Country view from the room is excellent. Very kindness stuff. Bath room had a trouble, but the stuff fixed it very quickly. I visited in October and felt a little cold. However airconditionor didn't work. I asked the stuff, but she said, "Air conditoner start to work from November." There were some insects in the room.
Perfect location for a wonderful stay in a country atmospere. The owners were lovely people and made our stay great. They were very helpful with all of our requests.
The pool and the view
The location is central for touring Firenze, Siena, Montalcino, Pisa, etc. The central part of San Gimignano is minutes away. The view is spectacular!!! and owners Paola and Roberta are warm, friendly and offer good directions and dining advice. Breakfast selections are plentiful and offer choices typical of European breakfasts. Would definitely return and recommend this tuscan hotel. Not one complaint.
The view of tuscany is perfect. Breakfast is the best we had among all the hotels we stayed for this trip. Mosquito, mosquito, mosquito. Better not to open the window.
The hotel is outside of San Gimignano (a 5 minutes drive). It is very recommended to take a room with panoramic view. The outside breakfast was very nice. The pool was very nice (although we used it only once).
Nice hotel with beautiful view. Great breakfast and nice staff. Free parking but have to walk to old town around 1 km. No free wifi.
The room and the swimming pool is very clean. Home baked croissant by Grandma is great. It's difficult for us to go to the hotel from the Poggibonsi / San Gimignano train station. Better call for a taxi in advance. The bed is too soft.
Beautiful views. Available car parking. We arrived on a cold October evening, so our experience may reflect that. The hotel is attractive, but not very welcoming. The staff though competent were preoccupied with their children. The beds were not very good, neither was the soundproofing. I can imagine this as a great place to stay in summer.
The staff was very helpful when we asked for info on the area. The continental breakfasts for more than adequate. The scenery was breathtaking! Driving in the mountains was a bit challenging at night.
The place was beautiful. The staff was friendly. The room was very clean and beautiful. The breakfast was great. The home made wine was delicious! Everything was wonderful. Most of the staff didn't speak English which was a little hard for communication. It was a little hard getting there, better directions would have helped. But after we got there it was worth every minute.
Poderi Arcangelo is an old olive farm and vineyard whose stone buildings are renovated for "agritourism." It is set in the beautiful Tuscan landscape, with a modern swimming pool overlooking the fields of grapes. The pool softens the rustic lifestyle and was so enjoyable on the hot summer days. We stayed in a former hayloft, which meant our bed was upstairs from the ground floor where our children stayed. We were travelling with another family and they had the adjacent suite. None of the guest rooms have refrigerators, although a small one is available for shared use in a nearby building. Air conditioners are installed in the rooms but turning them on costs an additional 6 euros per day (like having a pay toilet in your room). The alternative is to sleep with windows open and be eaten by mosquitoes. The evening meals were OK in quality and variety but quite expensive and had to be ordered ahead of time. The poderi does not sell drinks during the day and the staff takes a siesta after serving sandwiches at lunchtime (they must also be ordered ahead of time).
Only the location is ok. Services are very poor, in fact we had to wait even for check-out. Also breakfast couldn't be called a breakfast, tablecloth was very dirty, room very poor, definitely can't be called a four star villa.
unique location, surroundings, calm and quite, concept, location, view, accommodation some front-desk staff, lack of customer orientation, poor breakfast (room, quality, setup and cleanliness)
staff very friendly; food very tasty; position beautiful, over hills.
In a beautiful setting with wonderful views. Staff all very friendly & helpful. The double room in converted barn we had was large, but due to design no clear outlook from windows or place to sit eg. balcony.
location-spacy room-very quiet during night-nice place to have breakfast
Beautiful Location & Friendly Staff Rooms were small
The views were amazing and the staff were friendly and helpful The rooms were terribly cold at night (mid February), and the breakfast was pretty meagre
Hotel apartments authentically Italian with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Lack of public bar area, restaurant (only opened if 6 or more guests dining), poor selection at breakfast time. Slightly isolated with very few facilities on site.
Good size rooms, friendly staff. The breakfasts were uninteresting and limited in choice.
great garden with swimming pool , good breakfast , nicely decorated diner was average
Subltle lightiing in the dining area in the evening would be nice
Spacious grounds, very friendly staff, great location for day trips. Dinners at the hotel were very good. Bed was a bit uncomfortable.
Beautiful Tuscan Villa. So relaxed. Surroundings are spectacular and the food in the restaurant is amazing. The free bus service to San Gimingano was great. The staff are great, cant fault this hotel.
Close to the town, good views not being able to sit where we wanted to at breakfast
location , restaurant , breakfast
Small and cosy, very friendly staff, warm atmosphere, beautiful surroundings (park), excellent starting point for visiting towns and places in Toscana.
Nice and big garden. Close to San Gimignano. Dinner could be better. The menu looks good but the food was not always good.
The beautiful countryside and the lovely view from our window. The breakfast was always the same food and after the second day you get bored with the same food.
Helpfulness of lady on desk who arranged excursions
The hotel was lovely and staff very pleasant and welcoming. Dedicated parking was available, first come first serve, near the street for free, which was great! Location was good - a little far from town, but still walking distance. Location was very quiet, tranquil country setting. Pool looked beautiful and inviting. Lovely breakfast room overlooking garden and pool. Room was tiniest and most expensive of the 9 European hotels we stayed at. The bathroom was the most compact I have ever seen. I didn't even attempt to shower. The terrace was bigger than the room and bathroom combined, but was too windy and chilly to use it. I recommend this hotel because it was the easiest way to access the town and avoid the parking issues. Also, the hotel was very nice and the room was fine - just small.
Helpful staff. Clean. Lovely view, nice garden and pool. Walking distance to San Gimignano.
The hotel was perfect for a holiday in Tuscany. It was very peaceful and had beautiful views across the Tuscan hills. I would recommend this hotel 100%, the standard size bedroom was large with a great bathroom and great views. We stayed in Italy for 14 nights, 5 of which at this hotel and it was by far our favourite. We loved San Gimignano also, it has such character and history. The hotel is just a short walk from the city walls. Originally I has booked a "small" room. The room was as stated tiny but had been advertised as having a large balcony. When I went out on this 'large balcony',the view was non existant and was facing other similar small rooms and we could not see any of Tuscany at all. This made the combination of the small room and the balcony very claustraphobic. We were advised that we could upgrade to a standard room at an additional 40 euro per night. We decided to do this and received a remarkably better room with a fabulous view. So if you are going, I would recommend this room type without a doubt.
Location, friendliness of staff, cleanliness Vey small bedrooms
The view from the bedroom window was spectacular. The location near town was most ideal. Everything was great
Location and parking.
Just a very short walk into historical center so you can come and go as you please. Upgraded to best room and it was excellent with a great view. Breakfast good enough to satisfy most. Attentive staff. Had to upgrade to receive decent view.
Wonderful view - very pleasant surroundings within the grounds - convenient location Dogs barking continuously - not the hotels fault. Air con not working (too early in the year I imagine) so not fully adaptable to unseasonable weather.
fabulous room, fabulous staff and fantastic location Restaurant a bit sterile-to be fair staff very good but it was a bit quiet
The rooms were lovely and very spacious. Loved the bathroom w/jacuzzi tub.
Facilities at the hotel were good. The hotel was deserted and as a result the atmosphere was very poor.
Lovely setting and building Too impersonal, poor breakfast
The hotel was situated in an excellent location for visiting the area. The hotel surroundings were extremely relaxing and the service from the hotel staff was second to none. The hotel restaurant menue did not change for the week we stayed there
the hotel is located in an nice, well-maintained historical building in a very nice environment although making noise the airconditioning was not effective at all. the temperature was above 30 degrees, also at night. the menu of the restaureant was quite limited and did not provide good value for money. as breakfast is concerned, quality was good but again, a fairly limited choice. And when paying 270 euros per night, I would not expect to pay an additional 6 euros for a simple boiled egg. so although the hotel has all the assets to be a splendid holiday hotel, both the non-functioning airconditioning and the ratio of value for money would keep me from going back.
The breakfast buffet was lovely and varied in its choices. The setting for all outdoor dining was lovely and romantic with great views of San Gimignano on its distant hilltop. The pool was gorgeous. I wish we could have stayed longer. There were no fresh flower arrangements inside the hotel. They should make more use of the inner courtyard which was the former cloister.
I enjoyed it as the ambience was really nice, quiet, comfortable, staff quite friendly and helpful. Beautiful scenery, beautiful vistas, located just outside of town, easy acess and egress. Altogether very pleasant. Accomodating as well, allowing us to depart one day early without penalty.
The staff were amazing (Paola and Mario especially. The location to San Gimgnano was great. Rooms were lovely, Gastro-restaurant was fantastic. Service of rooms great. Can't say a bad thing about this venue. Looking forward to visiting again.
View, food, cleanliness, internal design, facilities
Situation, staff friendliness, room and room terrasse with view on Toscany hills, spa and fittness centre, swimming pool, quietness, restaurant Nothing
Really nice restaurant and wait staff. It was really quite expensive for what it was. The pool wasn't great.
The location of the hotel and its facilities are excellent. The staff were very attentive and helpful.
the reception staff were very helpfull, our room was lovely and the view amazing I was dissapointed that towels were not provided at the pool. The lighting in the restaurant was too harsh in the evening and the atmosphere was spoilt by this. i also found one of the waiters quite bolshy and not a credit to the rest of your staff
We liked the location with splendid views of the surrounding countryside. The garden area and pool side area were pleasant for relaxing and the pool side lunches were very good We were disappointed by the lack of staff to attend to us as guests . No porter to take our bags to our room . Not accompanied to the room to show us where it was or show the facilities . No staff except a receptionist to get us drinks in the evening . Untrained staff in the restaurant . Delay in service in the restaurant in the evening .
The facility itself is charming and has a great location. Service. Almost non existent. Perhaps not for a lacking of trying, but rather poorly managed.
Room and pool Breakfast and bathroom supplies no hair conditioner
landscape, location and facilities
Stunning views of San Gimignano and Tuscany. Fantastic location. Excellent spa. Good pool area. Good room. Good food. Good staff.
Value for money We missed it a few times going round as it's an entrance between two cafes, but we should have asked first!
Lovely room overlooking square. Fantastic location and the best breakfast of all the hotels we stayed in.
The location is good, in a central square. But S Gimignano is so small that is not important. It´s a expensive hotel for what offers. Bad value for money.Noisy rooms and poor breakfast.
The rooms and the location
We enjoyed are stay at the Leon Bianco - would recommend to anyone who likes a bit of peace and tranquility while visiting Italy Rooms with a view are outstanding and a joy to wake up to in the morning
perfect location. Friendly and efficient staff. excellent directions and very good english
Only one minor criticism was the breakfast was not particularly good.
The location was superb for a visit to San Gimignano. The warm reception was pleasant. Wifi connectivity was sporadic.
The location was the best possible place to be in S.G. Every part of the stay was wonderful, even considering that much of the town was closed for low season.
the piazza no parking
a beautiful location in tuscany. Friendly staff and enjoyed family style meals in the restaurant. would definitely return- next time would try to go horseback riding on their icelandic horses. good breakfast
Beautiful scenery, appreciated the English spoken, the pool was lovely
Located in the Tuscan countryside, 3mi far from the cute San Gimignano, Fattoria Voltrona is a peace of paradise in the middle of the vineyards and olive trees. Special congratulation to Daniela, the trilingual reception girl.
Fabulous localisation and views. More like a hostel than agritourism accommodation. Beware of dinners - based on our experience it's much better to add another 10 EUR and dine in San Gimignano than take a canteen-like offer in Fattoria Voltrona.
The view is amazing. To be in a farm that actually produces wine and olive oil is a great experience. The rooms are very farm style, wich I think is great, but some people might find it not so confortable. I rated the staff on the person that received us the first day. She was very angry and not helpful at all. I have to say on our last day we had a woman named Claudia who was very, very friendly, though. So it doesn't aply to everyone. The shower is very, very, very small. There's no water to drink in the room.
Excellent location, breathtaking views, excellent service attitude of the staff, good breakfast. Rooms not very clean
very very beautiful place to stay; nice rooms; nice people; breakfast included; tasty wine we did not know that we could have nice dinner (but it is problem of informations from booking.com?) and we had eat before come - that is little bit pitty
Beautiful surroundings, real Toscana. If you expect a luxury hotel style you will be disappointed, but if you want an original high quality farm holiday you will be very happy here! We will come back for sure and book the horse-riding tour in advance!
Beautiful place, worth the drive.Place is exceptional, traditional Tuscan food in their restaurant. Well worth a visit
Beautiful setting. So peaceful. Beautiful room. Wish we could have stayed more than one night. Need a car to get to San Gimignano.
The location for what we we're looking for and beauty was fantistic Alessandro was also very helpful in giving us some great suggestions on places to see and a great restaurant to go to Was very happy with our stay
The setting couldn't be any more beautiful. If you're looking for a vacation in Tuscany, you won't be disappointed. The property is very old but beautifully maintained. Disappointed we couldn't stay another night!
good location, close to amazing san gimignano and to other places in toscana. the pool is a bit shallow
With our rental vehicle we were able to travel from our very comfortable "home" at Il Casale del Cotone to many interesting towns and wineries nearby. The casale was full of history and charm, each room being unique in its features. We loved the hospitality and the beauty of this beautiful country hotel. The swimming pool looked very inviting but it was already a bit too cool as we were there in early October.
Alessandro the manager was very pleasant and the room was beautiful and very clean. It is superbly located but you will need a car to get into San Gimignano.
We liked everything about this hotel. It was the best we stayed in during our stay in Tuscany and considering we booked it at the last minute we had a very lucky find indeed! Alessandro the Proprietor was more than helpful and attentive, a charming man with excellent English . The room was superb, extrememeely clean, spacious and very very pretty. The food was to die for and we particularly liked the "Taste of Tuscany" evening which was arranged on our arrivval plus the the wine kept on flowing, all included in the price! Just wonderful. The hotel had a real feel of Tuscany and had soul in bucketfuls. Was very close to San Gimignano, about 5 minutes drive away. So all in all a superb little Tuscan gem. Highly recommended. Nothing not to like.
Kind and flexible host. Large pool. Nice and calm place after having stayed in Firenze and Sienna. Good food. Couldnt find any method to regulate the aircon.
Set in the hills of Tuscany, this 17th century farmhouse has been remodeled and is absolutely gorgeous. About a 5 minute drive from the nearest town, it offers peace and quiet. We loved the winery it's on; you could imagine how it would have been 400 years ago. Very comfortable room with good sized bathroom. Nice breakfasts, friendly staff. Would go back in a heartbeat. Only downsides were: no iron/ironing board available, nor was there a hair dryer. If I owned a hotel, these items would be in every room! I can't imagine that we're the only travelers with wrinkly clothes....
The host 'Alexandro' was very helpful and provided helpful information to us on what to do and see in the area. When he held a tuscan cuisine evening the food and wine was just fabulous - an unforgettable night. The setting was peaceful and also there was a very lovely pool. We had a very relaxing experience.
We liked the hospitality of the hotel as well as excellen dinners served by Alessandro - tipical Tuscan food and atmosphere.
Location, breakfast, large pool
The hotel is in a lovely quiet location with a wonderful view over San Giminano. The breakfast was very enjoyable with a lovely selection of pastries and savoury local food. The weather was much warmer than we thought it would be so the swimming pool was a definite bonus staying at this hotel. There was a really good restaurant a short walk up the lane. The staff were very helpful. Unfortunately the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable
Good pool and stunning views of San Gimignano. Rooms comfortable and very clean.
The location of the hotel was perfect, being outside the tourist area of San Gimignano, but having views of the lovely old town. It was quiet, peaceful and the staff were helpful and pleasant. Not given enough bath towels - we had to ask for more.
The hotel really is as prettily located as it seems on the pictures. The swimming pool (deep enough for diving) has the most amazing view of San Gimignano. If you're up for it, and don't mind the heat, there's a road next to the wine fields leading to the city after about 20 minutes walk. Don't forget to bring water. The podere has a good parking place, nice breakfast served every morning and each room has its own little table and chairs outside to sit in. I had expected two things, which turned out to be incorrect. They do not produce their own wine on-site (although they have bottles from nearby vineyards for sale) and there are no cooking facilities where you can prepare your meals (which is common in other agriturismos). Your pretty much only choice for dinner is the nearby restaurant (which turned out to be excellent though), unless you take a cab/drive to San Gimignano. The lady who was hosting when we were there didn't understand English, but was very nice and patient in trying to grasp my very limited Italian. This was a nice agriturismo, but I still feel the ratings here at booking.com are rather overrated.
The best view over the valley. A true Tuscan scene. Good swimming pool, breakfast was ok. Very quite location a few klm out of town San Giminano which has a castle theme. Great to explore and shop and eat. Room was small for a triple
Perfect in all its ways! Very helpfull staff Staff isn't always around or sometimes hard to find
The location is across the valleys from San Gigmignano and the views are stupendous. There is a restaurant just down the road from there a nd we ate there almost every nght . The food was good and the people were very friendly. I found the management not very congenial, perhaps the language was a problem..
The view of San Gimignano was incredible! The patio area and pool were very inviting, and made for a relaxing stay.
It is only a short drive from the main town and close enough to other areas to travel to by car Our room was quite dark
The pool, breakfast, garden, room&bathroom. I wouldn´t say don´t like, but because nice garden, may be staff can offer out side tables for a guest´s picnic using guest´s meal&wine with a small fee.
Very close to city walls Breakfast was very spartan. Dinner lacked excitment.
Surroundings and the village, friendly staff, reasonable dinner:good in comparison with restaurants in the village.
Everything was great. The hotel was very nice, very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It is within walking distance of the town. No problems.
Great! A highly recommendable hotel!
Ideal location for visiting San Gimignano, just outside the town walls. Fantastic views over Tuscan countryside from pleasant grounds and pool area. Family run with friendly and helpul staff. Slightly dated decor and shower facilities.
It is in the best area of Toscany, San Gimingano - great food, great location, great small family business... size of the room, but it is good for several days
Excellent staff, very helpful. Superb location. Firm bed and pillows
The staff were friendly and accommodating The mosquitos!!!
easy to find.very warm attitude.interior at good level.nice clean pool. good location(4-5 minutes walk to old city).own parking(i did not find free parking much closer to old city).beautyful sights.breakfast was ok. no
Visit date- Apr 28-30,2012. temp cool. Charming, old-world culture.Location was perfect for leisurely strolls through the town. The attached restaurant offered a beautiful vista over the surrounding countryside. Lots of ambience for evening dining. Very substantial breakfasts were served here as well. staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were small but adequate. We found the shops in San Gimignano offered the best variety of leather goods and prices were more reasonable than anywhere else as we travelled throughout Tuscany to Rome. We regretted not purchasing our handbags, belts and leather jackets there. All our accommodations were booked through booking.com. Every location met our expectations, and all reservations were as described on booking.com website. Know where you are going! Be sure you are at the right gate for entrance to the city. The streets are narrow and you really do not want to take a car into the city even to drop off luggage. There are no lifts and you must climb stairs with your luggage.Travel light..we didn't ! Hotel is only a short distance from the back entrance. Ask for a room in the back of the hotel. Our room overlooked the main street and at 6:00am each morning the trash and wine bottles are collected. It sounded like a bottle recycling location!
breakfast were great; the staff was really nice; not a perfect environment for kids; our kids are 8 and 11, il was ok, but, to my advise, it would not be suitable for kids of younger age;
the mattresses on the beds were really hard and unconfortable
The stunning views and private balcony. Friendly staff. Indoor pool. Excellent shuttle to the heart of San Gimignano
Excellent location, stunning view from Swimming Pool of San Gimignano and yes shuttle service is operating! Cannot get anything to eat (not even a snack by the pool) once the kitchen is closed which is inconvenient given that the hotel is 1.5km from town. Small shower even for a small person.
We found your place to be a peaceful relief coming from the hustle of Rome . The views were breathtaking and everything good about Tuscany. The food was wonderful . The coffee. Please get rid of that machine and make proper coffee
Lovely views everywhere.........a shuttle to the main walking area of San Gimignano, very convenient.....beds were very uncomfortable and hard !! Nice breakfast by the pool. Quite pricey............. Hard beds !!!!
Relais Cappuccina deserves a 10. This relatively new (5 years) hotel/resort has spared no expense to create a welcoming and quality getaway. Extremely friendly staff, superclean rooms, lavish breakfast in a stunning setting overlooking the Tuscan landscape and the old town of San Giminignano. The hotel has all the amenities one may desire and is conveniently located to make daytrips to Florence, Sienna etc. and is a great base to enjoy and discover the beauties of Tuscany. Highly recommended. Absolute value for money.
Location. The view. Breakfast was excellent.
The view from this location is stunning (not from every room) but in general.Very quiet location with 15min walk into San Gimignano which is a beautiful old walled city perched atop a hillside-also stunning views here. Staff at hotel friendly and attentive, we had basic comfort room which was very nice. Only slight negative comment is that not all rooms look out over the hills, but I suppose thats going to be impossible!
View from hotel good - nice having a balcony - room modern and nicely furnished. Pool area very nice. Atmosphere in restaurant would be much improved if the music was improved - having the radio on for meal times was not a good idea. Also the air conditioning in the room was controlled by a central computer - and did not seem to have any control in the room to make it cooler - would prefer to have the control myself. At Breakfast it was a self service buffet which was not a problem, but again it would have been improved if someone had served freshly made coffee - the coffee from the buffet was not very nice.
The views from the roof terrace and their fabulous, inexpensive restaurant (in town) Staff weren't always there, otherwise, nothing.
Lovely hotel, lovely location. Everything was just perfect. Already decided i will be returning to this hotel and have recommended it to family too. Can be difficult to find if you do not get a map from the restaurant Madragola which is owned by the same people
coming and going as I pleased, use of rooftop terrace, ensuite bathroom and comfortable bed - and then there was the view from the bedroom window - stunning.
It is right inside the town walls, close to the main square. The room was spacious and offered value for money. It is not airconditioned and as there were mosquitoes about, we could not open the window and the room was very stuffy for sleeping. The roof top terrace that we had read so much about was locked and inaccessible. Having to stop at the restaurant for directions cost us 2 euro in parking for 10 mins when they could easily put the instructions in an email. It is a ploy to get you to make a reservation there I think.
charming rooms, nice decor, nice location there is no one available at the front desk- after you check in; they give you a key for the front door, and disappear. we only saw the guy at breakfast time which, by the way, is only an hour ( 8:30- 9:30am). there is no wake up call service. there is not an alarm clock in the room, no electric kettle or safe either.
This is a great location with some interesting rooms and a great observation deck for viewing the San Gimignano. The staff needs to smile and be more greatful for guests. The Chambermaid was very accommodating and friendly. If it were not for her we would never have been able to check into the B&B when we did. We had stayed her before and loved the location. It was very noisey this trip because of a motorcycle racing through the narrow streets for over an hour. This is not the hotel's fault, but the towns problem. I would stay here again, but only in one of the two rooms on the garden level facing the garden. Smile next time and say happy you're here spending your money with us. Because you did not have your % off for eating in your rest. we eat somewhere else. Short sited, just because the concert was in town.
I loved this hotel and can not fault it in any way. Great room and views, staff, breakfast, cleanliness and possition. no
The style of the hotel. the rooms are small but very well decorated. The breakfast was plain! one choice of cereral. The same choice of bread cheese and cold meat every morning!! The sweet crossants were good but i would have preferred better cold cuts and better bread.
It was in the centre of the old town, with a lovely view from the roof-top terrace. The girl at reception was only in the guesthouse for and hour in the morning and then in the evening, and the front door was locked, so dont check in before 2pm or you will be left waiting outside the door. It was frustrating if you had a query, you could never guarantee she would be there, and if you locked yourself out, you had no hope!
Large, clean room. Excellent garden. Prime position in town. Check-in time is limited and there are not always staff available in the hotel.
very nice and quiet
Very clean and comfortable. Close to San Gimanginao and easy day trip to Florence.
Location was excellent for a holiday in the Tuscany. Very clean. Staff most helpful. We will return. Well done. Shower facilities could do with an upgrade.
location, room size, front desk staff was so courrteousc countryside was beautiful
View was great. Food was good. The room had a very welcoming feel to it. No in room safe.
The friendliness of the owner and the location. the atmosphere of te apts. and thefarm.
We loved the beautiful location and friendly owners who made us feel very welcome. Our room had a wonderful view. The pool was great. Charming village, full of character and atmosphere. Very peaceful at night. The owners were very helpful in providing walking maps of the area and also giving us a lift into San Gimignano in the evening and also to the local station for our journey home, which was greatly appreciated.
My Mother and I stayed at San Donato this summer and had such a wonderful stay. The family were so caring and nothing was ever a problem..I loved the fact that it was always alive and buzzing with family, working together to create this wonderful atmosphere. The wine was excellent and Federica would always be willing to give you a taste of any of their wines (at any time of the day!). We loved our stay here and will definately be back.
Very pleasant staff No AC in the room, so it was pretty hot at night.
The Fattoria San Donato was right in the heart of Tuscany. It was a good feel of how a winery works and the beauty of Tuscany could be seen from this location. No
The environment and the apartman was amazing. the whole fattoria was build in Toscan style. howeverthe apartman was very nice, it was alittle bit cold and wet.
The location was good. Please write at least 15 words Very basic
Very friendly and helpful family run farm. Changed our room to a self-catered flat without any problem; provided lots of advice on where to visit; lovely pool and great sunbathing area with lovely views over Tuscan countryside; free wine tastings of their farm produced wine; very quiet location, away from the crowds of San Gimagnano! No fans or airconditioning so some nights it got hot (shutters closed to keep out mosquitoes etc)
Very kind and helpfull owners. Delicious wines and good dinner, unfourtunately do they not serve dinner every night, but only twice a week. Perfect lokation near San Gimignano.
Host and staff very kind
Excellent restaurant. Very laid back and relaxing setting. Fabulous central position for visiting Florence, Pisa and Siena.
Very expensive for what it is. Inattention to detail - poor fitting shutters, mould around bath sealant. Vending - machine coffee at breakfast which for Italy is well below standard! The clear loser in all our stays in Italy to date.
Excellent location in a beautiful part of Tuscany. Restaurant is first class with home cooked Tuscan food using local, top quality ingredients. Staff very friendly giving the hotel it's family run appeal. Really only thing I would improve upon is having fresh fruit juice at breakfast and fresh coffee - both were from a machine. Not sure why.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The room was quiet and comfortable and food was first class
Good service and friendly people
It is calm and relaxing in a wonderful part of italy and the service is just what we look for - we have made several visits before as residnents and to the restaurany.
The staff was very friendly and helpful
We have returned to the Renaie for many many years it is near perfect ,as are all the staff. We hope to return in2011
Nice hotel in lovely area within easy driving distance of several lovely tourist towns. Very good cooking in the evening. On site parking and nice grounds / pool area. Not brilliant value for money. Breakfast not up to the gourmet standard of the evening meals. Dining room closed for evening meals on one of our two days (Tuesdays - we did know this in advance). Charge for internet access.
The full dinner we had at the hotel our first night has still not been beaten after being in Italy for a week - it was perfectly prepared and an extremely reasonable price. Breakfasts were very good too. The garden was gorgeous, and every room has a view of Tuscan hills and countryside - some views are better than others of course. Best views are from the south-facing balcony rooms. The Le Renaie closes up a little early in the evening - we were always rushing to get back to the hotel before the gate was closed at night. We do realize we were the exception to the rule - most guests were a bit older, and we never ran into anyone else awake (other than one staff person) when we returned about midnight.
