The style of the hotel, convenient location and valet parking were nice. They were accommodating with our bags since arriving early.
There was nothing spectacular about this hotel. They made us wait until after 3 pm to check in. I gave the woman at the front desk our phone number while we walked around the city so she could let us know when our room was ready. We walked back to the hotel, it was after 3 and still couldn't check in so we waited in the lobby for about another 30 mins. We finally approached the front desk again and it appeared they had forgot to tell us it was ready. The rooms were nice and location convienent but that's about it. It worked well for one night but I wouldn't stay there for an extended period of time.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and very clean. Andrew and the valet boys were wonderful. Very professional.
You could barely turn around in the, less than spacious, bathroom.
Easy check in, clean room and great location. Staff was friendly, professional and eager to help. I had an issue with the town car service they provided (no fault of their own) and they resolved it promptly with apologies. recommend without reservation.
The front desk concierge was not at all helpful. He was aloof, abrupt and dismissive. We mistakenly booked a room with one bed instead of two and when we had a rollaway bed delivered it came with only one thin blanket. We had to ask twice for more blankets. We were put in a handicap room which was dark, dismal and clearly not used frequently. There were no electrical outlets to charge our phones (we unplugged a light fixture.) There were no glasses in the bathroom. We were treated to the droning music from the downstairs dance club until 2 AM. There was nothing redeeming about our stay except good pancakes in the morning.
The convenience of the location next to Prudential with some of the best local fine dining, and the hospitality of the staff deserve special recognition. The overall ambience is excellent; I highly recommend this place.
Location is centrally located
The room was small and not noise proof
This was a great hotel for the price, right in the heart of Boston. The room was nice and clean, and the free wifi was a bonus.
I arrived late and needed to get dinner, but the restaurant was closed. The staff recommended Star Market, the 24 hour grocery store (LOL), but walking a couple blocks I found a nearby bar that was still serving food.
Clean, lovely small rooms. Classy decor and feel. Friendly and attentive staff. Unreal location. Would absolutely return.
The hot water in my room was not turned on when I got there. To their credit, it was fixed quickly. I also gave detailed instructions for a particular special request and it was only partially done correctly. Still nice though.
Great location, easy walking to Boyalston st, Newbury st, and public transportation (the T and buses). Room was modern, clean, and comfortable. Would definitely be a great place to stay for business or for couples.
Room was a little small (queen size bed room), which was fine for two people but may not be ideal for a family (didn't get to see a room with 2 beds so not positive on that). We only stayed for a night and parked at the back bay garage which was expensive.
We were there for one night on New Year's Eve and the location was perfect for First Night Boston - easy to walk to all events in Copley Square and the Hynes Convention Center and it was nearby to restaurants for brunch the next morning. The valet parking was great, the wine tasting in the late afternoon was nice, and the staff were friendly and attentive.
The accommodations were fine for one night but the queen room was miniscule. We had to wait for each other to walk by the bed and had to maneuver around the door to get into the bathroom. There was not room for a chair or table - just the bed and a bureau. We ate supper in the hotel restaurant just because we were behind schedule when we arrived. The food and service were average, but the dining room is close to the exterior door and was extremely cold and not particularly comfortable.
Location was great, room was clean
The Staff though nice, was extremely misinformed. when we checked in they raved about the "included" breakfast. We woke up the next morning for such a breakfast and was shocked to find a breakfast that was not "included," which was fine, but having 2 staff members rave about it and tell us it was included was frustrating and confusing...so we left and got breakfast else where just very strange
Comfortable, clean, convenient hotel.
Clean and modern boutique hotel, made for a good stay on a short trip.
Staff were outstanding and very attentive. Check-in and check-out was very smooth (which isn't always the case with a hotel right in the heart of a city). The building was very nice and had a good historic feel that fit the neighborhood, without feeling old. Back Bay area around there is great. Lots of great bars, restaurants, old buildings, the water is nearby, Boston Commons is easily walkable.
Got the King room and while the bed/TV were great, they pretty much took up the whole room. Not much space at all, fairly crammed. (Getting ready for our party and having the ironing board out created some keystone cop moments.) I checked lack of value because it was $444 a night. It's a better value than the other hotels in the area, it's just Boston is super expensive to visit (I've gone to SF, DC, NYC this year already and stayed in just as nice or nicer places, never paid nearly that much). So it's really Boston area hotels that aren't value compared to other outstanding cities. My reco is only go to Boston when you find a discount.
Nice hotel clean, nice staff, well located
