Year-in and year-out the LaFonda always sets the standard for my Santa Fe visits. Yes there are many great hotels in this wonderful town but for class, comfort, quality dining and loation you cannot beat this historic Inn.
I liked everything about this hotel. The room was wonderful, the staff excellent and polite, the restaurant was wonderful, and the location was the best. It even included free parking in a covered garage. Every aspect of this hotel was excellent.

Great location Room not as described or pictured at all, Huge disappointment. Also first room they checked us into had someone's drinks on the desk along with other items. Also when checking in, the manager said "Oh, you booked third party". Why should that matter? Made me fell like a low class guest. Then finally after being checked in to 2 other rooms, the third room was satisfactory. Also the pool and spa is not very good. Have had much much better at a Holiday Inn Express for hot tub, pool, and fitness equipment.
The building is wonderful, a pueblo style exterior with an art-filled interior. The staff was gracious and accommodating. We loved the folk art touches scattered throughout the public places and rooms. You could hear the Basilica bells pealing and walk to the place to mingle with the tourists. The La Fonda is a fine, venerable institution. Santa Fe has an extraordinary architectural homogeneity (in a good sense). The must have very strict zoning rules for the historical district. That being said, it all seemed a bit artificial, without the sights and sounds of real town. Not far out, there are miserable reservations with dirt-poor housing and a feeling of desolation. That is not La Fonda's fault, of course, but it is a bit shocking.
My husband and I found La Fonda a very comfortable and beautiful place to stay. The central dining room, where we often had breakfast and dinner, is a beautiful setting, with courteous staff, and excellent cuisine.
The bathroom was unique and the setting of the hotel was perfect. Great for spending time and walking around Santa Fe. My view was of a parking lot.

Decent location. Good, comfy bed. You won't hear about: -$5 for parking (at the desk, at check in) (also, what a rip off). -Poor shower quality (Half the water goes into the tub, poor pressure from showerhead as a result) -Random cleaning schedule (staff knocked on our door to see if we were leaving at 9:00. Check out isn't until 11, and check in isn't until 1. Why not just do a printout of rooms that need cleaning between those times?) -We had an "upgraded" room because they couldn't initially find our reservation. This room had a huge cabinet thing that wouldn't fully open, had janky drawers, and filled the whole room. It looked nice and seemed totally nonfunctional. -TV took ten minutes to stabilize the signal.
It is comfortable, cozy, convenient and a great deal. Also quiet! Breakfast area is nice and breakfast was a fine continental breakfast. Right across from the Railyard park- great for kids. I like the area- easy to get to plaza. Staff was friendly and efficient. This isn't a super fancy place, but absolutely comfortable with all ammenities I need.

The hotel was close to everything we wanted to check out! Front desk staff was great and the room was cute and comfortable. The bathroom was little and the shower was a little weird.. That's my only complaint!

Location was great. We checked in late at night. Our keys did not work, so we had to get them reprogrammed. The room was so small that I could not roll my suitcase back to the luggage stand. Breakfast ended at 10. At 9:45 an employee was restocking the jelly, peanut butter, sugar, etc. and blocking all of the food to where we could not fill our plates. When I asked to reach around her she said she would be just a minute. This place was way overpriced for the amenities and service.

The rooms we had were great and amazing for the price. Everything was clean and the facilities at the hotel were great. The dining was just varied enough and easy to get into. My server was top notch and went out of his way without being asked, to locate the tortillas that were used to make the chips because of an allergy concern. Bravo! The only thing I did not like was the downstairs casino. It could use some more air scrubbers to circulate and clean the air. It really smelled so bad we had to leave it after only a couple minutes.
The room was beautiful and the staff was friendly. Price was quite affordable and less than I would expect. We will be going back. Better deals can be found online but be sure of what you are booking if you go through a third party agency!!. The staff will not work with you or match prices, at all!! I wish they were a bit more flexible on this matter.

The decor and the art on the premises is superb! The rooms are spotless. We reserved a king size bed, but the hotel had things mixed up and gave us a queen.
Decent stay for a casino or golf. View of air conditioners that were running 24 hours a day. Loud sound for a balcony view. Didn't spend much time on the balcony due to the noise and the view. Couldn't leave balcony door open due to sound running constantly. Make sure you ask what you're getting a view of ? Wifi is an extra cost in some rooms

The artwork at the hotel was beautiful. The pottery, paintings, and architecture was amazing. The food was decent. Went to both the cafe and buffet. It was decent. The spa which was 15$ separate from the room fee was tiny. I didn't book a massage or anything after already paying 181.00 for the room, so I had high hopes that the spa amenities would be worth it. They weren't. The spa was a tiny single hot tub, a tiny sauna that maybe fit three people, and a tiny steam room that maybe fit four. The room I was promised when I booked had a queen size bed plus additional amenities hopefully included. Because I was promised a king size bed, I was hoping the room would also include a balcony and/or fireplace like what is advertised on the website. They put us in a tiny room with two queen beds and a standard bathroom. No amenities that are advertised online or when I booked. It sucked. When I asked the woman at the desk she said no rooms with those anemities were available and that the small queen room was our only option. She said this sort of rudely as well. Won't be coming back.
On site casino, pool and golf course. There was a shuttle that ran to the train station in Santa Fe and was easy to use if you needed to get to town.
Our stay at Fort Marcy was very pleasant. Our suite was quite, very pretty and comfortable. We had our grandsons with us and they had their own bedroom with twin beds. The beautiful mosaic tile and decor was beautiful with the Santa Fe theme. The staff were very nice and gave us a warm welcome.
First I would like to start with the fact that I never write a review. But I feel I must after my stay. I requested to have a room change, in which I received a less than pleasant call from the assistant manager. He would not assist me and his snarky and sarcastic tone was the icing on the cake. In the end he would not assist in my request. The room we stayed in was beat up with wallpaper peeling in the bathroom as well as tile falling off the corners. We used the stairs and each time I was shocked at the amount of garbage in the stairwell. One certain time a front desk employee was heading up the stairs the same time as us, looked at the trash and kept moving. We suggested he pick up the used light bulbs discarded and perhaps send someone to pick up. The last complaint I have is the vallet left our car windows open all night. Unfortunately it rained all night and our seats are soaked. With all noted above I would think by staying at a Hilton the customer service and overall cleanliness would be superior. My room was 250 dollars and I have stayed in a Holiday Inn that was far better this.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The spa was very nice. Room service was good. The room service was a little expensive for what it was. The massages are also a bit over priced as well.

Great hotel marred by two issues 1. "Heat is off in the summer" when outdoor temps are around 60 in the morning. Room was cold. 2. On check in, front desk tried to repudiate getaroom's reservation for a king size bed. They capitulated after I protested. Something to keep in mind: Getaroom, expedia, et al are agents of the hotel.
It's a very quiet hotel in the low season. Restful and I got a lot of work done. The historic area is within easy walk as are several very good restaurants. I think it's time for a furniture/drapery upgrade in the rooms, especially the mattresses. I expected better in a "luxury" hotel. If I had paid full high season price for this hotel, I would have been dissapointed.
Staff was excellent. Very accommodating. Lobby and bar are updated. The rooms are very dark. No overhead lighting, just floor lamps.

Great location We booked a king room, but when we arrived we got a double room. Told us they could not guarantee roomwhen booked through a third party vendor. Disappointed and would book directly through hotel, to insure we get the room we want.
The front desk staff was amazing! I believe her name was kadeisha. She was friendly, informative and accommodating. The valet staff was rather rude. They insisted we had to valet and even when we said we would pay the valet fee but prefer to park ourselves. He was quite condescending. I have traveled quite a bit and havent been to a hotel that wouldn't allow a guest to self park if they agreed to pay the prevailing parking rate. The rooms were spacious but were quite dark. The pool wasn't well cared for- the dirty towels were overflowing, the pool and hot tub had debris at the bottom, and there wasn't much to be desired.

Loved the casita, the staff was terrific, great breakfast, warm cookies, location, location, location! The fireplace with wood and starter provided was a nice touch although we did not need to use it. fine line between rustic charm and needs work...our casita needed a little work in bathroom . Fitted bedding would have been nice...too many wrinkles and lumps caused by shifting mattress pad and bottom sheet. Uncomfortable for my "princess and the pea" body. Thermostat was set to 75 when we arrived! Turned it down to 60, the heat maintained at 65. Curious about the historic fee, although warned about it at booking.

Food, beds, service, courtyards and sitting areas, warm cookies at front desk and price. The rooms are aging, but not damaged. The sofas were not comfortable at all from worn cushions. I don't have to have all modern...little cozier and not so stark so most of furnishings were fine It was clean and that is the most important along with wonderful customer service.
Walking distance to the plaza and sights of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The only complaint we had was the wi fi didn't work on my computer and they weren't knowledgeable to fix it, but they did have one in the lounge I could use.
Loved super helpful and friendly staff. Good location. Unit 1 was called a "super casita" and it WAS super, full living room, dining room & kitchenette, spacious bathroom & king bedroom. Lovely SW design touches. 200 year old building w wavey floor. Great breakfast, included in price. Parking included in price and directly in front of unit. I was shown multiple other rooms in other parts of their complex (planning a family reunion) and EACH was lovely. We want to come back soon! Internet was free but dreadful. A few lightbulbs out -- but promptly fixed when mentioned.
The best thing about Las Palomas is the location, just 4 blocks from the Plaza. However it's also located in a cute little real neighborhood outside the Plaza so it feels more homey. Check in was a bit abrupt but not unfriendly.
The location was fantastic! The shops and eateries was walking distance. The staff was wonderful and it was an warm welcome. My room was cool at night. When I went to turn on the heat, it was only blowing out freezing air.
The breakfast was excellent! The staff were friendly and the location was great. We were "upgraded" to a Casita from a studio. This was disappointment. The Casita smelled like smoke from the fireplace. The place needed a remodel/facelift in our view. Every room was less than what we expected from the website pictures of the studio we reserved.
The management was excellent- so helpful on finding places and things to do. Great breakfast included, as well as free lattes and treats. Truly made you feel like you were guests at their home. The bed was really excellent- super comfortable king.
Elizabeth and Al were most helpful in recommending dining places; we had great food at new and different restaurants. The breakfasts are super and omelets made just to your liking. It is a wonderful perk to have the shuttle service available on a windy afternoon. Location and parking are another plus. The rooms are quaint and colorful but there isn't space dedicated to placement of suitcases during an extended stay.

Attractive with nice amenities and great location. Maid tried to get in our room to clean at 8 or 8:15 two mornings of our stay. We were sleeping in and this seemed a bit early. Cleaning staff were also talking loudly outside our room.

The chest of drawers that required the cabinet doors to be totally open before you could pull out drawers. Even then the drawers rubbed.
We had a family reunion there.We were from NY, San Francisco & Boston.wish they had Catholic TV. In this historic,holy town. Who cares about all the sports channels. That won't get u into heaven. Swimming pool was 87 degrees in winter& pool is open all day. Nothing.

Asked to speak to Mgr and it appeared staff lied about Mgr being on site as he appeared to be sitting in the office at his desk. We had a concern and wanted to discuss with Mgr as it was a safety issue and the staff could have cared less. They were completely unresponsive and would not even tell the Mgr about the issue, didn't show any concern or compassion..
the room was huge and great b We checked in around 1:30 in the morning because we had just had our wedding and reception. It took us picking up the call phone and calling the main number from our cellphones for about half an hour for someone to finally answer us and check us in. After, the guy was extremely rude because it seemed like we woke him from his sleep. If you cannot stay up then don't work nights.
Not very expensive, good location close to I-25, and we are big runners and there was a nice paved path just across the street that went for miles north and south. Very basic and kind of older, bathroom had a weird layout, but clean and a basic breakfast. Very happy with the place for the price we paid.
The manager had a good attitude to customers. The breakfast was limited and staff attitude was not good.
This is a very nice hotel/suites in a convenient location. The room was very comfortable. We did not use the kitchen facilities, but they would be handy for a longer stay. The complimentary breakfast was very rudimentary. They were out of several items, such as oatmeal.

There were dirty towels in our room and when I notified the front desk attendant he didn't seem alarmed, as if they are used to something being dirty and it just being a matter of time until someone noticed. I appreciated the room for the night and plan to give Santa Fe Suites another chance. It's definitely a budget motel where expectations should be kept low.

Good location, perfect rooms, excellent dinner (and personnel working at that time). Staff working at breakfast time is rather bad tempered and really in no hurry at all (you have to ask for any attention). But the only shortcoming.
The hotel had very courteous staff, who were always available to help and offered helpful suggestions and recommendations. Rooms were a bit small but sufficient. Bathroom was too small for two people, and a door would have been nice for privacy.
Decor The restraunt was very disappointing. The food appeared and tasted like frozen entrees from the grocery store, mediocre at best. The wait staff, while very pleasant, were slow and had to come back several times to clarify our orders.

The gentleman who checked us in was very nice and helpful. We made the reservation an hour and a half before arrival and it ended up being one of their last rooms. I only wish that their had been some more dinner options. We were tired and ordered Jimmy Johns which was ok The room was clean and spacious but a little dark. There were quite a few kids running up and down the halls which we didn't like but they quieted down after a while. The only thing we were a little unhappy with was the complimentary breakfast. It was not good.
Parking lot lights blazed through the room all night despite full coverage curtains.
My room was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, and the lighting in the bathroom was very good, which is not always the case in hotels, and thus worth mentioning. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room did not have a microwave. The "business center" only had 2 computers, one of which did not work at all, and the printer did not work. The breakfast was not really worth eating, even at no charge. The "fresh" fruit was especially disappointing.
Won't stay there again. On the third floor, a beep sounded every 2 minutes - sounded like a smoke detector indicator of a low battery. Contacted the front desk the first night, they did nothing. Lasted our entire 3 day 2 night stay. There was little light in the room, not enough to work by. There was no electrical plug by the desk - have to unplug the TV and a light plus borrow an extension cord from the front desk to use my laptop. People were nice, but room wasn't.

This was my first time and it was more than what I expect. Service was excellent. Candy and snacks were too expensive.
The location is superb, the ambience was perfect. Clean large rooms, and a lovely view. Mostly, the staff was great and friendly. However, a bad experience in the bar was really disappointing. I wanted to order a light meal (available there) and a glass of wine. I sat alone at my table for at least 15 minutes, while others who were couples were getting waited on and served. They had even come after me! After about 15 minutes, I realized that I wasn't going to be served. So I went up to the bar, where 3 of the bar staff were talking and laughing. Finally, "Luis" took my order of a glass of wine. I commented that I didn't realize thT I had to come up to the bar myself and get a drink. He never responded and gave a slight smirk. I am handicapped and have trouble walking due to 4 fractured vertebrae. I would have appreciated an apology and then have someone come back and check! I slowly drank my wine, and still no service, while others around me (couples) were served. I wanted another glass of wine and a light bite to eat. But obviously that wasn't going to happen unless I chased someone down. So I just left. Regarding Luminare, the restaurant, service was ok. Nothing stellar. At dinner, I wasn't informed of any specials, yet I heard other tables getting the full treatment. I feel that because I am a woman alone, I was sort of treated as a second class citizen. Lorenzo the bellhop was GREAT. So were the front desk staff.
The exterior of the hotel and landscaping are easily the best in town. On-site valet parking is quick and convenient, as parking in old town santa fe is very limited. The location is ideal. It's a quick walk to anywhere in the old town area. The rooms are very average and dark. In my opinion, they are very overpriced, as is the restaurant. I expected better decorating in the rooms, considering the hallways and public areas of the hotel are very nice. One person in our party discovered their bed had been thrown-up in the night before and improperly cleaned. When they pulled down the comforter, they were greeted by the offensive odor and put a towel on the bed and found it was still wet. Their night was comped, but that's about as bad as it can get.
This may be the first time we've spent in a hotel that had really comfortable rooms (the bed and pillows were wonderful). The architecture was very interesting, and gave it an almost exotic feel (from east coasters at least). The location in Santa Fe let you do almost everything within walking distance, and it's a short drive to other great spots to visit like Los Alamos, Taos, and Albuquerque. The staff were always very helpful. Only negative I can think of is their fitness center's a bit of an afterthought, especially when both treadmills were broken at the same time. If you're going to charge everyone a mandatory fee for its use, you should at least keep the equipment working. And while the valet parking staff were awesome, having to pay for valet if you wish to park there is also a little annoying. (I would have anyway, but I can certainly see how someone would not want to.)
Loved the style and amenities. The restaurant, both indoors and outdoors, was very pleasant. Great service and food. Didn't like having to valet our car.
I really loved the spa-like feel of the place and proximity to the plaza, all the shopping, restaurants, museums, and community activities. The decor - especially the lounge and the pool area have a resort atmosphere and you do feel like you are treating yourself. I have stayed at other spa resorts. I don't think the Loretto should call itself a "spa" in the title since it doesn't have any sauna, steam room, or similar facilities. When I stay at a spa, I am really looking for those types of facilities. Also, although they were "nice," I didn't feel staff was really game for checking in with guests about their needs. For example, at the pool, there were several groups of guests the day I was enjoying the pool which also happened to be on the weekend of a big fiesta. Guests (including myself) had to go inside to ask for food/bev service and towels were at your own service. If this hotel really wants to be considered a destination for spa travelers, guests shouldn't have to walk into the lounge area in their swimming attire to ask for food/bev service (yes, there is a phone at the pool a guest can use to call the bar for service but it's just as easy at that point to walk 2 more steps into the bar). Food/Bev management, please schedule an extra waitstaff to attend to pool guests on weekends. Thanks! once I did touch base with the bartender, she was very sweet and attentive! oh and also, please offer guests water while they are at the pool especially since many travelers aren't used to the elevation. I enjoyed my stay, thank you.
Location Paid upgrade price for fireplace. Fireplace turned out to be a cut out in wall with one candle ! What a rip off ... Small room they tried to look bigger by full length mirror on wall. Shared balcony with another room...
The proximity to shopping and great restaurants was perfect. The ambiance, customer service and room all exceeded our expectations. When we had trouble with the ac, someone was up to fix it within the hour and everyone was so helpful, from the parking attendant to the front desk and concierge. The daily offering of cider and cookies in the lobby was such a nice touch, too!
Great experience from the front desk to the room. Perry was exceptional as our concierge and treated our Mother on her 80th with a split of champagne and strawberries that made her special day. First floor rooms have no cell phone service due to the solid construction of the hotel.
From the smiling face at the desk, and the attentive staff, this was a memorable stay the entire time. As a place to stay that was convenient to the historic plaza and all of its attractions, this was an excellent choice of places to stay

Location is great. Only reason I stayed there was because of the parking area. Had I not had a large vehicle, I wouldve gone else where. In fact I was going to stay across the street at El Dorado but couldnt fit my car. Insidef elt and looked like a casino in Las Vegas.
Easy walking to most attractions. Good parking and easy highway access. Friendly and competent staff. Excellent included breakfast (fresh fruit, eggs to order, & great granola). Unique and area-appropriate room décor and atmosphere. Would stay here again. Bed was too high.
location, staff were friendly. there was no real closet to hang clothes in. The space was only 12 inches aprox as there was large square part of the wall taking up all the space. Also they had said there was a fireplace in every room, ours did not have one and we were told there was "a burning ban, anyway"
I liked the Sante Fe style of the rooms and our courtyard with fountain. Breakfast was also pleasant each morning. I didn't like the fact that my smallest room on the property was the same price as my friend's suite, which could have housed both of us for 1/2 the price had we known.

The rooms were clean and cozy. Since I'm from a tropical place and staying in Santa Fe during November I was fearful of the cold nights, but the heater worked great and I could open the windows for fresh air. The decor is modern with nostalgic and rustic sentiment. I did not have a car, so I appreciated the convenience of the hotels location as it was steps away from the plaza and great eateries.
The location is terrific, the rooms are a little small but nicely appointed, the beds are comfy, lobby is nice, it's a historic property with a great bar! There was no coffee maker in the guest room and no morning coffee in the lobby, and no one at the restaurant desk so we had to go out. Not a big deal but a little inconvenient since it was snowing!
All of the staff are very pleasant in this boutique hotel in the heart of Santa Fe. The public areas are nicely appointed. It is a historic hotel so the rooms are small with limited counter space.
Wonderful restoration; helpful staff and superb location to main sights in the central part of old Santa Fe. We did choose the least expensive room and was perhaps not surprised that we had a small room with not such a nice view but it was very nicely appointed and comfortable.

Staff friendly &helpful. Position close to centre of Santa Fe but overlooking mountains and the outdoor pool an added bonus. It would not have been as good without the shuttle bus. Not sure if I was expected to tip shuttle bus drivers on every trip.
Room and Lobby are clean and nicely furnished. Good coffee, soap, and towel. We did not dine in, but the restaurant in the hotel looked nice. It was a nice hotel. Parking Lot looks bit run down. Furnishing is nice, but some are too worn out. TV is old tube, maybe around 22" size, but matches to furniture.
Outdoor pool. Free shuttle service. Wi fi down for a week or more
Never ate in the restaurant so can't evaluate. Rooms clean and daily housekeeping good. Good value for the reduced rate I paid, but wouldn't want o pay the high season rates. Hallways were a bit unkempt. Could have been vacuumed more.
I paid for a suite, and was told that I got one, but it was a regular size room with no desk and a sofa from which you couldn't watch tv. There was no closet or any place to hang clothes.

Shopped and visited art galleries. Our room was small and not having a tub was a surprise.

Ours was a luxurious stay at a reasonable price. The rooms at the Hacienda are very nicely appointed and spacious. Staying nearer the Plaza would be better but the decent location combined with free parking and shuttle is still very good. The private entry and helpful staff help make this a safe and enjoyable place that we would come back to.
It was a very clean hotel with an excellent continental breakfast. I don't think it was worth the price of the room. We stayed in a room with a king sized bed, and there was no bath tub in the bathroom. I just wanted to relax and was shocked to see no tub. I paid $179 a night-I think I was entitled to a hot bath at that price. For a hotel that is right off the interstate, nothing picturesque, not near any night life, not near the plaza; it was exceptionally overpriced. I am from Albuquerque and needed to stay in Santa Fe overnight. I know that Santa Fe runs a little more pricey than Albuquerque, but still...If I am going to pay that much, I'd like a little more value for my money. I will be finding a different hotel to stay in.
