open earlier and not at 11 am.. You couldn't have a swim before breakfast.. the pool could do with a renovation too - the style was too 70s..
Very well located, nice views and nice staff. The breakfast is higher than the standard in Greece. Muy bien situado, buenas vistas y buen servicio. El desayuno es mejor que la media en Grecia As everywhere in Heraklio, parking is a nightmare. Como en todo Heraklio, aparcar es una pesadilla
The cafe facilities for breakfast and snacks and the quality of the hotel. Walls maybe need more soundproofing as a neighbour's TV was very audible.
Location. We stayed in Heraklion as a transfer on our way to Santorini. The hotel is excellently located between airport (arrival), city (eating) and harbor (departure).
Location is great for an overnight budget hotel. Great location in Heraklion and close to the airport. Beds are very hard and uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet is awful. Imagine waking up to see pasta for breakfast. No juice just sugar flavored waters.
Everything. The staff was polite, friendly, and extremely helpful. The hotel has a polished, sophisticated feel. The rooms were 1st or business class quality. The price was good.
location, staff, breakfast, free internet in lobby
The Hotel was very clean and modern. We were in Greece for 17 days and the Marin Dream Hotel was by best the nicest hotel we stayed at and not by any means the most expensive. Great value.
The view over Heraklion Harbour is fantastic ! Just five minutes to walk to get our ferry... And the staff was very kind.
we liked the location being near the centre of the town and the harbour, the rooftop terrace with the views and very nice meals, the staff who were very obliging nothing that we didn't like
excellent location, full breakfast, clean room location, could not use balcony
Very helpful staff. Very close to both ferry and bus station.
It was perfect, that there is wi-fi in the hotel and I could use the internet. The breakfast were not so good.
we chose it as close to the port and it was
Younger man at desk was only staff member who spoke English & he was nice. Location close to port was convenient Surrounding area not great....very basic room, but adequate. No breakfast or wi-fi
We didn't like our room at all, because it was full of cigarettes smell (we asked for non-smoking room) and without a real window. So - no fresh air at all! The location, service and breakfast were good & staff - friendly.
Very friendly and helpful concierge who did everything he could to help us in whatever we needed. We did not ave access to out room until after 5pm - some 5 hours after the official check in time !!!
Our welcome and the cleaness of the room Our room did not have a outside window, would not have liked to stay in that room moor than one night
close to port noise, size of room cleanliness, location on main road
Good breakfast. Rooms were nice, but balcony was in poor shape / not very appealing.
Innkeeper gentleman was very concerned for our well-being. He was a welcome sight after two days of sight-seeing. Cleanliness was topnotch. Room was spacious. Plentiful breakfast, too. Well, being from North America, it's always a challenge to adjust to shower sizes here.
Location near the port and the bus station
That it was only one night/good value for money, though I had to ask for a fan, which did not work properly. Room tiny, in a not to great area.
Stayed one night as a stop over. Owners very welcoming and helpful, room clean, was as advertised. We were most grateful that we were able to leave our bags behind for the day to sight see post check out. Thank you! Water pressure poor, I have long hair and didn't attempt to wash it.
We were very pleased with hotel - value for money. Size of hotel, situation and cleanliness; all suited us. The provision of kettle, coffee, tea in room was an excellent plus. Not a case of not liking - would have prefered to have had the opportuniy of continental breakfast.
Friendly proprietor, good location, cleaner than most hotels in this class. Overall good value.
Central to the town
O.k. I guess when you don't want to pay too much for a room in Heraklion is a location we consider convenient to walk in the city and take the bus to go to Knossos. Not very nice
This is the friendliest, most helpful, and cleanest hotel I have stayed in. Thank you, I have appreciated it.
The good think, that is not far away from the old town. This hotel is to stay one night, not more.My room it was small with old furniture, shared bathroom. My opinion, that for one person 35eur per night it was expensive.
Location was great. Side street away from the noise. Very small room. Very basic, don't have any expectations.
Closeness to the centre of town Scruffy surrounding area
